“GIVE IT BACK - OR RISK DEATH - THAT IS OURS.” Loki's Cephalon broke through the silence, a few warped and corrupted-sounding words interrupting his sentence before it continued in his original emotionless voice. The Warframe, himself, stood a couple feet away from the Tenno, distrust evident in his hostile combat form.
Wait, what? Give what back?
Elijah was confused, to put it mildly, and casually reached for his sword laying by his side, wondering if he could get to his Warframe quick enough to adequately arm himself if things went south. Which, judging by the hostile stance of the Loki, things may very well end up going that way. Maybe he could get Nalen to bring Excalibur Umbra out of storage? But that would mean announcing what he was going to do to the Loki and his Cephalon, so that was likely out of the question, that plan of action.
Fuck.
“If I may ask, what is it that I have taken? As I have no idea honestly what it is you’re seeking and I do not wish to cause conflict if I have taken something precious without realizing it.”

@threadstories (E)quality is a day long symposium taking place at @ncad_dublin presented by @ncad_appliedmaterials_taa tomorrow Friday 15th November. If you are in Dublin or near I recommend you head along. Speakers will muse and question the role of making through textile processes and the unique materiality this has to communicate. These are ideas I ponder and wrestle with constantly in the studio, as a visual artist that grounds my process in making, in the hands-on, in traditional craft processes, engaging in the dark arts of intuitively creating art is in constant opposition to my training in Fine Art, which often leads me to question and muse on my practice....., then say f*ck it ...I’m suiting myself! If you are interested in any of the above, reserve a ticket and head along. You will see this video piece made by me with London based Irish film makers @sixbetweenfilm last year as part of my first solo show FalseHoods in 2018. This work was made with support from @kilkennyartsoffice and @dccoi bursaries. More information on times and booking over at @ncad_appliedmaterials_taa feed . Thank you to facility of The National College of Art & Design Textile Art & Artefact Department for invite to show work during symposium⚡️💫⚡️#arteducation #materiality #textiles #appliedarts #irishartsscene #ncad @threadstories - Gouache on paper, 12”x9” - #equality #creativity #thread #visualartist #mask #art #artist #artwork #drawing #painting #contemporaryart #portrait #figure #gallery #artdealer #curator #collector #instafame #instaart #artofinstagram #influencer #socialmedia #appropriation — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/34ku3Z3

Crocheted Masks by threadstories Question How We Portray Ourselves Online
Irish visual artist Threadstories crafts wearable textile masks that are often full-coverage, obscuring her face with layers of multi-colored yarn. The works are made with traditional techniques, and inspired by everything from the art of basketweaving to Francis Bacon‘s distorted figural paintings. Each work begins with a crocheted baklava which the artist uses as a base to attach each segment of material.
Conceptually, the masks question how we portray ourselves online and how this is influenced by a rapid decrease in personal privacy. “The masks deny the viewer the full story of who the sitter is, echoing the curated or false personas we portray and view online daily,” threadstories tells Colossal. “The masks are mutations of our private and public selves.”
You can see a short film that more deeply explores the process behind threadstories’s practice and masks in this film made by Sixbetween, and view more of her textile works on Instagram. (via Colossal Submissions)

I am delighted to announce that this piece has been chosen for exhibit as part of the 2020 Sculpture in Context, venue the gallery in the Botanic gardens. My abstract copper and carbon steel sculpture, titled Twisted, influenced by chaotic and nonlinear forms, the theme of decay and personal negative childhood memories. Created using one piece of sourced salvaged copper twisted into form with blue and green ageing patinations, with the addition of raw carbon steel heated and stretched into its final chaotic form, all mounted on a carved destressed timber base. . . #irishsculpture #dublinartists #twistedform #bluecopper #copperartist #artdublin #botanicgardens #designireland #designinteriors #artexhibition #abstractmetalsculpture #artsy #abstractionart #metalforming #copperpatination #andreucetti #originalmetal #comtemporaryart #dccoi #madeindublin #dlrarts #supportlocalart #instacopper #coppersalvage #salvagedartists #andreucetti #gallery #corporateart #newirishart #dukestreetgallery #sculptureincontext2020 (at Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CA9_WApnmxe/?igshid=1am7n8rn0lt8r
