book 7 spoilers <3 very long rant im sorry!!

it was never meant to be this way. when he was such an ass to us in the prologue, when he laid those pesky remarks upon us and immediately assuming that we got into NRC as a janitor because we weren't good enough without any prior knowledge of how we were brought here against our will and having to adapt to such an unfamiliar environment where everything - trends, names, history, and even the currency - were different. he didn't know about the throbbing headache we had while the headmage was explaining the school's curriculum and suddenly bringing up the word "magic" into the conversation like it was foreign language.

he thinks he's above us just because we're a clueless student who couldnt cast any spells and took up the miserable job just for the sake of money and to live. he had this one-way "not my problem!!" mindset about us that he dipped the moment after because he never would have suspected that we would grow to be something more important, something more irreplaceable in his life.

he never meant to test the waters, and he's drowning by mistake.

his concern for you gets more obvious as each book advances (or was it always obvious??). you're just an otherworlder oblivious to the dangers that lurk in twisted wonderland, so it's only casual for him to fret about when you've been taken into scarabia with minimal escape routes, to be the first one to notice that you were missing among the entourage of people that have been kidnapped, to be the only one to point out that you weren't in the best condition AND suggesting to bring you back home in case the party was all too much. he knows how vulnerable you are, and he jumps into action as quick as possible because that's basically his brand. nothing deeper!!! (unknown dangers lurk around you on the daily, but you lurk in his mind so much more than he lets on. you're probably more used to the dangers of magic than he's used to the thought of you occupying his mind 24/7. isnt that ironic)

and he didn't consider the complications of how dangerous it could be for the headmage to send us back to our original world, possibly damaging the very fabrics of time and space and ceasing to exist while transporting - he just instantly goes to the part where the news was positive and that we could travel between Twisted Wonderland and earth in one piece, blocking out his surroundings just to see your smile, as that was possibly the happiest you could have ever been in front of him.

imagine each time he hangs out with someone new, or if someone has gained a romantic interest in him once you've left, he tries to find a part of "you" in them in his peripheral vision. whether they have an ounce of bravery that you had, whether they're as understanding as you are to know that he isn't just a human built of jokes and pranks, whether they won't doubt him like the rest did - as you were the only one who truly believed in his capability to truly lead the rest out of danger.

he could beg for other people to believe in him, to see that his skills could draw out much more if he really wanted to, but he didn't have to do that with you. in a flashing moment of possible failure, he turned to you in a heartbeat, uncharacteristically, desperately calling out for you to save him because he had no idea what was happening. he almost started to lose himself and quickly realises that the power he was wielding so suddenly wasn't some lousy spell, that it could possibly cause someone's life, and you were there to steady him when he needed it the most. a rarity of a scene he entrusted his entire body to you with. you believed in him. you ARE the betterment of him.

you held his hand like a vow, to protect each other and strengthen through every obstacle and turmoil that drives you one step closer to becoming a better version of yourself. your hand, tightly coiled around his, radiated the warmth and comfort he needed in his times of darkness and inner conflict.

it should've been you. you're perfect.

and that's why his dream still has you in it. it doesn't have to be one way or the other, you can simply go back and forth to his world and your own in just a snap! he could never dream of you leaving his sight and grasp, hindering him from ever telling you how much you actually meant. he has all the time in the world.

and that's what he wants, but his heart says otherwise, and that's fine. he just wants you to be safe and see him for who he is. you inspired him to take pride in his name, as an ace can do anything!!

I just remembered the It's me that shows up at one point on a mirror and while it could be a ghost... I genuinely think the implication is supposed to be that William was in the pizzeria the entire time and knew that Mike was sleeping on the job and knew he took his brother and was taunting him

While the turtles are staying with April in season one, she has a somewhat hard time keeping food in the fridge. Four mutant turtle teens are no joke as far as appetite is concerned, and the novelty of having 100% new and fresh foods in the fridge at all times is not lost on them. They have to be encouraged a couple times to help themselves, and when they finally do it's like an apocalypse on her fridge.

She also enjoys introducing them to new things during this time. She brings home one of those TUBS of pillsbury cookie dough to make them fresh chocolate chip cookies. Before they're in the oven, Mikey finds her and she lets him have some of the dough.

And then Donnie comes into the kitchen and freezes when he sees them. He looks at the dough. He looks at Mikey. He looks at April.

"Did you let Mikey have chocolate?"

April looks at him. Looks at Mikey. "...Yes?"

Don FREAKS out and smacks the spoon out of Mikey's hand. "We can't have chocolate, we're severely allergic!"

April PANICS. "What?? I didn't know, I'm so sorry!"

"What do you mean you didn't know?" Don asks, clutching his baby brother to his chest like he's about to perish. Mikey looks confused. "You wouldn't give chocolate to a dog, would you?"

April's freaking out escalates. Dogs aren't supposed to have chocolate! She knows that much. "What do I do? Should we—uh—go to the ER?"

"Are you insane?" Don has Mikey practically in a headlock and Mikey is—crying? Choking? "We need a VET, April!"

Splinter, whose dad-sense is tingling so hard that his fur is standing on end, enters the kitchen ominously. "Boys. I hope you're behaving and being kind to our host."

April is like, five seconds away from just dying of sheer embarrassment and worry. She looks at Splinter with huge eyes, about to admit she's POISONED his son, and then Don dissolves into giggles.

She stares at him, open mouthed in shock. He releases Mikey, who as it turns out, is also giggling. The chokehold was doing little to suppress it. Splinter puts his head in his hand.

"I'm just kidding April. We eat chocolate just fine."

She has to take another long moment to process the shock and calm her heart down. Don's laughing so hard he's tearing up.

April has never had little siblings before. She used to wonder what it would be like, and there was a time in her life where she had even wanted a little brother or sister to tease and love.

She did not know the true nature of little siblings. Which is evil, naturally.

She chases Don out of the kitchen with the biggest wooden spoon she has, and Splinter HOPES she catches him.

the slide where it is says divine vivienne is only able to remain in power because of her friendship with the inquisitor does kind of. kill me a bit. in the same way it kills me that when vivienne gleefully states that she has never been forced to live anywhere, the places she lists (celene's palace and bastien's estate) are quite literally tied to people who hold her safety in her hands. her safety is constantly hinging on how much the people in her social circle like her, and unlike other people in the orlesian court, she does not have a powerful family of her own to fall back on. like okay. if she loses favor she's just. fucked.

how would you describe the relationship between sol and viago (at length?) a lot of people in the fandom often characterize viago as very paternal and I wanted yr thoughts

oh mannn

if u have to characterise it in terms of family, i would describe them more as siblings with a large age gap. i usually put them at like an 8-10 year age gap and they met when viago was still a teenager. sol would laugh in ur face if u called viago their dad. they definitely have some sibling behaviours and i do talk abt them in those terms. they are close enough in age to have the trauma bond of growing up in the same bad place rather than sol growing up there while viago was a grown-up agent of that place, if that makes sense, which is quite a key difference to some dynamics i see

but it’s more complicated than just being found family or whatever. sol views the relationship in quite transactional terms because they were a very traumatised kid who would not have been able to rely on anything less solid under their feet. from the start they presented themself as someone little but resourceful who could help him and also be an investment for later. sol worked really really hard all their childhood to be strong enough to “pay him back” for the little he was able to protect them as a kid, and to prove to him that they could be of further use, because they were convinced that one day he would be talon and if they were his then they would finally be safe. ironically it’s viago—who is less openly affectionate—who has always been more aware that he is in this because he cares about them. because, you know, sol was not actually that much help when they first met, because they were busy being, like, seven. it was only later when they kept trying so hard and beating impossible odds that he established sol in his head as always thinking of something and always winning in the end. back then they were just the only little source of warmth in the world

sol can joke around with and get physically close to viago in a way almost nobody else ever is allowed, just bc they always took those liberties and he never stopped them. he thinks they’re rash and impulsive because he has always let them get away with too much, but he also trusts them with his life when danger comes: they often take a bodyguard role, and also if, say, something went wrong with his poisons and he needed help, sol would be the one he would trust to be around him and take care of him when he was vulnerable. (they used to be the only one. other people like teia now being able to fill this role was another factor in sol becoming unnecessary in the few years before veilguard and it destabilising the relationship.) that’s also kind of why they have no fear of him in the way any other crow would fear their talon. he would not get rid of someone whose loyalty is a proven absolute. even when they don’t believe in him caring, they always confidently count on him just being smarter than that

while the love is there, as i like to say, viago’s still a talon of the crows and sol’s his subordinate. a lot of the affection is not being expressed and sol does not expect it, and sol is all smiles with everyone so even their side doesn’t necessarily come through either. viago has ordered them to do some fucked up things, both crow work—sol helped maintain house loyalty and discipline with everything that entails—and undergoing the extremely dangerous rituals that gave them some of their quasi-magical abilities.

at the start of the game, sol is prepared to get themself killed on this mad quest rather than face either going back to the crows, or leaving and losing viago, unsure whether they dreaded more him hunting them down or simply letting them go. (he’s all they have, and they also have like... a sunk fallacy situation where having sacrificed everything else to their loyalty to viago, they physically cannot give him up now. the solas mythal parallels go crazy. minrathous burns because it was not the city viago was in.) by the end of the game, sol has come to the conclusion that he loves them. but they are also now able to ask questions like: if he really loves them, why’d he never try to get them out? if he really loves them, if he regrets anything they’ve gone through, how can he still be a talon of the crows? how can there still be fledgelings in those grim training houses where they grew up, if he loves them?

it’s complicateddd and it always will be. are they the closest thing each other has to family? yes. was the best year in sol’s life the one where they were away from him with varric? yes. is being a crow fundamentally soul-destroying to them and are the best endings for them also probably the ones where they never see him again as long as they live? Well Yes But It Makes Me Sad.

Cole!Trip’s anger is different from every other Trip’s anger. I think of it like a blue flame. It’s not as huge and consistent as other Trips’ anger is, which I think of as an orange flame. His Trip’s anger is quieter and more hidden behind a trained facade, but when you get too close or he gets too caught up and consumed by it, it’s hotter and more dangerous. But he works to keep it under wraps. Instead of immeditaly going to violence, he tries to shut down instead. Like in JFT when Marcia gets up and goes to Cherry, he shoves his hands into his pockets and maybe balls them into fists cause he feels the anger coming but he knows it’s best to just shut down. But then suddenly Paul is yelling and Cherry is denying and blaming them instead of the kid who stabbed Bob and it’s like gas is being thrown into what is normally his small and hot flame. Suddenly it’s like it’s exploding. It becomes a huge and blazing fire that consumes and burns everything in its path.

I lost the post (mb) but someone mentioned they noticed lg’s watch date vs the date in season 2 suggest lg already past cxs’s death in s2 and I think so too, the tone and reaction from lg during s2 and the way the ending was framed I think lg is past cxs’s initial death node. now he doesn’t know when or if it’ll happen at anytime huh?? no wonder he was so panicked during s2 (and ofc revisiting cxs taking a bullet for him ;;)

this one isn't gonna be that long cuz I can't be bothered so,, letsago(disorganized and sloppy as hell too)

What I genuinely want to mention is that Parrot embodies such expectancy for this kind of thing, it's been drilled into the back of his head to run, run, run. He wasn't even mad they betrayed, he was mad WHY they betrayed.

They thought he was the director, that got him so goddamn agitated because they thought HE killed Wifies, that HE is continuously ruining HIS OWN life. I think this is just the few first times he has to do it without Wifies.

He haunts the narrative, I think. Haunting every thought, action, and word of parrots.

It upsets me so much because Parrot was actually settling into BAT, he was--he was leaving the stupid isolation thing behind. And then without a single conversation with Parrot, Bat hunts him down. Like give this bird a break.

Parrot... jumps to conclusions so easily--he didn't even consider Jumper double spied with the wither material, he's so desperate for this to be over--just let them betray and he can run, run, run away.

How much do you think it fucking hurt when Leo said "We don't hunt/kill our own."?

Leo is so goddamn hypocritical in this video, you can the effect it has on Parrot. Leo doesn't even want to acknowledge the fact he did just call Parrot someone who was never apart of them. Plunge the knife and twist it, i guess.

In the end, it gets him closer to the director.

Now, onto that--We all have our theories and I wanna rant about some of them

Wifies being the director <-- something i actually freaking agree with. The director is most notably tangled in PARROTS life- "The voice changer isn't for me, it's for you." "If you knew who I was, youw wouldn't be scared- you'd be terrified." "You already know who I am."

The director puts so much fucking weight on the fact that Parrot would not be able to handle who they actually are. Nobody but Wifies would be able to shake Parrot as much as the Director is claiming it would.

Yeah, but the director being Wifies doesn't make sense for Wemmbu or Spoke, right? The Director is BARELY ever in Wemmbu's POV, and spoke is too early to tell. I reiterate, that, the Director is only ever so tangled up in Parrots POV.

So, yeah, call it stupid but i put all my money on the fact that Wifies is the Director.

Next, the Director being Parrot himself or his CC! self. It just- It just isn't worth it to incorporate into UU. You're taking this 4th wall break in SEASON TWO? when there has been virtually no buildup w it?? It just does NOT seem like a good idea for a plot point in UU. At least not one in season two? Feels like something final, yk?

Another one that's so, so, plausible. Is that the director is future!Parrot- and I am honestly so much more inclined to believe that because it's, actually genius. It would be so, so genius as a plot point. The Director is future Parrot, he knew about the dandelion, Parrot would be terrified to see himself as the director, Parrot already knows who the director is.

It lines up catastrophically well.

Also, Wifies wouldn't do this to Parrot- Why would he? Not the Wifies we know, and it doesn't make all that much sense unless theres something else that can make it, yk, line up.

so, I am becoming more inclined to believe future parrot as the director--im mostly vouching for Wifies cuz I WNAT ODDYSEEYS DUO BACK AUGHJHDS I MISS THEM SO MUCH

PARROTS FIRST ACTUAL SENTENCE TO THE DIRECTOR WAS "WHY DID YOU KILL WIFIES?' IS THAT ALL YOU EVER THINK ABOUT. IS TAHT ALL YOU EVER SAY. WIFIES, WFIIES ,WIFIES AUGH....
