Felt the same kind of insanity grip me, however momentarily, that fueled all my analysis posts however many months ago. Too tired to actually word things coherently right now, but...
I May or may not have a full(ish?) analysis of the Legato & Vash fight a la style of This post analyzing the Trigun: Multiple Bullets fight that got unexpectedly kind of popular. People seemed to really appreciate that one, & I even had some ppl saying it could be cool if I did that for others?
So. Legato fight. Maybe. Feel free to remind me later if u see no mention of it again for over a week lol
#speculation nation#ive been wanting to go back into reading the manga again#ive only slowly (VERY slowly) been puttering along with where i am in my fic#for research purposes with the fic.#i do want to go back through the manga bc i STILL havent done a full reread of it#ive just reread so many different parts of it for assorted research that im probably getting to some 10 or so reads total lmao#i wanna reread it in full tho front to back to sort out any stray details and remember any timeline things i might have slightly skewed.#the problem with reading the manga though. is that every fucking time i look at it. i am consumed by a drive to research EVERY little thing#so me reading turns into 'hm thats interesting. that reminds me of this thing that i know happens in volume 8. let me just check that now--'#and i end up so dreadfully distracted every damn time. bc i end up with all my wires crossed and my attention pointing a million ways#it's exhausting. and so i havent been reading the manga outside of random research dives.#im very good at that. i know every volume of the manga and can find Anything within 1 or 2 mins (at the Most)#which is also kind of the problem lol. fingers in too many pies. so many things to think about.#if i get back into Actually rereading the manga tho you can bet ur ASS ill find more things to make posts about#every time i open up the manga i find new things that i could analyze.#i just havent. bc i dont have time. but. ykno what. maybe i Could get back into it...#remind me later. this is one of my favorite fucking fights with my favorite Fucking panels#and i realized smth about the shit Vash is doing that was making me lose my MINDDDD#later tho. ive been sleep deprived today. and it is time for me to rest.#& yea yea ITNL is still the main focus. but idk i have such a mind for details and i remember So many things about the manga#i wanna show that off to people again. and thus. 1. Smart hives and dancing robot bees could boost sustainable beekeeping
“[Researchers] developed a digital comb—a thin circuit board equipped with various sensors around which bees build their combs. Several of these in each hive can then transmit data to researchers, providing real-time monitoring. [… Digital comb] can [also] be activated to heat up certain parts of a beehive […] to keep the bees warm during the winter[…. N]ot only have [honeybee] colonies reacted positively, but swarm intelligence responds to the temperature changes by reducing the bees' own heat production, helping them save energy.”
2. Babirusa pigs born at London Zoo for first time
“Thanks to their gnarly tusks […] and hairless bodies, the pigs are often called "rat pigs" or "demon pigs” in their native Indonesia[….] “[The piglets] are already looking really strong and have so much energy - scampering around their home and chasing each other - it’s a joy to watch. They’re quite easy to tell apart thanks to their individual hair styles - one has a head of fuzzy red hair, while its sibling has a tuft of dark brown hair.””
3. 6,000 sheep will soon be grazing on 10,000 acres of Texas solar fields
“The animals are more efficient than lawn mowers, since they can get into the nooks and crannies under panel arrays[….] Mowing is also more likely to kick up rocks or other debris, damaging panels that then must be repaired, adding to costs. Agrivoltaics projects involving sheep have been shown to improve the quality of the soil, since their manure is a natural fertilizer. […] Using sheep instead of mowers also cuts down on fossil fuel use, while allowing native plants to mature and bloom.”
4. Florida is building the world's largest environmental restoration project
“Florida is embarking on an ambitious ecological restoration project in the Everglades: building a reservoir large enough to secure the state's water supply. […] As well as protecting the drinking water of South Floridians, the reservoir is also intended to dramatically reduce the algae-causing discharges that have previously shut down beaches and caused mass fish die-offs.”
5. The Right to Repair Movement Continues to Accelerate
“Consumers can now demand that manufacturers repair products [including mobile phones….] The liability period for product defects is extended by 12 months after repair, incentivising repairs over replacements. [… M]anufacturers may need to redesign products for easier disassembly, repair, and durability. This could include adopting modular designs, standardizing parts, and developing diagnostic tools for assessing the health of a particular product. In the long run, this could ultimately bring down both manufacturing and repair costs.”
6. Federal Judge Rules Trans Teen Can Play Soccer Just In Time For Her To Attend First Practice
“Today, standing in front of a courtroom, attorneys for Parker Tirrell and Iris Turmelle, two transgender girls, won an emergency temporary restraining order allowing Tirrell to continue playing soccer with her friends. […] Tirrell joined her soccer team last year and received full support from her teammates, who, according to the filing, are her biggest source of emotional support and acceptance.”
7. Pilot study uses recycled glass to grow plants for salsa ingredients
“"We're trying to reduce landfill waste at the same time as growing edible vegetables," says Andrea Quezada, a chemistry graduate student[….] Early results suggest that the plants grown in recyclable glass have faster growth rates and retain more water compared to those grown in 100% traditional soil. [… T]he pots that included any amount of recyclable glass [also] didn't have any fungal growth.”
8. Feds announce funding push for ropeless fishing gear that spares rare whales
“Federal fishing managers are promoting the use of ropeless gear in the lobster and crab fishing industries because of the plight of North Atlantic right whales. […] Lobster fishing is typically performed with traps on the ocean bottom that are connected to the surface via a vertical line. In ropeless fishing methods, fishermen use systems such an inflatable lift bag that brings the trap to the surface.”
9. Solar farms can benefit nature and boost biodiversity. Here’s how
“[… M]anaging solar farms as wildflower meadows can benefit bumblebee foraging and nesting, while larger solar farms can increase pollinator densities in surrounding landscapes[….] Solar farms have been found to boost the diversity and abundance of certain plants, invertebrates and birds, compared to that on farmland, if solar panels are integrated with vegetation, even in urban areas.”
10. National Wildlife Federation Forms Tribal Advisory Council to Guide Conservation Initiatives, Partnerships
“The council will provide expertise and consultation related to respecting Indigenous Knowledges; wildlife and natural resources; Indian law and policy; Free, Prior and Informed Consent[… as well as] help ensure the Federation’s actions honor and respect the experiences and sovereignty of Indigenous partners.”

Ignition
Once the Galactic Coalition had (without other realistic options) given Humanity an equal position among the governing bodies, despite the fact they were a single planet race, the initial dread of what they would do eased. A little. When they showed how they powered their impossibly massive vessels, the fears of our ancestors who deemed the Responsibility Barrier a necessity reemerged a thousandfold.
The Humans, with a slight grin, said "Solar power, of course."
They took a delegation within the bowels of one of their smaller, civilian research craft, which was still bulkier, better armored, and more worryingly - better armed than most flagships of the other predator-races. Were we not able to see with our own eyes their actual, what they aptly call, Dreadnoughts, from distances you would normally need a telescope, we would have assumed this was their mightiest warship. Yet it was just one of hundreds.
As we passed through the ludicrously thick and seemingly excessive number of bulkheads and shielded and compartmentalized hallways, the ever present hum of raw power beneath our feet gradually became nerve-wracking. What is that? It reminded us of stories told by those who traveled near Black Holes - of the sheer vastness and infinite apathy they felt from the all consuming entities.
A dozen or so biometric gates later, we were greeted by a gigantic sphere, easily a hundred and fifty meters in diameter, an abomination of reinforced panels, wiring, heat pumps, and countless tubes, hanging from numerous power conduits in the middle of an even more massive chamber from behind our observation platform. A true, pure fusion reactor. And there were Humans, in full protective suits at least, working directly next to it within the ominous chamber.
"We wanted to give you a demonstration of our advances in the past millennia, so please observe as we turn on this one."
This one? As in... the power we were feeling was not from this monstrosity? We had to ask.
"Oh, of course not, this ship has three such reactors, we recently performed a full maintenance on this and decided to delay reactivating it for you to see."
The delegates' mouths (or equivalents) were agape. Sure, nuclear fusion is known far and wide, but due to it's high potential for cataclysmic failure, or worse, deliberate destruction, the vast majority of such reactors were mostly found in deep space stations where solar radiation was scarce. Background radiation converters, while efficient at what they do, were nowhere sufficient enough for anything more than as passive emergency battery chargers. And no civilization kept fusion reactors anywhere near populated or colonizeable planets.
Yet here they were, looking at one nearly five times larger than any other known or attempted. And there were three on this ship alone. They counted hundreds of similar size, a few dozen of their Dreadnoughts, thousands of smaller vessels ferrying between the stations, the surface, and other larger ships. Countless world ending bombs-in-waiting right around the Humans' only home.
"Yeah, us science ships get the biggest ones, kinda need the extra oomph for our projects. The military kids like their redundancies, so theirs are smaller."
A slight relief.
"I think their newest capital ship, the UGSF Caliban of York, has fifteen, each about half ours."
A few delegates passed out. Their attendants rushed to salvage some dignity, but Captain Knoslark of this vessel, The Radiant Dusk at Everest, didn't seem surprised or offended and simply waited for the delegation to regain composure before continuing.
"This is my favorite part."
He said quietly with a glint in his eyes, then his tone changed to a more formal and authoritative one.
"Chief Engineer Ira Tameki, status of Reactor 2."
"All green, Captain. She's ready to purr to life at your command."
"Good. Then," his tone shifted once again, to a far more theatrical one as he took a pose, half turning his body and extending his right hand towards the reactor, index finger pointing dramatically. As he pronounced every syllable of the next word, there was a silent resigned sigh from his crew:
"ignition!"
Outwardly, nothing of significance changed. The engineers clicked at their consoles, bars slowly rose and everyone was deliberately doing their best to make it clear they were ignoring the fact that the captain was still in the same pose.
There was a muffled thump from the chamber, then the hum beneath their feet became a rumble for a few moments before steadying back to a now slightly more intense almost-buzz. Physically, nothing all that noteworthy. Mentally, everyone in the delegation was in true shock as they fully understood what they had just witnessed done all too casually:
The birth of a star.

ITEM FILE #2213
ITEM: "Glycon's Grove"
ITEM HISTORY: Broadcast from 1987-1996, Glycon's Grove was a children's puppet show that debuted on public television stations accessible in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa. After three episodes, the anomalous properties of the show were confirmed, and access to public television wavelengths was restricted. An agreement with Glycon's Grove production team (Oddy See) and the Office was reached wherein Oddy See would receive funding and distribution through OPN-approved channels, while all scripts, dialogue, and visuals were sent to the Parafiction Department for approval and study. After a brief interruption, Glycon's Grove was then broadcast nationwide (and in Canada and Mexico through agreement with RCOE and SER) on thaumic wavelengths decryptable by "analog augury"-compatible television sets, cable TV packages catering to the extranormal community, and distributed via VHS consumer hardware.
Glycon's Grove centered around the adventures of the titular Glycon, referred to as a "snake" despite his crude sock-puppet appearance. Glycon, often the energetic but patient voice of reason, would counsel his friends during common children's show storylines of the time, teaching lessons such as manners, the importance of reading and creativity, and honesty. The idea of snakes as "important, friendly creatures" was a common recurring topic. The show took place in the Grove of Olympus, with the rest of the cast being more typically-constructed puppets of a minotaur, hydra, cyclops, aquatic creatures, and in later seasons, a large "Cerebus" requiring multiple puppeteers to operate. Every few episodes, one of "the gods" (played by one of the human puppeteers in costume) would enter the Grove and provide the cast with that episode's challenge or conundrum. "Dio" was portrayed by actor Kenneth Young as a "surfer dude" always holding a family-friendly can of grape soda. "Heff" (Baker) often cajoled the cast into trying his new inventions, while "Arty" (Brown) asked for help in locating her lost pets.
Numerous interviews and investigations conducted by the Office concluded that while each other puppet in the cast (a list in the image above) was credited to and clearly played and voiced by a human puppeteer, Glycon's puppeteer, if they existed, was never credited or seen at any point. When interviewed, other members of Oddy See insisted that Glycon was "just Glycon" and did not acknowledge any puppeteer. During studio tours, Glycon was observed to move around the studio in ways that would be challenging for a human-puppeted character, EG, in one room and suddenly another, manifesting on multiple parts of a sound stage in rapid succession, always behind a barrier that could have reasonably obscured a human puppeteer from any Office observer. Attempts to isolate all visual angles in a given room often failed, resulting in Glycon appearing from a loose ceiling panel or other improbable locations.
Glycon "himself" always agreed to interviews, providing they could be done on Oddy See studio property, citing his "bum leg" as an inability to leave the property. He was at once forthcoming and evasive, simply repeating that he was "a puppet" when asked about his state, and that he "needed a new gig" as one of the reasons he started Glycon's Grove. Interviewers commonly reported Glycon as "charming" or "funny".
Parafictional research into Glycon's Grove and similarities to a mytho-folkloric figure of the same name are ongoing to this day.

hi would you ever post your drawing process? i’ve noticed you do research when it comes to stuff like finding references to age up characters properly, making the characters’ styles accurate for their time, etc.
sometimes you don’t realize how much goes into art besides the sketches, drawing, rendering, all that stuff, so the little things like that which make a big difference in the end is so cool to notice, you’re a really inspiring artist for me! your art style is incredible and i’d love to see what goes through your head before drawing something, if that’s alright with you ofc.
like what’s your inspiration? what shaped your art style? do you use references and how often bc sometimes i see some poses you draw and think ok there HAD to be a reference used for this bc it’s too good but i understand finding refs for what’s going on your head is difficult a lot of times so i just chalk it up to you being skilled enough to guess how the anatomy would work (so much praise for artists like that because??? insane talent! not to say using refs makes artists less skilled or anything 😭😭 hope it didn’t come off that way)
OK WOW THAT WAS A LOT IM SORRY!
oh where to begin…
I usually get ideas of what I want to do, but it’s not until I open the canvas that my hand just knows what to do I guess? There’s times when I can just paste what’s in my head on the canvas and times when I struggle more and I have to look for references/trace poses (which are usually me with really bad lightening around my room or yeah, pics from pinterest)
lol funny story, my one drawing of James, Lily and Harry dancing I recorded myself dancing and got screenshots of that to base the poses on…. I accidentally sent one to a person that was commissioning me at the time, most embarrasing moment of my life
ANYWHOO! In terms of clothes, I have a board for every character where I put like what I think their style entails. Cause I like it when they look like teenagers in the 70s
Here’s my process when i just vomit my idea on the canvas
there are some where I don’t have the patience or the project is too big (ex. the panels) and figuring out the anatomy would be too time consuming, so i trace the pose but i’ve been trying to do that less and less to make myself actually work and get better at anatomy
and what shaped my artstyle? wow that’s a hard question lol, idk
I think i’ve picked things from artists i’ve liked and just created a frankenstein of it, little by little and without realizing it.
not that my art looks ANYTHING like theirs, but these are some of the artists that have inspired me a lot through my art journey
hope i answered your question jsjsjs

One simple way to look at it is to take the rate of emissions reductions achieved in countries that have successfully decoupled, and see how long it would take for them to fully decarbonize. That’s essentially what Jefim Vogel and Jason Hickel — researchers at the University of Leeds and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, respectively — did in the Lancet Planetary Health study. They found that, if 11 high-income countries continued their achieved rates of emissions reduction, it would take them more than 220 years to cut emissions by 95 percent — far longer than the net-zero-by-2050 timeline called for by climate experts. “The decoupling rates achieved in high-income countries are inadequate for meeting the climate and equity commitments of the Paris Agreement and cannot legitimately be considered green,” the authors wrote. In an interview with Grist, Vogel likened optimism around gradual decoupling to saying, “Don’t worry, we’re slowing down,” while the Titanic races toward an iceberg.
[...]
“Absolute decoupling is not sufficient to avoid consuming the remaining CO2 emission budget under the global warming limit of 1.5 degrees C or 2 degrees C and to avoid climate breakdown,” concluded the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in its most recent assessment. Instead of making growth greener, some economists call for a whole new economic paradigm to address converging social and ecological crises. They call it “post-growth,” referring to a reorientation away from GDP growth and toward other metrics, like human well-being and ecological sustainability. Essentially, they want to prioritize people and the planet and not care so much what the stock market is doing. This would more or less free countries from the decoupling dilemma, since it eliminates the growth imperative altogether. Raworth, the professor at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, calls her version of the post-growth agenda “doughnut economics.” In this visual model, the inner ring of the doughnut represents the minimum amount of economic activity needed to satisfy basic needs like access to food, water, and shelter. The outer ring signifies the upper limits of natural resource use that the Earth can sustain. The goal, she argues, is for economies to exist between the inner and outer rings of the doughnut, maintaining adequate living standards without surpassing planetary limits. “Our economies need to bring us into the doughnut,” Raworth told Grist. “Whether GDP grows needs to be a secondary concern.” Vogel and Hickel go a little further. They call for a planned, deliberate reduction of carbon- or energy-intensive production and consumption in high-income countries, a concept known as “degrowth.” The rationale is that much of the energy and resources used in high-income countries goes toward carbon-intensive products that don’t contribute to human welfare, like industrial meat and dairy, fast fashion, weapons, and private jets. Tamping down this “less necessary” consumption could slash greenhouse gas emissions, while lower energy demand could make it more feasible to build and maintain enough energy infrastructure. Some research suggests that reducing energy demand could limit global warming to 1.5 degrees C without relying on unproven technologies to draw carbon out of the atmosphere.

Oh goodness, now I'm thinking about Tits Out Night and Rodiclash because your boob posts are making me think of robots with boobs.
About to be very explicit in the inbox.
Rodimus trying to sabotage Thunderclash by luring him out to his hab suite before the competition to "help Rodimus oil his boobs". Thunderclash does not question why Rodimus needs his help to do it. He is fully ready and willing to do anything to get permission to touch Rodimus's pretty titties.
Rodimus has done some thorough research and may or may not have managed to get some private medical information about Thunderclash's frame. Specifically that his boobs are very, very sensitive.
He didn't actually think his blatant request would work so easily, and he is putting a pin in the fact that Thunderclash apparently will literally not pause to ask how high with his requests.
No, he is distracted by crawling sweetly into Thunderclash's lap and passing him a bottle of oil and presenting him with his boobs.
Thunderclash is practically whimpering as he massages the oil in slowly growing more confident as Rodimus responds by grinding in his lap and letting out little breathy moans that are only partially fake because Thunderclash feels very nice. He's absolutely consumed by carressing and squeezing and gently pulling at Rodimus's boobs which he thinks are pretty and perfect.
He's burning up, and he's already soaked and taking most of his mental fortitude not to pop his panels, but then Rodimus sweetly, calculatingly offers to return the favor. Thunderclash knows he should say no if he doesn't want to embarrass himself, but how can he not take advantage of Rodimus's offer? This may be his only chance.
So he is melting and whimpering the second Rodimus's warm hands start touching him and kneading his breasts and holding and squeezing, which is feeling distinctly less like a massage with Rodimus rolling his nipples between slick digits. But Thunderclash is not complaining.
He keeps getting scolded not to squirm but inevitably does which makes Rodimus sigh in disappointment at him and causes Thunderclash to feel a weird swooping oh no Rodimus is upset feeling but is also combined with deep arousal when Rodimus pinches his nipples as punishment making him shout and squirm worse until Rodimus slaps his boobs and then massages them to soothe it only to slap and pinch more everytime he "misbehaves" and Thunderclash is a whimpering shivering mess.
Rodimus is getting into this a lot more than he thought he would and it only escalates when he feels a bit of wetness come out because boobs are to store excess Energon to share and with enough stimulation they start lactating.
Rodimus tells Thunserclash he has made such a mess and licks it but that only makes it worse.
So soon Rodimus is sucking to "clean up" and Thunderclash is wailing and apologizing and doesn't know when his panel open but feels Rodimus bite him to scold him more for making a mess of his bed and Thunderclash is babbling sorrys while grinding on Rodimus's servo and Rodimus says some stupid porn line about plugging him up to help and neither of them really process that makes no sense because now Rodimus is fucking him while sucking and biting and slapping his boobs and Thunderclash is overloading harder than ever while Rodimus keeps bulkying him and fucking him through it.
By the end, Thunderclash is absolutely limp and satisfied in Rodimus's bed, his boobs bruised and marked up in a way that means clearly he can't go to the competition now. But Rodimus got too distracted and basically fucked him through the entire competition.
hoooly shit i'm getting dizzy. Rodimus and Thunderclash rubbing oil into each other's titties, vents steaming and panels burning hot as they both struggle to pretend this isn't doing anything for them…
Thuderclash getting loopy from all the stimulation, letting more and more moans slip through his throat the longer Rodimus plays with his titties, so unbearably sensitive that his entire array is swollen and pressing up against the back of his modesty paneling. Rodimus groping, slapping, pinching Thuderclash's slicked up boobs without an ounce of mercy, turning that perfect, round pair of perky, fat titties into a bruised, lactating mess. He could finish it here, Rodimus knows that if Thunderclash showed up to the competition and his titties started leaking all over the place he would not win, but Thunders' panels are now open and Rodimus can't stand not finishing what he's started. god i love the thought of Rodimus saying cheesy porn lines the entire time and Thunders just eating it up completely, titties and valve squirting against Rodimus' frantic hands… and oops, they fucked through the entire competition, the winner was already declared, it looks like this was all for nothing.
But Thunderclash definitely feels like a winner.

Because.. Fans aren't always only on the receiving end of a stick, right? Things aren't always beautiful but, since I've been living in a culture that's more or less, filled with great attention towards idols and celebrities, I've seen a lot of idol fans creating a positive influence(this sort of goes for every fandom culture too. I find it being pretty prominent). They love their idol back and and want to become better people. They create a trend and express their love in various ways and I think that's what makes the idols feel happy and fulfilled to carry on. Love goes both ways, and being an idol isn't always about erasing your individuality, it can be the contrary in fact since you get to display yourself out there. It's scary, but that's the whole point of being one actually, because who wants to be an idol to be just a convenient doll? They want to show themselves and make themselves significant and receive the attention and love as well as giving it out there.
Onk attempts to make Ruby say "it's still a fun job" but it really failed to display just how it can be so meaningful and how the job contributes to the world other than showing a few panels and a vague idea of her "shining" really brightly. I think they could have done it a lot better.
Idols are creators, artists, influencers. There are a lot of ugly things about the industry for sure, but they are able to move a lot of people in a very special way. It's a really meaningful job and there's a reason why a lot of people wish to pursue being one despite it being so hard to succeed. Onk really failed to deliver that sort of positive impact the job can have...one can argue that it wasn't that kind of work to begin with, but Ruby's dream is to become one... What I felt about idols, the career, after having seen the last ep was that she has it rough...what about that is fun? It can be, but it's just not very convincing. Her brother died but that's being consumed by the mass as an interesting story and she does concerts vigorously. People get amazed and say she must have been sent by a god. That's basically all that was portrayed, so wouldn't it have been better if we can see just why Ruby feels the job is still appealing for her? How it's worth it to stay in the industry? Was it too obvious that it doesn't need explaining?; Idk; it feels like she's there to entertain the people and be their god(and that does seem to be the message because she is the Amaterasu) but it.. Actually doesn't feel like it's portraying what an idol is in an accurate sense.
Or are the idols in Japan different in nature from the kpop ones?; could be so? And I actually am very unaware of how ugly it can get myself too so maybe I'm not the best person to bring about this idea either(like I said, I don't even know how many members they have in BTS.)
Hehe.. But since I'm here in the land where we're using kpop songs for a protest, I really did become convinced, what they created can bring so much hope, they can bring about a change... I think the piece does have that idea going about a little in the end, but it was handled...very vague. It is a materialistic society we live in and idols have this image consumed by the mass, I get that, but it's not a job that only has to sacrifice and give away...people aren't that cruel. Many try to give back the love. That's what I noticed watching some idol concert recordings earlier, it's definitely a type of career that is sustained through love. An idol can't exist unless they have people who love them, so it's filled with love!
Wish they have better working conditions and are respected as individuals~
The work does initiate me to think about these things, I'll give them that. The authors probably did a lot of research on this topic and maybe that's why the ending feels so depressing? Let's face it, it feels like a bad ending. That's really not what looks like happiness.

Day 005
The three of them walk through the new hideout to Donnie's laboratory.
Donnie: – Remember that failed robbery we did at the museum?
Raph and Leo: – No.
Leo and Rapha watch the soft shell move some levers, revealing a panel of junk on the wall. The two observe the weapons, armor prototypes and other things with some curiosity.
Donnie: – Are you sure, Leo? – of all the weapons of mass destruction there, the turtle ends up picking up the one that seemed most harmless, an old armor gauntlet. – Because I was going to say that it wasn’t that much of a failure,
Leo: – Get to the point.
Raph: – Wait! That's… – he observes Donnie's smile increasing.
Donnie: – At first I thought it was just useless trash, but then I analyzed it and realized it was mystical metal and when I put it on… – Donnie puts on the gauntlet, his arm practically doubles in size and has marked veins.
Leo: – Damn! Instant steroids!… – the slider gapes in disbelief at his own eyes. - Wait a second. You had that thing this whole time and didn't even think about using it in battle?
Donnie: – Talking like that doesn't even sound like he's my twin brother… – he says in a mocking tone and rolling his eyes. – Of course I thought! I'm itching not to use it in battle against Mikey even more, after all we don't want to hurt him. And trust me, this is messy!
Donnie extends his hand, causing lightning to come out of it, completely disintegrating a pile of scrap metal that was there.
Rapha: – If you can do this with just part of the armor…
Donnie: – She must have absurd strength… But it's useless. After all, anyone who wears the armor has their soul consumed. What's the point of having power if you can't use it?
Leo: – I'm not even going to say that I'm surprised you researched this thing, because it's just like you. – analyzes the brother and his naughty smile. – But what's most impressive is hearing you admit that you were wrong…
Donnie: – I wasn't wrong. Breaking into that museum was useless, we got nothing but junk and… that.
Leo: – Exactly! Now we have a bargaining chip, to at least talk to Mikey.
Rapha: – We can't wait until he's after the last part of the armor. We have to go after the mystical metal. We have to talk to him! We have to win back our brother!
Donnie: – In fact, we have to stop him as soon as possible. – He looks at his own arm. – Because if he gets his hands on this… There's no turning back.

Researchers develop increasingly sustainable methods for dissolving gold, silver and copper from recycled materials
Waste from computers and cell phones, solar panels and other discarded electronics are becoming an important source of noble metals alongside mining. Researchers at the University of Helsinki have developed sustainable dissolution methods for noble metals. The extraction methods currently in use consume a lot of energy and are detrimental to the environment. The method of roasting is particularly dangerous for its practitioners and the environment because it releases hazardous chemicals. In developing countries, noble metals are to this day extracted under crude conditions in landfills. Even though advanced hydrometallurgical processes are safer and able to dissolve noble metals, the result is metal mixtures that require further processing. The findings of the Catalysis and Green Chemistry research group headed by Professor of Chemistry Timo Repo have been published in the journal Angewandte Chemie International Edition.

1. These high-tech windows fight climate change – and will save you money
“[“Vacuum-insulated glass”] insulates five times better than double-paned glass. The Enthermal product line holds energy about as well as fiberglass wall insulation[…. T]he energy bill savings offset the upfront cost of the upgrade in two to seven years, depending on the building[….]”
2. Doulas test ways to curb Memphis’ Black maternal, infant deaths
“Research shows they are key to better health outcomes. […] Free of charge, [parents enrolled in this pilot program], in addition to being paired with a doula, get access to free yoga classes, diapers, breastfeeding starter kits, nutritious food and other tangible help that can measurably boost well-being.”
3. Scientists find feeding grazing cattle seaweed cuts methane emissions by almost 40%
“This is the first study to test seaweed on grazing beef cattle in the world. […] Most research to reduce methane emissions using feed additives has taken place in controlled environments with daily supplements. But Kebreab noted in the study that fewer than half of those methods are effective for grazing cattle.”
4. Success for local residents as Florida council toppled over sewage plant plan
“A citizens’ revolt in a small Florida city ousted an entire slate of councilors who were pushing for a new sewage plant to be built close to one of the state’s most pristine and treasured rivers.”
5. Beaver survey aims to show the urban benefits of Chicago's 'ecosystem engineers'
“Urban Rivers is installing [“artificial floating gardens”] along the river to restore native wetland habitats, which provide food and shelter for wildlife, as well as natural spaces for humans.”
6. The future of plastic: Biodegradable, durable, and even edible
“[… T]he composite plastic proved not only sturdy but also more malleable than its core component, hydroxyethyl cellulose. Additionally, since both cellulose and tyrosine are edible, the biodegradable composite plastic can technically be consumed.”
7. Limestone quarries could be vital for wild bee conservation
“Quarries provide valuable habitats for wild bees and other animals and plants that occur on the now rare calcareous grasslands," explains lead author Dr. Felix Kirsch[….]”
8. New England wedding vendors offer help to same-sex couples before Trump inauguration
“Marriage equality isn’t immediately at risk. Trump has said he considers it settled law, but of course it’s hard to take him at his word […] so vendors in the region are offering free or discounted services to queer couples and noncitizens in a rush to marry.”
9. The indigenous women saving India's endangered giant yams
“Since their formation in 2022, the 10 members of the Noorang group have planted and brought back to the community 180 varieties of wild tubers[….] The project is part of [… a] farming initiative to eradicate poverty, provide agricultural training and empower women in vulnerable tribal communities.”
10. The US is making and deploying more solar panels than ever before
“[… D]omestic solar module manufacturing capacity has nearly quintupled since 2022[….] Solar is the cheapest source of new power generation by far, and it’s an increasingly large employer in the U.S., particularly in Republican-led states.”

MonocoDoll's Vile Ventures Mod Report (Play Testing, Bug Fixes, Life Improvements, Guides, Cover Piece Art, and Poll)
Another month has passed. During the month I have been testing alongside a friend that assisted with the testing of the mod. We found a couple of bugs and they were quickly fixed. Additionally, some life improvements were made for the mod as well. Which is what this mod report will go over.
[Bug Fixes]
-Fixed Origins for the Stoner moodlet and Feeling Anxious. They should now appear.
-Replaced Start Sweating moodlet with a custom Start Sweating moodlet. As previously it would automatically be removed when sim was not hot. Even though the moodlet was added due to a drug withdrawal.
-Alarm Notifications were still present for Drug Withdrawals. These have now been removed. They were initially in there for testing when implementing them.
-Fixed Issue with Pizzo Pipe and Lighter getting stuck on hands if the Smoking Meth Interaction was cancelled early.
-Fixed issue with Drug Consumption reactions that was causing error scripts when you smoked in public in front of sims that were not in your relationship panel. Now only sims that you have met(Are in your relationship panel) will react to your sim consuming drugs.
-Added missing origin to the Has Quit Xanax moodlet
-Fixed spelling error on the succesful bribe notification. Previously stated the word crops instead of cops.
-Fixed pathing for the "Research Psychedelics" interaction on the computer. Previously was not nested inside the Vile Ventures pie menu with the other research drug interactions
-Added missing Greyed Out Message when you do not have a Baggy for collecting Cured Cannabis.
-When using the Chemistry Table the Process Drugs interaction no longer appears if a sim is already using the Chemistry Table.
-The Lay Low interaction is now greyed out when the sim already has the laying low moodlet.
-The option to sell drugs to infants, toddlers, and children no longer appear.
-Changed Wording of consuming Meth interaction from "Snorting Meth" to "Smoking Meth"
-Fixed bug where greyed out message "Already Laundering Money"appeared on other rabbitholes that your sim did not own.
-Added Inventory Interaction "Check Purple Haze Quality" to Purple Haze Baggy.
-Fixed Bug where cops would not be called when failing to bribe an individual who is calling the cops. This would occur when your sim had Charisma skill between 6-8
-Fixed Bug in which money would not be received from laundering money, if you had saved and left the game before the laundering moodlet expired.
-Fixed error in which your sims name would not appear on a notification pop up when your sim lost all their rehab progress after starting to reuse the drugs they are addicted to.
-Fixed gamebreaking bug in which if you sold drugs in University and got the cops called, Your sim would be deleted. This would happen because the University world had no Police Station, therefore the scenario would fail and delete the cop car. Which at the time of deletion, your sim would be on it. Now however, if your sim is in University, they will spend their sentence in the Administrative Center. Therefore, Dealing Drugs is compatible with the normal worlds and University. Since vacation worlds have no rabbitholes. Dealing Drugs in vacation worlds will not be possible to avoid the deletion of your sims.
-Fixed gamebreaking bug in which if you sold drugs Into The Future and got the cops called, your sim would be deleted. This would happen because Into The Future world had no Police Station, therefore the scenario would fail and delete the cop car. Which at the time of deletion, your sim would be on it. Now however, if your sim is in The Future world, they will spend their sentence in City Hall. Therefore Dealing Drugs is compatible with Into The Future world. Since vacation worlds have no rabbitholes. Dealing Drugs in vacation worlds will not be possible to avoid the deletion of your sims.
-In University, Into The Future, and Vacation worlds, you may be able to call in supply from your rackets. However, if you don't own any production rackets in that world, then when you open the box that will contain your supply, you will not receive any product. It is best to only open the packages in worlds that you own your production rackets. For example, lets say you own three Cocaine Production Rackets with no upgrades. You are currently in the normal world, and call in supply. A packaged box is delivered to your residency, you open the box and you gain 60 Cocaine Bricks. Now had you opened the box outside of the normal world you would have received nothing when opening the package, because you own no production rackets in either of the University, Vacation, or In The Future worlds.
-Fixed Bug, in which a heir that you selected did not inherit your rackets when you died.
[Life Improvements]
-Using a Substance for the first time will never cause addiction. Only when you then start using it after your first time.
-Decreased Autonomy for taking drugs. Instead of 60 it is now -20. Friend reported that their sim kept using the product they wanted to sell.
-You are now able to select up to 4 drugs during the sell menu interactions. Previously you would have had to select Seal The Deal interaction 4 times. But now you only have to select it once. Great thanks to my friend who motivated me to add this life improvement.
-Decreased the time it takes for the "On The Run" moodlet to expire to around 20 minutes instead of an hour. Now there is urgency to leave the area if the cops are being called.
-If you obtain the Drug Dealing skill, the Chemistry Table will have a greyed out message displaying the necessary skill level to produce drugs if you do not already meet the skill level thresholds.
-Added Tunable's for duration of smoking animations. Such as with a Pizzo Pipe, Joints, Blunts, Bongs, And Vaporizers. By Default all are 30 minutes.
-Minor edit, Extended availability hours for Smuggling drugs from 8:00PM-12:00AM to 8:00PM-4:00AM
[Guides For MonocoDoll's Vile Ventures Mod]
-MonocoDoll's Vile Ventures (Drug Consumption Guide)
This guide will go over how to obtain drugs W/out Drug Dealing skill, Methods to Consume Drugs, Effects of Drugs, Addiction, Withdrawals, Overdoses, Quitting Addiction, and Steroid Mechanics.
-MonocoDoll's Vile Ventures (Drug Dealing Guide)
This guide will go over how to assign A Drug Dealer NPC, Getting Permission to Deal Drugs, How To Get Inventory, How To Gain Clients, Sales & Transactions, Smuggling Drugs, Methods Of Making Dirty Simoleans Usable, Racket Inheritance, Jailing System, Heat Level System, and Tips For Effective Drug Dealing from the friend that assisted me in testing the mod.
- MonocoDoll's Vile Ventures (Drug Tunable Guide)
This guide will simply go over the tunables and explain what they effect.
[Cover Piece Art]
Another nice detail that will go alongside the release of the mod is an art piece for the mod. This cover piece is finished and will be used when releasing the mod.
[Poll]
The playtesting phase is over, as I cannot think of anything else I need to test for the mod for the first release. So with that being said, I believe I am ready to release the first version of the mod. All that I need to do now is find a place to put it up for download and fill in all the details which come with uploading a mod.
