I happen to think a lot about how on edge and guarded Fwhip was when Sausage first tried coming back to talk to him when he got uncorrupted.
I'd think there were a lot of irreversible and unforgettable scars left over after the dust finally settled.

The fall of Stratos
Tw// injury, death (dw, it's minecraft :])
The concept of esmp s2 Joel almost dying in battle with an old familiar face.
While he fights for his life, the other emperors are none the wiser. It's only until the fountain in Critter City starts desperately spitting out wine, turning the water a deep crimson, that Lizzie realises something is off.
And It's only until Scott of Chromia hears a rumble and when looking up he sees the Eye of Stratos tumble out of the sky, distroying a gigantic part of Lower Stratos and taking many citizen down with it, that he realises something is deeply wrong.
And when the stalactites fall from the cave ceiling in Gobland and Head of Gobland hastily escorts his companions outside, that he notices the dust rising up from the neighboring kingdom.
There's no one in Sanctuary. Except for Joel. The protector of this place has long been banished from the realm, and only a shadow of him remains.
Joel watched as the shadow dissapears, axe abandoned deeply inside the (former) God's chest.
Perhaps, with the last power he had, he'd crawl towards the ocean. Maybe he'd stare into the deep blue and smile has he realises he might finally go home.
The emperors would be none the wiser, because when they evantually got there, there was no God to be found.

More WTCF? please ๐Ÿฅบ
Fwhip is chaotic evil, nothing new but its also so much worse, because he's so much more into murdering people that it gets to to the point he traps Scott in a death loop.
Gem doesnt know what the fuck is wrong & tbh doesnt care. Most of the death messages show up like [Smajor1995 was killed by Smajor1995] or [Smajor1995 was skewered by a stalactite] so no suspicion on her end but tbh she wouldnt care then.
Pearl should care. Scott is one of her best alliances and definitely one of her strongest, but she doesnt. She doesnt care, she thinks whatever the hell Scott's doing is at the tiniest bit deserved. She doesnt understand Xornoth's motives outside of the Rivendell gods, and she doesnt really care to know. She knows Fwhip's motives, to bring his twin sister back to life and thats all she really cares about. Other than Scott, she'll help anyone help with the twins being chaos.

Empires SMP Headcanons
(most of these are season 1, I'm not caught up on season 2 lore)
S1 Gem and fWhip were both born human. They each chose different paths to gain power regardless: Gem chose wizardry and fWhip chose to be an artificer/alchemist. Part of the reason he moved to the Grimlands from the Crystal Cliffs is because of the corruption there (not the Xornoth corruption). It fascinated him. Eventually, prolonged exposure to it changed him. Like how in cannon, the corruption gave him real dragon wings to replace his mechanical wings, but I think it also turned him into a vampire.
This one is pretty vague but I think the floating islands of Stratos might have something to do with the floating islands in The Overgrown or the ones Wizard Gem fled to.
IDK if this is cannon but the lines from where water level changed that you can see at the Pix's archaeological dig are from when the ocean drained.
Sheriff Jimmy, Princess Katherine, and Princess Gem were childhood friends (I stole this from a YouTube comment)
Apollo (Gem's s2 bear) is a reincarnation of her X Life bear, Blue. This would fit with the cannon fact that she brought the season 1 dragons over from a previous world she'd lived in.
In season 1, Scott felt particularly protective of Shrub because he felt guilty for her home being destroyed (even though he literally did not cause it and could not have stopped it, he's just like that). That's why he didn't get too mad when she stole the Xornoth crystal. The reason he gave her those boots in the first episode was because he could sense that she had been near his brother, even though he didn't know that was what was happening.
In season 2, Pix, Gem, and Joel always knew about Lizzie being a cat. Pix and Gem because they know none of this is real, and Joel because he's her husband so of course he'd know

Most of the problems in ESMP s2 could be fixed by the s1 members and the s1 problems could be solved by the s2 members
Shelby got corrupted? Shrub would simply not let that happen
Sausage supreme is back? Gem would simply kill him again
S1 Sausage got corrupted? S2 Sausage has a child to look after, he can't be evil!
The rift? Look me dead in the eyes and tell me Shrub, Gem, and Scott couldn't solve that in two seconds
The s2 members weren't that close so they probably would have just killed Scott off and been like "well, at least Xornoth is gone"
Codfather vs WRA? Neither of those alliances even exist
People making fun of Jimmy? No that would actually get worse if s1 Fwhip was there, he doesn't get fixed

Reasons why I think Jimmy might be a fae:
When splashed with the lore revealing potion, Jimmy became tiny. It might be that the potion is false and just shrunk Jimmy's size, but it is can also be possible that Jimmy turned tiny due to being a fae in disguise.
When talking to the old sheriff [Martyn], the old sheriff calls Jimmy a Pixie. Something EXTREMELY close to a faerie/fae. Not to mention the old sheriff never gave Jimmy his name.
This might not be on purpose but Jimmy is TERRIBLE in PvP lately. He tried killing fWhip twice and failed both times. Faeries are harmed by iron, and Jimmy has a literal railroad made out of it. Maybe it weakened Jimmy but he doesn't even realise it.
Faes don't forgive easily and hold grudges against people who have acted horribly towards them. They sometimes go into the persons way to ruin stuff for them, breaking their stuff.. cursing them... attempting to kill them sometimes as well.
Fae like children a lot more than adults and in some stories are shown playing with them and causing mischief. Jimmy didn't like Hermes at first, but that was only because of Joel. When the law/lore alliance was made Jimmy IMMEDIATELY became nicer to Hermes, even calling him a kind kid at one point. Not to mention Tiny Tom! Jimmy tried so hard to get Tiny Tom back, but that might just be him being a mama bird. It's a cool thought though. [FUN FACT: FAES USUALLY STEAL CHILDREN AS WELL] // EDIT: JIMMY KEPT HIS GOBLIN CHILD BECAUSE HE'S LONELY AND WANTS SOMEONE AROUND, BUT WHEN FWHIP BECOME A NORMAL EMPOROR AGAIN HE THREW THE GOBLIN CHILD AWAY? This gave me many mixed signals.....
Jimmy has NEVER gave his actual name to people in empires, which is James. He uses nicknames for himself near others.
Fae love nature and Jimmy has shown interest in getting more plants and life in Tumbletown, he just doesn't know how to. He has asked Sausage for tips multiple times.
Jimmy might have been a fae at one point and lost his wings, or just ran away from the other faes. It's a cool theory but very unlikely. But then again, we have no idea what Jimmy was before being a sheriff.
Faeries are easily offended and might turn evil if they feel like you have betrayed/wronged them beyond forgiveness. Sounds familiar huh??? *looks at Jimmy and Fwhip aggressively*
Jimmy has done SO MANY THINGS THAT WOULD GET YOU KILLED BY A FAERIE UNLESS YOU WERE ALSO ONE.. He entered a fae ring, said his name near the fae multiple times, accepted a gift from the fae, said sorry AND thank you, went around telling others about his interaction with a faerie, and more... Either Jimmy is a faerie or he's just the faes favourite.
THAT'S ALL FOR NOW!!! COMMENT IF YOU HAVE ANY THEORIES OR EVIDENCE :D I'd love to hear it!!
EDIT: MARTYN/OLD SHERIFF CALLED JIMMY ONE OF THE FAE AND JIMMY QUICKLY DENIED IT!!! Jimmy could be a runaway fae?? Maybe that's why he was so scared of the fae corruption! He might be thinking the faes want revenge.

In Which I Blame the Wool Trade for The Apocalypse
I have a longstanding headcanon for how to trace the empires s1 finale back to one thing: you guessed it, the wool trade. Specifically, to the cessation in trade between the Grimlands and Rivendell after the eternal winter arc, and to the blood sheep.
Hereโ€™s the state of the wool trade, in canon: after the dust settles from the eternal winter arc, thereโ€™s no trade between the two empires. But fWhip still needs wool. So whatโ€™s a Count to do but steal some blood sheep from his ally and hide them in the caves beneath his city, and cross his fingers that nothing goes wrong?
The next thing you know, the city blows up from the unstable, poorly-mixing magic in the Forge reactor when fWhip makes Jimmy a new Codfather head. Do you remember another time when mixing magic caused things to explode?
Earlier in the season, when Katherine was working on brewing her anti-corruption potions, she gathered magical materials from all different empires, including Mythland, where Sausage provided her with blood sheep fleece. Upon mixing it with the other magic artifacts, her cauldron exploded. Her conclusion was that blood sheep magic didnโ€™t react well with other types of magic.
Do you see where I am heading yet?
The cod and salmon in the reactor were distinct entities, with their own magical properties. It only follows that their mixture is unstable; but the whole city in ruins? Not only that, but all the cataclysms to follow, with nothing to amplify the aftershocks?
There were blood sheep beneath the city. And the blood sheep were already upset, per Sausageโ€™s lore. What more would it take to tick them off?
It is my conclusion that mixing cod and salmon above such large quantities of blood sheep was what turned a bad reaction into a force to destroy empires. As Katherineโ€™s cauldron exploded when the seemingly-stable blood sheep fleece entered the mix of magics, the blood sheep living beneath the Forge and the city unleashed massive magical damage upon the two powersโ€™ combination.
In short, the resolution of a never ending feud lit the spark. But it was the remnants of a cold war that let it burn the empires down.

Empires smp s2 Western AU
Lizzie is the town mayor who everyone knows is corrupt and definitely involved in some underhanded dealings, but nothing ever really gets done about it because her little brother Jimmy is the exasperated sheriff who keeps burning all the reports on her. He doesn't know how much longer he can keep doing this for her, but what is he going to do? That's his sister.
Most of the stuff Lizzie does under the table is really pretty harmless anyway, or at the very least doesn't affect the people of the town much, so they're mostly content to let her do whatever.
Sausage and Joel are couple who married for tax benefits, and accidentally adopted Hermes when they found him living under their porch like some kind of raccoon.
Lizzie takes great pride in being the fun "aunt" who teaches him swears and feeds him more sugar than he probably should have. She also won't stop flirting with Joel whenever she gets the chance.
"Aunt Lizzie taught me about tax fraud today!"
"Why does the mayor need to know how to commit tax fraud?"
Scott is the bartender with a really complicated, off and on relationship with Jimmy. It basically consists of flirting his way out of trouble because he's definitely a dealer in the black market and a lot of sketchy shit goes down at his bar.
Katherine is the daughter of the wealthiest man in town who moonlights as a vigilante, and Shelby is the town doctor who she keeps visiting in order to patch up the injuries she gets while out at night. Not so surprisingly, they are both crushing hard on one another.
Joey is a bandit whom Katherine regularly crosses paths with. He's a bit infatuated with her even though she is not interested in the slightest.
False is a reclusive engineer whose projects are... questionable at best. Everyone has just kind of learned to ignore the strange explosive sounds coming from her house.
Oli is a musician who plays at Scott's bar. Jimmy is convinced there is something up with that guy but he is in fact, not involved in the previously mentioned sketchy shit at all. He's shockingly oblivious to all of it, actually.
Fwhip is the town's deputy who really doesn't like Jimmy. They tolerate each other for the sake of their work but things tend to get complicated when you have to work with your ex-boyfriend on a daily basis. They try to avoid one another whenever possible.
Gem is a farmer who ran away from wealthy parents because she got bored with that life. She also works at a beekeeper. Basically the entire town's only food source.
Pixlriffs is an archaeologist who came out to study a new dig site and then realized that there were so many fossils out here he could spend the rest of his life here without running out. Whenever he's not out digging he's running the local library. Has the weirdest, most random collection of hyperspecific knowledge.

A long post is under the cut, but I think we, as a fandom, moved on far too quickly from the endings of empires smp season 2.
Almost everyone got a happy ending.
Fwhip resigned from the role of the Goblin king.
Joel accended to true God hood.
Sausage grew old in sanctuary and raised Hermes to be an interdimentional warrior.
Gem finished Dawn and chose to stay in Hermitcraft because it was the best choice.
Katherine cured the curse plaguing her land.
Joey got to go on all sorts of adventures after defeating his arch-nemesis Skeletron.
Pix, while not finishing his work, got to tell the story of the ancient ruins.
Lizzie created a fully functioning city of animals to live as they want.
Shelby became one of the most powerful witches and got that date with Katherine.
Scott went off into the sunset with Owen to discover new lands and treasures to steal.
Heck, even Oli got out of debt, even if he ended up accidentally time travelling.
And while False never uploaded her finale, we can easily infer that she continued to expand her empire and make her name for herself.
Who did I miss?
Sheriff Jimmy.
The sheriff, who all the other emperors abandoned. The sheriff, nearly loosing his own identity to a joke. The sheriff, who lost his town to the fae.
Let's not forget Jimmy never left tumble town willingly. He was booted out when the fae corrupted his lands, spreading it throughout his home. He and the old sheriff, Roswell, made the best of a bad situation. I mean, what else can they do? Fight the fae? Fae are powerful creature. Not to be messed with. Fighting them is a one-way ticket to death if they don't decide to hold you a prisoner in their realm.
Jimmy also never got the chance to say goodbye to anyone. Everyone had already left him behind. Joel had accended without saying goodbye to his supposed best bud. Sausage never thought to check in on tumble town. There was no final passing of wordsโ€”just a note from Fwhip.
And, let's not forget this big bit of information, the thing that still grinds my gears about empires season 2. He is the only villain of season 2 who got no closure, redemption or apology. Shelby was uncorrupted and saved. Sausage supreme was fused into Sausages soul. Skeletron was killed by Katherine, Joey and Shelby. They all got an end to their villainy, wether through being saved or killed.
Jimmy got nothing.
His ending was, in multiple ways, left unfinished. He was still bitter towards the emperors. He was still lacking any human respect. He wasn't given any apology or forgiveness. He was forced out of his home by powerful creatures, trying his best to make good of the darkness left to him.
But it's not all darkness. This isn't a bad ending. I think this end has an underlying subtext not even Jimmy planned for. Something I've seen almost no one talking about.
The sheriff walked away from a toxic environment.
Now is an excellent time to remind you that this is all about the characters. Not the actual content creators. Got it? Good.
Let's be honest. None of the characters in Empires Season 2 were 100% innocent besides maybe Katherine. Some were thieves. Some were filled with pride, some made dubious choices, and some were even a little corrupt. And Jimmy isn't an exception. He was a lil bit dishonest with power sometimes and a lil bit prideful in his name. But the sheriff wasn't evil at first. He still did things to help people. He helped Katherine arrest Joey for theft. He did his best to follow the rules, and he actively sought to stop those committing crimes and try to understand the issue at hand, like with Shelby. And his reward. Constant teasing and mockery.
Everyone, including his allies, still made fun of him. Even his best bud said things behind his back. And this is what made him snap. Not the jokes, but that no one, not even his allies, seemed to show any human decency to him.
And he never got an apology or a moment to put them in their place to tell them that they have done goofed. The sheriff was barely given a chance to build, hardly a chance to breathe. He knows he probably couldn't take them in a fight, but they didn't even give him a chance to talk. They made him sit there and take it like he had no choice.
The sheriff instead chose to walk away. Everyone had left him behind. And with the threat of the fae above him, he decided that the best course of action was to leave the toxic lands behind. Lands full of pranks and mistakes that would only ever remind him of his negative attributes.
The sheriff stayed with the one person who ever showed him any sliver of true friendship๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝthe old sheriff. The old sheriff helped reverse the effects of the lore potion with an unnamed potion he found at Shelbys. He helped Jimmy defend the town from a raid. He stayed with him through thick and thin. Sure, he isn't the best influence, but he's better than the world around them.
Ultimately, Jimmy's finale wasn't the good ending like everyone else's. Villains rarely ever get those. Instead, it's a bittersweet goodbye from the two sheriffs off to find a new home far away to the lands of one that brought sorrow, even if at least one of them has some anger issues to work through.

Thinking about an AU where the deepslate redstone corruption is the same as Exor's corruption, so instead of Xornoth being Scott's forgotten brother, fWhip gets to do his evil arc and it's a full on jekyll and hyde situation.

My Count fWhipula headcanons since y'all seem to like my ideas and I wanna infodump about my blorbo
As previously mentioned, fWhip is only half vampire (a Dhampir) but, due to genetics, inherited all the vampire traits from his father and none of the human ones from his mother. So, for the sake of readability, I will continue to refer to him as a vampire, since he is no different from a pure breed one.
Anyway, at a young age, Gem made fWhip a necklace enchanted with an altered version of fire protection to protect him from the sun. fWhip keeps that necklace hidden under his clothes, both for the literal protection it grants him and for the sentimentality of it.
fWhip knew when Sausage was fully corrupted when he purposefully stole that necklace; ripped it right off his neck and watched as fWhip began burning up.
Taking some inspiration from the Sims 4, I think Vampires have two forms: a more human-looking appearance minus some telltale vampiric signs (fangs, deathly appearance, etc) and a "dark form" (their true face) which in my mind looks like a grotesque humanoid bat monster. It's also my way of combining old gothic horror views around Vampires as these unholy ugly monsters with the modern twilight views of Vampires as hot.
This isn't to replace the classic bat form, though! fWhip can turn into a little vampire bat too, as a treat ๐Ÿ˜Œ
fWhip stays in his more human-looking form most of the time, the switch between them can be painful and while the True Face has its benefits (e.g. typical Vampiric strength and speed), it's not enough for him to want to switch regularly.
In the past, he has used his True Face to scare off bullies picking on Gem. Even if the switch is completely voluntary, Vampires don't always retain their sentience when changed and other people are very aware of that fact.
Also, Vampires involuntarily switch to their True Faces on blood moons, so about 2-4 times every year. I just think it'd be funny if Vampires and Werewolves had something in common when they're so often pitted against each other.
Usually, when that happens, fWhip goes to hang out with Gem in the Cliffs. I like to think he turns into a massively oversized puppy during the whole thing, so he's just super clingy to his siblings throughout it.
The only other time a vampire is forced to switch to their True Face is when they are starved of blood for too long.
Vampires can't cross running water, which makes trips to places like the Codlands a bit painful. It's also not helped by the fact only fWhips' immediate family is aware of his vampiric nature.
The other emperors learn about his Vampirism after the whole Xornoth debacle. Completely coincidentally and not at all related, bridges and other structures across running water seem to pop up randomly around the realm.
Another problem for Vampires is being unable to enter if not invited, it's usually not a problem if Gem or his other siblings go inside and then "invite him inside", but there's been some very awkward instances with friends Jimmy where they say he's always welcome and fWhip has to (as politely as he can) demand they specifically say he's invited in...
The whole curse just works like a lock that needs the words "you're invited in" or any variation to be "unlocked".
If livestock isn't enough to satiate fWhips' hunger, he may drink from criminals locked away in the Grimlands' prisons. Not like petty thieves or whatever, those who deserve to have their blood periodically drunk.
I think fWhip could also teleport very short distances through shadows, useful for when he's hopping from the forge to his office but not so if he needs to leave the grimlands, or even go from one end to the other.
Yes, because fWhip's a vampire to me that does mean his wings are big bat wings to me as well.

thinking about sausage falling asleep at inopportune times and the wra letting him rest
Between ptsd nightmares, weird spirit realm visions, and trauma-driven irrational fear, Sausage finds it very hard to get a decent amount of sleep. The first time Gem caught him nodding off in a meeting, she kicked him under the table to keep him alert, used her best diplomacy skills on the people they were meeting with, and then tore into him afterwards about public image and respect and really, sausage, you know you can't afford to slight people like that right now, not after what you did.
That's when she learns that he's gotten only about five hours of sleep in the past two nights and that that's not that out of the ordinary for him, nowdays. (She can tell he's a little bit teary-eyed. It stings, to know she almost made him cry. She tries her best not to think about it).
Gem passes the knowledge off to fWhip, who knows his way around pulling an all-nighter or two. (Gem does as well, but she likes to pretend she's above that and more responsible and has a normal healthy sleep schedule all the time). He takes to setting up diplomatic discussions where it's harder to fall asleep - a walk though the gardens instead of sitting around a table does wonders, as long as there aren't any documents to deal with.
When it's just them, though, when fWhip is tossing around ideas for rebuilding what the corruption has destroyed and Gem is pouring over maps, it's different. They let Sausage lean on the table and rest his head on his crossed arms, and then when he starts softly snoring, Gem starts writing her notes in more detail so he can read over them later. And when they're hanging out and find he's passed out curled up on the couch, snuggled into a throw pillow, fWhip drapes a blanket over him. They know he needs the rest. They let him have it when they can.
