This handmade copper backsplash tile shows a metaphor and a research tool introduced by Darwin in order to visualize his view on relationships between living and extinct creatures, as well as similarities between different species. Since the tree of life raises a timeless question of life and evanescence, it is an extremely popular theme in contemporary art.
