Enjoy 2018 FALL EVENTS With Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals 

There is always something happening on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Anna Maria Island and the fall season is a beautiful time to visit. The average fall temperatures range from 85°F in September with December’s daily high temperature of 73°F. From farmer’s markets to fun local events you will find plenty of things to do on the island and in the Bradenton area. Here is a list of some of our favourite events that you might enjoy during your stay with Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals-601 Gulf Dr. N. Anna Maria Island, Florida 34217.

Bayfest – held on Pine Avenue in Anna Maria, this years date and time for the 18th annual Bayfest is October 20, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM. This Free family crafts, food and music festival is a fun filled event with live music, a huge classic car show, unique arts and crafts vendor and a kid’s zone. There will be a large selection of food choices and treats, adult beverages, and live music. The classic car show will be from 10am – 3pm with over 100 antique, classic, custom, and muscle cars.

This year, proceeds will go toward aiding in economic relief assistance for local tourism industry workers.

  Bridge Street Market in Bradenton Beach – located at 107 Bridge Street the market is held on Sundays from November through April from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Visit your favorite vendors and enjoy fantastic food, beautiful art and jewelry, great local musicians, fresh produce, and more. Well you are there take a stroll along historic Bridge Street. You will find lots of unique shops and restaurants. At the south end is the Bridge Street pier where you can relax and enjoy a beautiful view of the inter-coastal waterway and watch the boats pass by. The pier offers shaded benches, a clock tower and if you are watchful, you can see manatees around the pier.

There is something almost magical about wandering along Bridge Street.

City of Anna Maria Market – The City of Anna Maria is hosting a farmer’s market from October 2018 to May 2019 from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm at the City Pier Park (the corner of Pine Avenue and South Bay Blvd). Florida produce is available along with herbs, plants, flowers, baked goods and more. When you are finished at the market stroll along Pine Avenue and experience some of the many attractions it has to offer. You will find irresistible boutiques, craft shops, salons, an abundance of restaurants, dessert shops, jewelry stores, clothing stores, art galleries, and gift shops.

Cortez Nautical Flea Market – Saturday, October 20th 8 am – 1 pm with a rain date set for Saturday, October 27th. This 21st annual FREE event will be held at the Florida Maritime Museum, 4415 119th Street West, Cortez. Parking is available at the F.I.S.H. Preserve. Travelling east from your condo the Preserve is located on the right (look for signs). Expect to find lots of marine products, dive gear, fishing gear, antiques and more. There will be live music and food.

Coquina Beach Market – Come and stroll the Beach Market at Coquina Beach from 10-4 every Sunday from November through July (excluding Easter, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day and Memorial Weekend in 2019) In December market days are extended to include both Sunday and Wednesday through to May 2019. A great way to spend the day as you stroll the beach and the shops. I love the variety of shops with many unique items. You will find local artists, beautiful wood wall art, produce, jewelry, arts and crafts and more! Come and watch local artisans creating and find that perfect souvenir of your trip to Florida. The talented AMI String band strolls the market from 10:30 -2:30. Enjoy the beautiful white sand beach and enjoy lunch with drinks on the deck overlooking the Gulf at Coquina Beach. There is something for everyone to enjoy with a perfect view of the beach and even a play area for the kids.

The Beach Market is at 2650 Gulf Drive S., Bradenton Beach at the trolley stop, concession stand area and is wheel chair and stroller friendly. Ride the FREE trolley to the market or park in the FREE parking lot. Manatee County does not allow dogs

Symphony on the Sand – While you are visiting beautiful Anna Maria Island experience this musical event, a beachfront concert at Coquina Beach Gulfside Park, Anna Maria Island. The 6th annual Symphony on the Sand presents a musical and gourmet event featuring the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra (AMICCO) on Saturday, Nov. 10th from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra and professional soloists will be performing tunes from Broadway musicals, noted popular and classical music and patriotic favourites. Emcee for the event will be local television personality. This is a rain or shine event and tickets can be purchased online at symphonyonthesand.com

• $125 – Ticket/Person Includes: Table Seating (at table of 10) with delicious small plates by area restaurateurs, complimentary fine wine and select beer

• $50 – Ticket/Person Includes: Concert Chair with 2 drink vouchers per ticket & concessionaire food purchase options

• $20 – Ticket/Person Includes: General Admission bring your own seating with cash bar & concessionaire food purchase options.

Online tickets will be available until noon on Friday, November 9. If not sold out, tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event.

The Beach|House, The Lazy Lobster of Longboat, Harry’s Continental Kitchens, Hometown Desserts and the Coquina Cafe at Coquina Beach are this year’s featured restaurants.

Manatee County is contributing $30,000 to help cover the costs of the stage, sound, and lighting, and what is left will help pay the musicians’ stipends. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra Youth and Outreach Programs.

There is plenty of free parking at Coquina Beach and also a convenient Trolley stop on site. Free Island-wide trolleys are running before and after the concert.

Veteran’s Day Parade – Veterans Day – a great way to remember the sacrifice the service men and women have made keeping the United States free.

Join in the parade on November 12, 2018 from 1:00 -2:00 pm on Pine Avenue on Anna Maria Island, Florida. Not walking in the parade? Then come out to watch, honour and thank those for their service to the country. The parade starts promptly at 1:00 at City Hall in the City of Anna Maria and will go down Pine Avenue to City Pier Park. The parade will feature three high school marching bands, floats, Privateers, a military fly-over and a few hundred marching veterans. There will be a free Ice Cream Social at the ANna Maria Island Historical Museum immediately following the parade.

Transportation to Events (or anytime) on Anna Maria Island: We love the free transportation our island offers. It lets you focus on the gorgeous landscape that makes Anna Maria Island so special and takes the worry out of driving and trying to find available parking. Anna Maria Island Free Trolley service travels the entire island. The trolley runs daily beginning at 6:00 am at 20 minute intervals until 9:00 pm then every 30 minutes until 10:30 pm. Trolley stops are 2-4 blocks apart. They are well marked, look for a green sign with a Trolley on it.

Another free and fun means of transportation is the “Monkey Bus.”  It really is not free, but a tip for service operation. It is a great way to get around the island and they operate fairly late. As well, they can seat any number of passengers from their 8 passenger golf cart to their mini bus.  They can be reached at 941 565-6542.
