All pokemon have value and contribute to this world in a meaningful way.
Except Squakabilly. I would fight a Squakabilly with my bare hands if doing so wouldn't get the whole flock on my ass. Budget Chatots that partake in gang warfare and wake me up at way too early o'clock, fuck off forever.

I'm done packing! Or I'm at least done packing the boxes. Sleeping stuff can't go until Friday night, and some of the Pokémon stuff stays out, too. I bought their foods in bulk last month, do that'll be packaged after I feed them Friday night, and we'll grab breakfast on the way to the airport. I bought a seat for Chomp last time I flew somewhere, which was late July last year, but he didn't really like being up in the air in the plane. Something about it made him feel anxious, so this time I've only gotten the one seat.
Stars I hate flying, though. It's truly the worst experience. Last year we drove to Paldea, but my mother can't get the time off work this year and I don't want to put her and my brother through that again. So this year I'm flying. Except that's my least favourite thing to do ever. I might honestly die.
Airports are the worst place to be and I hate them so so so much!! But it's fine I've bought extra luggage (another suitcase) for my boxes to be stuffed into and I've packed them up tight and secure, with everything labelled and tracking on all of it. And I've got a service picking up my other boxes that I won't need right away the afternoon before my flight, which is fine. Im just not looking forward to the actual experience of being in the airport and getting on and off the plane. Last time I was on one was when I was coming back from Kalos last year, and the landing made my ears pop in the most excruciating pain I've ever been in lmao.
But it's fine! I'm sure it'll be fine! I'll be fine, and as soon as I'm out of security in the Paldean airport I'll be able to have my Pokémon out with me to help me out. Maybe I'll even get pumpkin approved to fly with me on my lap if I'm there early enough. They always make me feel safe.
But holy shit am I anxious.
#the tism is tisming#pkmn irl#unreality#pokemon irl#pokemon#rotomblr#rotumblr#pkmn#pokeblogging#pumpkin the morelul#flying is scary TへT#scratch that actually#airports are scary#i wish i could just get a flying taxi#but that would be unbelievably expensive and a very long and tiring flight for the corviknight/skwawkabilly that would have to fly me#and i wouldnt want to do that to them#but yeah airports suck when youve got the specific brand of autism that gets fucked iver by every single thing you have to do there

i’m curious- around when would you expect a corvisquire to evolve?
placing a point of evolution is kind of difficult, because not all pokemon evolve even if they meet some of the conditions necessary for evolution in their species. it also depends on your expectations- are you talking about the nebulous "level" of a pokemon, or its age?
thankfully, because corviknight are regularly trained for the purpose of carrying flying taxis, we have a lot of data on what their average training experience is like. most pokemon will not evolve into a final stage until they've reached sexual maturity. in the rookidee line, that happens at about two years old. juveniles often don't evolve because their bodies are putting too much energy into growth to spend any on a form change. precocious evolution often results in stunted growth for this reason. however, just because a pokemon has reached sexual maturity does not mean it's going to evolve by default- and oftentimes, with pokemon that evolve more than once, they will not evolve again for a significant period of time.
we generally see trained rookidee evolve a little after two years old. it's recommended not to train a pokemon to its evolutionary level until after it hits sexual maturity to prevent injury and disordered growth; in galar, the standard is to get them to about level 8 by the time they're a year old, then get them to their evolutionary level of 18 a little after their second birthday. following that, training continues at a fairly similar pace. trained corvisquire typically reach their evolutionary level of 38 by the time they're 4 years old, with 3 years 6 months being the earliest recorded. at this point, there tends to be a lot more variance based on the individual. a fast-growing individual may evolve at an earlier level; on the other hand, a slow-growing individual may not evolve even if they hit level 38. 38 is just the point at which most individuals trigger their evolution.
this is, of course, only applicable to captive populations with regular training. wild rookidee often never evolve even if they reach the level for it because of a limited amount of resources. only about 4% of wild rookidee will eventually become a corviknight, with evolution occurring often as late as 6-7 years old (compare this to their wild lifespan of about 9-10 years).

would a corviknight be a good pet?
I corviknight would indeed make a great pet… for a very specific kind of owner. This incredible pokémon wouldn’t be the easiest for many people to care for, but they are well known to get along with humans and they are highly intelligent, just like real-world corvids!
One of the biggest things holding corviknights back on the score end of things is their size. While they are certainly light for their size, despite their armored appearance, this species is much larger than one would imagine a house pet to be. At over seven feet tall, corviknights need a lot of space to thrive. If you live in a small apartment, no matter how pet-friendly it is, it likely won’t provide a corviknight a lot of space to move around. Additionally, it would be very difficult to transport a corviknight anywhere unless they wanted to fly there themselves. The vet? The groomer? Good luck!
Thankfully, it appears that corviknights are pretty easy to train, in no small part due to their high intelligence. In the Galar region, this species can be seen working alongside humans to run an airborne taxi service (Shield), indicating a friendliness towards our species and a willingness to be trained. They don’t seem to be aggressive towards humans in any way, despite their apex predator status (in most regions, that is) (Sword, Scarlet).
Due to the combination of their intimidating black armor and formidable moves, corviknights are powerful foes in combat (Sword). In their native Galar region, no other pokémon dares to mess with corviknights, and with good reason. Moves like Steel Wing and Brave Bird make them quite dangerous, especially considering their size and weight. These powerful moves do affect the species’ score, coming into sharp conflict with the positive points gained from their friendly, easy to train nature. It’s important to consider, however, that the safety of your corviknight may be at risk depending on where you live. In regions where tinkatons live, like the Paldea region, corviknights are far less dominant, often falling victim to attacks from these natural predators. This has made it unsafe to replicate the Galar region’s taxi service there, and would make it dangerous to let your corviknight play in any areas where these pokémon may be waiting for them (Scarlet). If you are planning to adopt a corviknight, I insist that you do research into if tinkatons live in your area, or if any of your neighbors own one, for your pet’s safety.
All this being said, it should be clear why corviknights should only be taken in by specific trainers. This species may have been successfully domesticated, and they are known to be quite friendly and safe around humans despite their size and menacing appearance, but they require a lot of space to live, and must be kept away from predators that they have little to no defenses against. So long as you are able to provide them with the care that the Galarian airborne taxi service does, you should be able to manage, but I must point out that many people won’t be able to do so.

The recent post about Corviknights made me realize they are so big?? I've never seen one except on TV, thought those suckers were like, 3 foot tall but that thing has over a foot on most people. I guess that's why Galarians have a taxi service themed around them you could very comfortably ride one of them instead of them just being a notable bird in the region. huh
those fuckers are MASSIVE. literally i'm not scared of very many pokémon but corviknight are 1. really common and 2. could likely make me into goddamn prometheus and mince me into a finely sliced salami

"Then let's be lost together"
Leon x Trainer! Reader
--------------------------------------------------------------
Warnings: none!
--------------------------------------------------------------
"(Pokemon), return!"
You called back your partner as the wind and the rain continued to blow, not wanting to danger your partner in this weather. You tried to shield your eyes as you looked around to see where you were.
"I can't see anything..." You huffed and pulled out your rotom phone noticing it was low on battery, "can't even call for a taxi either."
You then put your phone away and trudged to an abandoned tower to get some cover from the weather. As you sat your stuff down in the dark room you sighed in relief and turned your flashlight on.
"At this rate, I'll be late to the tournament." You huffed in disappointment and sat down against a wall with your knees to your chest.
Some faint noises could be heard in the background, choosing to ignore it you called out your (electric type Pokemon of your choice!) and asked if they could lend their power to charge your phone.
You looked around in the dark, damp place and sighed again. You looked back at your Pokemon and they looked uneasy and were in a defensive stance.
"What is it?" you asked and looked in the direction your Pokemon was looking at. Your eyes widened when you saw a Pokemon emerge from a shadow. It was a wild Dusclops!
"Okay ready to fight (Pokemon name)? Oh wait you still have my phone in your mouth... Let's go!" You decided to bolt with your Pokemon closely behind you.
You managed to get far enough away from the tower and back in the pouring rain. "Great..."
"Heyy!!" A loud voice called from above you. You looked up and saw an outline of a Charizard with someone on top. "Hey! Are you lost?"
That's weird, flying taxis usually use Corviknights...
The Charizard and the man landed in front of you and your vision cleared....It was Champion Leon! The one you were dreaming of going up against if you weren't caught in this bloody rain...
Your eyes widened as you saw him jump off Charizard and walk up to you, towering over you.
"Sorry to startle you, I got lost trying to make my way to Wyndon. Then this storm kicked up, losing my way even more," he said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.
You gotta admit, he looked delicious like this. All drenched, his clothes clinging to his body showing the outline of his muscles and- I'mma stop there.
"Uh yeah, same. I was also headed to Wyndon until I got caught in the rain," you said to him.
"So you're in the same boat I'm in! Haha, what a coincidence!" he laughed. "How about we set up camp together? I may not look like it but I can cook a pretty mean curry."
You smiled at him and approved as you both sat your stuff down and set up a campsite. You shared your ingredients but he opted to use whipped cream, sweet pecha berries, and...sausages?
"Um, are you sure that's going to be good?"
"Trust me," he replied, concentrating on making his curry. You shrugged and let your pokemon out so they could recharge.
Time passes as you're cracking jokes with Leon and talking and getting to know each other. He finally finishes his rancid curry and gives you a plate to have a try.
You looked at the plate that stood in your hands suspiciously. It was bubbling and gurgling.
"eat up! I promise it's as good as it looks," he says with a mouthful.
You looked at him and back at your plate and decide to lick the tip of the spoon. To much surprise it was pretty good. Your pokemon seemed to enjoy it judging from the food around their mouths.
As your two finish up dinner, you notice the rain stopped but it was dark outside. Leon was gathering up the dirty dishes while you were getting your phone to work again after having a little water damage and a bite mark from your Pokemon.
"Hey, how about we get some sleep and tomorrow morning we can travel to Wyndon together?" Leon suggests.
"Sounds like a plan, hopefully we don't get lost," you joked.
"If we did, let's get lost together"

Hello! I’m Jackdaw Natividad originally from Alola but is now a resident of Galar working towards her PhD in Pokemon Ecology! (If any of you are curious it’s Blueberry Academy).
As for my credentials:
- Four years spent at Hau’oli’s Community Pokemon Academy for my Bachelors in Alolan Ecology
- Two years spent in Paldea at Naranja Academy for my first half of my Masters in General Pokémon Biology
- Currently part of an exchange student project in Galar, representing Blueberry Academy in Unova! (3 years away from my Doctorate!)
What my team consists of?
My Pokémon team is very much geared towards practical work and research than for battling. All of my Pokémon have been certified as research assistant pokemon and thus highly discouraged to battle.
- Male Corviknight named Kwek-kwek: Specializes in transportation and is the main way I get around Galar. (Please don’t ride any corviknight, they have to be licensed by the Sky Taxi Association)
- Male Dedenne named Plop: He’s a great companion when it comes to traveling through small spaces. Often equipped with a camera on his back to get close up shots of the world of smaller Pokémon.
- Female Obstagoon named Scrapper: She’s there for both helping carry equipment as well as being able to disengage aggressive pokemon with obstruct. She’s equipped with her own tool belt and has a bright orange collar.
- Female Braviary named Araw: She’s specialized for aerial views, allowing me to take surveys from a Birds Eye view. She’s equipped with a camera vest that has Blueberry’s Academy logo on it. (Specially loaned equipment)
- Female Blissey named Lola: She’s the onboard medic and veterinarian of our team. Specially trained to handle either large or aggressive Pokémon. Certified by Galar and Unova’s Medical Association.
- Pheromosa named Vida: They’re a rescue ultra beast who was deemed unsuitable to be returned to ultra space. I am currently training them to be able to keep up with much faster pokemon as well as quickly fetch tools.

This blog is a pokemon irl blog! I’ll tag with unreality so others can block if needed!
I treat pokemon as animals unless their Pokédex states otherwise. So this will cover topics such as predation, animal remains, bodily functions and death. Avoid if you’re squeamish.
I do not have an actual degree in ecology but it’s my special interest.
I do not own the Pokémon sword and shield games and my information comes from Bulbapedia, Pokedex and Serebii as well as various YouTube video clips and more.
I also will have sideblog moments where I reblog something that was meant for my main on here
