Framed (WIP) Steven Universe Fanfic

Steven and Connie where relaxing on the beach together after a long day of doing nothing but enjoying each others company. The sun was just starting to set beyond the horizon painting the world in beautiful hues of oranges, purples, and pinks. The smell of the ocean mingled with the smell of food wafting from the boardwalk. Connie sighed contentedly and leaned against Steven’s shoulder as she wiggled her toes in the cooling sand. Connie lived for moments like this, moments where she and Steven could just be without worrying about corrupted gems or the Diamond or some other life-threatening danger. “This is nice,” she quietly murmured.

Steven hummed in agreement and twined his fingers with hers, “I wish everyday could be just like this.”

Connie lazily dragged her fingers up Steven’s arm, Steven shivered at her touch. A mischievous grin spread across Connie’s face making Steven nervous. “Connie… what are you doing?”

Connie poked Steven in the side earning a squeal of surprise, “Connie! You know I’m ticklish!”

“That’s the plan!”

Connie attacked with both hands tickling Steven’s side, Steven fell onto his side as he shook with laughter. He clutched his stomach tears springing to his eyes as he weakly swatted at her. “Connie!” He said through a laugh, “I can’t breathe!”

Connie gave him one more tickle for good measure then leaned back, satisfied. Steven lay panting in the sand, trying to catch his breath. “You’re… going to… pay for that!” Steven wheezed out.

“Oh really? And how is that?”

Suddenly Steven surged forward and sent them tumbling down the beach in a spray of sand as they wrestled. They came to stop, Steven on top of Connie pinning her down by the shoulders.

“Not so high and mighty now, huh?” He teased, sand dusting his hair.

Connie smiled, “We’ll see about that.”

In one swift move Connie bridged her hips, throwing Steven off balance and pushing him towards her head. Steven stumbled to brace himself and Connie took the opportunity to throw low, her arms quickly coming down towards her hips in a motion similar to when one makes a snow angel. Once her arms were free she hugged Steven’s torso, moved up his middle, wrapped around his arm, and rolled him over. Once he was on his back she pinned his wrists to the ground and planted a leg on either side of him. “Ha! Nice try, Steven. Better luck next time!” She crowed.

Steven scrunched his face in mock anger at her and let out a huff of air, “Alright, alright, you win!”

“You now what that means!” She teased. “Loser gets kissed!”

“What a shame.” He said with a smile as she peppered his face with kisses.

“Connie!” She heard someone call behind them followed by the sound of footsteps on the sand. She sat up straight on Steven’s lap and looked over her shoulder, surprised to see her dad making his way towards them. “Dad!” She yelped and quickly put some distance between her and Steven, her cheeks flushing. “What are you doing here? I told you I’d be home in time for dinner.”

“I know, I’m actually here for Steven.”

“Oh? What for?”

Her dad wouldn’t meet her eyes as he pulled out a pair of handcuffs and said, “Steven Universe you are under arrest for burglary. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense."

Glow Week Day 7 fic: Journey's End

So I've been thinking of doing a fic for Glow Week (I didn't in advance bc I didn’t know they took fics for it as well as art!), and I saw the prompt 'Journey's End' and had an idea for a little drabble.

"If she remembers, even for a second, she will burn up. You can never tell her."

Connie had seen this scene countless times since she was a kid, and it still made her emotional even practically quoting it as she watched it.

She slowly noticed, though, that the faint glow of the TV in one direction was matched by an equally faint glow in the other. She instantly recognised the pink aura, and turned to see her boyfriend on the bed, his face burning and tears streaming down his cheeks. The crying part wasn't surprising, but the glow...

"Steven, should I pause it?"

The boy shook his head. "Cmon, there's only like a minute left." So they watched to the start of the credits, a little shaken, and the moment they started Connie crawled onto the bed, coming face to face with Steven, and lightly kissing the bridge of his nose.

The glowing softened a bit with that- it still glowered against Connie’s eyes, but it wasn't as harsh as it had been. "I'm okay, seriously," Steven protested.

"You will be when I'm done with you," Connie replied, as much to shore herself up as because she believed it in that moment. "I'm sorry if that kinda hit a nerve. We don't have to watch it agai-"

"No, I really liked it! You know me, I just get like this when I watch anything really sad," Steven smiled through his tears. Connie held hid hands and he tried to ward off his glowing, but it wouldn't stop. He felt a lump in his throat, and a part of his brain nagged at him. Tell her the truth.

Changing track, Connie offered, "It's OK if you don't wanna talk about it yet. We can maybe talk about it later, or another time, and just cuddle or watch something else right now."

Ironically, that worked as reverse psychology on Steven. "Actually, I do wanna talk about it now." Connie smiled and hugged him tighter. He looked for the words to describe what he felt, and realised the best way might be to link it to what they were just watching. "You know that thing with the memory wipe?"

"Yeah?" Connie tried to hold back her frustration at herself, of course she shouldn't have picked this to show Steven-

"It was really good, it was really sad!" Steven reassured her, stroking her cheeks back. "It just, it got me thinking. I'm scared I'm not gonna get to share my stories from this trip, you know?"

Connie nodded. "I mean, I can hop on Lion or just call you whenever you want to chat!" Haven't I proven that already, she thought to herself.

"Well, yeah, but... I guess sometimes I worry my powers are gonna be out of control again." His eyes darted away from Connie and his glowing seemed to intensify. "What if something happens that hurts me so bad I end up, like, making all of you forget me- or worse?"

He almost vanished into that void of anxiety and self-loathing- and then he felt Connie kiss the bridge of his nose again. "Steven," she said, softly but firmly. "I think we know every side of you by now. And even if we didn't, do you really think you can go through anything worse than you've been through before?"

Steven thought for a moment, and a part of him wanted to protest. But the look in the eyes of his girlfriend, his best friend, his jam bud, told him she was right. "I guess not," he said quietly, and he saw the room dim slowly as his glow faded.

Connie's hands held onto his tightly. "If you wanna go home to check in on Beach City and Little Homeworld tomorrow, I can take you."

"That sounds nice," Steven smiled. Yawning, he added, "but I wanna sleep first. You wanna join me?"

"You know it," Connie smirked, kissing him. She considered one last point, and decided to say it. "Does it help if I tell you she gets her memories back later on?"

"Spoilers!" Steven laughed.

Most of my works are gen fic- with a heavy focus on character study and "bridging the gaps" of canon with lil bonus scenes of what I feel certain characters might've been up to in between episodes. Stevonnie doesn't crash the Star Skipper onto that jungle moon. Instead, they crash on a craggy fragment of rock suspended thousands of miles away from its associated colony, long forgotten. On that lonely hunk of rock is a domed garden. And standing in that garden, just as lifeless seeming as the rest of it, is a pink Gem.

(Or: the beach fight in Reunited, but from Connie's POV.)

Steven’s messy self-corruption has scarred him in a manner that transcends the mere physical. Talk Derby to Me (WIP)

A Steven Universe Roller Derby Fic

It’s been four years since Steven first left the comforts of Beach City to find himself on the road. During that time Connie had graduated from high school and was currently getting her undergraduate degree at the University of Jayhawk in Kansas. Steven loved their nightly FaceTimes and could listen to her talk all day. She’d only been at Jawhawk for a few weeks but she already seemed at home there. Steven was so excited, he and Connie had been planning when he could visit her ever since her semester started and today was the day and the weather couldn’t be more perfect for it! The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.

“In five feet, turn right.” Steven’s phone GPS instructed. Excitement thrilled through him and butterflies fluttered in his chest as he turned into the parking lot in front of Connie’s on campus dorm. He parked his car and texted Connie.

Steven

I’m here!

Connie

Just head on up, I’m on the first floor dorm 137. I can’t wait to see you!

Steven slipped is phone into his pants pocket and made started the search for Connie’s dorm.

Finding Connie’s dorm was harder than he thought it be, the numbering system for the dorms didn’t make any sense and every time he thought he had it figured out it was a dead end! By the time he finally found it he was so relieved. He took a moment to collect himself, running his fingers through his brown curly hair and popping a mint into his mouth, before knocking on the door. He excitedly bounced on the balls of his feet as he waited for her to answer and fiddled with the buttons on the sleeve of his faded blue shirt. It had been so long since they last saw each other in person, what if she decides it isn’t working? What if after all their time apart she found someone else? What if- he was saved from his thoughts spiraling further by the door being opened.

“Connie-!” Steven yelled only to cut himself off when he realized it wasn’t Connie at the door but another girl with curly black hair, warm brown skin, dark brown eyes, and an eyebrow piercing wearing nothing but a towel with a loofah and a soap on a rope in her hands. Steven flushed and averted his gaze, uncomfortable. “Oh, sorry, I must have the wrong dorm I’m looking for my girlfriend, Connie?”

The girls eyes widened in surprise, “Oh my gosh you must be Steven! Connie talks about you all the time! Well, when she’s not studying that is. It’s so nice to meet you!”

The girl adjusted her towel and stuck a hand out for him to shake which he took hesitantly.

Connie’s voice called from inside the dorm, “Lottie, who’s at the door?”

Lottie called back in a sing-song voice over her shoulder, “It’s your boyfriend!”

“Steven? Then let him in!”

“Alright, alright.” Lottie stepped back and allowed Steven into their dorm. It was a small room with a bed pressed to each wall. It was easy to tell which one was Connie’s even without her sitting on it, her side of the dorm was clean and organized with a thoughtful splattering of person touches. The other half was chaotic and messy, it reminded him of Amethyst’s room back at the temple except with less garbage smell.

BBB Butterfly is doing writing commissions

Hello Tumblr fam, friends and associates!

I am making my second attempt at writing commissions! Click the keep reading for all the details!

I'm making writing commissions for two reasons.

Reason #1: my uncle recently passed away and I'm learning as an adult how freaking expensive laying a person to rest is. He had life insurance, but it's not going to cover everything, especially the burial. And the remaining amount will be on my parents' shoulders since the rest of the family can't really help.

I just want to help my parents out in some ways, even if it's just using the money for everyday essentials in the house, like the bills or groceries.

Reason #2: I just finished my tutoring job for the school year. And I don't really plan to reapply for the next school year since it's a part time job and I need a full time budget to achieve my personal goals. Plus, I don't believe tutoring/teaching is for me. But even if I was to reapply, I will still be unemployed until the end of August. And the money I currently have isn't going to last forever.

My commissions are only fanfics this time, which I know will probably limit the amount of commissions I get. But I feel a little more comfortable writing fanfics at the moment than an original short story or poem.

The two fandoms I'm writing for are The Owl House and Steven Universe. I might add more fandoms to the list when I start writing more fics for different series.

What I'm willing to write: romance/romantic ships (happy ending or light angst) and non-romance fics (ex. a platonic or familial centered story)

Ratings: General Audiences to Teen (maybe Mature if it's an adult couple ship)

What I'm not comfortable writing: strong violence/death, explicit sex scenes (I will write suggestive and "fade to black" type of sex scenes but only for adult couple ships), no adult/minor ships

TOH ships I will not write: Luz/Hunter, Boscha/Willow, Amity/With a male character, Belos/With anybody

SU ships I will not write: Jasper/Lapis, Steven/Any of the gems

I may add other ships to the list depending on how (not) comfortable I feel about the idea of that particular ship.

Prices (may adjust at a later date):

1,000 words or less: $10

1,000 – 4,000: $15

4,000 + words: $20

$2 discount on my favorite ships (lumity, amillow, willuz, willumity, lapidot, connverse)

Payment source: Right now, PayPal, but I might use an alternative payment service like cash app or venmo later on.

It might take me some time to get started on these fics since there is a lot going on in my life right now. But I will get to them as soon as I can.
