@cosmiccanidae
[x]
In the far off parts of the galaxy, Atieno had a way of lurking, having a more diffuse presence to the point where many didn't even recognize that they weren't alone. It was a habit that they had developed over many millenia of actually being the only presence in a given area for long periods of time.
Of course, they had to be a bit more discreet these days with the kinds of individuals out and about. Such as this one who had been singing in a distant part of the galaxy.
They listened closely, wondering if they could identify the language - it seemed to be from Earth but Atieno was going to hold back from making in particular guesses. If anything they were just paying attention to the key and the individual who happened to be singing.
In this somewhat formless state they continued to observe, even at the sight of him starting to be a little more on edge.
Perhaps, they should make themself more.. noticeable at this point.
It was with that they shift into a more visible form drifting a near distance from that moon - just visible enough for him to know that he was not in fact alone.
"Didn't mean to throw you off there, sorry."

Uh oh.
Mark usually did a pretty decent job at keeping a low profile, but he could have never expected this– Well, no, he was a dog person himself. He shouldn't be surprised.
"Uh– I help at the local shelter... So I guess that might be the issue?"
He gave a fanged grin. Unfortunately, his improv skills didn't shine as well as his lightning.

@cosmiccanidae pre-voidling Gaster AU
Dr. Gaster pushed himself flat against the wall; eyes barely the size of specks franticly scanning the room as he dared not move, not even breathe.
He was just a scientist--he wasn't associated with the military; he didn't know the procedures for a raid, never expected to be involved in one.
He didn't know why these pirates were here or what they wanted, but he didn't want any part of it!

@cosmiccanidae - from here
The man squinted at him scrutinizingly, leaning in to study his face. "Maybe I am. You looked familiar, but neither my eyes nor my memory are what they used to be. Maybe we haven't met at all."
Russell's shoulders became that bit stiffer as the stranger leaned in to look at his face. While he was mostly able to just accept the more canine features on this guy, it was just the fact he was a stranger and so close to him.
"Oh, it's, it's okay... I, I don't think we, uh, we have," Russell said, "But heh, from, from a distance, I uh, I probably just seem like one, one of those blond guys who, who look, look familiar to, to anybody. It, it happens."
He hoped that sounded at least somewhat funny.
"Would, would you like anything to, to drink while, while you're here at, at least?"

"Eh?" Raisu looked up upon being addressed before glancing at the other chair. "Not last I checked. Sit to your heart's content," he informed the stranger. But then there was something that caught his attention. This man had quite the scent of dog on him which now had him giving him another look.
"Thank you," Leofric said, with a small nod. His face didn't change, but the tone in his voice was sincere. He moved to do just that, "I don't usually like to impose, but I am still recovering from a recent injury."
He didn't need to go into the fact that he had been trapped and then smoked out by burning sage for a prolonged period. While his recovery had gone well so far, he still needed some moments to rest. At least his fellow canine-kin had allowed that. But he did notice the look on the man's face.
"I apologise. Are you picking up on... what I actually am?"
While there was a slight growl in his voice, and his face hardly changed, his body language suggested that he wasn't feeling at all angry or hostile.

Panting already, Perrine hastened along the busy street, dodged the people that got in her way. In both hands and two helping tentacles, a well-filled bag, which she tightly pressed against her chest.
Occasionally, the small lavender alien threw a glance behind her.
In exactly one of those moments, it happened; she bumped into @cosmiccanidae, stumbled, and eventually landed on her bum.
The bag was now laying on the ground as well, some content scattered next to it; two bags of seaweed chips, a fresh fish, a can of soda..
"Ouch.."
(( hi! nice to meet you! hope you can work with this.

“Darn tootin’ I do” Junkrat nodded as he dusted his hands off. He looked back at the dust cloud still settling from his explosion “ya don’t get t’ where I am today with luck alone. Sometimes you need- unluck.”

@cosmiccanidae wants to play!
Molly threw out her arms to block her friends from getting closer to the stranger roaming the park they were hanging out it. As the group’s only working brain cell when it came to dangerous individuals, it was her responsibility from stopping Pheonica from trying to start polite conversation with them or Trixie from asking where they got the cool knife.
Except she hadn’t stopped Trixie this time.... Cause the smaller child had ducked under her arm.

The arbiter was practically screaming with rage inside of his mind and behind his ribs. Russell could feel it, but just like Cassandra's ranting and raving all those years ago, he found he could tune it out with some effort.
"You tricked me," he simply said to the arbiter, gritting his teeth against the pain as it broke another two ribs this time, "I've got some blame too for accepting your offer, but you came when I was vulnerable, used my guilt complex, and made me feel like I couldn't go peacefully... and then it turned into this."
He was silent as he dropped the fake sword after a brief struggle.
"Maybe they won't," Russell then said, as this time the right arm snapped out of place. He couldn't resist letting out a cry of agony as it did so, but he still continued, "But they have, have to make that choice themselves. I never had, had any right to take that away and now I'm at least going to make the start in setting things right again."
He didn't resist as he was lifted into the air this time. The arbiter tried to force him to use his one functioning arm to defend himself against what was to come, but Russell fought to keep himself unprotected.
"Thank you," Russell then said to Raisu. There was a brief jolt of actual fear, his own fear, when he saw that knife. But he had to tell himself this was for the best, "I know it doesn't change what I've done, and I won't be there to help make amends, but I'm sorry, for all of this."
His leg broke then, making him take in a sharp intake of breath. He just fight to fight through it. It was a temper tantrum now that the arbiter was no longer getting what it wanted. Russell could endure it for the time being.
"I really did just want to make the world better," Russell said, before he shook his head, "No prayers. Just, could you please make sure someone looks after my cat? It's not her fault any of this happened..."
He then forced his arm down entirely. It shook, but he managed to keep it away from his chest. The same went for the leg that still worked. Russell then waited for the coming blow.
Raisu paused. Russell really did seem to be having a change of heart, didn't he? Finally seeing the true nature of his benefactor and that this entire situation wasn't as morally justified as he'd thought. It was sad to see that realized so late.
Even though he knew that realization was the correct one to make, he still took the time to consider other possibilities like rather this was all some sort of elaborate act since he'd been resisting the initial control attempt. But he couldn't see any benefit to it especially since he wasn't trying to get Raisu to change what he was doing, so it was likely genuine.
Plus it did fit with his earlier assessment of Russell as one who stuck to his principles which in this case included nonviolence.
Raisu nodded solemnly to Russell's request. It would be a mercy killing at this point.
"I can do that. And I can do my best to grant you the favor of a quick death." At least with regards to his own actions. He unfortunately couldn't do anything about everything the arbiter was trying to do to him in the meantime.
He gestured with his hand and Russell was lifted from the floor, suspended in midair. He drew the knife he carried for emergencies from his cloak. A precise strike to a vital area was likely to make for a more painless death than being crushed under the weight of gravity.
"Do you have things you need to say? Prayers to pray?"

"You shouldn’t have seen that." ((I hope you don't mind me sending a three day old meme))
"I didn't see anything!" Shy blurted out. The lie was flimsy and she knew it, but there wasn't much else she could do; when you walk in on a criminal doing...whatever it is that's going on here, you tend to pretend it isn't going on, as a tacit way of begging for your life. Hopefully her pleas didn't fall on deaf ears.

"Be flattered. He kept going on about this cool dog guy he met for days."
Which she couldn’t fault her friend for. They all deserved a break from the horrors every once in a while.

Well, WD realized some time after he left that they didn't really plan that whole thing very well. For starters, they didn't pick a time, and secondly, the length of a day varied drastically depending on where you were standing and how you defined it.
Of course he could have called to clarify but seriously, was that his style?
So exactly three Federation-standard days from the moment the arrangement was made, he arrived. The ship was a simple one person distance flyer, a small black thing that had beauty in its simplicity.
The side unfolded and WD stepped out. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he looked exactly the same as he had the last two times.

Raisu eyed Russell with that one flame-orange eye of his. The kid seemed like he was trying to be sympathetic but he was inquiring into an entire can of worms.
"Are you sure you want to go there, boy? It was no simple matter. You may not be ready for the gravity of it."
Russell felt a brief chill run up his back at the way that orange eye looked at him. But he ignored it for the time being.
“I uh, I asked what happened,” Russell said, as he played with his sleeve briefly. He was going to commit to that even if it did sound really serious, “Even if, even if I, I can’t provide any, any advice or, or help... sometimes it can help to have, to have someone listen... I’m not stammering out, out of hesitating. That’s just, that’s just how I talk.”

He hadn't even realized just how visibly he'd startled until it was pointed out and he released a breath he hadn't been aware he was holding. This guy seemed like he just showed up out of nowhere.
"You shouldn't sneak up on an old man like that," he remarked, trying to brush off that brief moment of surprise. Even though something did smell just ever-so-slightly off about the stranger. And ironically, unbeknownst to him, Bill was the real old man here.
While he kept his face relatively neutral for the time being, he had to admit that accidentally scaring this stranger was actually pretty funny.
“Sorry about that,” Bill said. “Sometimes I forget just how quietly I tend to move. You don’t look that old to me, but I suppose appearances can be deceiving.”
After all, he was pretty old himself, but he hardly looked a day over thirty. This one had a very interesting sort of aura about him, and he wanted to know more.
“Well, seeing as we got off on the wrong foot a bit. How about I introduce myself properly? The name’s Bill.”
