if I try to mess with the eyes on the first one anymore I'm going to lose my mind DBDNDML so here have some self insert art,,,, also the houndoom was largely copied from someone else's art (dvixie/SkyVixie on deviantart, the art seems to have been taken down from their gallery though, I just found the art on pinterest and then had to track down the artist fjfkdl idk why ppl repost art with no credit 😭), I was trying to just get a feel for drawing them so I figured (HEAVILY) referencing someone else's piece would be alright for this sort of personal art thing!!

define "frequently aware of" however you want. define "kid" as legally a minor. define "spanked" as any sort of corporal punishment that would be legal for parents to do to children but be considered assault to do to another adult.
im just curious how aware of power imbalances and whatnot other ppl were as kids, and if whether or not adults used that power imbalance against you makes a difference.

Nah after work today I changed my mind I *am* posting
Tw for a good amount of stuff. If you're sensitive right now, I understand. Come back to it another time. This is not a "delete later" post. I don't care if it's serious, and I'm just a silly blog, it needs to be said and seen where I stand on this
These last few days have been an absolute nightmare for everyone. That's an understatement. Everyone is afraid, or at least people with more than a few brain cells
I work at a morgue. I am employed here long term and it is my full time job. I do body transportation and all the other things a mortician would do. If you could know the amount of people who have lost their lives in these last two days alone, by suicide in itself. The numbers have fucking skyrocketed and that's just in a 30 mile radius of where I live, not counting the other homes I've been in contact within the neighboring cities. The sheer amount of these deaths being that of the LGBTQ community, the transgender community, and various groups that would be considered minorities. I have lost two people I knew for years.
This should have never been this bad.
We are fighting against ourselves at this point. You fought for what? To revoke the rights of people who have done nothing to you?
You don't know how many women are going to die because of abortion bans and refusals
You don't know how many children are going to be ripped apart from their families because of deportation
I don't know everything about politics, not as much as some people Im close to, and I won't begin to throw out some number percentage to prove my point or throw out names and dates. You see it. You're seeing it everywhere. We are all afraid and we have good reason to be
Millions are going to lose their healthcare because of this douche. *I'm* going to lose my healthcare. I was already recommended by doctors to sign a DNR because of my health risks and the possibility of losing my insurance as someone with a life threatening illness
And there is so, so much more. What I'm saying is just scratching the surface
I could go on this rant, but you guys aren't here for one of my tangents yet. Ending on another serious note, if you didn't vote, disrespectfully fuck you. If you voted for trump, an even more disrespectful fuck you. Yes I'm even mad even if you voted for a third party. If you fall into those categories I want you off my blog. You don't stand for what I represent and you sure as hell don't respect the people in my communities
For the people I love, friends and whatnot, please stay safe. Take care of yourselves, turn off the phone just for a few hours. It's understandable to plunge into social media when you're stressed and defeated, but block the tags you need a break from, even if it's just for a day. Talk to the people you love, tell them you love them. Don't let them forget it. I'm out, you can get some hot takes from me later. Goodnight yall

i don't want to sound like i think im better or smarter than other women, perhaps just more intuitive when i say: while it's great that there's more awareness on social media about how rotten to the core most men are about their beliefs and how those beliefs DO indeed impact how good of a partner they will be to women bc of the election results... how are u girls JUST figuring this out now?? ive known this since forever, i didn't need a dramatic election result or anybody to hold my hand and teach me this shit. like ummm yeah actually, if ur bf or husband holds this conservative values, they DO apply to how he sees u; at the end of the day, u are just a woman...
"yah my boyfriend is conservative, but it's not a big deal. we respect each other's beliefs and agree to disagree ❤️." those beliefs include things like thinking women shouldn't be allowed to vote or get divorced, and thinking racial minorities are subhuman with low IQ, and u were fine with that, and u only became not fine with that bc donald trump got re-elected?? how many of these remedial women who are just now dumping/divorcing their conservative jakeys would have stayed with those relationships had harris gotten elected?? it's sooo hard to not throw in the towel and give up on women sometimes LOL
i fully agree that men often lie about their beliefs just to enter into relationships, and women who will choose to continue to date need to be honest with themselves about this and vet aggressively (which includes educating themselves on mens underhanded tactics and whatnot), but tbh most men don't even really need to lie, or lie convincingly, to get by a lot of women. women, especially white women, on average, don't care much to consider a man's political beliefs, social morals, or social integrity when selecting a partner. it's been largely a non-factor to them up until recently. some women really do seem to believe men's political beliefs exist in a vacuum and convey absolutely nothing about his innermost thoughts and desires. get a grip!!!

Ok so right off the bat—THE FIRST FOUR NOTES. The first SEVEN notes, even—you can hear Miles’ Great Revival motif, plain as day. Close listeners will recognize that this iconic ascending minor third and whole step pattern can be heard all over the Investigations soundtrack, everywhere from the cross-examination and objection themes to the character themes—including but not limited to Kay, Lang, and in this case, Ray (there’s even an inverted version in Gregory’s theme that uses a descending half step and major third instead!). What’s really interesting is the use of this motif sort of contradicts Ray’s attitude toward Miles when we first hear the track—it’s played during his initial introduction when he still has that grudge towards him. It’s not NECESSARILY out of place considering even Quercus Alba’s theme uses the motif, but it’s a pretty strong musical foreshadowing that he could potentially be swayed over to Miles’ side, which is indeed followed through on later.
As for the main body of the track itself, it’s pretty distinctly blues-y, making gratuitous use of standard blues chord progressions (Am7 -> D7 and whatnot) and pentatonic melodies ornamented by that sweet sweet flat 5 that I have now dubbed “the Ray Note” because the man has melted my brain (what else is new). One thing worth noting that’s a bit atypical of the genre, however, is the Fmaj7 chord used a couple of times throughout (in Roman numeral notation it would be the VI chord); the first instance of it is about 44 seconds into the linked video for reference. This, in my opinion, is a really clever way of hiding emotional nuance underneath the otherwise upbeat instrumentation and playful melody—the VI chord sounds a bit more melancholic in comparison to everything surrounding it and hints that despite his jokester persona, Ray might not actually be as cheerful as he seems.
And now my favorite part—the synesthesia of it all. Idk if you’ve read my pinned post or not but basically the key of a song has certain colors, moods, scenery, etc. associated with it in my brain and it’s been a part of my life since even before I had any sort of musical training. Joking Motive is in A minor—which is represented by the color gray and its associated moods are those of emptiness and yearning (it’s a functional opposite to E flat minor which is pitch black and represents the crushing weight of despair). And I mean. Considering Ray’s whole character revolves around the void left in his life after Gregory’s death and how he desperately tries to fill it by doing everything he can to bring Miles back to his side? I’d say the key choice fits pretty well. If Capcom REALLY wanted to steal my heart away and make me even MORE smitten than I already am they could have put it just a half step higher in B flat minor (my favorite key of all time. Beautiful midnight blue queen I love her so much) but their key choice reflects him too perfectly so I’m willing to overlook it.

Sexuality Headcanon: bi :] it's ourple just like her. i don't think she especially cares for romance or ponders her sexuality much, but in less of an "arospec" way and more of a "forming human connection with her is a losing battle" way. i usually love arospec hcs and do see aro mingus somewhat often but it's just not something i really see myself.
Gender Headcanon: generally cis woman but i feel like if she learned what being nonbinary was she would try and release and trademark her own neopronouns and make people pay to use them. i do also see her being interpreted as transfem sometimes and i think that's a really interesting reading but not one that i actively subscribe to.
A ship I have with said character: ghghnmnnormingus. it's been really fuckin funny watching the tides change in the fandom on this ship - for a while i'd pondered it but never said anything, and then there was the time period where it was considered a weird cursed minority and i got vagueposted about it, and THEN mich came and singlehandedly pilled the masses and now its just, like, a ship. funny how that goes. but all of that talk aside, i just think they have so much potential in, like, every stage of their dynamic. the timeframe where norm's consumed by his completely one-sided obsession (/neg) with her is SO fun to think about, as is the idea post-canon of them forging a more normal relationship and possibly more. they're two of dialtown's most intricately-written characters imo, and it really shows in how layered all of their interactions are :'] there is so much baggage between them and simultaneously so little (with the point of "norm cares way more about her opinion of him than she even thinks about him") and it just makes the final confrontation of ch3 pay off so damn well. listen to nemeses by jonathan coulton it's THE normingus song to me. ⬇ SOOO ch3 norm @ mingus to me

A BROTP I have with said character: god her dynamics with all the mingling are so funny, i could listen to that group of people babble on literally forever. i wanna hear them talk about non-green related issues i want to hear what this room sounds like when its time to argue about, idk, taxes
A NOTP I have with said character: dialtown does not have that many options for edgelord proshittery but i have seen efforts at the one(1) they have. Unfortunately .
A random headcanon: always has some kind of headwear on, whether it be her trademark little hat or other ones she has made for her, or headbands or headscarves or whatnot. it's mostly cuz her head looks really off to me without the hat so i work in substitutes when im drawing or imagining her in more casual settings
General Opinion over said character: the height of dialtown's writing, her and everything to do with her. dialtown is already a good game but it goes from good to great when mingus takes center stage, imo. she's so interesting and also funny to watch - i think "seems silly but actually has deeper stuff going on"-type stories are best when the silly and the serious are tightly interwoven and you can't really distance them from eachother, and mingus is a great show of that as an inherently super tragic but also super funny character. there's not a word of dialogue she speaks where you don't get the impression of how pathetic and overcompensating she is, and that works both for humor and for sadness really well. i also like, in general, when typically "sympathetic" character flaws are played to be difficult or dangerous - in mingus' case her insecurity and desperation to follow in her grandfather's footsteps, and her compassion in wanting to be one of the only people left who still really care about him, it's objectively very noble- but less so when it becomes everyone else's problem rather than just hers. she has this in common with her grandfather 👍

After giving her blood to the one she loved, Himiko managed to survive at the cost of having to live with anemia. She would've been sent to jail after her recovery and rehabilitation, but Ochako Uraraka decided to take full responsibility of her to keep her urges and needs covered.
As promised, she would give Himiko her blood for the rest of her life.
Thanks to Ochako's help, Toga has been trying hard to be a member of society again, by retaking her studies to finish them, and start studying in the medical field to one day become a hematologist with the help of her heightened senses for blood, thanks to her quirk.
She still struggles with her instincts and fascination for blood, now even more so because of her anemia, but as long as she has the reassurance and acceptance of Ochako by her side, she will be fine.

really glad you mentioned the whole tonal shift in the life series thing bc that thought was actually what motivated me to make that post. i remember people talking about when the Tonal Shift happened and for me it was 100% when keepinventory was turned on. please ramble some more about it all i would love to hear your thoughts esp wrt death games and whatnot bc i think you pretty much summarized my Exact thoughts better than anyone
yeppp Limlife is where it happened to me. as mentioned i think this worked just fine w limlife, i remember when it first happened and i was unsure, but that was on like. the first death. and when we got to see how much people would die in that series, it made sense.
we have only had one season with it after now, and i can say imo i think it was entirely pointless to secret life. i felt like something was off about that season outside of just the new gimmicks, and i realize that keep inventory means no tension/drama of losing items and surviving which meant that the entire focus on that season was really only the consequences of the main gimmick- the tasks.
and the tasks had next to no consequences until certain circumstances (being red life or getting a hard task-- hard tasks being rare, and red lives being near pointless considering 90% of the server had to get turned at the same time at the very end thus not allowing reds to play out their purpose for long). secret life wasnt trying to be a survival series in the same way, it was trying to be a series that handed players ways to keep surviving in means that werent rooted in minecraft's vanilla survival mechanics. there was barely a threat of death unless it was directing people to die, which takes out any traditional survival all together. where as previous seasons didnt bring in some new system to override the survival provided by the game-- you relied on vanilla survival to survive, not an outside modded gimmick.
SL's only worry was about the tasks and if the tasks werent good/interesting/etc then, well. there may not be much to like about some episodes because it otherwise would just be me watching someone interact with others (to the best of their task related abilities) with little threat of death. SL felt like a fun goofy hang out, which does mean it sucked to watch it. it just means to me that it did not achieve what i wanted to feel about a life season, based on how previous seasons made me feel. i would have wanted to have seen the alliances battles i remember of past seasons, for example, and yes i think something as 'minor' as keep inventory plays into all of this.
i dont point this out to keep hating on SL specifically, but im saying it to express how survival changed and why keep inventory can kinda impact this a lot. what makes a death game isnt just the threat of dying for good, its also knowing that you really need to try to survive. and when your armor and weapons are handed right back to you, you lose the fear of when its coming to get you. the anxiety of running back to your friends, or hoping to recover your gear. you dont want to die, not just because you lost one life but also because you know youre not out of the water yet when you respawn. if you lose all your armor when you die, you have to keep worrying until you get back on your feet. it might force you to find help and make new friends. who knows?
maybe that seems harsh but hey, that has never been an issue before, so i dont feel like the concern should be taken to 'what if they die too fast because they keep losing gear?' theyre capable. if anything im a tad worried that the want for content creation feeding into the audience will take priority over the original intention of the game and its survival aspect. i wasnt a fan of SL because i felt like it was constantly feeding the audience things with little focus on it being the kind of survival focused series we had seen prior, and keep inventory + the system of tasks kinda just turned off every other part of what made the older seasons survival/death games imo.
what i need is factions/groups/etc all teaming up and fighting and big battles and desperately clambering away to hide from death. or crawling to the feet of their enemies begging to join because they lost everything. i want them to struggle through each recovery. you die, you lose everything, thats the consequence of playing.

(which is basically questioning "hey, how old would the Ancient Greeks consider an adult woman to be since Aphrodite emerged 'as an adult woman' from the seafoam?". bc Athena was 'fully formed' and is non-sexual when she came out of Zeus' head; but Aphrodite came out of the seafoam as 'an adult woman'?? weird word-choice". esp once you know that the Ancient Greeks treated women, even in their legal system, in a p fucked up way; they had messed up ideas of consent and minimum age, esp for boys; and lots of other things. so, for Aphrodite, the answer generally is that she either aged up to being 18+ years of age or was always 18+ years of age, as most Ancient Greco-Roman art of Aphrodite shows her assumedly in line with contemporary expectations of what "an adult woman" would be: which is over the age of 18 years old. but i just personally have a lot of sympathy for the possible-adultification that may have happened to an underage goddess of love who was seen as a sexual being immediately after her birth.) really, Betty is "whatever age you find acceptable sexually". (which is basically the answer for Aphrodite's "adult woman is what exact age" question.) like, most audience members in the 1930s had no idea what her age was, much less that she often was as young as 13-going-on-14 to as "old" as 16 pre-Hays code; not unless the said audience member came across specific marketing (which i dont think ever advertised her age, but im not a Betty Boop 1930s Posters/Advertisement Expert) or the short itself outright said her age. like, there was a comic that said she was 16 at one point(?) in a very "I am 16 and I will always be 16" Edward From Twilight way (here is a link to the exact panel). but on other stuff, like some of her 80s TV-Movies, she owns a NYC apartment and has a job, all with no roommates or familial financial help, which implies she's probably 18+ or even 21+ years of age (at least to me). and, again, during the years in which the Hays Code was active really made her go the "Madonna side of things in a Madonna/Wh0rə complex" when she was a "mother"/auntie-babysitting, even though by the 1980s Junior had been discarded for classic Betty's design with her red dress for new media and merch (btw here is Junior's wiki page if you want to see him and Betty's Hays-Code-re-designed-outfit). and she is nowadays considered anywhere between 18 and early 20s. so like... Betty's age has constantly been in flux, and there's been debates about it for good reason
(and yeah, some people have been creeps, for sUUURREEEE, but i personally always found "oh Betty is being sexualized basically against her will due to various accidents" relatable and i found her clumsiness with said ñïp-$lïps and p@ñtÿ-$h0ts to be "she's just being thoughtlessly clumsy and isnt aware of people being gross" on par with Hayao Miyazaki and Kiki in Kiki's Delivery Service. like. Before She..." and goes on to show an excerpt saying "Before She Was Whitewashed! [this DM series is set in a black message-board with my response in blue bubbles that have black text, all alligned to the right while any replies to me would be on the left. you can see at the very top of the series the cropped bottom of that Betty Boop fan-art with the pale yellow background i mentioned before. this DM series takes up three images, so the text would not be blurry; otherwise i would have done it as one entire image. the messages i wrote read as follow, though i will add the words [/bubble breaks] to convey when a new blue bubble from me has occurred:

i do have mixed feelings about the misinformation under said art (i love that Betty Boop has been claimed by the Black community, and that Esther Jones lives on in her. but also: no Betty Boop was not intentionally based on Esther Jones; and PBS actually had to publish a correction about spreading the misinformation that Betty Boop was based on her, as well as that "she was originally drawn with dark skin as you can see in this hula short" like nah, no, that hula short was a one-off that happened WAY AFTER Betty's debut, in her first appearance she was a very uncanny and weird looking dog-girl and she was originally drawn with light skin in both that dog-form and her human form. Esther Jones was only tied to Betty Boop after a court case against Helen Kane. Betty Boop was absolutely a caricature of Helen Kane, and Helen Kane wanted to sue the studio behind Betty Boop for doing that. like Helen Kane even had a catchphrase that was "boop-oop-a-doop". but Flesicher Studios didnt want her to win. nc then that meant no more Betty and theyd have a big debt to pay Kane. instead, they insisted Betty was based off of flapper girls in general and named a bunch of actresses who look similar to Helen Kane, such as Clara Bow and even Betty Boop's voice-actress who i forget the name of, and that Betty Boop was based on an algormation of women. but that wasnt enough for the courts. so they ended up digging up some dirt that Helen Kane had been in the audience of an Esther Jones show. and it was revealed that Helen Kane based her baby-voice act off of Esther Jones, and that Esther Jones had songs including skatting (bc that was a Black performer originated talent in jazz and whatnot, and Esther Jones was really good at it, so of course she did it a lot as a Black performer) and even had a song that included the line "boop-oop-a-doop" that wouldve been sung the night Helen Kane attended this Black child's show. also, none of those pictures are of Ether Jones, we have only one confirmed picture of Esther Jones and it is of her as a child. the adult Black woman is speculated to MAYBE also be her but older, but theres no confirmation of that. and the sepia image of someone looking exactly like Betty Boop is a cosplayer, one that is contemporary to us and DEFINITELY not Esther Jones. but anybody can "be" Betty Boop.
Betty Boop was Indigenous Hawaiian for a short, Betty Boop has been Jewish in many shorts. and she even has a new Broadway musical showing right now and that Broadway Original Casting has a Black woman as the Original Broadway Actress of Betty Boop (and maybe her off-Broadway actress was also a Black woman, i forget. but my theory is part of the reason why she is being played by a Black woman is the people who own the rights to Betty Boop are ABSOLUTELY AWARE of how much Black people love Betty Boop and want to honor that representation). and ive already told you before how her age has varied in many different cartoons. she is an extremely fluid character. she can absolutely be claimed by Black people, and she can absolutely be drawn with darker skin. but Fleischer Studios dug up that ticket to an Esther Jones show to shut down Helen Kane. like. dont give them credit for something they didnt do, they tried to make Helen Kane feel like she was crazy when they made it VERY OBVIOUS Betty Boop was based on her (tho i also dont think Helen Kane should have copied Esther Jones' act and taken one of her skat lines. but also: Esther Jones didnt really seem to care. she said no to attending the court as she was touring in, i think, France at the time and gave no statement overall. she was uninterested in the whole thing, both Helen Kane and Betty Boop, as far as anyone can tell from her silence as there's no records currently even after her tour and whatnot of her feelings about either woman). so. again, mixed feelings about the misinformation in this post bc "uhhhh, no, thats not actually right, dont give Fleischer Studios props for something they didnt intentionally do" and also "yes, lets talk about Esther Jones and give some attention [/bubble breaks]

ABOUT MY INTERPRETATION.
there are a LOT of books I have not been able to read for Warhammer 40k as well as a ton of media, i am going to possibly come off as very canon-divergent and headcanon-based! the books, for me, can sometimes be hard to find, and... well. GW retcons many things. SO, i will often be making headcanons as i try to learn the lore in real time! i.e., with Marneus Calgar, i know the basics of his lore and enough about relationships with other Astartes, but his portrayal will be based heavily off of Marneus Calgar (the comics) and Space Marine II i.e., with the Emperor of Mankind, theres a lot that contradicts with his personality (considering he portrays himself to be however the person speaking to him wishes for him to be like), so i am basing the Emperor solely on the concept of having a 'compassionate shard'-- the compassion that was thrown away prior to the battle with Horus.

i apologize if im misunderstanding ur post like growing up with audhd, it was hell and i was very much isolated from my peers. i did get friends though when i was 12, especially bc ive always been very chatty. but like w my past n whatnot, its soooo hard to let the thing go of "these people dont like you" or "you dont belong." bc its just this Instinctual feeling that i have and i can never tell if im just seeing shit (thanks RSD) or if im right about a group being cliquey as hell. i wouldnt say ive been particularly aggressive about it? i just quietly distance myself from people bc of it. bc its very much like a sickening feeling to have and its so hard to get rid of it. ive seen your reply to the person with aspd and i can safely say that ive never been staunch about my beliefs, atleast not to the point of aggression. im open minded as long as it makes sense to me tbh. like ive had plenty of internalized transphobia n stuff, but after talking to my friend and like separating myself from the truscum community, it was pretty easy changing my beliefs. esp when i realized how unhappy it was making me and how much its hurt others i could also talk abt how manipulative those communities are and how it preys on ppl who are vulnerable. and how its a breeding ground for bitterness. but thats an essay for another day.
I don't think you're misunderstanding. It's a deeply rooted belief that does come from a real validated fear (ND/Autistic people being mistreated for being "different" isn't fake! There are studies that have shown that people without neurodivergent traits treat them differently and worse!), which makes it all that much harder to break out of the cycle. I got lucky, all things considered. I spent a lot of my elementary age being ignored and isolated in my peers, which flipped on it's head when I moved at age 10. It let me develop actual relationships and friendships with my peers because I wasn't seen as weird as a freak, and I was able to merge into existing groups and dynamics super easily :P I'm still crazy grateful for that! It allowed me to socialize!
I think obsessing over some group being "cliquey" no matter what is a bad thing. This includes if they are being cruel to others around them. You being "right" about a "bad group of people" won't stop them from being cruel or let you in on their cruelness, so I've found it's better to just let things go and not interact, instead of becoming more and more paranoid. It's something that takes practice, especially when you've been hurt in the past
it's a fine line between not absolving responsibility and acknowledging that neurodivergent youth is way more suspectible to predatory mindsets and groups, from truscum/"mogai" spaces to straight up alt-right pipelines. It's very hard for a lot of "minorities" (especially white ones) to view themselves as someone who is able to perpetrate harm - "I'm gay, so I can't be transphobic. I'm trans, so I can't be misogynistic. I'm neurodivergent, so I can't be racist!" and so on. I think, by not acknowledging these, we do those same communities a disservice by allowing our most vulnerable parties (which, in most cases, is Black and brown members) to be bullied out by people who have become so coddled and wrapped up in their own sense of "justice" they refuse to see themselves as capable of harm, and [violently] infantallize themselves

The nagi psyche exploration was peak I REALLLY enjoyed it!!!!! The details of nagi being really lanky and malnourished because no one takes care of him and he just eats jellies was also perfect because that’s actually likely the case despite the animators still liking to draw him buff off the bat but the teacher performing a wellness check really hitting the nail on the head and drilling in the whole abandonment neglect stuff we’ve talked about before but ok going back to Aiku too I really love how his like…captain-like features really show up in the way he deals with the team and the little nuances nagi picks up on and his I guess tact in convincing nagi to play soccer? Also pause nagi asking Aiku if he made the right choice and Aiku saying NO but I’d never blame you GOODBYEEEEEE almost cried that was so good also the emphasis of Aiku being a gambler was so funny to me for some reason like yeah Aiku fr a go big or go home dude

YAYYYY I’M GLAD YOU LIKED IT!!! and yeah everyone likes to harp on him having abs and shit but i’m always like nah abs are at least kinda realistic just due to him having insanely low body fat…i need more people to complain about his SHOULDERS AND ARMS??? because i literally go to the gym and you do NOT see that kind of definition without a lotttt of work LSKDFJH but yeah i do think realistically he would be very skinny and spindly and kinda weak because he just does not get proper nutrients whatsoever 😔 and yeah i thought it was kinda unrealistic that none of his teachers ever worried about him?? maybe it’s a cultural disconnect thing idk but yeah that scene was meant to be the teacher being all cheery and “let’s let every kid work hard and try their best!!” at first and then she was lowkey going to yell at him but then she literally felt BONE through his sweatshirt and had to change gears 😭 when i first wrote that scene i was like “wait i hope it’s obvious that she’s being all sweet and gentle now because she’s WORRIED ABOUT HIM BEING SKINNY” and then i went back and made sure to emphasize aiku calling nagi super super skinny in the scene where they first meet because that’s not actually a canon thing and i didn’t want someone dumb being like “erm why is his teacher rizzing him up after she felt his muscular shoulder isn’t he a minor 🤓☝🏻”
OMG CAPTAIN AIKU YEAHHH especially with the egoist bible they really emphasize how he’s a good leader and whatnot but it’s not shown a ton outside of a few interactions during the u20 game?? so i wanted to throw in more of him really taking the reins and handling a team as well as someone as admittedly difficult as nagi is SKDHF like the way he picks up relatively quickly on how to get nagi to agree to doing things with him and all that 👆🏻 but then he’s also not perfect either and he’s prone to teasing people and dramatic pauses and gambling and thinking only about himself HAHA i didn’t want it to be like “perfect manic pixie girl aiku (that is NOT a sentence i thought i would ever write tbh) is perfect and amazing and rehabilitates nagi and makes him normal !1!1!!” because that would a) be super stereotypical and b) not feel accurate to me?? so i went with it being kind of like…aiku is using nagi in a different way than reo was, and you could argue that it was a better way in the sense that he prepared nagi for the role better, but at the end of the day he’s still using him?? but also they ARE friends and they DO care about each other it’s not strictly one-sided or like an exchange or anything like that!!
THAT’S ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENES like we have nagi about to crash out and when he’s asking aiku if aiku thought he picked the right person to focus on he doesn’t just mean in soccer he means in general?? and aiku’s like NO but it’s NOT YOUR FAULT UGHHH idk writing that whole game and the interactions between nagi and aiku during the second half was so AHHHH because it’s not even some weird miscommunication thing like nagi and a certain someone have going on in canon?? it’s genuinely just them coming to terms with the fact that their friendship as it is cannot continue now that they’ve encountered sae and bllk etc (hence why aiku finally admits he should’ve chosen someone else — someone who likes soccer — and nagi finally starts playing and enjoying soccer the way aiku wanted him to) also wait fun fact actually not so fun fact aiku’s last line in the story is “no, i probably wouldn’t have” in response to nagi asking him if he would’ve come back and talked to him again if he couldn’t play soccer well 😭😓 SICKENING TO ME I FEAR!! IT STARTED WITH AIKU CHASING NAGI AND ENDED WITH NAGI CHASING AIKU!! except really it was nagi chasing aiku from the start!! he didn’t even know it but he was always chasing him!!
another random fun fact that’s ACTUALLY fun the high school that nagi and aiku go to is deadass an actual school in kanagawa LMAOOO almost every other character BUT aiku has the team they play for outside of bllk/u20s listed but aiku’s hometown is in sweden and he has no other club listed so i had to make it up and i didn’t feel like looking japanese high school naming conventions (?) so i looked up high schools in kanagawa and followed the wikipedia link to the diff school pages and checked their alumni and EVERY SINGLE famous alumni from sagamihara-yaei high school is a soccer player so i was like “yup okay this is perfect” HAHAHA
AIKU THE GAMBLER if you think about it betting on someone like nagi kinda shows a propensity for gambling but also he mentions gambling in his egoist bible profile at least once and lowkey maybe more than once so i had to bring it up somehow…just be lucky that aiku’s cheating didn’t get aired out (mostly because nagi does NOT pay attention to that)
HOORAY pacing is smth i’m sensitive about so it’s good to know you think it went well 🫡 nagi was actually lowkey a cutie pie in his interactions with like everyone in polar…like his awkward conversation with sae on the bus…him asking dopamine-rush-shidou for advice while he’s literally laying on the field soaking in the…dopamine…him trying not to worry his teammates…also i think it’s important to note that most of the u20s are like 19 and shidou/sae are 18 so nagi being 17 is lowkey like a kid to them KLSDJHF like he’s def the freaky talented introverted little brother of the team 🥹 HELP NIOU STAYED CATCHING STRAYS bro was just trying to support his captain ngl sendou was done kinda dirty too but that was like for plot reasons niou truly did nothing to be gettin roasted as often as he was
karasu had to make his feature HAHA and yeah epinagi is kinda the only place they interact so that’s what i based it on!! plus karasu’s general trash talk compared to nagi’s typical uninvolved self being turned up to the max just felt like they would collide like that…idek where i got that sae insult from but truly that alone carries the fic like it would be 10x weaker without it /hj

BUT i figured if he’s around aiku/is aiku’s bff then his “creepy” vibes just become “#mysterious #nonchalant #aura” like he gets secondhand rizz from aiku…aiku truly tries to wingman in every verse it’s like base aiku characterization atp 😭 but YEAH SAE NAGI INTERACTIONS another random duo that i like arising from this not as much as nagi + aiku or nagi + shidou but they’re up there!! and ofc yk i had to hint at bm that would’ve been like polar’s version of the michael kaiser jawline panel 😩 if we go with the theory that sae and kaiser know each other at least somewhat because of being ng11s that line would be even funnier because it’s basically sae knowing what nagi is like and what kaiser is like and tossing them together just to see what happens/who survives (spoiler alert: nagi because his idgaf warrior energy is too much for michael “crashout” kaiser to handle)
it’s just like a yearly thing now i think i need to block it into my schedule or something KSDHFL but yess if i ever get any ideas for canon aus like this again i’ll def give it a go!! nothing floating around in my mind at present but you never know when inspiration will strike

i think the digitalisation of entertainment has ruined the simple enjoyment of entertainment for me cause theres almost too much of it now
do you think kpop overall will ever change its direction? i dont and never have really cared for tiktok challenges so its less appealling to those who dont partake in these choreographies of kpop groups. tbh I dont particularly know exactly what I like about kpop these days bc its debuting minors so much that im like ehhh its another pretty and young group so what? most often in that case i can just like them for their songs so it doesnt particularly bother me as such yet i feel like kpop still missing something or its been crazy with debuting recently yet groups are neither standing out too much or the members are quite similar to one another or its abt the images and concepts of groups rather than the songs themselves
do you ever think its taken it too far sometimes? like its never heard of less is more and some groups simply have too many members for me to fully care deeply abt each one is quite ridiculous. idk the only way i knew of kpop is through youtube so if we didnt have youtube rn i never wouldve heard abt kpop as they only seem to aim for america
so rather than other using platforms i dont even care if idols dating or no so idfk what exactly interests me much these days cause it seems that kpop is the main music rn and theres not much else that i particularly like abt music anymore so i kind fo have to like something so i dont die of boredom itself yet there isnt much for my age group to follow bc we already had our music phase
i feel too old to be liking whats current but not young enough to care that deeply for every trend or every internet fad there is. its weird to say but i often feel like i shouldve been from an older generation due to the amount of digitalisation of most media and entertainment being geared towards those who prefer online media yet theres nothing else to genuinely like outside of the internet bc its always seems to be centred around it come what may that or music and mvs are so flashy and fancy compared to what i had when i was these idols ages
even the fact that my age would be considered too old to debut in kpop is what is mind boggling to me but then id have to force myself to fit group concepts and whatever else even if they werent my taste so i probs would avoid doing kpop unless it had been from an older generation then id like to have seen more comparison bc there isnt much to compare from older kpop vs now where there is much more
i also think when older idols have said they had more rest time due to lack of internet or social media in general, i think many younger groups could benefit from more rest time yet the speed in which they are doing all these online extra things for their fans and even then they still can get negative backlash due to their fans toxic behaviour so it like they cant really win bc these groups grow up online nowadays but everyone need the internet and so much is done via a computer system so no one can truly escape needing social media either so even if their fans complain idols do too much why are they not more grateful towards what idols do for them?
esp since theres much more idols could be doing instead of being online or trying to go viral for every small detail they ever upload
these idols should thank their lucky stars with how much tool they now have and things like smartphones and whatnot or idfk instagram and other shit like that cause we never had those as kids and in a way i wish we never needed such devices cause again i dont care even if idols get into "scandals" it doesnt phase me bc its mainly that the internet overreact to such minor wrongdoings that often arent even wrong to begin with so thats an other thing i dont care for bc it always seem to want reactions from people or their fans hold it against the idols and make the idols suffer from the backlash that they receive due to people having too many means of expressing a thought or opinion online
i also think trends coming back again it doesnt surprise me anymore, like aespas cd player didnt surprise me so i didnt particularly care for it either, we had those, same for the way tech companies tried to modernise the flip phones that we also had it just aint truly wowing me rn whether it be their merch or even a few songs recently i think bc theres so much of it and its all only really accessible via our screens again maybe if kpop had been known from like before the 90s i mightve taken more of an interest but im like ehhh whatever
whats an even weirder thought is by the time these very young idols get married the internet is not only going tk descend into chaos but i will be long gone from this screen obsessed society, thank god
another thing i find useless to me is pop up shops seem so useless to me bc a) im either in the wrong country for them, im in the countryside thus its quite a trek to ghe nearest one and b) i just dont need to collect merch anymore even for western group i rather just like them for their songs these days than anything else
i think thats the only way to really like a group without getting overly attached to its members that and age gaps as well i find watching younger groups both give me fomo and existential crisis cause i never got to do anything cool like what they have and all the opportunities these groups are given is so so different and generally it all tends to be quite overly fancy and flashy but at the same time i dont know if i care enough tbh im just quite very bored of a lot of entertainment mainly bc its in such short formats tiktok and youtube shorts reels whatever tf theyre called again it only is going to get so much of my attention before i get sorely bored of it bc its not ever going to always be in person and its not something i would need anymore not like the good ole days of an internetless societh when we had cars that had cd players in them and you could generally find a use for some of the tech we had but nowadays it just seems like its load of nonsense geared towards needing our reactions or attachments in unhealthy mannerisms or behaviours that could be quite toxic for both the idols and their fans
if we needed albums then we all should still have cd player somewhere so albums dont go to waste or so they dont collect dust but no one going to be carrying around cd after cd due to smartphones so we dont particularly need a cd player if we can already access the songs on youtube and so on
even streaming ruin so many songs cause then it only matters if songs are getting the most views not whether they are nice songs or not or if they have good vocals or not non of that rlly matters anymore as per le sserras coachella performance it clearly doesnt matter if they are or arent actually talented cause so many groups just aim to go viral online
honetly i dont care how fucked up previous generations were id gladly take a time machine and go back to a non screen based society where entertainment seemed to be more lively and freer than what we have today where its so structured snd formatted mainly only for internet trends
sorry for my long ramble just wanted to get my thoughts out somehow about the way kpop has been recently it just seems much more toxic esp online, i kind of just have to like groups from afar bc i dont want to partake in it yet i also have to find something interesting enough to like and it only seems to be found on social media these days :/

to be honest, i agree that the entertaiment stuff being avaiable (basically almost) everywhere lost the spark of the entertaiment itself. because of it i really doubt the k-pop industry will be back like we used to know the entertaiment the industry has given to us so far, and this applies to all industires in my honest opinion. the social medias are definitely the main reason why the entertainment is overfilled in any genre possible (i am typing generally), like you said, the tiktok videos (challenges included)! i've never been interested in the content that involve promoting their song or anything else that will benefit the idol/s. this might be due to the fact i've never been obssessed stan to the extent i'll buy my ult group's merchandise (and reading what other stans've been doing, not only that..).
i also agree with your opinion related to the fact more underage trainees (boys, girls, doesn't matter) are debuting. i've always been casual listener of the genre, to be honest and even i've had some phases where i've been watching more content of some groups but that was it, you know?
the industry though has always been overfilled with groups and it's not from recently, most of them in the earlier generations (from 2nd onwards as far as i know) didn't work out either because of the majority of the companies were small or the groups didn't worked out. the paradox here is us, non-korean fans (mainly americans and europeans) give chance to more of the groups while koreans are picky, at least that's the impression i have.
related to the recent groups being the same, YES, YES, YES, I'M RELIEVED I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS SEEN IT! personally, from the 4th generation onwards i've sensed the transition from copying other groups' in one way or another to being TOO similar (and I am not saying that this is only about one specific group, I am typing it collectively). this might be due to BTS and BLACKPINK's popularity worldwide for which I am not suprised, to be honest.
the whole industry, not only k-pop, is taking too far with brainwashing us in one way or another through simple stuff (for example what are the friendship between member a and member b). okay, let's say we should have a position on an event x and y (and etc.) but have the majority of us (overall) looked into the alternative medias, the real life, the news? if you believe only the one side, have you ever seen what the other one looks like? nowadays it looks really favoritised for the most of the topics (sorry for switching the topic for a bit) and if you want to change the world and bring awareness, start with your local issues ffs (not cursing to you)! okay, i understand the underage fans who will bring awareness for events that are very important and impactful and i agree that sns for once can be actually useful but DO THE SAME FOR YOUR HOME PLACE, EYE TO EYE, or creating your own brand with an purpose that can change many people's lives! the issue here is that the influencers should be accepted LITERALLY, to have their own mindset, to think independently and to let their fanbase be aware of things they care about! almost all of them (i am including all famous people here in this group because more or less they're influencing us) are basically promoting themselves and the majority of their interests basically make me feel "is that it? your hobbies being too different from what's the reality surrounding you?" like, i shouldn't care at all about it but ALMOST ALL OF US ARE LIKE THAT, it makes me feel INSANE! i've learned about the genre through youtube/psy becoming viral too but the brainwashing stuff didn't become thanks to his song! maybe i've been realising everything just now but it had started in the beginning of the whole entertaiment industry, the k-pop isn't at fault for it, they just hopped on what should be done according to the americans and western europeans!
i also feel old to follow what's trendy nowadays so i changed my actual interests because if i still follow the k-pop often i'll become one of the many people, you know? the time and the generations have changed without a doubt and for some things it shouldn't happen like that, for that i am sad. (this includes the things you said, if i get more deep into the pointless stuff the k-pop industry have become it'll be just too long)
basically, i can relate with you. there are more things to do than following random famous people that will be more worth it in the end :)
