I learned it from watching you." which is something a son says to his father in an anti-narcotics PSA in the 80s. positioning Elliot Ness as father. and furthermore. he didn't learn shit from watching Elliot Ness he learned it from watching the distorted movie parody of Elliot Ness. he's parodying a parody.

d. in In the Beginning Dean talks young John into buying the impala instead of the van he was abt to buy, bc vans are lame and gay, obviously and the Impala is cool and masc and will still be cool and masc in 40 years. "my dad taught me everything I know." he is teaching his father how to construct his own mythos in real time. dean (parody of john's masculinity) is teaching his own father how to be masculine. ouroboros. reciting his own mythos back to him. as he looks on in blank incomprehension.
