Chevrolet Corvair 95 Greenbrier Sportswagon, 1961. The Corvair 95 Greenbrier was a cab-over van based on the rear-engined Corvair. The render from May 11, 1960, shows a design study for a slope roof version that never made it off the drawing board.

The Corvair trucks hold a lot of interest for me, and this one is a daily driver. They say that the tailgate damage happened in shipping, which is a real shame.  I wonder how difficult it would be to get hold of another one?

These photos taken at a local car show are of a Christmas display made by a local Chevy Corvair Club.  The 1961 Corvair 95 dropside pickup would be the sleigh and the convertibles and sedans dated 1962 to 1968 would be the reindeer if Santa’s operations were more modernized.
The red noses and antlers on the cars are accessory kits you can find at any auto parts store.  Of course I wonder if they make the car look festive or just plain weird?
Anyway, hope you like this!

Chevrolet’s 1962 Corvair Rampside Series 95 pickup
Chevrolet’s 1962 Corvair Rampside Series 95 pickup was part of a line of trucks aimed squarely at the competition from Volkswagen. Its unique side loading capability was complemented by good performance and agile handling and, in the upscale Deluxe version offered here, chrome bumpers, mirrors, grille and hubcaps, and a color-keyed interior to match its two-tone Red on White paint scheme. Like its passenger-car counterparts, this restored 1961 Rampside features a rear mounted 145 CI air-cooled flat 6 engine, here mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. An AM radio is included.
- Series 95 Corvair Rampside Pickup - Unique side loading capability - Older restoration - Rear mounted engine - 4-speed on the floor - Radio - Chrome bumpers - Chrome mirrors - Wheel covers - Wide whitewall tires - Finished in White and Red - Red bench seat - Silver painted dash
