A mother's nutrition while breastfeeding
There are some things that must be considered by women while nursing a baby. You must follow the food pyramid so that you can get enough nutritious food and include items such as fruit, dairy products, multi-grains, vegetables, and protein food like meat, eggs, nuts, seafood, beans, etc. You must also maintain a regular eating schedule and must not skip any meal. In addition to that, you must consume breakfast which is packed full of proteins, vitamins, and nutrients. To keep your energy on a higher level, keep snacks such as dry fruits. Grapes, yogurt packs, and peanut butter with you to fulfill alternate cravings. You can also drink a smoothie as it is very good for your and your baby's health.
What To Eat For A Breastfeeding Diet?
Folic Acid: Folic acid is highly essential for pregnant women, especially for postpartum care. This element helps in preventing your baby from birth defects and continues to protect him/her after delivery also and encourages the baby's growth. Therefore, Folic acid is known as a friend to your heart and a pregnant lady must have 500 micrograms of folic acids each day. For dinner, include black eyed peas, and asparagus on your plate or sautéed spinach in your meal.
Tumblr media
Multivitamins: You must also consume enough multivitamins to be fit and to give a healthy and good life to your baby as well. Furthermore, it will also help you to get relief from the stress and anxiety that women often experience post-delivery. Start with a healthy breakfast and include broccoli, cheese, and yogurt in your daily diet. Consult with the best dietitian if you are over or underweight.
Tumblr media
Plenty of fluid: You might have heard that having excessive water boosts your milk supply but this is a myth. There is nothing like that, hence you must consume plenty of fluids such as milk, juices, and water. This helps pregnant women be hydrated and fit as well as body recover from the physical stress of childbirth rapidly and offers more energy. Therefore, sip water every time you nurse or pump to keep your baby hydrated and yourself as well.

Understanding Juice Cleanses, Fasting Methods, and Intermittent Fasting: Exploring Liquid Diets for a Healthier Lifestyle
Tumblr media
In today's fast-paced world, people are constantly seeking ways to improve their overall well-being. From trendy diets to fasting methods, there's no shortage of options when it comes to achieving better health. Juice cleanses, fasting methods, and intermittent fasting have gained significant attention in recent years. In this article, we'll delve into the details of these practices, discuss their benefits, and provide valuable insights for those considering incorporating them into their daily routine. Exploring Juice Cleanses: Juice cleanses involve consuming only fruit and vegetable juices for a specified period, typically ranging from a few days to a week. Advocates of juice cleanses believe they can help detoxify the body, improve digestion, promote weight loss, boost immunity, and increase energy levels. However, it’s important to note that while juice cleanses can be a helpful reset for some individuals, they should be approached with caution, especially for those with specific health conditions or nutritional needs. Understanding Fasting Methods: Fasting is the practice of abstaining from food or certain types of food for a defined period. There are various fasting methods, including water fasting, where only water is consumed; dry fasting, which restricts both food and water; and intermittent fasting, which involves cycles of eating and fasting within a structured time frame. This article will mainly focus on intermittent fasting due to its growing popularity and potential health benefits. Benefits of Intermittent Fasting: Intermittent fasting has gained considerable traction for its potential to promote weight loss, improve metabolic health, enhance brain function, increase insulin sensitivity, and even extend lifespan. By incorporating intermittent fasting into your routine, you can restrict the feeding window and give your body ample time to utilize stored energy. However, it's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any fasting practice, especially if you have underlying health issues or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Exploring Liquid Diets: Liquid diets involve consuming mostly or exclusively liquids, such as soups, smoothies, and juices, while restricting solid food intake. These diets are often used as a short-term approach for weight loss or as a post-surgery recovery plan. While liquid diets can result in rapid weight loss due to reduced calorie intake, they may not provide all the necessary nutrients, leading to potential deficiencies. It's essential to approach liquid diets with caution and consider incorporating them under the guidance of a healthcare professional or a registered dietitian. Tips for a Healthy Approach: When considering juice cleanses, fasting methods, intermittent fasting, or liquid diets, keep the following tips in mind: 1. Consult with a healthcare professional: Before embarking on any significant dietary changes, consult with a healthcare professional to ensure it aligns with your unique needs and health conditions. 2. Gradual implementation: Ease into juice cleanses, fasting, or liquid diets rather than diving headfirst. Starting slowly allows your body to adjust while reducing the likelihood of negative side effects. 3. Stay hydrated: Regardless of the chosen method, staying hydrated, especially during fasting periods or liquid diets, is crucial. Make sure to consume enough water and include other hydrating liquids, such as herbal teas or low-sugar electrolyte beverages. 4. Focus on whole foods: While incorporating liquid-based methods, it's essential to maintain a balance and incorporate nutrient-dense whole foods whenever possible. Including a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats is vital to ensure your body receives adequate nutrition. Tags: 1. Juice cleanses 2. Fasting methods 3. The Link Between Oral Health And Overall Health
Tumblr media
Having a pretty smile is not enough for good oral health - it is also important for the whole health. The Mouth-Body Connection
Your mouth is a gateway to the rest of your body, and what happens there can significantly impact your overall health. Here are some key aspects of the mouth-body connection:
Inflammation and Chronic Diseases
Poor oral health can lead to inflammation in the gums and, if left untreated, progress to periodontitis. This chronic inflammation has been linked to various systemic conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis. Inflammation in the mouth can release harmful bacteria into the bloodstream, potentially affecting other organs.
Heart Disease
Numerous studies suggest a correlation between gum disease and heart disease. The theory is that the inflammation and bacteria from the mouth can enter the bloodstream and contribute to the development of arterial plaque, increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke.
Diabetes
People with diabetes are more susceptible to gum disease, and the reverse is also true - untreated gum disease can make it more challenging to manage blood sugar levels. Maintaining good oral hygiene is essential for individuals with diabetes to help control their condition.
Respiratory Health
Oral health can impact respiratory health, especially in cases of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pneumonia. Inhaling bacteria from infected teeth and gums can lead to respiratory infections, exacerbating existing lung conditions.
Pregnancy Complications
Pregnant women with gum disease may be at a higher risk of preterm birth and low birth weight. Hormonal changes during pregnancy can make gums more susceptible to inflammation and infection, emphasizing the importance of regular dental care during pregnancy
Cognitive Health
Emerging research suggests a potential link between gum disease and cognitive decline, including Alzheimer's disease. The exact mechanisms are still being studied, but it underscores the need for maintaining oral health throughout life.
Oral Health Practices for Overall Well-being
Now that we understand the profound connection between oral health and overall health, it's essential to adopt good oral hygiene practices:
Brush and Floss Regularly
Brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes each time, and floss once a day to remove food particles and plaque between teeth.
Visit Your Dentist
Regular dental check-ups and cleanings are essential for early detection and treatment of oral issues. Your dentist can also provide guidance on maintaining proper oral health.
Eat a Balanced Diet
Nutrition plays a significant role in oral health. Consume a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains, while limiting sugary snacks and beverages.
Avoid Tobacco and Limit Alcohol
Tobacco use and excessive alcohol consumption are detrimental to oral and overall health. Quitting smoking and moderating alcohol intake can have significant benefits.
Stay Hydrated
Drinking plenty of water helps flush bacteria and food particles from your mouth and can prevent dry mouth, which can contribute to dental problems.
The link between oral health and overall health is undeniable. Taking care of your teeth and gums isn't just about having a beautiful smile; it's about safeguarding your well-being. By practising good oral hygiene, seeking regular dental care, and considering Orthodontics Treatment in Muscat, Oman you can contribute to a healthier, happier life, reducing the risk of various systemic diseases and enhancing your overall quality of life-

✅What is Liv Pure? Liv Pure is positioned as a dietary supplement designed for weight loss, asserting its capability to facilitate fat burning and enhance metabolic activity. This product incorporates a fusion of various natural components, encompassing Garcinia Cambogia, green tea extract, and raspberry ketones. Despite the seemingly positive attributes of these constituents, there exists limited scientific substantiation for the claims made. Additionally, individuals with pre-existing medical conditions, those who are pregnant, nursing, or younger than 18 years old, should refrain from using this supplement. Misuse of Liv Pure could result in severe adverse effects on your health.
Liv Pure serves as a weight loss solution, proposing its potential to suppress appetite and support weight reduction efforts. Among the core ingredients in Liv Pure are Garcinia Cambogia, Green Tea extract, Caffeine, and Apple Cider Vinegar. Garcinia Cambogia, a fruit, is believed to inhibit the activity of an enzyme called citrate lyase, which the body employs in fat production. Green Tea extract features caffeine and catechins, compounds recognized for their potential to elevate metabolism and contribute to weight loss. Caffeine itself acts as a stimulant, aiding in heightened energy levels and fat burning. Lastly, apple cider vinegar is thought to offer diverse health advantages, encompassing the regulation of blood sugar levels and assistance in digestion.
✅How Does Liv Pure Work? Liv Pure represents a weight loss supplement that asserts its capacity to facilitate rapid weight loss by augmenting metabolism, enhancing energy levels, and curbing appetite. The formula operates through a blend of natural constituents, including green tea extract, caffeine, and garcinia cambogia. Green tea extract is renowned for its potential weight loss benefits, while caffeine aids in the elevation of energy levels, and garcinia cambogia is believed to contribute to appetite suppression.
Upon consuming Liv Pure, the active components within the product collaborate to amplify metabolism, resulting in increased calorie expenditure throughout the day. This cumulative effect eventually leads to gradual weight loss. Furthermore, the caffeine content in the formula can provide a boost in energy levels, proving advantageous for individuals grappling with fatigue or diminished energy reserves.
✅How To Take Liv Pure Metabolic Booster? There has been a lot of talk about the potential hazards of Liv Pure Weight Loss Formula recently. Follow the recommended dosage: The first thing to keep in mind when taking Liv Pure is to follow the recommended dosage. In fact, it could potentially be harmful to your health.
Take Liv Pure with enough water: Make sure you take Liv Pure with enough water. This will help the capsules digest more easily and prevent any choking hazards. We recommend drinking at least eight ounces of water with your dosage. You can also take Liv Pure with other beverages such as smoothies or shakes, but avoid anything acidic.
Store Liv Pure properly: It’s important to store Liv Pure in a cool, dry place. Exposure to heat and moisture could cause the capsules to break down and lose their effectiveness. Keep Liv Pure out of reach of children and pets. Do not leave it in your car or anywhere where the temperature can fluctuate.
Be mindful of potential side effects: It’s important to be mindful of any potential side effects when taking Liv Pure. The manufacturer’s website warns that the product can cause headaches, dizziness, and upset stomach in some users. How Much Water Should You Drink Each Day?
Hydration has been shown to boost mood, sleep, and general health and wellness.
But, what is the correct amount of water that your body needs daily in order to carry out its daily activities well and keep you healthy and active?
Calculating how much water you need to drink each day is more difficult than you would believe. This is because hydration requirements vary greatly.
According to the Harvard School of Public Health, sufficient hydration keeps the body operating efficiently, lubricates joints, and maintains body temperature. This, like most things, is dependent on the person. Many variables (both internal and external) eventually influence how much water you require.
In general, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recommend that women consume around 2.7 liters (L), or 11 cups, of fluid per day, while males consume approximately 3.7 L (16 cups). It is not necessary to consume all of that liquids. Whole, nutrient-dense meals and beverages, such as the following, contribute to your fluid intake:
Tea, coffee, sparkling water, kombucha, and coconut water.
But it is not that stable. You may require more water than others. The amount of water you require is also determined by:
A. Where you Lived.
In hot, humid, or dry climates, you will require extra water. If you live in the mountains or at a high altitude, you'll also require extra water.
B. Your eating habits.
If you consume a lot of coffee and other caffeinated beverages, you may lose more water due to increased urine.
C. Your diet
If your diet is heavy in salty, spicy, or sweet meals, you will most likely need to drink extra water.
D. Your Vegetables and fruits consumption
More water is also required if you do not consume a lot of hydrating meals that are high in water, such as fresh or cooked fruits and vegetables.
E. The weather or season.
Perspiration may require more water in warmer months than in cooler months.
F. Your environment.
You may become thirstier faster if you spend more time outside in the sun, in hot weather, or in a warm area.
G. Your level of activity.
If you are active during the day and walk or stand frequently, you will require more water than someone who sits at a desk. If you exercise or engage in any strenuous activity, you will need to drink extra to compensate for water loss.
H. Your health condition.
You will need to drink extra water if you have an illness or a fever, or if you lose fluids via vomiting or diarrhoea. If you have a medical condition, such as diabetes, you will require extra water. Some drugs, such as diuretics, might cause you to lose water.
J. pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, you'll need to drink more water to keep hydrated. After all, your body is performing the work for two (or more).
Some experts, however, feel that you should drink water continually throughout the day, even if you aren't thirsty. whereas water consumption requirements vary, one thing is certain: meeting your own hydration needs each day can greatly enhance your health.
Is it true that drinking a lot of water helps you lose weight?
Many people suggest that drinking more water will help you lose weight by improving your metabolism and decreasing your hunger. A study found that consuming more water than normal was associated with a drop in body weight and body composition scores. Drinking water approximately a half hour before meals can also help you consume fewer calories.
Overall, it appears that drinking enough water, especially before meals, may help you manage your hunger and maintain healthy body weight, especially when accompanied by a balanced eating plan.
RELATED: 6 foods that actually Burn Belly Fat
Most meals contain variable amounts of water. Water is found in meat, fish, eggs, and, notably, fruits and vegetables. Coffee or tea, together with water-rich meals, can help you maintain your fluid balance.
Hydration indicators
Maintaining a healthy water balance is critical to your existence.
As a result, your body has developed a complex mechanism for managing when and how much you drink. Thirst occurs when your overall water content falls below a specific level. This is well balanced by mechanisms akin to breathing - you don't have to think about it consciously.
Using your urine color as a reference might help you determine if you're drinking enough. Urine should be pale and clear.
Furthermore, because thirst processes begin to deteriorate with age, older adults may need to carefully monitor their water consumption. According to studies, persons over the age of 65 are at a higher risk of dehydration.
Conclusion
After all, no one can tell you exactly how much water you require. This is determined by a variety of things.
Experiment to find out what works best for you. Some people may perform better with more water than normal, while others may require more trips to the loo.
To keep things simple, the following criteria should apply to the vast majority of people:
1. Drink enough water throughout the day to get clear, pale urine.
2. Drink when you're thirsty.
3. Drink enough to compensate for lost or additionally needed fluids during extreme heat, exercise, and other indicated reasons.
That's all!

Hello, lovelies! Instead of the spicy #ThirstyThursday content, I thought I'd fluff it up a bit. If you have any requests or questions, inbox is open! THE ART OF WAR: The storm raged outside of the wooden shack, agitating the pregnant dog who'd gone into labor hours ago. Arya comforted the mother-to-be by stroking her head and speaking to her calmly. She was vaguely aware of Gendry preparing a fire to keep them all warm while they waited out the nasty weather. Rickon should have been back by now, but she hoped her brother was thoughtful enough to wait as well. Fortunately, he had Lyanna and Shireen to keep track of the few remaining brain cells he owned.
"That should do," Gendry wiped his palms against his damp jeans and took his place by her side. The fire was small, but it was better than nothing. "How is she?"
Arya glanced down at the dog, whimpering and jittering. She risked massaging the poor thing's back, wishing she could take the pain away. "It's almost time." He nodded, then seemed to shudder involuntarily. "We need to get out of these wet clothes," she nudged her chin in the direction of the fireplace. "At least try to dry them."
The engineering professor smirked. "Just couldn't wait to get me out of my clothes, could you, Stark?" Gendry rubbed his hands together, blowing his warm breath onto them. "Body heat is survival 101," he added with the wiggle of his eyebrows.
She snorted, shoving him with one hand. "You're incorrigible," Arya tried to sound annoyed but couldn't stop the smile forming.
"You didn't deny it, though." HELLO: Gerald glanced down at the open book while his wife bounced their nephew in her lap. He tested the hand gestures awkwardly until he was confident with the flow. Their tutor was still a fortnight away from arriving at their estate, and the lord wanted them to at least have the basics down. When he looked up to ensure Alys could read his lips, he had to pause and watch as she fed the boy a fresh strawberry from their basket of goodies. Maegor gnawed on the fruit greedily. He must have hit a tart section every once in a while because his face would wrinkle and twitch; however, he never stopped consuming it. Alys' laughter distracted Gerald from the babe, smiling automatically at the sound.
Eventually, her eyes lifted and met his. They shared a quiet moment with just each other before he tapped the book. The movement of his hands was still awkward, but he was getting the hang of it. When he spoke, Gerald enunciated slowly so that she didn't misunderstand. "Eat," he brought his pinched fingers to his lips afterward. Alys watched, the mimicked. "Excellent, my love."
They went over several basic conversational signs, some better than others. After a time, the couple paused in their lessons to enjoy the food prepared by the kitchens. Maegor had dozed on the corner of the blanket, leaving the two a chance to cuddle against one another. Alys rested her head against his chest, toying with his hands against her waist. Soon, he hoped, they would welcome a child of their own. Gerald placed a lingering kiss at her temple, content with how life had turned out for them. WOLF HUNT: Rainwood never ceased to amaze Arry as she looked out at the forest area. There was always some grand adventure when she and Gendry went out to explore, and it was the only time they were allowed alone with each other after Davos made it clear he intended to keep them...honest. Not that her boyfriend took advantage of the opportunity. He seemed almost determined their first time would be in a bed. Arry knew he wanted to do right by her, but at this point, she was willing to take what she could.
After an hour into their hike, they found a bridge to sit and rest. Their feet dangled off the side as they sat in comfortable silence, looking out at their new home. Gendry had been quiet all morning, and she wondered if it had anything to do with where he'd been last night with Davos. Curious if she could get him to open up, Arry took their clasped hands and brought his knuckles to her lips. He blinked, brought out of his daze, and looked over at her. When it clicked what was happening, the tension in his shoulders eased. Gendry brought their hands to his lips to return the kiss, scooting closer to her. He wrapped an arm around her waist and brought his head down to kiss her.
"Sorry, I'm not good company today, am I?" He kissed her again on the lips, then to her forehead.
"It's okay," she half-fibbed, "sometimes you have a lot on your mind and need time to figure it all out." Arry leaned into him, inhaling the musky scent from his chest. He was her favorite scent, second to the warm spice of hot cider with cinnamon on top. "Want to talk about it?" She lifted her face to look up at him. "I hear I'm a fantastic listen."

This set REQUIRES the following sets: • Water Bucket – Fetch Water Any ONE of the following for fertilizing: • Natural Nutrients – Large Fertilizer Sack • Livestock Sets – Animal Dung Any ONE of the following for vermin control: • Corn Fed – Vermin Control • Boldly Grow – Scarecrow Army Additionally to make specialty teas, parts or all of the following sets are required: • Herbs, Spice, And Everything Nice – Various Herbs • Ultimate Fruit Collection – Various Fruits
See below the cut for use instructions.
Download Tea - SFS Download Coffee - SFS Download Dalish Tea - SFS View/Download at the Keep
Tea Production It all starts with the Industrial Tea Crop. A plant that enjoys sub-tropical and tropical climates, this industrial field is non-seasonal. Instead it operates on a 20 day cycle representing a standard sim year. As an industrial style field, it still requires no direct maintenance but must be protected from vermin and is subject to a blight disaster occurring. Every 20 days, the field must be re-fertilized to be kept going. To start a tea field, purchase it from the catalog gardening section for $50. Upon placement, a sim has 3 days to fertilize the field with either 3 sacks of fertilizer or any 30 animal dung. If a sim misses this fertilizing window, the field is dormant until 20 days have passed. Upon fertilizing a field will become lush and begin its harvesting cycle. Every 72 hours, a field can be harvested for 5 fresh tea leaf baskets. These baskets can be used to stock the fridge for food points, sold for profit or separated for drying. If a basket is separated for drying, it will produce 1 fresh tea leaf pile into a sim’s inventory. A fresh tea leaf pile when placed in the world starts a drying timer. It takes 48 hours for tea leaves to dry. Once dried they can be gathered back into a harvest basket; thus producing 1 Dry Tea Leaf Basket. A Dry Tea Leaf Basket may be stocked for food points, sold for profit, or separated into Tea Leaf Canisters. These canisters can be stocked for food points, sold for profit, or used to make tea in a teapot. For sims who want fresh tea but don't want to work on an industrial scale, they may purchase the Dwarf Tea Bush (pot not included). This smaller version of the tea bush will produce one basket of fresh tea leaves every three days.
Autonomy Specific Sims can be assigned the harvest chore by providing them with a Harvest Basket. Once placed into their personal inventory, they will autonomously harvest fresh tea leaves. Their harvest will either be placed into their personal inventory or business owners. This means you can gift visitors and employees baskets to get them to work in your home or community businesses. The Harvest Basket can be purchased from the Buy catalog under Hobbies -> Miscellaneous. Note that while the advertising is high for Sims to perform autonomous chores, their desire to work will be based on their personality, needs and distractions.
Brewing A teapot will brew a blend of water, tea, and various other ingredients to produce teas and tisanes. These can be just for food, or produce special effects on a sim. Every cup asks for a 1:1 ratio of any ingredient, and produces 1 cup. Each cup takes 5 minutes to brew. Alternatively, for some teas a sim may brew a batch which asks for five times the original ingredients or a larger version of a harvest item, and produces 5 cups. • Any sim may brew a beverage tea but more advanced teas will require more advanced Logic skills. • If you’re using a business when brewing teas, ingredients must be in the business owner’s inventory for other sims to brew tea as well as the owner. Tea Pots All teapots can be found in Appliances > Small Appliances. Most are slaved to a decorative host version and some have been made standalone. A folder of Master Meshes has been included in the download. Recipe Notepad
*Preface: The ingredients named for use in these teas/tisanes are not meant to be accurate or instructional for real life use. They are also not completely accurate in usage, and were combined based on cross-referencing several internet sources. Tea recipes WILL NOT be changed for “accuracy”.
A handy add-on so that brewing doesn't have to be memorized or even remembered at all. Simply have your sim look up a tea recipe on this notepad and ingredients will be displayed. Sims will gain a tiny amount of cooking skill from viewing recipes.
Pot Heater
This is a deco item with a slot that is meant to be used in place of placing a pot on a stove or such and give the sense that heating via coals is being done. It can be found in Surfaces > Misc. Two recolorable subsets, the coal holder and the rack itself. *Note, sometimes it must be placed on the floor to fill the slot, or moveObjects must be used.
Teas/Tisanes Teas come in a medicinal size only. Cups are slaved to the Pottery Super Set and recolorable. All teas may be placed on various surfaces, however once they are placed they are considered 'in use' and cannot be moved with the moveObjects cheat. Drinking of tea is autonomous. Can be placed on OFB shelves sold in OFB style businesses, will restock from inventory, and won't spoil. All Beverage Teas: Give a boost to energy, comfort, hunger, and body temperature. They have no additional effects on a sim. •Black Tea •Green Tea •Honey Tea •Citrus Tea All Herbal Teas: Give a boost to hunger, and body temperature, and additionally they impart effects on a sim. •Calming Tea: Boosts Comfort, decreases Energy. •Cleansing Tea: Boosts Hygiene. •Energizing Tea: Boosts Energy, Fun, Mood, and Comfort. •Fertility: Increases the change of a female sim becoming pregnant. •Virility: Increases the chance of male sims impregnating other sims. •Invirility: Decreases the chance of male sims impregnating other sims. •Twin Tea: Causes a sim to have twins from a pregnancy. •Concentration Tea: Speeds up skilling like when sims are in the autumn season. These are commands from original potions special teas were based off of and are needed for them to function properly. Additional Notes: • Sun&Moon-Tea_ZCRITICAL_WitchMemoryFix - This file may be removed if you use Pescado's CreatureFixes. This file specifically let's sims get a witch memory when they become neutral witches which is not a baked in maxis behavior. • Sun&Moon-Tea_ZCRITICAL_MiscarriageMemory - This is the Inteen Miscarriage Memory with a name that just matched the set.
From Chin To Yon Rah (Part 20)
She has left Chin. That was her only intent. But she knows that, that isn’t good enough. Not when her WuJing is within walking distance.
It’s desecrated, skeletal shadow haunts her. She knows that she needs to get out from under its shade. There is nothing in the Earth Kingdom for her anymore anyhow and somehow it has managed to instill more hurt and trauma than the Fire Nation had. It is time to go home.
She isn’t sure what she will do when she gets there, she is certain that they won’t even take her back. Or that they will but they will transfer her right back into an institution where she belongs. But she is going to do it. She is going home.
.oOo.
The grasslands are so empty and so vast. And this time she only has her own mind for company. She hasn’t even a mongoose-lizard nor an ostrich horse. And by Agni, her mind isn’t good company.
It yells at her. Chastises her. Mocks her for being too weak to protect herself and her family. Mocks her doubly for letting herself sink so far under. She thinks that she has managed to put herself in a worse state than the one she had been in on the day of Sozin’s Comet. At least she’d had some fight in her then. Some scrap of dignity to be retained. This Azula is simply pathetic. Pathetic and lonely and directionless. More so than before.
At one point, somewhere around a week and a half into the grassland she stops walking. Her feet are sore and her shoes are becoming worn. Her back aches and her belly pangs more often than not, she has nothing to fill it with. Having exhausted all other options, she resorts to eating grass. She finds out the hard way that this is a mistake.
That night was spent without any progress at all. That night was spent doubled over and queasy and heaving. By the end of it her sides ache and her stomach is somehow emptier and achier than before. She thinks that she may be seeing her loved ones sooner than she had imagined.
She is in a much worse state than before she’d consumed the grass. Her throat is dry and her body shakes. She quite literally drags herself for several excruciating miles. Only when she hears the sound of a stream does she will herself to her feet.
And only when she actually sees the stream does she hasten her pace. She is desperate with thirst and near ferally ravenous. She cups her hands and takes mouthfuls of water, lapping at it as though it will disappear if she doesn’t consume it fast enough.
She has the sense to stop for a moment and refill her waterskins.  She is thankful that she had found the courage and willpower to enter Wujing one last time to gather some supplies for her journey.
Hunger makes fishing difficult, but desperation makes it doable. She cooks her first fish while she catches her next few. Her next dozen. She isn’t sure when she will come by her next meal so she eats until she is nearly sick.
Until she feels sluggish as she forces herself onwards. She thinks that she is only delaying the inevitable. The grasslands had been nearly uncrossable with a mount, to take them on foot, she realizes, had been an extended invitation to death.
Occasionally her mind wanders to a more pleasant place. Occasionally the field resembles a hill on the southern outskirts of Wujing.
This hill had been the perfect place for a picnic. The day before, they had made kites. She had made herself a blue dragon, Hajime had made himself a plain diamond with bright and intricate drawings, and Atsu tried his very hardest to make a badgermole.
Food was anything but scarce on this grassy hill. Ojihara’s family had come to join them and with baskets of fresh fruits and vegetables. And by late afternoon, it was a town event.
But to Azula it will always be a family memory. She was only two or three months pregnant then, but Hajime still pampered her as though she were at least six months along. She held her kite out and watched Atsu and Caihong race with theirs down the hillside. She wasn’t sure who the third child was but she tripped and Atsu helped her up. She remembers the feeling of Hajime’s arms wrapping around her middle. The feeling of his lips against the nape of her neck. She remembers the gentle caress of his hand over her bump and the breeze that tugged at her hair. She remembers having cupped her hand over his.
She remembers the moment being ruined by the breeze picking up their picnic blanket and slamming into the both of them. Their kites had knotted around one another. She remembers that she wasn’t angry or vexed. In fact she vividly recalls Hajime practically falling over with laughter as she tried to untangle the both of them from the blanket. If only the kites hadn’t tangled them up as well. Ultimately Seukhyun was the one to free them.
She remembers declaring that she was going to go back to eating strawberries and letting the children play with kites. She remembers Hajime laying down next to her and feeding her the strawberries.
She misses being spoiled like that. She misses hearing his laugh. Hearing Atsu’s laugh. Misses laughter in general.
That day she learns not to take things for granted.
.oOo.
She draws back and Sokka says nothing for a very long time. Agonizingly long. She should have just stumbled her way through an awkward declaration of love.  That probably would have been far less awkward. Perhaps she had gauged their interactions the wrong way. Her face is flushed quite vividly.
Sokka still doesn’t say a thing. He isn’t Hajime and she shouldn’t have made a move so abruptly. She would rise up and make a hasty retreat for her room, but they are still sitting upon her bed. Of course she could retreat to any of the guest rooms or the training room or perhaps  to take another bath just to have a bath…
She hasn’t quite stood fully when she feels a hand come around her wrist. Sokka gently pulls her back to the mattress, still silent. She thinks that he might be looking for something to say. And she supposes that it would have been rude to have kissed and fled.
“Sorry.” She grumbles at last.
“For what?” He asks.
She touches her fingers to his lips. “I thought that you…” he gives her fingers a small kiss before taking her hand and giving the back of it another small kiss.
“I don’t want you to apologize.” He rubs the back of his head. “I was actually kind of waiting for you to do that.”
“You were?”
“Sure.” He replies. “Though I kind of thought that you were going to kiss me while we were gardening.”
Apparently, even when she has the right emotion, she still has the wrong timing. It had been Hajime who had done much of the work. Hajime who had guided her in the right direction. There had been so many little signs and hints along the way. And then he’d ultimately given her their first real kiss. It had felt right. Natural.
This feels different. It feels jarring and frightening somehow. And maybe it is because she is still apprehensive about finding love at all. With anyone who isn’t Hajime. She isn’t sure that it would be fair to begin a relationship when her last one is still so heavily there. She knows what she will do if she should choose to pursue. She knows that she will compare every little aspect of Sokka--every little thing that he does--to Hajime. And how can she do that to him? How can she put him in a position where he’d be second choice to a dead man.
She doesn’t think that she can do this. It had been an impulse decision. A spur of the moment action. She doesn’t even know if she loves him; isn’t love supposed to take time? It had taken her a year to decide to marry Hajime, and months before she even kissed him. It had taken time and she has only been around Sokka for a short while. And yet it feels the same as it felt with Hajime. Sokka is fun. He is patient. He is easy to be around.
She is hard to be around. Hard and awkward and confused.
She stiffly apologizes again, gets to her feet, and in one fluid motion, pulls herself from his grasp and out into the hallway.
Somehow this feels just as wrong as kissing him. She doesn’t want to make a rebound of him, neither does she want to write him off.
Azula steals away into the palace hot springs. She casts her robes aside and submerges herself as though her conflict and distress can roll off of her body with the steam. As though she can scrub her troubles away with a bar of soap and a handful of shampoo. She stays in the water until her skin goes wrinkly. And then a little longer after that.
She hadn’t the foresight to grab her pajamas so she changes back into her day clothes.
Somewhere deep within, she hopes that Sokka will be sitting on her bed when she gets back.
He isn’t.
She thinks that she must love him if it hurts this bad to see that he wouldn’t be waiting on her to get it together. She is a fool and she doesn’t know what she is doing. He doesn’t have time to wait for her to figure it out. Likely, he thinks that she has been playing some cruel game with him, just for the sake of making him upset. It is what she would have done some years earlier.
At least she won’t have to worry about tragically losing another lover. She had a second chance and she has already let it go. And for what?
Yes, she definitely loves him. She would be able to sleep if she didn’t.
