The White House just announced that President Biden has contacted COVID. I wish him a speedy and complete recovery. Because the President has been fully vaccinated (and because he has access to levels of health care few of the rest of us enjoy), he is likely to be well again soon. But even a mild or asymptomatic case can lead to Long-COVID, and we should be protecting ourselves and each other from catching this corona virus and possibly developing a permanent, debilitating condition.
Apoorva Mandavilli, writing for the _New YorkTimes_, reminds us that “for some people with certain risk factors — age, pregnancy, chronic conditions or a compromised immune system — an infection may bring serious illness.”1
If you want to know what it’s like to live with a post-viral chronic illness, read the Tumblrs of people enduring them (see the tags below), particularly those of us living with myalgic encephalomyelitis (me/cfs), the condition closely aligned with Long-COVID. (“The illness [Long COVID] is similar to myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome [ME/CFS] as well as to persisting illnesses that can follow a wide variety of other infectious agents and following major traumatic injury.”2) And while some of us are more susceptible than others, ANYONE, no matter how young and healthy, can develop Long-haul COVID:
“Long COVID occurs more often in people who had severe COVID-19 illness, but anyone who gets COVID-19 can experience it, including children.”3
The CDC article also highlights the way that “Living with Long COVID can be difficult and isolating, especially when there are no immediate answers or solutions.” It does not describe the devastating possible “side effects” of losing the ability to work, to enjoy activities, to be independent, nor of the experiences of having doctors refuse to believe one’s condition is real, of the near-impossibility of getting to a doctor who specializes in post-viral diseases (and who won’t accept insurance)4, nor of the feeling of being an inconvenience or burden to those who care for us.
“In every age group, even a mild illness may trigger a lasting set of problems. Nearly 14 million Americans, or about 5.3 percent of adults, may now be living with long Covid, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”1
Wearing an N95 might not be the most comfortable fashion accessory, but putting one on when we will be among others can save lives and the meaningful existence of the people with whom we come in contact. The inconvenience is far less than the loss of income, health, and happiness Long-COVID can bring.

Could you write a fic where Beckett has been sick for a bit and keeps insisting it’s a cold before Castle forces her to take a Covid test preferably pre-couple pretty pleaseeee🙏🏼
pre-couple but covid, idk what time machine shenanigans would go on for that, so i made it tried-to-be-a-couple didn't-work might-try-again-any-day. you might not be looking for that. but here you go:
What started innocently enough soon turned vicious: from a tickle to a hellacious barking, sniffing when she drank a freshly made cup of espresso to vampire sneezing explosively in rapid succession.
Every eyebrow in the bullpen went up. Every eye turned her way, suspicious and damning.
She seemed to notice her audience, turned to him instead, glaring as she spat, "It's not covid!"
"Uh-huh," he answered. Both hands raised in surrender.
But they all knew.
(Well, they all suspected, because it was 2022, and they were midway through boosters and Delta/Omicron and Great Flu Resurgence and some of the beat officers were getting RSV on top of that and then a stomach flu went around when the masks came off in the precinct, and really, coughing and sneezing and a scratchy voice—what else could it be?)
No one was immune to the suspicion, just as no one was immune to covid but in the window of time afforded to one by the life of the vaccine or a previous bout with the novel corona virus, and well, everyone had their own story to tell, much like after 9/11 when that was the first thing people talked about in the street or meeting for a drink, where were you, only now it was how many of your family died or how long were you laid up?
Rick Castle cornered her (not too closely, no; he knew she was contagious and he didn't want his mother getting it, vaccinated or not) in the parking garage of the Twelfth before she could ride up to Homicide.
"It's not covid," she hissed, before he could even speak.
"So take a test," he answered easily. "Put our minds at ease."
"I did. I have. I've taken three," she hissed.
If he stepped back to avoid whatever sprayed from her hissing, could you blame him? "This morning? Before the call about the body?"
"Last night," she said. A grudging hesitation. "It was negative last night."
"Okay, then maybe go to the City clinic," he said amicably. "Could be strep." Or whooping cough.
"I don't feel bad, no body aches, no fever—"
"Alexis got strep every winter until she was thirteen. That year, no strep! We joked she'd grown out of it. But then her best friend, after every sleepover, would mysteriously come down with strep and Alexis wouldn't. Friend's mom made me take her in and get tested. Sure enough, she was asymptomatic."
"It's not strep," Beckett answered. Scathingly, but she was the Captain, and she did often push him aside when she needed to get going and he was being difficult.
(Busy woman, the Captain of the Twelfth. He was often being difficult, considering he wouldn't quit her and she wouldn't commit to him.
But she wasn't wrong, since she had a press conference to get to and a Homicide division to micro-manage. Whoops, did he say micro-manage? He was being mean. In his own head. To the woman of his dreams/nightmares.
Theirs was often a love-hate relationship these days.)
He kept silent, rode the elevator up with her. He made her a cup of espresso in the break room while she prepped for the press conference. Granted, he was rushing to get it ready—coffee was still their love language, despite the bumps in their road—but when she took a sip and her face blanched, he knew.
"Ahem. Funny taste?"
"It's not covid, Castle."
At the press conference, she was in the middle of her rundown on the DB—okay, yes, Castle should have been listening but the guy had been a jackass member of City Council who had tried to get her fired—and her voice cracked.
She cleared her throat. Coughed delicately into her fist. Tried again.
Her voice broke like fine porcelain in the hands of underpaid movers, and the first question from the press was, Are you coming down with something?
She steadfastly refused to look at him. Deny deny deny, and she was getting good at it, as the Captain of the Twelfth, had to give her that.
He was home that night working on book edits—he was giving Nikki Heat a vicious bout of covid, laying her up in her apartment, when a murderer comes to call—when his phone vibrated off his desk and dropped to the floor.
Her face the ID. From that ill-fated night in his bed. She had changed it twice before he'd discovered a passcode to his phone she couldn't guess/wheedle from his mother. Even now, it filled with him a melange of dread and sweetness, terror and tenderness.
"Captain Beckett, you rang?"
"Castle—"
"You sound awf—"
"I have covid."
"I know," he murmured, rising to his feet. "I bought chicken soup from the Czech deli on my way home, and I have a guy on speed dial who can prescribe you paxlovid."
"The drug? I heard it gives you rebound covid."
"That's not because of the drug," he told her, gathering his keys and wallet, his jacket. "It's just a thing some people get, treatment or no."
"Okay," she croaked. "Get me drugs."
"I'll be right there."
He arrived forty-seven minutes later with the prescription, chicken soup, a package of KN95s, his laptop, and a determination he'd not felt since that botched night.
She took it all.
She wore the mask, laid on the couch in the living room with her face to a satin pillow, her eyes slitted like a cat, and watched him make edits on the book.
"Did you give her covid?" she rasped.
"Yes."
She didn't answer. Merely watched him.
He submitted his first round of edits and made her a bowl of soup, wore his own mask but wouldn't isolate from her as she sipped the broth. Her throat worked as if each swallow was pain. Her eyes had dark rings, bruised-looking, and her hair was limp. She coughed and they both flinched.
He fished a water with electrolytes from his bag of provisions, opened it for her because her fingers looked fragile. She drank. She eyed him.
She fell asleep with the bowl against her chest, half drunk. He took it from her, put the water on the floor close at hand, couldn't resist pushing the hair back behind her ear.
He bent low. Held his breath for an instant before he confessed: "I didn't want to. But. I still love you."

BGM: R.E.M. - Why Not Smile
At this lunchtime, I checked Facebook and found that a Russian friend Victoria was referring to me. She was talking about the sense of humor, the power of smiling. It was really "once in a blue moon", and also really like a grateful response for me. Really thankful... And I thought "Why? Why this can happen?" and "What is this real world which offers such a grateful event like this?". 10 years ago, I could never imaging this would happen in my life, my future. I sobbed a little because of happiness. Some would say that MEN like me shouldn't show their tears in public, but please "leave me/us alone". I want to sob, so let me do so... I have survived really, truly hard periods/eras until now. Being bullied in schools, being treated as an alien/creature, being suffered from alcoholic... The days I even thought like "I wanna end this life". But I have lived through those events... Some people are really sweet for me. I can feel that my server on Discord also has really nice members. What a wonderful world/life.
Victoria asked us this question. "Looking backwards, do u feel that your sense of humour change?". I want to answer this. When I was a child, I was into a Japanese legendary comedy group Drifters. The style of Drifters was, in my opinion, "nudging/teasing strong people", not "dissing/hurting weak people". They have made various simulations as schools, companies, and any other groups. The leader of Drifters, Chousuke Ikariya, acted/pretended as a brutal leader (the teacher/boss/leader etc), and other four members tried to nudge/tease him humorously. I dislike harassment jokes/comedies. Indeed, we might be able to make smile/laugh when we see that kind of harassment which hurts someone's inferiority complex. But it also recall me of the past traumatic days. The days/period when I had to surrender by many classmates in a classroom. I was almost "pressed" by it. Therefore, I can't enjoy the current Japanese comedies because it is a little bit homosocial for me (but the quality of modern Japanese comedies are so great).
TBH during my work of today, I suddenly thought "what would I do if today were the end of my life?". Yes, if it were the end of everything... Then I felt the emotion of "I wanna live more". I want to live and do more. I have never achieved/realized the dream of becoming a bridge person. And I have more books and people to encounter... TBH once I believed that "I can end this life anytime, any moment". "If I wanna end this life, it's OK. Because my life is mine, not anyone's. I can control/manage my life my own freely". But now, I think like this. My life, my existence is not only my things, but also other people's things. They care my life, my existence. If I threw my life freely/violently, it would mean I am an egoistic person. I have been connected/supported by many people (For example, our server "World's End Pharmacy" on Discord has 100 members). I am co-working with other friends who are helping/supporting my life, my existence. I am not only mine... Yes, it would sound a little bit tautological. But this idea helps me not to hurt myself anymore.
After today's work, this evening I had a meeting on ZOOM. We talked about "what are the things for you which has changed 360 degrees by corona?". During this corona period, I started using this ZOOM. Now I can enjoy various meetings at various place on that ZOOM. It is one of the big changes for me. But also I say that I have never worked at remote during that period because I am an "essential worker". The workstyle of mine has not been changed by that... I talked about that. I also think about the struggle of vaccination. Yes, I had wondered walking/struggling within huge confusion of rumors as "vaccine lets you die soon" and "we/they can't say it must be safe". I had read a lot of pieces of conspiracy stories about vaccination. How can I manage myself as a calm, sane person? If I am normal for you, then that is because of YOU. YOU support me a lot by reading this journal and more... I want to say thank you. I slept soon because I had to work early, and also attended that meeting. I wanted to attend Victoria's meeting on ZOOM which was held AFTER that "360 degrees" meeting. SEE YOU NEXT TIME!

// some antivax 'nurse' is being dumb
someone just followed me on tiktok and i checked their pfp bc who tf is following me on my personal yk ? and one of their two videos is
"i have a question, as a nurse when people say 'the unvaxxed are a risk to the vaxxd' doesnt that mean you dont believe in vaccines ? if the unvaxxed are the ones causing the risk to the vaxxed that tells me you dont believe in vaccines"
and its taking everything in my will power to not go off in her comments
like,, as a mother of 5 and a nurse you should know better than that stupid argument thats poorly twisted to fit ur narrative
the answer: the vaccine doesnt make you immune to the corona virus it just lessens the effects, makes you less prone to catching it (you still can tho) and lessens the chance that you'll die if you get the virus as opposed to nonvaxxed people. it also reduces the spread from you to other people. thats not saying it doesnt work, its saying that it does work in reducing the risk of you and other people to the exposure of covid
#the caption is 'ig as a nurse im confused' like why dyou keep reiterating ur a nurse bc im starting to think you arent one lmfao#i will be blocking her bc i dont need that energy#she said it very matter-of-factly lol it wasnt really a genuine question otherwise i wouldnt be making this#oh i just realized my name on there was 'GET VACCINATED' lol no wonder she followed me (her whole following list are antivaxers)#she either follows ppl with 'get vaccinated' in their bios or ppl with like 'unvaccinated' in their username lol who tf is this woman

Imagine corona is like an exam and vaccine is questions-and-answers-sheet. And you are allowed to take it if you want. Who on earth does not want these questions and answers?
There are always people who get an exam done without any preparation and there are always people who will fail even with preparation, but mostly there are people who do better with preparation. So, grab your questions-and-answers-sheet, cause in the end we all are going to take this covid exam.

LETS GOOOOOOO
I was tagged by the love of my mOTHER FUCKING LIFE @shimichoko to do the 20 questions thingie! (and damn right i know you well you thresh fucker ;)))))
🌼 what do you prefer to be called name-wise?
Mmmm. That’s a bit of a tricky question. When I’m feeling like a girl, then Josephine or Josie (only if you’re irl-level familiar with me), but Haru works for all genders that my head’s roulette wheel throws at me.
🌼 when is your birthday?
January 7, 2000! :)
🌼 where do you live?
Germany. Specifically a city that is big but also known for crawling with uh. N*z*s. It was not my choice to live here.
🌼 three things you’re doing right now?
Eating rice, talking to my love, and listening to music.
🌼 four fandoms that have piqued your interest right now?
ahhhhh fuck. well- DC. Always. I get hyperfixated on other things, but I always somehow find my way back to DC. What else. Vanitas No Carte, the extremely h*rny vampire anime. (it’s so good watch it) Mmm BnHA. I can’t wait for the next episode and I know I will cry. Like, really, really hard. And JoJo! :) I’m addicted to JoJo god help me-
🌼 how is the pandemic treating you?
Well- I’ll get vaccinated soon hopefully. I already got Corona one time, back in December 2020. I didn’t get to be tested because I had boomer relatives who held me back from it and didn’t let me go because they didn’t want to quarantine even though they could barely get out of bed. But, I got a blood test, and I’ve got the antibodies, so I know it’s corona that I had. And now I live alone, so no more having to listen to conspiracies about how I’ll turn into a 5G tower and die of mind control chip implanting complications. :)
🌼 song you can’t stop listening to right now?
Rain Grandson Suicide Squad TM.
🌼 recommend a movie
you all know what im about to say you all know you all- SUICIDE SQUAD 2021 LETS GOOOOOOOO-
🌼 how old are you?
21
🌼 school, university, occupation, other?
ahhhhh unemployed but getting a proper education
🌼 do you prefer hot or cold?
do you really want to ask me that. do you really. i hate both.
🌼 name one fact others may not know about you.
Well- I have a thing called Sjögren’s which basically means my body doesn’t absorb enough water and the water I take in rattles through my system without being properly processed. So I have dry eyes, dry lips, dry skin, and I go to the bathroom a hella lot. I also have weak muscles because of that.
🌼 are you shy?
depends. around friends and people i’m comfy with? never. when i’m around the general public? always.
🌼 do you have any preferred pronouns?
you will get a different answer every other day that you ask me, but right now it’s she/they.
🌼 any pet peeves?
well. i hate people that are insensitive and non understanding. i hate talking to them.
🌼 what’s your favourite “dere” type?
tsundere like my gf. ;))))) @shimichoko
🌼 rate your life 1-10. 1 being really crappy and 10 being the best you could ever be.
eeehhhhmmmmmm i’d say 7. if i didn’t have @shimichoko and all my friends it would be a solid fucking 0. LMAO-
🌼 what’s your main blog?
this one.
🌼 list your side blogs and what they’re used for.
n/a
🌼 is there anything you think people need to know about you before becoming friends with you?
i am a massive fucking simp and will constantly scream my love for my current hyperfixation from the rooftops, and i am very loud and dumb and crazy when i become comfortable with you.
I’m gonna taaaaaaaaaaaaag uhhhhhhhhhhhh @fizzydasoda and uhhh @phantomhive-shadow and @write-the-love-story and yes. boom.
Signin’ out. :)

When the Corona virus enters the body, the immune system recognizes the invader on the basis of the spike protein antigen and destroys the virus or the cells that have already been infected by the virus. With the mRNA corona “vaccination”, body cells are for the first time in history deliberately and genetically programmed by means of the mRNA to produce the spike protein as a (foreign) antigen on the cell surface, although they are completely healthy and not infected with the virus. The mechanism of action of the corona “vaccination” is to falsely mark healthy cells as foreign. As a consequence, the immune system reacts immediately; it recognizes the antigen as foreign, forms antibodies against it and destroys the spike protein by destroying the cell that carries this spike protein. [1,2]. This means that the corona “vaccination” fools our immune system and tricks it into attacking and destroying our own healthy cells. In the military it is this is called ‘friendly fire’ when soldiers attack their own troops. This represents a fundamental danger not only for our health but also to our survival. We know this situation with the rarely occurring autoimmune diseases. These are usually severe and can even be fatal.
The answer to this question can be found, among others, in animal experiments by the vaccine manufacturer BionTech/Pfizer. The spike protein blueprint is found in a gene segment, the so-called mRNA, and is embedded in very small spheres of fat, the so-called lipid nanoparticles. After 1 hour, half of them were already distributed throughout the body. The lipid nano-particles were detected in all organs in the above-mentioned animal experiment, especially in the liver. They were also detected in the brain, which proves they were able to cross the blood-brain barrier. They were also detected in the ovaries and testes. This means the body’s cells form the spike protein in the respective organs, which probably explains why the very numerous side effects and vaccine damage are also found randomly distributed in many organs. [6,7,8]. Since the lipid nanoparticles are distributed in the blood, especially the so-called endothelial cells get affected.[9] This explains the numerous blood clots (thromboses or embolisms) observed as a result of the Corona “vaccination”. These also occur in the brain, among other places, and lead to partially irreversible damage. This is particularly worrying because it shows that even those organs that are separated from the immune system by a special barrier are now vulnerable.

I have been trying for a while now to get my nursing degree. During my first year, I failed a placement, which happens, and the university will then assess your mentors reasons for failing you. Then they will usually either offer you extra lessons in the area you are struggling with, see if there is some support they can offer, or simply check you have learned from your mistake. Then you get to retry the placement (though not necessarily in the same area).
In my case however, a query was raised about my memory, and the possibility of me being neurodivergant. I already had a diagnosis of dyspraxia, but there was also a question of whether I have ADHD and/or ASD. The university requested I take a leave of absence to get assessed, especially for the ADHD, as occupational health had already screened me as likely to have both.
Fair enough, I agreed after it was explained to me that regardless of the results of the assessment they would be happy to have me back. The idea of me taking the time off to do it was so I could come back with a diagnosis, appropriately medicated, and with the university able to offer me the ajustments I need, rather than doing all my placements on hard mode. In fact, the head of the masters course told me I had better come back, since she wanted me to do the integrated masters (which I was on track for).
So I took the absence, and got my ADHD diagnosis. I also gained an orthostatic hypotension diagnosis while I was at it. Both had started being treated, and I had a better support structure in place, including my syncope nurse and ADHD specialist nurse being very supportive of both my health and career choice. Which is nice.
I planned to go back to the course in the middle of the year, as I had completed all my exams and assignments, and just needed to do 2 placements. No need to pay for a full year for that right? So I arranged to go back, in March of 2020.
Yep.
Right as Corona was hitting the UK properly.
And I was going into nursing placements.
With an immunosupressed husband at home.
Lol nope.
Everything was ready for me to go back, and it was 2 weeks before my new start date, but this was a problem. I spoke to the university, and asked if it was a good idea, or even safe for me to come back in these circumstances. Admin and student support weren't sure, but were dubious. My lecturers however are all nurses, and knew what was actually going on and what was likely to happen. So they had a conversation, and invited me and a medic lecturer who specialised in immunology, to see if we could brainstorm a way for me to return without endangering my husband. The short answer was I could if either I could live separately from him or my home was 3x bigger than it is. Not feasible.
So I take another leave of absence. I took a year, because surely this would be under control by then?
(It really could have been, if people had been less selfish, and if governments had been 500% less shite)
So March rolls around again. I start talking to the university again in the beginning of the year, and making all the arrangements I need. Yeah the covid situation is still bad, but at least it's a known factor now. Husband is vaccinated, and I will be vaccinated as soon as I get back, because healthcare worker. All is on track, yay!
Except.
It's been 2 years.
In that time there has been a new standard for nursing education released.
So not only have I been away for a while, but the course itself has changed. I've read the new standards, there are some quite big changes in there. Newly qualified nurses now have to be where previous nurses would be 3 or more years after qualifying. This is actually a good change, and one I am more than in favour of.
What this means for me though, is that I am now very, very behind. The solution? More leave of absence! I now get to completely restart my degree. The university is helping me sort funding on the grounds of covid absence, so theres that at least, but those assignments and exams I wouldn't need to repeat? The placement I had passed? Gotta redo them.
In a lot of ways it's a good thing. I get a second chance with the areas I didn't do so well at, and have the advantage of having learned some of what I need already. It means I wont be playing catch up. Even so, it's a lot. It means I will be finishing my degree in my 40s. It means my previous efforts cant be recognised. It means I'm still stuck in a holding pattern.
I've asked myself if the universe is sending me a message. If all this means I'm not supposed to be a nurse. If maybe I'm just terrible at it, and should have taken the hint from the failed placement.
Instead I'm choosing to see myself as the protagonist of my story. I got kicked down, I made mistakes, I now get to learn from them and do better. I don't just want to be a nurse, I want to be a great nurse, and I can't do that without putting the work in.
It's not easy, but I wouldn't have chosen nursing if I wanted easy.
#actually dyspraxic#adult adhd#actually adhd#I think I just really needed to get this all out#Originally it was just going to be me bitching about the extra time off#I'm glad I could sneak some positivity in there#university#student nurse#nursing student#adult dyspraxic#long post

How Christians can be easily fooled by conspiracy theories
INTRODUCTION
“The Coronavirus is not just making people sick, it’s also making people stupid”
That was the opening line from the Malaysian comedian Ronny Chieng, starting his episode about the Coronavirus pandemic and its effects on our everyday life.
And even if the sentence sounds harsh and judgemental, I have unfortunately to say, that he is right.
With the threat of the pandemics and the quarantine measures limiting our movements, most people live at home and a in a constant psychosis, sharing all possible conspiracy theories on the social media.
And unfortunately, Christians are not immune to conspiracy theories, actually gullibility is very much present in some denominations.
CHRISTIANITY AND GULLIBILITY
But did I say that we Christian are easily gullible? Off course no, but I need to say that most of them are, especially in these days.
This happens because most of them, especially Fundamentalists evangelicals, read the Bible in a sort of “extreme way”, without understanding and throwing away all the things they learned.
And this goes back to my last year blog where I wrote about the Abecedarians and the Chick Tracts and their common thread of blind faith.
One big example is the misuse of the Book Of Revelation in two different wrong ways:
1. CORONAVIRUS: PUNISHMENT FROM GOD ?
This is the first mistake. In some denominations ( or better to say, SECTS ), there’s this idea that the pandemic was sent by God as a punishment against abortion, homosexuality and so on, this also based about the stories on the old testament.
Well I am not a theology expert, but according also to the evangelist Tom Loud if the coronavirus was from God, He surely would be a vengeful bombardier without mercy, a completely different version of Him.
Then comes also three big questions:
If the coronavirus was from God so what about Black Plague, Spanish Fever, SARS or Ebola?
If it’s a punishment against abortion, homosexuality and so on, why didn’t He spare also conservative nations like f.e. Poland, Hungary, Brazil or the “Nation Under God” USA?
What about all the closed churches for the quarantine ? Is it God’s will too?
So before saying that Corona is God’s punishment, try to answer these questions.
2.CORONAVIRUS: END TIMES SIGN
This is also the second mistake, similar to the first but also more dangerous.
As I wrote two years ago in my post about the psycho cults there’s a sort of infuriating emphasis on the end times prophecies, and this emphasis sometimes lead to deviated and distorted reality thoughts , just like conspiracy theories ( like NWO, Mark of the Beast and so on.. ) or, in the worst of the cases, delusions of persecution like this.
The pandemic has highlighted a lot these “end times” stuff, and a lot of opportunists and deranged gurus have taken advantage of their feeble-minded followers. Same situation that happened in the ’80s and ’90s with the Satanic Panic, where con-artist like Bob Larson or Rebecca Brown were hailed as heroes.
USA: BETWEEN THREAT AND QUACKERY
But let’s go to USA, the “Nation Under God”, but especially under president Trump, who not only cut the funds to the WHO, but is going also to fire Anthony Fauci, the virologist who’s making a great job in the fight against the CoViD.
And this is just the peak of Trump’s series of mistakes against the virus, while USA is right now the country with the highest number of contagions and deaths by coronavirus.
And it’s really sad to see how still many evangelicals still say that he’s always right. But after all evangelical christianity in USA has become a circus, where there are “prophets and clowns”
Exactly, PROPHETS AND CLOWNS, like our song says. And some clear examples are:
Shawn Bolz, a self-proclaimed prophets who said in a gathering that “God showed him the end of the virus”, and it was the beginning of March, now we are on 16th of April and the situation is going from bad to worse.
Kenneth Copeland, the prosperity preacher, who tried to stop the virus with a prayer that looked more like a charade.
Rodney Howard-Browne, the head of River Church and well known conspiracy theorist, who got a warrant for violating the quarantine measures. It’s such funny how his followers blabber about “persecution” when he almost put a lot of people at risk hosting a gathering, if we think what happened in France last month.
Jim Bakker, the controversial televangelist who claims silver solution as remedy against coronavirus
QAnon, the conspiracy psycho-sect, who promoted MMS, the pseudo-medicine containing bleach
Last but not least, this guy in sackcloth, wandering and preaching around the empty quarantined American metropolises
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYgc_dIuhYo&ab_channel=TorchofChristMinistries
FINLAND: THE PETRI PAAVOLA CASE
Unfortunately also Finland is not immune neither from coronavirus, nor from conspiracy theorist.
And unfortunately, as I wrote before, Christians are not immune. The most obvious example is Petri Paavola, the anti-catholic liar upon whom I wrote almost two years ago.
At the end of March mister Paavola hold a service for few people because of the quarantine measures, and all the service was a complete concentration of persecution complexes and conspiracy craps.
He said, during his “service”, that coronavirus was created by Bill Gates to create new mass vaccination’s program, I really don’t know if laughing or vomiting in half of such idiocy, buy anyway here’s the parody.
Is Paavola completely deranged or is he just a liar ? Well it could be both of them, but what it’s worse is that he claims to have received a “revelation from God” about all that quackery. And obviously gullible followers believe him easily, like for example the author of this comment
For the non-Finnish speakers the translation is:
“thanks for the clear facts about what the elites do behind us. 5G and Coronavirus wortk together. Don’t take neither vaccine nor 5G”
Yes, because in the middle of this conspiracy psychosis, the 5G is nowadays one of the most popular theme and someone, like the crackhead who commented, believes even that 5G causes coronavirus.
It could sound funny but unfortunately is not, as in England, just weeks ago, some cell towers were set on fire because of this psychosis.
A LIGHT INTO THE DARKNESS
Thank God that into this marasma of darkness there’s always the light.
One example is this great article from ChristianityToday, written by Ed Stetzer, and I absolutely like to quote the first part of this article.
A major crisis provides a fertile field for producing conspiracy theories, and the current global pandemic has created a bumper crop of them.
One of the sad things that I’ve learned over time is how Christians are disproportionately fooled by conspiracy theories. I’ve also said before that when Christians spread lies, they need to repent of those lies. Sharing fake news makes us look foolish and harms our witness.
We saw this in the last election when some of the troll factories focused on conservative, evangelical Christians. This is disappointing. Now we are seeing it again. So how do we respond?
First, we need to speak up and speak out to others— particularly those fooled yet again— and lovingly say, “You need to go to trusted sources.” Your social media news feed is not a trusted source.
But you can find them if you are willing to look. That’s why we created coronavirusandthechurch.com, to provide credible information for churches. But, there are plenty of credible news sources— generally from outlets that do not have a track record of conspiracy peddling.
Second, God has not called us to be easily fooled. Gullibility is not a Christian virtue, and we ought not to act like that. Believing and sharing Covid-19 conspiracies does not honor the Lord.
Yet now, it appears we are dealing with a new flood of conspiracy theories. Take a look at the list on Wikipedia, or just search for yourself using a few keywords.
No one is born “hyper-intelligent” but someone needs to speak out.
N.B: That was written almost one year ago in my blog, now I repost it as the situation seems not to change

THE KAG ’WAY’

Through the infamous path trudged by the honorable CS Mutahi Kagwe.
Our great cabinet secretary for health, Mutahi Kagwe’s journey is filled with scandals, corruptions, controversies and deceit.
Although the obstacles and challenges before him are numerous, if there is money involved, there is Kagwe to fill in his pockets. Because that’s the kag ‘way’. And if there is a will, there is a Kag ’way’.
The first covid-19 case was reported in Kenya on March 12th of 2020. But little did we know that we’ve already been infected with an even more deadlier virus in February.
On February 28 2020, Kagwe was appointed cabinet secretary for health and we were doomed.
When covid-19 struck Kenya, Kagwe went straight into action. Well, not the kind of action that one would expect. Where everybody saw catastrophe, Kagwe saw an opportunity, an opportunity for corruption.
Kenya was donated 1.3bn shillings by the world bank for dealing with the corona virus pandemic. Enter Kagwe, and money went Houdini.
The breakdown of the money spent was reported by Kagwe as follows,
42m Ksh to lease ambulances
4m on snacks and Tea
2m for mobile phone airtime
And 70m on Communication
It was reported that 15 ambulances were leased, At least we Kenyans were not dumb enough as Kagwe and asked “Why lease 15 ambulances at that amount instead of just purchasing new ambulances or using the existing fleet”?
But the real question is, was Kagwe dumb or was he acting dumb to use light fingers and slip the money into his own pockets?
And what was the motive behind allocating 2m shillings for mobile phone airtime when telecommunications company Safaricom had offered officials involved in the fight against the virus a free package?
And if that wasn’t enough, why was there a need to allocate 70m Ksh for communication when media houses had already contributed to airtime for coronavirus-related news updates?
Alas, only Kagwe knows the answers to these ‘WHYs’, Because that’s the Kag ‘way’.
Subsequently, all of this went on to be branded under the hashtag moneyheist.
While the world watched the popular Netflix show Money Heist season 4 which aired on April 2020, in which the despicable character ‘Gandía’ killed one of the main protagonists ‘Nairobi’. Ironically, Kenyans saw Kagwe killing off not just Nairobi but the whole of Kenya health sector, bit by bit.
This was, of course, a foreshadow of the events that was about to occur.
A more of a same thing happened during the KEMSA scandal.
KEMSA was litigated over the allegations on government officials and businessmen of mugging the $400m of public money meant for medical equipment to be used the fight against coronavirus.
The medical staff dealing with coronavirus patients in the frontline, complained about the quality of supplies, with some posting images online of defective personal protective equipment sent to emergency rooms across the country.
It was also found that PPE supplies donated by Chinese billionaire and Alibaba founder Jack went missing and had not reached Kenya, instead it was diverted in Ethiopia and had reached Addis Ababa.
When everything was said and done, the blame was on Jonah Manjari, the CEO of KEMSA.
But later, Manjari came an unfolded the events behind the screen. he claimed that he was under pressure by Kagwe to agree on contracts in which the prices charged by the suppliers were higher than what was in the markets.
Kagwe however, showed his true colors, shook off the dirt on his shirt and turned the coat on KEMSA and Manjari by saying “I have never been to KEMSA”. Because that’s the Kag‘way’ of eluding scandals.
When vaccines became the need of the hour in Kenya as much as in the rest of the world, private sales of vaccines were banned, Kagwe claimed that this would create confusion and could prove to be dangerous.
But when the shortage of vaccines affected Kenya, Kagwe was looking up to the skies. He clearly banned a vaccine which was had a more efficacy rate over the current vaccine shots administered in Kenya. and, if that wasn’t bad enough. The supply of the AstraZeneca vaccines has slowed down.
Irungu Kang’ata, the senator for Maranga County, and the former Senate Majority Chief Whip, pointed out that we wouldn’t be having this vaccine crisis if Ministry of Health, under the leadership of Kagwe, hadn’t banned private sales of vaccines. He added that these vaccines were clinically proven safe for use and had better efficacy rates, stating that it was illogical to ban the private sales.
But doing the illogical things is part of the kag’way’ of doing things.
And now, quite recently, Kagwe has come out with his new plans to set up vaccine manufacturing plants in Kenya.
Which is, of-course good plan, but the man who’s going to carry out that plan cannot be trusted.
For all we know, all our taxes and funds will be going towards setting up vaccine production plants, or so it would seem, when actually, the money is going towards Kagwe’s pockets and a year later he would come and announce like a little child that his science experiment had failed and the money was lost.
Because that’s the Kag’way’ of making things happen.
It’s high time we smoke Kagwe out of the health ministry because he has infected the health sector in Kenya for his personal motives.
And how could we trust a man like Kagwe when he is robbing the country for the ones that are claiming to be ruling it, but are actually ruining it?
