Ezekiel 45:13-46:24, 1 Peter 1:13-2:10, Psalms 119:33-48, Proverbs 28:11
Today is the 23rd day of November welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it is great to be here with you today for the next step forward as we continue the journey that we are on that’s taken us from Genesis to Revelation all the way through the Bible this year. And at this point we find ourselves in the Old Testament in the book of Ezekiel and in the New Testament we’re working our way through first Peter. This week we’re reading from the New International Version. Ezekiel chapter 45 verse 13 through 46 verse 24.
Commentary:
Okay. In first Peter today…well in first Peter the letter itself, Peter is working to encourage people that are downtrodden in one way or another. And I feel like in any year that's appropriate and applicable. Of course, we’re all always going through something or another, but this year in particular we've all been going through a lot of things together and have found confusion about things together and have found our fragility together and found out some of the things that we’re…the…the stable things in our lives are shaky and so we feel the ground shifting beneath us. And in times like this, in times where the status quo has been disrupted than we work really hard to reestablish the status quo because that's…that's when we can just go back to sleep in our lives and try to keep moving forward toward the most pleasurable experiences that we can have in life, but with all of our thrashing about when things…when the status quo is interrupted, with all our thrashing about when we can't put things back together the way that we want them to be, we can’t domineer and control everything, well that's kind of the point where what's really going on inside of us gets exposed. That's when the pride comes out, right? That’s when even the hopelessness and the terror and the fear and all the other things that can accompany all of the emotions of the disruption of the status quo can emerge. And then it's what we do with that that’s gonna really matter. And a lot of times we angry, angry spiritually, disrupted spiritually, angry at God, walk away from God, move into rebellion or we’ll hold on tight to God and move through the storm but we can have a tendency to be back and forth. Peter says today and I quote, “you must live as God's obedient children. Don't slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn't know any better then, but now you must be holy and everything you do just as God chose you is holy.” On one hand we can look at that and…ahh…just more…more scriptures that can reveal the way that I fall short on a daily basis. And then we can feel sort of the subtle condemnation that even estranges us from God because we’re trying and we’re failing. Or we can look at what Peter’s saying here as an invitation forward. Not that we have to try are very, very best to combat the bad thoughts and things that go on in our head or the actions that we take, but there's an invitation into holiness. God is holy. God has chosen us and grafted us into His family, has placed His Holy Spirit within us to comfort us. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead indwells us. This is an invitation to holiness. Holiness is to be set apart to God, to realize that the chaos and the fray, we just don't…I mean we have…let's say we have 100 years to live, well in a century enormous things can trance…be transformed in the world, enormous things can happen, but nowhere near as much as a millennia, a thousand years. And we don't have that span. So, we have the span of life on earth that has been given to us and we live into that as if everything is happening for the first time because it's the first time it’s happening to us. But we are reading a letter that's a couple thousand years old and it's still speaking to us. So, the chaos that is in the world, the kinds of things that are in the world that disrupt us, disrupt our status quo and throw us into dissonance, this isn't new. It's always been going on. And God is inviting us near. We know we can't set ourselves apart unto God all by ourselves by sheer discipline. We will fail. And yet God is inviting us near. If, as the Bible tells us we are partakers of His divine nature than that also means His holiness covers us. You must be holy because I am holy may not be grounds…I mean, they may be grounds for conviction and repentance but it's not there to condemn us. It's there to pull us forward into what's being described. You must be holy because I am holy must be possible then. And this begins when we get our eyes off of everybody else's life, and we get our eyes off the swirl of chaos that could suck us in so easily and we get our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith. And, so let's going to this day considering these things, considering holiness an invitation into the furtherance of our transformation, our sanctification. Holiness will lead us to wholeness and we usually find that we surge forward in these areas when we find ourselves under pressure. We’re not gonna look back on this year in a couple of years and just be hashtag 2020 and it's a throwaway year. This is not a throwaway year. What we’re going to find is that we grew more this year than we anticipated. We learned more. We moved forward. The disruption forced us to stop standing still and to take steps forward. And if our steps forward are toward our Savior than our steps forward are toward holiness and our steps forward are toward wholeness, who we were created to be
Prayer:
Jesus, we invite You into that. We have examples of what that looks like in Your life as captured in the Gospels. We see the essence of what is true and what is holy, and we see it lived out facing opposition. So, You have given us an example of what this looks like. Holy Spirit help us to live into this we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
It’s Friday, November 20th and this is soaring on Eagles wings from Canada. Duane from Wisconsin I just finished listening to your prayer request and oh my heart is so broken for you as you are just shedding tears over your son. He’s now out of jail and he needs a place to stay. And I also know that your other son Nathan has a drug addiction and all the brokenness in your voice as your crying out to God and I am joining you and your family as you pray for these sons of yours. Mighty God in heaven You created them. And You see this Young man now who is out of jail. He has a child that’s going to have a first birthday. I pray God that You would arrest him where he is and help them to see that he needs Jesus. I pray for Duane and his wife in making the decision about should they take them in or should they not. Guide them Father God for wisdom on high and I pray in the name of Jesus that Satan will no longer have a hold over the views boys, that they will be set free to become men of God and serve You, be examples in their community and…and…and for their parents to see where God has taken them from and where He’s taking them to. And, so, I join You in the mighty name of Jesus. I call down heaven for You Duane. Your family, Your sons, deliver them Jesus I pray, and we praise You and thank You in the mighty …
Good morning DAB family this is Mama Bear from Southern California today is November 20th, 2020. I need you all to please keep my brother and his family in your prayers. Today we found out he has stage IV cancer, stomach cancer. And my brother is not a believer. And I’m asking everybody please pray that his heart is softened to the Lord that he accepts Jesus. And I pray for healing for him too. And I pray for his beautiful very young family, three girls all under the age of nine with an amazing young wife. I ask for healing but most of all salvation. He’s very stubborn and hardheaded and we sure could use all the prayer he can get. I thank you so much. God bless you all. And I listen to all of you every day. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hello DAB family this is Beautiful Heart from New South Wales Australia. I haven’t called in for a little while. Things have been busy, so I guess for everybody. But I’m just ringing because I was asked…would like to ask for some prayer. I am moving house, relocating about four hours north of where I’m currently living and relocation is always fun but I would just love…love prayer around my relocation, that it would go smoothly and just that I would really trust…trust God through this time and through settling in in my new home in my new circumstances. I’m extremely blessed to be able to take my work with me and become a remote employee. So, I don’t need to be looking for a new job and I will be moving a lot closer to family while moving away from some of my other family. So, it is a move tinged with sadness but also joy in what the Lord is planned. And I would just, yeah, just love your prayer family around this entire move. Thank you so much. I look forward to sharing a praise report with you soon. Okay. Thank you. Bye-bye.
Good morning today’s November 20th and I am giving thanks for Duane from Wisconsin. My brother I just heard your call that you called in on the 17th and we so appreciate you for what you’ve done and praying for our children and now I want to let you know that I am praying for your son Nicholas. And I want you to know that you are loved and you are being held in prayer and so is Nicholas for wisdom and discernment for unity for you and your wife as you have to speak to your son and see where he will wind up living, if he has a place to live. God will help you my brother. God is a not a respecter of time. And, so, even though this is being recorded three days after you left your message, I want you to know that I am praying for you. I love you my brother. I thank God for you and for all of you that are praying for our prodigal children. So many of us like His Little Cherry from Canada, we have children. I raised my son in the ways of the Lord he’s a good young man, he…but it’s not being good. I’m praying for the Lord to bring him back, and that’s His promise to us, to instruct your children in the way they should go. So, and for those that are just not seeing anything God is in control. I thank the Lord for our brother Duane from Wisconsin. God bless you and know that I am praying for all of our prodigal children.

Enforcement of Regulatory Bodies to Trade Indian Medicinal Plants and DNA Bar-coding In Wildlife Forensics
Lupine Publishers| Journal of Forensic
Abstract
India's diverse topology and habitat flourishes near about 45,000 species of plants. Certain species among these plants are medicinal plant species which are endemic to India. These plants are valuable for their medicinal or aromatic properties. Due to India's biodiversity abundance, plants from the wild are wildly exploited resulting in over exploitation of medicinal plants. The present review is carried out to ascertain the rules and their regulations in various states of India which are presently saving the national heritage and helping officials to apprehend herb smugglers. The review also presents the data suggesting the present scenario of advancements in the field of wild life forensic genetics to deal with such cases and technical advancements in the field of plant/part identification during the confiscations in various states.
Keywords: DNA bar-coding; Laws protecting plants; Indian Forest ACT; Wild Life Protection Act; CITES Appendix
Introduction
Wildlife forensics uses scientific tools to confiscate criminals dealing with restricted wildlife products. In recent times, very less literature could be found on crimes related to plants which are likewise smuggled for their socioeconomic importance. Many newspaper headlines mention such trade happenings around the world [1]. Various national and international regulatory bodies are also actively regulating such trade practices. But, due to lack of awareness and limited research work on these aspects of wildlife forensics, herbal medicine industry is growing. According to traffic.org India and china ranked 3rd and 2nd respectively to export plant material used in traditional healing systems. Plants with medicinal values are majorly collected from the wild [2]. To regulate herbal plants in trade, organizations like CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) plays a major role by providing guidelines to the signatory bodies. CITES convention has provided three appendixes i.e. Appendix I deals with species which are threatened or near to extinction, Appendix II deals with the species which might become threatened in the coming future, Appendix III of cites deals with plant requested to be included under regulation by member signatory countries. CITES is dedicated to provide fortification to plants as well as animals worldwide [3]. CBD is a different biodiversity convention which utilizes Nagoya protocol that gives the ability to access genetic resources of the native country and also ensure fair and unbiased sharing of remuneration arising from their use of these assets between it signatory countries of the convention [4]. Laws protecting Non wood forest produce in India. According to Indian Forest Act, 1927, thirteen Chapters have been solely dedicated to the protection of wildlife flora. The law stated to facilitate the lawful and unlawful activities of forests, duties and powers to forest officers and penalties and punishments as per the state Government rules. The act defines itself by stating the following definition.
"Consolidate the law related to forest, the transit of forest produce and the duty livable on timber and other forest produce". The word "forest produce" include timber, charcoal, caoutchouc, catechu, wood-oil, resin, natural varnish, barck, ac, mahua flower, mahua seeds and myrabolams. The chapter 1 clause2 (4b) in the Indian forest act also gives the liberty to add the trees, leaves, flowers, fruits, grass, creepers reeds, moss and all parts of such plant produce and other parts or produce that are not directly mentioned in the act to be protected and preserved by same regulations prescribed by the act [5]. By describing the forest produce broadly, the Indian forest act take the responsibility to even protect the non-economical plants which are mentioned or not mentioned in the act [6]. Basically the non-wood forest produce is economically important produce of the forest other than wood, which is being exploited by the law breakers to earn the instant money [7]. NTFPs are the active ingredient of budding small scale and fully developed large scale industries to commercialize the products to earn profit [8]. The produce (medicinal herbs) is profitable forest produce which is often used by pharmaceutical industries to launch health related products in the market [9]. These companies or organizations have permits and licenses to collect the permitted plant varieties from the locals [10]. The local herb dwellers have certain powers given by state and center governments through Indian biodiversity act etc. to earn their living by using their traditional knowledge of gathering wild flora [11]. This lawful business turns illegal when these dwellers and industrial set up without prior permissions gather and motivate forest dweller to supply the produce in bulk [12]. With limited knowledge of endangered and threatened species restricted from wild collection or deliberate collection to earn instant money is the main reason of utilization of forest produces [13].
According to the chapter 2 of INDIAN FOREST ACT which defines the reserve forest area under section 28 clause (f) which states "Any person who fells, girdles, lops, taps or burns any tree or strip off the bark leaves from, or otherwise damages the same and clause (g) removes any forest produce shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine or both in comparison to the damage [14]. Similar State Provision according to section 26. In this Bihar Sec. (26) the Forest range Offence is said to be cognizable and punishable with sentence for a maximum term of 6 months which may extend up to 24 years or with fine up to 5000/- or both + compensation[15]. In Gujarat Sec (26) of Indian Forest Act, punishment up to 1 year or with fine up to 1000/. In Himachal Pradesh according to Sec (26) punishment for forest offence is two years along with the fine of 5000. In Madhya Pradesh & West Bengal I year punishment is decided for the offender and fine of 2000 is imposed on such illegal activities. In Uttar Pradesh the maximum imprisonment for violating the rules of Indian forest act maximum punishment of 2 years or a fine of Rs. 5000/- or both is imposed on the offender when proved guilty for violation of sect. (26) (b), (h) (i) (j) but if the equivalent crime is committed second time and subsequently, sentence up to 2years or fine up to Rs. 20,000 but not less than Rs. 5000/- or both are imposed [16]. For the abuse other clauses of Sec. (26) imprisonment up to six month or a fine up to Rs. 1000/- or both is provided and for second and subsequent violation of these subsections is punishable by imprisonment up to six month or a fine up to Rs. 2000/- or both. Similarly, in chapter 3 which defines the protected forest areas under section 33 clauses is punishable with same penalty as is defined for the activities in reserve forest declared by the officials [17].
State Provisions According to Section 33
In Bihar state according to the section (33) imprisonment minimum of six months, maximum 2 of years fine minimum Rs. 1000/- maximum Rs. 5000/- imprisonment + fine both is availed to punish the convicted criminal but in case of Haryana:-15Sec (33) Imprisonment up to 1 year or with fine up to Rs. 1000 is imposed for the conviction in similar crime [18]. In Madhya Pradesh punishment lesser than Bihar Punishment is decided upto1 year or with fine up to Rs. 1000/ [19]. In Maharashtra punishment for violating Indian forest act rules is only up to 1 year or with fine up to Rs. 2000. Similarly in West Bengal Sec. (33) up to 1 year or with fine up to Rs. 1000 only. Uttar Pradesh is strict in terms of punishment for forest offences as their Maximum imprisonment of two years or fine up to Rs. 5000/- or both and for second and subsequent violation maximum term of 2 years or fine up to Rs. 10,000/-[20]. Wildlife protection Act. 1972 and the listed species Wildlife protection Act. 1972, SCHEDULE VI six plants are protected strictly by this Act which offers severe penalties to the offenders [20].The penalty is minimum 3 years which may extend depending upon the severity of the illegal activity and with fine of rupees 25000. If the convict is license holder the license will be cancelled and upon repetitive offence the penalty may increase up to 7 years [21]. Chapter ii of WPA outlines the protection of definite plants by declaring two clauses which are as follows:
a) Willfully pick, uproot, damage, destroy, acquire or collect any specified plant from any forest land and any area specified, by notification, by the Central Government.
b) Posses, sell, offer for sale, or transfer by way of gift or otherwise, or transport any specified.
Plant, whether alive or dead, or part or derivative thereof: Provided that nothing in this section shall prevent a member of a scheduled tribe, subject to the Provisions of Chapter IV, from picking, collecting or possessing in the district he resides any Specified plant or part or derivative thereof for his bona fide personal use." Further in section 17B of chapter 2 the law provides relaxation to educational institutions, researchers, scientific institutions to collect plant samples by acquiring the permission from chief wildlife warden [22]. The plants mentioned in this section are also prohibited to be cultivated without the prior permission from chief wildlife warden. The license is necessary to commercially cultivate the plants and sell them to the wholesalers. These rules are followed more strictly in protected and preserved forest areas or any such areas which are being declared protected by the government officials [23].
First species listed is Beddomescycad (Cycas beddomei) is native to trimulla hills of Andhra Pradesh. The male cones incorporate bioflavonoid which is used in the management of rheumatoid arthritis and muscle pains. It is listed in cites Appendix1 and Wild Life Protection Act 1972 Schedule 6 and CITES appendixes [24]. Blue Vanda (Vanda soerulec) is another endangered native plant of India which is found at 2000m- 3000m altitude. The plant is traded for its ornamental properties [25]. Kuth (Saussurea lappa) is list in WPA is also listed in CITES appendix 1. It is found at 2500 to 3000m Himalayas, Jammu Kashmir forest areas, Western Ghats, and kishenganga valley. It is traded by the name kuth kauri, kuth mithi. Basically the root of the plant contains Sesquiterpene lactones which are used to treat serious ailments like asthma, inflammatory diseases, and ulcer and stomach problems [26]. In India, only two genera namely Cypripedium and Paphiopedilum listed in Cites 1 and WPA schedule 6 can be found in Himalayan and NorthEast Indian region except one species of Paphiopedilum which is endemic to Western Ghats. This orchid specie is specifically traded for its ornamental and aromatic properties [27]. Pitcher plant's natural habitat is India and mostly originates in Jarain area of the Jaintia Hills, the Baghmara area of the Garo Hills of Meghalaya or in Assam.
The plant is exploited from the wild for its ornamental and medicinal use. It is enumerated in cites Appendix1 and Wild Life Protection Act 1972 Schedule 6 [28]. Red Vanda is listed CITES appendix 1 and schedule 6 of WPA is found in Meghalaya. It is being traded internationally for its ornamental properties [29]. Customs Act. 1962, regulates the import and export of India. Under this act, section 112 defines the penalties for improper import and export of any good which is restricted by any law in action at that present time will be confiscated and fine of rupees 5000 or value of goods whichever is higher will be imposed. According to the section 118 and 119 deals with smuggling goods and goods used to conceal the smuggling goods. The section give the power to custom officers to seal any import and export goods and goods which are used to conceal the smuggled goods which are brought out of the limits of custom area and custom ports[30,31].
International treaties to protect plants
a) International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (IT PGRFA)
Secretary-General of the United Nations [32].
b) The International Tropical Timber Agreement (ITTA, 1983), International Tropical Timber Agreement, 1994 (ITTA, 1994 or ITTA2) [33].
c) Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, also known as the Washington Convention) [34].
d) Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats, also known as the Bern Convention (or Berne Convention), council of Europe [35].
e) Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Secretary- General of the United Nations [36].
f) Conservation of Antarctic Fauna and Flora Secretary- General of the United Nations [37].
Trade of restricted medicinal herbs
Wildlife trafficking have emerged with its medium from physical markets to online e commerce sites. Numbers of species are being sold on the web portals with dedicated websites, WebPages through face book, Instagram YouTube and many more social networking sites illegally just because these platforms provide greater anonymity to the seller. The plants which are being sold on these platforms are basically threatened rare or endangered [38]. EVAN MATI 307 medicinal products corresponding to ca. 283 species. Ten species out of 35 were found to be locally endangered and listed in IUCN [39]. The plants are also advertised online on daily bases and delivered without being securitized by the authorities. This may be due to lack of awareness on this issue specifically in India. Figure number 1-4 clearly shows such online business [40].
DNA Bar-Coding to Identify Plants in Trade
DNA bar-coding is presently quick and precise tool to identify plant species. Chloroplast genome off plant sequencing can convey a consistent barcode to accurately identify plants. The development of specific barcodes provides a new approach to distinguish closely related Species to tackle illegal trade of medicinal plants in trade [41]. Table 1 shows the ingenuities of Investigation work in wildlife forensics with respect to flora. The scanty research work in this area provide ample scope to scientist and researcher to explore this budding field of wild life forensics and establish barcode libraries specific to plant families or location specific libraries showing mutations if any [42-46].
Table 1: Shows the research work in the field of wildlife forensic
Conclusion
Due to India's biodiversity abundance, plants from the wild are wildly exploited resulting in depletion of important medicinal herbs. The illegal trade practices often go unnoticed because lack of awareness and lesser punishments as compared to the reimbursements involved to such trades practices. The punishments mentioned as such in the paper are demonstrating the lack of momentousness of law enforcement toward this serious issue. The Scanty literature on DNA Bar-coding provide ample opportunities of research in this untouched area of wildlife genetics which will directly benefit the law enforcement agencies to convict forest offenders

“Love and Humility are the sweet bonds of our marriage:” A Book of Hours owned by the wife of a French Catholic propagandist of the 16th century, and the Governor of Pennsylvania!
Fifty-two discoveries from the BiblioPhilly project, No. 7/52
Book of Hours, Use of Paris, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1924‑19‑1, fol. 24r (miniature of the Annunciation from the Hours of the Virgin)
Books of Hours are highly mobile objects that can often accrue fascinating later histories. Because of their deeply personal nature, they can become associated with historical persons either through legend or fact (or a combination of the two). Only relatively rarely, however, does one later owner purchase a book on account of its earlier ownership history. One such example is a fairly modest Parisian Book of Hours acquired by the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1924 (accession number 1924‑19‑1). Unlike the later ensembles of illuminated manuscripts donated to the museum by Samuel and Vera White or Philip S. Collins, this manuscript was not published or described upon its entry into the collection.[1] Its only existing description comes from Seymour de Ricci’s Census of Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts in the United States and Canada and its later Supplement, produced by C.U. Faye and W.H. Bond.
In both Census volumes, the manuscript’s early provenance with the Duderé family in France is briefly recorded, as is its later ownership in the United States by Samuel W. Pennypacker, 23rd Governor of Pennsylvania (1843–1916), who served from 1903 to 1907 (and to whom we shall return). The Duderé provenance is evident through two unequivocal inscriptions within the manuscript. The first, on folio 1r, reads:
1924‑19‑1, fol. 1r, with ownership inscription of Michelle Duderé dated to 1577
(“This Book of Hours belongs to Lady Michelle du Deré wife of Mr. Louis d’Orléans advocate in the court of Parliament and it descended from her deceased father Mr. Jean Duderé counsellor of the King and auditor in his chamber of accounts. 1577. Love and Humility are the sweet bonds of our marriage.”)
It thus transpires that the book was in the possession of Michelle Duderé, wife of the noted French Catholic League pamphleteer Louis Dorléans (1542–1629).[2] In addition to being known for authoring numerous religious tracts, Dorléans was also an occasional poet, and wrote some bucolic verses replete with thinly-veiled references to his beloved wife, but also to his former mistress Catherine de la Sale![3] Interestingly, some of his writings also show an unusual knowledge of Middle French poetry; he even donated a fourteenth-century French translation of the Golden Legend to a Minim convent in Paris in 1561 (Paris, Bibliothèque Mazarine, ms. 1279). Michelle Duderé, as she herself tells us in the inscription, had inherited the Book of Hours from her father, Jean Duderé, notary and secretary to the French king, whose principal historical importance seems to have been his invocation in a seventeenth-century lawsuit concerning the inheritance of such royal appointments. It appears that the manuscript was then gifted by Michelle Duderé’s blind son to a cousin once-removed, a certain G. Duderé, for on the verso of the first folio we read another French inscription, written some seventy-three years later:
1924‑19‑1, fol. 1r, with ownership inscription of G. Duderé dated to 1650
(“This present book was given to me by the late Monsieur D’Orleans son of Madame D’Orleans named Michelle Dudere. He was blind and worthily bore this affliction, my cousin once removed. G. Dudere 1650… the figures which are on their knees in the pictures of this book are portraits of the deceased demoiselle Michelle de Sauslai [?], mother of my deceased father.”)
1924‑19‑1, fols. 124r and 130r (miniature of the Virgin and Child with Angel with a female donor; miniature of the Trinity with an Angel holding the Crown of Thorns with a female donor)
The supposition that the two donor portraits (on folios 124r and 130r; illustrated above) contained in the book depict a certain “Michelle de Sauslai” (?), grandmother of the owner alive in 1650 is manifestly incorrect, since the book dates from the fifteenth century. But there is no reason to doubt the other pieces of evidence situating the book with the Duderé family early in its history.
Governor Samuel W. Pennypacker (1843–1916)
This is all fine and well, but how did the manuscript come to be owned by the Governor of Pennsylvania, Samuel Pennypacker? Pennypacker was a noted jurist, trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, president of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and local history enthusiast who collected a large amount of material related to the early German and Dutch settlement of South-Eastern Pennsylvania, most of which is today preserved at the Pennypacker Mills house museum. Other manuscripts once owned by Pennypacker that are still in Philadelphia include another Book of Hours (Lewis E 116) and a series of astronomical tables followed by a short text concerning astrology and planetary movements (Lewis E 3), both of which are today in the Free Library. These manuscripts were all auctioned off in the Pennypacker sale in 1906, together with a small number of other manuscripts. Additionally, for the present manuscript, the Faye and Bond supplement to de Ricci’s Census includes the name of an additional owner, the noted Chestnut Hill philanthropist, John Story Jenks (1839–1923). Jenks was a great supporter of the Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art (the precursor of the Philadelphia Museum of Art), as a short obituary confirms.[4] It was he who left the manuscript to the museum upon his death.
Portrait of John Story Jenks (1839–1923) by Alice Mumford Roberts
So why did Governor Pennypacker purchase this particular French Book of Hours, prior to its acquisition and donation by Jenks? The answer is provided in an all-but-forgotten issue of a regional historical journal, The Perkiomen Region, Past and Present, published in March of 1901 by Henry S. Dotterer (1841–1903). The short article, entitled “A Sumptuous Devotional Book,” vividly describes the book and asserts that the Governor:
…purchased it because he felt convinced that the family of Duderé mentioned in the inscription was identical with an old Pennsylvanian family—that of Doderer, Dotterer, Dudderer, Duttera, Dudderow. This conviction induced him to pay the large sum quoted for it by the foreign bookseller [i.e. James Tregaskis of London], and to bring it, after a service of more than three centuries, from its native France to the New World.
To find the connecting links from the Duderés of the Sixteenth century to the Dotterers of the Twentieth century would be a great genealogical achievement. Doderers and Dotterers appear in various parts of Europe prior to the date of the arrival, about 1722, of George Philip Dodderer, or Dotterer, in Pennsylvania. Tradition, in some instances, asserts that the Pennsylvania immigrants were of French origin; but not uniformly so, for Alsace, Baden, Wurtemberg and Austria are also named as the place of their nativity. We have unbounded respect for Judge Pennypacker’s insight into genealogy, ethnology, and the kindred sciences, and it will therefore not be a surprise to us if research shall ultimately prove that his intuitions are correct.[5]
The prominent Dotterer family of Pennsylvania was established by George Phillip Dotterer (ca. 1676–1741), who was born in Baden-Württemberg and died in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in 1741. George’s father Hans is thought to have been born in the same region of Germany as his son around 1650. However, this family’s link to the prominent Catholic Duderés of France remains tenuous. As such, Governor Pennypacker’s assumption remains unlikely; perhaps his doubts led him to sell the book on in his 1906 sale. In any case, both G. Duderé’s misattribution of the portraits in the book and the dubious linkage to the Dotterer dynasty made by Governor Pennypacker demonstrate the extent to which an unsuspecting manuscript can become the subject of historical wishful thinking.

Cataracts
Cataracts impair vision and eventually result in blindness. They can happen at any age, although they typically start between the ages of 45 and 55. However, symptoms may not show up until the mid- or late-60s. People who spend a lot of time outside without shades, where they are exposed to UV and HEV light, are more likely to acquire them. Wearing sunglasses with UV/HEV filters can considerably postpone the development of this eye disease. Annual eye exams at Eye Contact will enable its eye doctor Acworth team to monitor changes, make the necessary suggestions, and continue to offer guidance and care for your optimal vision and eye health.
Eye Contact
People of all ages benefit from having a good vision in terms of overall well-being and freedom. There are numerous solutions available to persons with defective but correctable eyesight to help them see better. The most popular choices among these are glasses, contacts, or laser surgery. Because contact lenses allow people to keep a natural appearance without eyeglasses, they are the most common pick. You can visit Eye Contact to have a resident doctor examine your eyes. He will do a thorough eye and vision examination and work with you to choose the type of contact lens that best suits your lifestyle, financial situation, and optical demands.
The Economy of Acworth, GA
Acworth, Georgia, has an unemployment rate of 3.4 percent compared to the US average of 6.0 percent. The city has seen a job market increase of 2.9 percent over the last year and has a predicted future job growth of 46.0 percent over the next ten years. This is higher than the national average of 33.5 percent. The metropolis's sales tax rate is 6.0 percent compared to the US average of 7.3 percent, while the income tax rate is 6.0 percent compared to the US average of 4.6 percent. The average income of an Acworth resident is $23,465 a year compared to the US average of $28,555 a year.
Qualusi Vineyards in Acworth, GA
The Gilbert family launched Qualusi Vineyards in 2017. Its name, which means grapes in Cherokee, is where it got its start. Visitors are welcome to stop by and sample some of its assortment of red, white, and sweet wines. On weekends, it provides a selection of food trucks and charcuterie trays prepared in the area. You can also count on an afternoon of live music, but you are urged to bring your lawn chairs. There are many outdoor spaces scattered among the vineyards, which have a family-friendly setting. There is also indoor seating available. You can check its webpage for upcoming events.
Man Charged For Impersonating Officer
Wearing an outfit that looks like a police uniform and attempting to detain others are both examples of impersonating a law enforcement official. Formally introducing yourself as a cop to others and altering or customizing a vehicle to resemble a real police car is also against the law. Any circumstance in which a person poses as an officer is prohibited. A defendant who is found guilty of this offense as a misdemeanor may get a sentence of up to one year in jail and hefty fines. The maximum punishment for felony convictions is three years in prison and a $10,000 fine. False impersonation is a serious crime with potentially significant repercussions. “Rabbits and Motors Get Man In Trouble,” Toronto Star. October 26, 1931. Page 2. ---- Stole Radiator Caps to Decorate Shed for Bunnies - Held for Sentence --- J. Downs and L. and H. Rushbrook, characterized by the officer who arrested them on disorderly conduct charges, as ‘young men who hang around corners using language which is not so good,’ pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Keith in county court to-day. The officer said that he came upon the young men Friday ‘hollering and wrestling’ at the corner of Scarlett Rd. and Eileen Ave., York township.
‘Were they obstructing people?’ queried Assistant Crown Attorney C. L. Synder. ‘Just hollering and wrestling - they told me they were waiting for a car. This was in Runnymede district; they live in Mt. Dennis.’
‘There is no evidence to convict on the charge,’ commented the bench. ‘Why were you up there?’ the court asked the three accused. ‘We have games on the football field on St. Clair.’
‘Well, you should stay on the football field. You must remember that the public street is for the use of everyone’ - ‘and not for practicing the new forward pass,’ put in the crown. The charges were dismissed.
To three charges of theft laid by East York police and two of breaking and entering, Reg. Buyers pleaded guilty to both breaking and entering charges, and not guilty to two theft counts. Articles allegedly stolen by the youth ranged from radiator caps to lumber, shingles, a tarpaulin and tools, the last-named the property of the township.
14 Radiator Caps After testimony of Detective-Sergeant W. E. Creighton, East York, Myers admitted theft of 14 radiator caps. His only reason for so doing, he said, was to ‘make a collection’ for himself and a chum, a juvenile he said.
The boys were going to have some rabbits in the shed he proposed to decorate, said Byers. ‘A rabbit and motor show,’ commented Crown Attorney Snyder.
Byers was remanded in custody until Friday for sentence.
‘Oh, nothing,’ was Robert Segsworth’s reply when an officer asked him the reason for speeding between 50 and 55 miles an hour from Rogers Rd. to St. Clair Ave. The constable charged Segsworth with reckless driving. Accused pleaded not guilty.
‘I am sorry,’ says Segsworth. ‘Of course, you’d be sorry if you killed someone,’ retorted the court. ‘I am going to cancel your permit to drive for 30 days and fine you $25 and costs.’
Father’s Signature A young man, wishing to buy a new car, proffered a cheque for $200 with his father’s signature to a Richmond Hill salesman. In the meantime he was loaned a car worth $60. The cheque was afterwards found worthless.
The boy’s father, facing his son in the dock, appeared to be deeply moved when called upon to prove his signature.
A theft charge against accused was dismissed and on two charges of obtaining $10 and $6 by false pretences from a merchant, the accused pleaded guilty. He was remanded for sentence on the three charges until Nov. 2 in custody.

Ezekiel 7:1-9:11, Hebrews 5:1-14, Psalms 105:1-15, Proverbs 26:28
Today is the 3rd day of November welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it is a joy and an honor and everything good to be here with you today as we move into the Scriptures and take the next step forward together. And it’s so good that we can be together today in God's word. So, let's set let's dive in. We’re reading from the Evangelical Heritage Version this week. Ezekiel chapters 7, 8, and 9 today.
Commentary:
Okay. The book of Proverbs today tells us that two things are not good things - a lying tongue and a smooth mouth. And, so, I suppose this is as good of a day as any to talk about what the Proverbs are talking about. And yeah, we…we can certainly look out…outward and see all this stuff but as is always the case once we identify it in the world what's going on then, we need to turn it back inward to discover whether we’re part of the noise, whether we’re part of the problem, or if we’re part of the solution. So, a lying tongue hates the one it crushes. So, what is a lying tongue? I mean, we could probably say that’s sort of self-evident. It's…it's the tongue that doesn’t speak what is true. But there are so many nuances to the way that we lie to each other aren't there? Like we sort of think that we’re telling the truth as long as we have some sort of morsel of truth in the thing that we are fabricating but we have a…we are like being deceptive. So, if we’re willing to embellish and puff up or the opposite, to diminish or crush down the truth, the actual truth, in order to manipulate somebody or in order to hide behind something and try to protect ourself from exposure then we’re not only gonna be crushing people, we’re gonna be doing it with hatred. That is a massive, massive thing to realize. If we’re gonna flatter, if we’re gonna manipulate, if we’re gonna nuance the things that we’re gonna say and they aren’t really what we mean in order to kinda like get close to somebody or get into somebody's life because they have something that we want or they have something that we need, that we think that we need, we need to get close to them, then it's going to cause a ruin everywhere ultimately because it's foundation is false. It's a lie. It's gonna crush. And there's something in me that’s saying stop. Like don't keep trying to reexplain this with…with other metaphors or analogies. Like this is enough. Its stark. A lying tongue hates those it crushes and a smooth mouth causes ruin. So, if that's you, then this is where the road is going. If that's not you, then this is what to avoid because it brings destruction.
Prayer:
Father, we come before You on this and it rings true and it's convicting, and it does penetrate. It makes us reflect. It makes us consider but the deeper that we consider the more we realize that our entire culture is based on this kind of sidestepping. We are a world of people so afraid of being exposed the truth of who we are that we do everything possible to nuance and to hide when we are all guilty. Like, were any of us, anybody to be fully exposed then we would be fearful of the judgment that would come against us, but we are all in the same boat. It would happen to anybody. And You have invited us into the light. You have essentially said, “that's the world. That's how it works. It's a system built in falseness and held captive by the author of deception and lies.” You have invited us to be free, to walk into the light, to be in the truth. And no matter what that may bring, to know that we don't have a divided heart or a divided mind. We don't always have to figure out which personality we have to put on depending on what circumstances we’re in. We just get to be who You made. This is freedom indeed, but it flies in the face of the structures of the world that we live in. And, so, living like this…well…it would indeed be living like You lived Jesus. It would look like You. And we can see the raging of the world against You. And, so, we scratch our heads because it doesn't make sense because freedom is available, but the system is so rigged against freedom that we find ourselves just trying to find ways to cope and manage when You are offering freedom, that we can live in the light, that we can live in the truth. So, come Holy Spirit and help us over these coming days as we meditate upon this, as we catch ourselves being false or as we become more and more aware of the falseness around us, as we begin to see it. We need Your help to navigate it. There’s no way we’ll be able to figure this out. So, come Holy Spirit we open ourselves to You, well up within. Lead and guide our steps, the thoughts and intents of our hearts. We pray in the mighty name, the victorious name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.
Announcements:
dailyaudiobible.com is home base, it's the website, it’s where you find out what's going on around here. And there’s always something or another going on around here.
Kind of have to be under a rock to not know that today is election day in the United States. Probably no matter where you are in the world. And, yeah, we’ve been on the radar kind of all year, with all kinds of stuff and Covid hasn't helped and there’s just a lot of swirl going on. And I make it a very, very specific, very intentional point to do what we do here, to take the rhythm of the Scriptures and let it be a part of our lives every day. And I feel like the Scriptures In our lives can comment on what's going on in our world better than me being some…just another noisemaker. So, I would like to give as simple, as trivial, as obvious of advice as I can give you. Maybe you’re one of the people who have already voted. Great. Awesome. If you’re going to the polls today, pray, listen, obey and then walk away in peace. There's nothing else to do here. I mean I've lived long enough that I've been through several elections and even from my youth I cannot think of an election where the rhetoric hasn’t amped up to the point where we are led to believe that what we are about to do is the most pivotal thing we have ever done in the nation's history, maybe in the history of all humanity. That's…that's not true. The most important thing we have ever done is to become a part of the family of God. We are a part of a kingdom that is upon this earth that spans and crosses every single border. This is our allegiance - the kingdom of God. And God will not be toppled my brothers and sisters over this or anything else. And, you know how this goes. This ends at some point and somebody is…is the winner and that's gonna leave about half the people bumbed and about half the people rejoicing. And we can all do what people do these days - get on the Internet and just start making noise, start sending out memes. Take all of the divisiveness that has been amped up this entire year and really live into it, like really live into it and make this country an “us versus them” understanding that we are making the body of Christ, then divided in “us versus them” because so many of us are believers who are completely and totally opposite in their political convictions. So, the last thing that I have to say isn’t my opinion, isn't anything to do with me other than it's my voice reminding you. We have a Savior. His name is Jesus. He loved us when we were still His enemy. He loved us as a people despite our animosity and he laid his life down that we might live. And just mere hours before He did that, He was sitting with his friends having his last meal. And at that last meal He said something that must reverberate through everything about our lives, including all of what happens today. He said a new commandment I give to you, that you love one another as I have loved you. So, friends it gets pretty simple then. When you pray and listen and obey and walk away in peace and love one another as we have been loved as we come out of this, the most divisive of all seasons that we experience as a nation every four years. If there...if there ever were a time to be a city on a hill, to be the salt of the earth, to be light in the darkness, to be the hands and feet of Jesus to love one another as we have been loved, well it that would be coming out of this wouldn’t it. And, so, let's walk through this day at peace loving one another as we have been loved.
And that's it for today, I’m Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi everyone, this is Lisa the Encourager. I’m calling tonight to pray for our elderly parents or just our parents in general. I’ve certainly called in for our children many times, but I definitely want to focus on our parents today. I know Howard called in about his mom being in rehab and how difficult that was and how she looked very weak. And I just want to pray for him and his mom. And I have a similar situation with my dad going through that. So, I can empathize with your situation Howard. And also, Charlie called in about his parents and them being diagnosed with Covid. So, I want to also pray for his parents and anyone else out there that is going through a difficult time with their parent’s health and how stressful that can be and making a lot of hard decisions. And I’m just gonna pray that God is gonna guide us through those things and that they will be as peaceful and as comfortable as possible. So, let’s go to the Lord in prayer about all of our parents. And also, I wanted also to just say, I respectfully admire Brian for what he went through with his mom and continued to be a ministry to all of us. So, I just thank you again Brian for that because I know that had to be a hard time when you lost your mom. Dear God, I thank you so much for Pastor Brian and what he means to all of us and also thank you God for these…all of our parents Lord that are getting older in life. And I just pray God that your hand will be upon them, that they can recover, and you can comfort them where they need your comfort…
Hey DAB family this is Danny from Southern Oregon I wonder if you could please pray for my 15-year-old grandson Christopher and his friends. The other day these four friends skipped school and they were heading to one of the boy’s houses. And Christopher’s not allowed there. And anyway, shortly after he left school the school called my son and his mom, and they immediately began looking for him and texting him and calling him. And it appears that Christopher got a little bit worried that he was and I get into trouble so when he was about two blocks from this boy’s house he ended up going home to his mom’s and that was about 11 o’clock in the morning. And at 1230 the police were dispatched to a fatality. One of the…my grandsons’ best friends accidentally shot and killed one of the other boys and the third boy was standing right next to him and I’m sure is suffering a lot of PTSD from what he witnessed. And I know…I’m so thankful my grandson was not there but he’s so upset that he’s lost his best friend and they ended up arresting the boy for murder because some things just didn’t add up. And so please…please pray for Tony. He was the one standing next to him and ended up just covered head to toe in brain matter. It was point-blank. And…and pray for Dustin who’s been arrested for murder, that the truth come out and maybe they would all come to know the Lord through this. Thank you.
This is Kathy from Kentucky. I have a different kind of prayer request. I’m gonna take a test in martial arts specifically, Shaolin in two weeks. If I pass, I’ll be a 2nd degree brown belt and well on my way to black belt. When I was a girl growing up, I was not allowed to play team sports __ passed after I got out of high school. And I would’ve been good at some kind of sport. I trained on the swim team the summer before I graduated from high school and then after that I was too old. So, it’s important to me to be able to do something at my age, 67. So, please pray for my martial arts test Shaolin on the second Saturday of November the 14th.
Hi this is Julie from California I just started listening to the Daily Audio Bible about a week and a half ago. It was recommended through another podcast that I listen to and it has been up total and complete godsend. The last three years or so have been just really horrible. My marriage was almost at its end. My father-in-law passed away. We sold everything and moved out of state to take care of my mother-in-law at a very remote place where I had no support and found out she had Alzheimer’s and ended up staying for 2 ½ years when our plan was to stay a year. And then my dad passed away while we were gone, and my mom was diagnosed with leukemia. She’s in remission and doing phenomenally well praise God, but also there were issues with my son and now he no longer talks to us and I lost my job and we filed bankruptcy. Like, just thing piled on after thing piled on after thing and really kind of wrecked my relationship with God for a long time because I really couldn’t read my Bible, I couldn’t focus, I couldn’t do journaling. I mean I was on…I was on a regular track of reading the Bible in the year every year for like three or four years and then I just stopped. And this is miraculous because I actually am feeling like I’m getting the word in me and feeling more joy and I just am really thankful for you guys and I would just appreciate prayers where…where you feel like praying for me and a…a word. I’m happy to hear a word if you have a word for me because I need God so much right now. Thank you. God bless.
Hi family this is Peggy in California. And I, like so many of you, just absolutely love this community and appreciate it so much. It’s a place to share our deepest hurts and our joys and it’s just wonderful and I thank you all for participating and making it what it is. I’m calling today like many others who have called for my adult children. In particular one of my sons, he’s a twin, actually. I got a call from his twin yesterday telling me that his brother’s not doing well, he’s very depressed and seems to be disinterested in…in life, in not moving forward. Recently had a breakup with a girlfriend that I think what’s…he’s exhibiting is actually something that started before that. So, of course, I’m heartbroken and I worry about him. And he was raised in the church, but he doesn’t seem to have a very strong connection if any. So, I just pray that would lift Mason up in your prayers. And I thank you for doing that for me. Have a good day.

Context Artists Research
Luke Willis Thompson is a New Zealand artist of Fijian and European descent, currently living and working in London. Thompsons is known for using film, installation, and performance as his main practice. Thompson’s artwork focuses on racial injustices and historical trauma while also being respectful of the victims that he brings attention too in his works. He is a name on the wall but has been known to avoid giving easy answers when questioned about his work, it’s hard to find a statement of his own about his work and how he wanted it perceived.
I personally found his main goal to be simply remembrance for the victims involved, a way of bringing up their trauma with the story recentred around how the public reacted to the incidences and intended to create a reflection period to think about how we would handle the situation dare it arise again. While also bringing back past incidences and have the audience confront the fact that we did this to each other as human beings.
Luke Willie Thompson.
“Sucu Mate/Born Dead”. concrete headstones, nine elements, 800 x 400 x 60mm each approx.
“Sucu Mate/Born Dead” Is a installation piece featuring a collection of nine anonymous gravestones from a 19th century colonial-era burial ground for both the labour/slaves and management for nearby sugar plantations with many of the labours/slaves being migrant labourers from India, China, and elsewhere in Asia. The cemetery being segregated social and racial hierarchies with managers at the top of the hill, indigenous people buried in the centre of the cemetery and the migrant labours/slaves being buried at the bottom and more flood prone area.
The piece is displayed in a single line in one gallery and in another displayed in a more traditional old cemetery way showing the details of the age worn gravestones. Which gives an interesting narrative to the gravestones with them being worn and nameless but it also gives an almost quite confrontational in them being gravestones that belong to people, with the title being Born Dead which I believe is commenting on how the labours/slaves were born into a dammed and difficult fate that awaited the workers from birth.
To avoid further controversy Thompson worked with the Fiji museum and the minister of culture in Fiji to get permission to excavate the remains of damaged headstones while also repairing the sites of excavation to prevent anyone from commenting that it was without permission
Many of Thompsons artworks are walking a fine line between unearthing and exploitation often coming under fire for works that some people take as exploiting cultures despite him being from both Fijian and European background he is “white-passing” to others from different ethical backgrounds he faces criticism for the works that do involve different backgrounds as the work being cultural appropriation.

Untitled, 2012. spray paint, garage doors from Mahia Rd, Manurewa, 2000 x 2500mm each approx.
For this work Thompson got the three garage roller doors that had been vandalized by an Auckland teenager (15 year-old Pihema Cameron) who was subsequently stabbed to death by the owner who chased after the teen and took the law into his own hands. The work itself is just relaying the tragedy in a more confrontational setting with my interpretation of it actually capturing the legacy of this event as well as Both the unresolved story of social justice but also the physical object and its ability to provide the remnants of this political and emotionally charged event for the family involved.
The controversy to this piece is the artists statement which called out the media for writing a story that “prioritised Cameron’s illegal actions over his victim status in a crime said by some to be racially motivated.”Rather than the story being about a man that had chased down 2 teens with a knife which resulted in the death of a 15 year old and an appalling conviction being found guilty of manslaughter (not murder) and only sentenced to 4 years and 3 months, but serving 11 months in prison before serving another year in home detention which is just the longer saying of a rich white-man’s punishment

When you have children with disabilities, it’s easier to keep their car insurance rates down than be the customer with more options to choose from: Car insurance rates are higher for children, but car insurance is actually cheaper in that a parent won’t have to be named as one of the drivers involved in the accident as they might not be covered by their own policy or policies that are independently owned. In Nevada, for instance, parents can opt to opt out of covering their children by keeping home at school, but they will also have to.
