WHAT MAKES YOU ROYALTY? AN INTUITIVE READING FOR THE LIGHT BRINGERS.
STAR READINGS WITH DEJA!
PICK A PILE. These are for all my girlies who know that their royalty ! No matter what. So From left to right is 1-2, 3-4. Lets go!
PILE 1 - 'The Royal Who Loves The World'
This Princess is all about being one with the earth. Shes connected to the universe and she is a giver & receiver of the divine. Her gorgeous energy is big, bold and beautiful. She has a creative energy that caters to the heart. Her vibe is priceless, no one can ever take it from her. She knows what she wants and she knows who she is. The undefeated. Her knowledge and expertise can train a million warriors to go for the goal. A master at the arts and just knowing of everything that is around her.
Bonus reading : LOVE ABOUNDS
Be thankful for who you are and where you come from. The opening of the heart is soaring & the world is coming to your favor. Trust it. It will all make sense in the future. But for now, be patient. You have a gift in bringing people together. So move closer to the divine and watch the destiny unfold. Never forget it, you we're always closer to divine.
PILE 2 - 'The Girl Who Always Knew She Was A Star'
There is a big, emotional energy coming from this group. Expressive auras and have bright joyous energy. There may have been a lot of lower energy that hovered over you as a child and over-exhausted your aura. But be thankful, because the story unfolds for you to become the Empress you always knew you'd be. Enjoying the fruits of all the past labors in your life have brought you to a point in reality where the unknown feels more fruitful than the linear one. You're wished reality is coming through the divine, spirit guides and answering to the codes they've let out for you. Try uncovering the number sequences you've been seeing. Go to an altar (you can make one yourself) and start prayer and meditation near that area. Focus on the number sequence and let go. The answer will come shortly after. Your heighten awareness of the divine comes from the true knowing of appreciating the seen and unseen roads. You are a beautiful gift to the clouds, my darling. So why let others tell you otherwise? You're a star. So be one.
Bonus Reading : LOVE ABOUNDS + MANIFEST
Okay, Cinderellas ;) You have to let go and make a wish in the clouds. You have to feel it in your soul and breathe life into it. Otherwise, it wouldn't work in your favor. The 'fairy god mother' you've dreamed of as a kid is the women in your life that look after you when no one else does. It could be an ancestor, a spirit guide or someone who is alive and cares for you in the best way that they can. All is well, do your part by making sure that you BELIEVE in the idea of what you desire and you will acquire it through surprised experiences. God Bless.
PILE 3 - 'The Moment You Have Been Waiting For'
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thats the message that I'm hearing. Its like you looked up to the sky and thanked the universe for answering all of your prayers. You looked to the divine for the path and you found your kin. You found your new path and aligned with the greater forces of heaven to do the thing you've always wanted to do. At first you're awareness wasn't out there, you were 'asleep'. But wait. This was destiny coming in to perform a miracle for you, because you had no idea who was under the curtains trying to stop the show. You've guys have been waiting to receive a gift from the ethers on how to move & to proceed, but they didnt show up. Or did they? They listened, they watched, and they saw you working towards something. Working hard. Even if you felt like it wasn't enough, or you felt guilt about your situation. Shame, fear, etc.. All of this added to your rewards in the season to come. Just wait on it. Be yourself, the bright light that the world adores and enjoys even when you think nobody is listening or watching. You are the star of this finale! Congratulate yourself and be the royalty that you know you are.
Bonus Reading : 'A COSMIC FORCE'
So let me be real for a second, for this group the focus was more about what makes you stand out more than royal energy. You have gifts that take dedicated effort. So the energy I got for yall was that you have to let go and focus on what your heart wants. Then doors will open for you easier and in ways you had not seen coming. THATS your royalty. Your's come in through hard work and having drive.
PILE 4 - 'The Veil Is Thinning, And I Am The Surpreme'
Surprise. You've been gifted with a lifetime of golden energy shifting from the inside of your body. Your gift is in the reflection of your experience. Very interesting. So let me explain, You guys are wondrous beings who came here to help the new earth come into fruition. You have gifts that go unnoticed but are deeply felt, penetrating the people around you. The world is turning, and you are in motion with it. The world needs to feel as deeply as possible because this is Mama Earths dream. You are a reflection of what is truly magical about the creator and its beautiful creations. You carry an infinite watch that stops time from being an issue. You're the genius behind a lot of universal thinking, and we'll be the first to come to you and watch the show. You're honest, deep thinker and a vocalist. You carry the tunes and vibrations of the world and the energy you carry makes us like you even more. Dont hate. She's got the magic. This pile has a lot of work they must fulfill before they leave into the horizons. There's a special source in this group that is unmatched and hard to silence, hard to ignore. And thats what makes you a royal gem. My queens :)
Bonus Reading : 'Magic Meets The Eyes'
Because you have this gift of unseen worlds deep in your imagination, try creating outlets for this world to be seen or heard. Creative energy flows through your body and the inner child deserves to be healed, acknowledged and explored. Your mind is incredible and you should use every drop of creativity to make a canvas that can have the world stop and listen to what you have to say. Congrats, this is such a beautiful place to be in.

Hello!
What is your opinion about the animations Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time?
Would you like live-action versions inspired by these animations with actors Lily James and Richard Madden?
@reescrever-as-estrelas I am so sorry for the late answer, I thought this ask got deleted when I lost connection trying to post it, but I just found it safe in my drafts! I saw Twist more often than Dreams, so my opinion might be stale! But I liked both movies when I was younger. Then when I re-watched them, I liked them even more.
After seeing movies like Ever After my knee-jerk reaction to seeing a "Cinderella" character that does covert rebellious acts and works to do things her own way is to get indignant. Because Cinderella doesn't do that. Other characters can do that. But Cinderella obeys her stepmother's wishes and works to make things pleasant for others, even when they're cruel. She doesn't hit back. She doesn't disobey. That's not her.
So when she's doing things her own way instead of The King's (Prunella's) way, or creeping around the castle trying to fight back against the stepmother in Twist, I'd usually be like "no, that's the thing, she's kind and does what would make others happy!"
But see. That's only Cinderella before she marries the Prince. Once she's his wife, she becomes the head woman of that household. Then all of the loving, kind, gentle, caring virtue she always had is meant to turn that household (it just so happens to be a palace and a kingdom, now) into a place of welcome and comfort.
Also, she becomes responsible for the Prince's heart, and the King's, now that he's family too, and living in her home. So the Stepmother and Prunella can't just waltz in and make life harder l, or simply not-as-good-as-it-could be, same-old-same-old, for the men Cinderella's loving. Cinderella is now responsible for them just as much as she felt responsible for the mice, and keeping them safe from Lucifer in her own kind, peace-making way.
It's very in line with her character, once she's part of that family and has the role of "wife" and "Princess," to take those new responsibilities and act accordingly—she's still the kind of girl who tries to make things better for everyone, even her enemies or rivals.l
That's what I love about the Anastasia storyline (which everyone loves, I'm not alone in that.) Cinderella is always kind to Anastasia. She is the only person who sees the good in Anastasia, because she's the kind of girl who's already looking for "her good points." Like she tells Bruno to do about Lucifer in the original. That's the thing I think people don't get about the Disney Cinderella—she doesn't just dream of a happy life where everything is beautiful. She dreams of the best version of the people around her.
Anyway, back to your question! I think a Live Action with either of these plots would work, but personally, I wouldn't want to see Twist made Live action. I don't think Disney would keep Cinderella's kindhearted, selfless character intact if they're given any kind of chance to make her an "action" hero, and having Cinderella sneak around the castle trying to get a wand, confronting her Stepmother, and wrestling her way out of a demonic pumpkin is a little too much chance. But I'd love to see Kit jump out the window.
If I ever got the chance to write a sequel to Cinderella 2015, I would go in a totally different direction. The movie said the stepmother and stepsisters left the Little Kingdom and never stepped foot in it again. But I'd have them go to Zaragosa with the banished Grand Duke (that's the slightly sinister kingdom that wanted Kit to marry their Princess in the first movie.) Then I'd have them try to bring trouble to the Little Kingdom from there.
And I'd probably just put Ella under more strain to do the right thing and be kind to her stepfamily, even now that she's a Princess. And I'd make it harder for Kit to be courageous.
I'd do that by doing two very risky kind of things. The first thing is, I'd have Ella lose her first child during pregnancy, like Anne of Green Gables does. And I know that's a very heavy topic. But I think I would hint that it's because of how half-starved (remember when the servant girl said "you don't look well miss. Not well at all. Why do you stay there when they treat you so?") and poorly treated she was, and how her health had been taking a hit, right before getting pregnant, before she got out of Lady Tremaine's reach. Then, Ella is forced to realize that her stepfamily kind of indirectly were responsible for this new heartache, when she expected everything to be happily-ever-after.
Then I would put Ella in danger from something else. Either her health continues to be poor, or (and I like this better) she goes to Zaragossa under false diplomatic pretenses and gets trapped there by the stepmother. Because after the scare with the miscarriage, plus being in danger, then Kit, the newly married King, would struggle to figure out how to do the right and courageous thing without acting out of fear for his wife's sake. Meanwhile she's trying to figure out how to be kind now that her stepfamily's making trouble for her again, and their harsh treatment caused her to lose a child.
That sort of ups the anti, and the challenge to "have courage and be kind." Because I think one of the kindest and most courageous things you can do is forgive, and not take revenge. And we know Ella said "I forgive you," to Lady Tremaine, but it's very hard to live out forgiveness when you wind up seeing the person again, or they won't quit making a nuisance of themselves.
And then I'd end it VERY happily, where Anastasia and Drisella (at least) get a sort of happy ending of their own, and Ella's skill as a nurturing Queen would come into its climax, and she and Kit would be EVEN kinder and EVEN more courageous in the face of EVEN worse circumstances.
That's what I would do. But I don't know, maybe that's all too dark for the fairy-tale-Pride-&-Prejudice vibes the first movie had.

Last Updated: 26/10/2024
day 1. “that was good work” (Tom Holland x Reader) When you put all your heart into your work it's sometimes really hard to let go.
day 2. “it’s been a long time” (Harley Keener x Reader) The eras in people's lives are all different.
day 3. “I know you better” (Peter Parker x Reader) Just a girl doing girly things while trying to study, have a full-time job and document it all.
day 4. “no, we’re not doing that” (Harley Keener x Reader) Disney is the happiest place on earth!!! It's even better on a birthday 🎂
day 5. “it’s a new day, let’s go” (Harley Keener x Reader) Camping is a great pastime to build friendships and relationships.
day 6. “I’m not giving up” (Sam Wilson x Reader) To stay at Shield High School one's grades need to be above a pass, thankfully they have some great tutors. Part 1 of Once Upon A... Sleeping Beauty Story
day 7. “follow me if you want to live” (Tom Holland x Reader) Do you want a calm environment away from the busyness of the city? Stay at the Elenor Airbnb for all your country essentials.
day 8. “are we happy?” (Peter Parker x Reader) Senior year is a time that goes way too quickly moving away from friends, family and sometimes relationships.
day 9. “don’t listen to me, listen to them” (Stark!Reader) Playing Sophie in Mamma Mia feels a little bit close to home, except Tony Stark will always be there for his daughter, making up for the moments he missed.
day 10. “is this normal?” Being a superhero is a hard life but sometimes it's not super and a different type of hero is needed.
day 11. “well, that worked out great” Opening a bakery is an extremely difficult practice. Especially when the young Avengers are eating the bakery out of house and home.
day 12. “did you hear that?” (Clint Barton x Reader) Being a living version of rapunzel is pretty hard, studying, painting and definitely no parties, normally. Part 2 of Once Upon A... Tangled Story
day 13. “that’s not the point” (Harley Keener x Reader) They just want a hug (and not to fail their Chem test).
day 14. “did you stick to the plan?” (James 'Bucky' Barnes x Reader) Tutoring is an easy business, especially at Shield High School, helping people raise their grades, except what if people don't need better grades? What's their excuse? Part 3 of Once Upon A... Beauty & The Beast Story
day 15. “let’s try this” (Steve Rogers x Reader) At the end of a teaching year some tears are shed and maybe some classroom decor falls.
day 16. “no, I’m not okay” (Peter Parker x Reader) To get Eras tour tickets takes lots of precision and careful timing or a connection to a billionaire, whichever works.
day 17. “strangest thing I ever heard” (Thor Odison x Reader) Reaching out to somebody expecting somebody else is already a mess then finding out that person is not who you think they are... Good things messes are easy to clear up with a few favours. Part 4 of Once Upon A... Aladdin Story
day 18. “you always have a plan” (Peter Parker x Reader) A layed out plan is the best part of a relationship, especially ones which are anchored around birthdays.
day 19. “this is getting ridiculous” (Steve Rogers x Reader) Cinderella never thought she was wanted, she just wanted to spend one good night away from home. Part 5 of Once Upon A... Cinderella Story
day 20. “I saw your eyes light up” (Harley Keener x Reader) Being an Aunt is a special part of a person's life. It opens their life to all new experiences, dreams, and wishes.
day 21. “we’ve done worse” (James Rhodes x Reader) Captain of the swim team is one of the requirements of Shield high, another is the high-quality relationships. Part 5 of Once Upon A... Little Mermaid Story
day 22. “why are we doing this again?” (Stark!Reader) It's a hard life being a Stark, going to galas, getting dressed up, taking private planes, but somebody has to do it.
day 23. “we can fix this, I know we can” (Tom Holland x Reader) Being a stage manager is a difficult job, it's difficult enough without tweets.
day 24. “you didn’t do anything wrong” (Kate Bishop x Reader) Black Ribbion is a seamstress, superhero and manufacturer for the Avengers, but that is not what people talk about.
day 25. “it consumes me” (Peter Parker x Reader) Spending time playing music and then trying to make time for other people is difficult.
day 26. “you were the first” (Harley Keener x Reader) Childhood lovers have been together forever and for all the rest once they're married.
day 27. “let me remind you” (Tony Stark x Reader) Graduating is a key part of the highschool experience but before that there's parties and getting paid. Part 6 of Once Upon A... Princess & The Frog Story
day 28. “just say what you want” (Peter Parker x Reader) Debating is a Stark trait and some win, while others leave the comp early.
day 29. “how did this happen?” (Johnny Storm x Reader) Being room-mates is a hard bet, especially trying to convince Peter that you're not dating.
day 30. “I won’t let you down” Planning for a Stark birthday is a difficult event, only the best can organise a parry which meet the criteria.
day 31. “it’s always been you” (Harley Keener x Reader) Halloween is the best season, sorry event, maybe party? Nobody knows (especially not Peter).

The Beginning
–A Star Is Born
A/N: Grammar is for chumps.
Summary: These two songs represent Ansi's beginnings as a child star.
My Reasonings: I chose a popular song by Shirley Temple to mark the rise of Ansi's child stardom.
A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes is the first song that Cinderella sings in her movie. The main theme of the song is that despite the pain you're currently facing you can't give up the hope that things will change for the better. At this point of Ansi's life she feels the same as Cinderella because she believes this change in her life is only temporary. This song also illustrates Ansi's childhood naivety. She thinks that it won't be long before her life goes back to normal despite the obvious signs that it won't.
Lore: Ansi had always been a tech genius. By the time she learned how to count she was already typing out zeros and ones. Her programming abilities only improved as her father taught her more advanced skills. By the time she turned ten she was more versed in computer code than some senior programmers at Alchemax.
She was so good that her father started bringing her to his job at the Midwestern Alchemax branch. (That and the fact that she was driving her mother, who was attempting to homeschool her, insane.)
Nobody actually believed in her abilities. They thought that she was just a privileged brat that they were being forced to babysit. There were some who had more aggressive opinions that they didn't even try to hide. Ansi had become very familiar with the hushed whispers and dirty looks whenever she entered a room. (She also had to deal with racial prejudice since she was one of the few black people on site.)
Most of the time they just ignored her. The few who pitied her gave her small and meaningless tasks (which only took her a couple of seconds to complete). She never complained to her father about it being surrounded by tech was enough for her.
However, things changed the day a computer worm infected Alchemax's server. It started off slow. Desktops were running slower than usual. But many assumed it was due the precarious nature of the weather in the Midwest. It was impossible for their systems to be breached (Despite Ansi's constant warnings about the major weaknesses in their system). But it wasn't long before the slowness of the desktops went from a minor inconvenience to completely unusable. Panic began to spread across the facility. No one knew the cause of the worm or how it spread. The only thing they could do was stop it before it got to the super computer. Fortunately, Ansi's laptop was the only one unaffected since no one ever connected it to the mainframe. They all watched in awe as she effortlessly took down a computer worm that took the entire programming staff days to just slow it down. If Ansi didn't interfere they would've lost billions of dollars worth of tech. And yet in just a couple of hours Ansi was not only able to get rid of it but completely reverse the state of the infected computers.
(It's quite easy to take down a worm that you created yourself.)
After such a miraculous feat people had to acknowledge her abilities. Soon she was put on bigger projects and given more difficult tasks. She was well known throughout the facility as their very own Coding Princess.
She was almost always at Alchemax. Even when her mother gave up and put her in public school she still went after classes. However, there was always one day in the year where her father refused to let her go with him to work. She knew why. It was the day of the annual progress report.
The one day in the year where the head of Alchemax came to check out their tiny facilities.
The one day in the year where her grandfather visited the area.
(Somehow he always found time for work but could never find time to say hello to his own family.)
She didn't know why her father was so against her grandfather learning about her abilities, but she never pressed him about it. Sometimes she wonders what he would've said if she had asked. At the very least she would've been prepared for what was to come.
No one had expected the director's surprise visit.
Somehow he'd gotten wind of the virus outbreak that had almost compromised the entire database and he was absolutely livid.
Ansi knew of her grandfather's temper but she had never seen the man so red in the face. It wasn't long before he went from fuming to actively hostile, Ansi felt bad for the innocent workers who were standing near him.
After leaving them bruised and bloodied he finally calmed down and said that everyone who worked that day would be fired unless Ansi went back to Seattle with him.
Ansi didn't care too much about the people working there but she still agreed. (It's one of the tech capitals of the US. Of course she was gonna say yes.)
Her mother was overjoyed to finally get recognition from her father while her father was absolutely terrified. He knew what the director was capable of but he was powerless. Assistant director was just an empty title given to him because he was the son-in-law of the director.
So begins Ansi's hellish life as the super genius child star, Niya.

Because I recently went to see WDAS' most recent film, Wish, and because it's their centennial, and because I'm currently listening to a mega-draft podcast of the films, here are my Top Ten Walt Disney Animation Studios films (not my list of personal favorites, the top ten films I would say are the top ten best of the canon):
Beauty and the Beast (1991) - an assuredly told version of the story, an outstanding score, stellar cast and voice work paired with great animation, a highlight of the medium of animation
Pinocchio (1940) - this was their second one out of the gate! i mean there's so much to admire: the shot of jiminy's perspective as he hops to geppetto's shop, the overhead shot of the town, the horror of lampwick turning into a donkey, the monstro chase, everything with figaro and cleo!!!
Sleeping Beauty (1959) - they set out to create a literal moving work of art and they did it. the tchaikovsky score and gorgeous painted backgrounds, PLUS you got The Golden Girls raising a child in the woods, "And now you shall deal with me O Prince, and all the powers of Hell!" FUCK.
101 Dalmatians (1961) - I watched this in its entirety for the first time as an adult after previously only seeing part of it once or twice and I never knew how fucking tight of a film this is. So tightly told. And it looks exciting and charming. A real gem from the studio.
Cinderella (1950) - the part when the grand duke is talking to the king about how the prince would react if the girl of his dreams showed up to the ball and they show the prince reacting to cindy walking into the ballroom, good shit. the message of "a dream is a wish your heart makes" gets a bad rap, but it's a pretty song and sentiment. also this movie has one of my favorite animated scenes where lady tremaine wakes up the stepsisters to tell them about the slipper and cinderella slowly realizes she danced with the prince the night before and she has this dreamy look on her face and then lady tremaine figures what's up and they pull in on her glowing green eyes and it's over for her. also I think this is one of the most gorgeous and elegant animated films. cinderelly, cinderelly!
The Little Mermaid (1989) - this probably wouldn't be on my list a few years ago, but with the live action adaptation this year and its entry into the National Film Registry, I've been reconsidering this movie and it's such a joyous and ✨ magical ✨ animated work with an emotional center that connects with so many who watch it. the YEARNING. ashman understood it. also, glen keane's (i believe he animated this part?) animation on the part of your world reprise is glorious with that fucking hair, pat carroll and the design of ursula, a heavenly match. and menken's delightful score. it's so good.
Aladdin (1992) - this is actually my number one personal fave, it's the VHS tape I watched the most growing up, but I think this is a good placement for it. It's beautiful to look at, it's a full-fledged animated comedy, it's the last of howard ashman's contributions, "friend like me" is one of the best animated sequences ever, aladdin was my first animated crush, i still stan jasmine, it spawned a pretty terrific spinoff series, jonathan freeman's cackle is the best villain cackle, and of course, robin. also, ron clements and john musker are kings.
Lilo & Stitch (2002) - the more time passes, the more I think this film proves itself to be a grand achievement in the canon. the amount of sentiment is just right, stitch is an entertaining creation and his connection with lilo is relatable, i mean the ending scene always gets me with the "it's broken but still good", also the fact that not another film in the canon looks like this one makes it stand out. and the ending shot of stitch's picture attached to the weathered family photo, ugh. it's also a love letter to "weird little kids". i love it.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) - i mean, yeah. it's scary, it's silly, the queen's transformation into the hag still rules. "one song" is an underrated song.
The Emperor’s New Groove (2000) - this movie is legendary. the story of how it came to be is insane. i read that there is actually no completed screenplay of the movie??? that's how much they had to scramble to put this together? i would also put this on a list of great comedy films. eartha kitt, eartha kitt. i don't know what things would look like if we actually got kingdom of the sun, but we are so lucky to have this hilarious movie.
#i didn't mean to write this much#thank you hyperfocus#that extended release addy doing its thing#no the lion king would not make my top ten#i didn't have anything in the “revival” era or whatever it's called but wreck-it ralph would be high on my list#i still need to see 9 films in the canon#also i feel if i rewatched bambi it would make my top ten#i feel bad for not having fantasia#cause it's glorious too#disney#walt disney animation

hi, i'm the disney choruses anon - thank you for answering me! imo all the choral endings are lovely in their own way, i.e. the tune of the b&b ending was beautiful and i loved that it featured gorgeous stained glass art of belle and adam which was a great callback to the wonderful opening, and of course the sleeping beauty chorus is iconic - it even got the chance to briefly shine during once upon a dream so when we hear it again, it's like we're greeting an old friend (plus the super endearing blue vs. pink dress switching during aurora and philip's dance!!). also as i mentioned the tlm chorus is beautiful in its ending too with ariel and triton finally reconciled, and all the merpeople celebrating this new alliance between their bright-eyed princess and this brave prince who put his life on the line to defeat ursula...
personally i'm especially biased toward the bambi ending bc the shot of our protagonist striking a lone, majestic figure, having at last lived up to his destiny as king of the forest, always spoke to me considering how we'd seen him grow up from such a delicate creature as a baby (who could barely even stand on his own!) and enduring so much hardship, to the strong, dignified adult he'd become :]
and most of all the cinderella ending was always my #1 favorite, not just bc cinderella was my fav princess and movie but also bc i was so moved as a little kid seeing this sincere, dignified, steadfast girl who'd been ostracized and isolated by her remaining family for most of her life until then, finally being celebrated by not just the connections she made (i.e. her animal friends and the royal family) but by the very narrative itself. as a kid it seemed almost as if divine or supernatural forces were cheering for her all along from the sidelines (as the fairy godmother's appearance in the story confirmed) and now they finally can show themselves without holding back by singing her praises... does that make sense?? anyway i really think the 2D animated films from disney before the mid-00s were truly works of art and products of much love and care that we might not ever see again, thanks for taking the time to read all this lol!!
I love that you brought up Bambi- one of my favorite songs of all time is in that film property and I think the soundtrack is criminally underrated. All of the Disney Greats- Mary Costa included, of course- performed at the Hollywood Bowl in the early 2000s to sing music from Bambi and they even all began to belt When You Wish Upon a Star together at the end of it. I hope against hope that they'll use it for Once Upon a Studio, but I know they're definitely using a new recording featuring a majority of the voice replacements but...I can dream lol
The way you write about the Cinderella ending is so beautiful and you really get it 🥲 the divine and supernatural line reminds me of how you mentioned the chorus singing Once Upon a Dream being like an old friend. The chorus also sings a reprise of A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes where Cinderella is literally responding to the voices and shutting them down, not abiding by the message anymore. It really does feel like a connection and a way that they're gently nudging her to continue going onward- only, since this is her low point, she needs a little more comfort- which materializes in the Fairy Godmother stroking her hair. I just love how you expressed them being her guardian angels, essentially, and the undertones of their presence in her life before it fully materialized. It brings so many beautiful images and feelings to my mind...in a world where people are too easy to dismiss their actions on external factors, I think it's so touching that Cinderella literally has no one there for her, no good influence or person to help her or show her love, and that's still not an excuse, she proactively rises above her surroundings- she continues to be the best person she possibly can be, even when it feels like she'll never "get anything back" from the universe. The fact that she got her Happily Ever After, in the face of every possible adversity, should renew everyone with hope and makes me feel like not all is lost, even with the things I get frustrated in. Again, thank you so much for telling me how you feel- it's the most beautiful writing I've read in a while💗

Character ask: Kermit the Frog
Favorite thing about them: How kind, friendly, and idealistic he is, and how he usually serves as the stable "eye of the hurricane" among the craziness of the Muppets. Yet at the same time, how relatably (and humorously) stressed and angry he becomes when his patience is tested too far. Then there's his dry humor and sarcasm (which was more pronounced in the Tales from Muppetland and early Muppet Show era than in more recent years – in those days he could be a real smart aleck!), and his poetic dreamer quality, which probably stands out the most in his signature song, "Rainbow Connection." Because he's such a famous pop culture icon, it's easy to forget just how three-dimensional and (for want to a better word) human he is as a character, but he really is.
Least favorite thing about them: He can sometimes be a little mean when he loses his temper.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I love music and performing.
*Like both Kermit and @ariel-seagull-wings, I want to make people happy through the arts.
*I can be quiet and thoughtful sometimes, fun-loving and exuberant at other times.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I couldn't handle the stress of being the Muppets' leader.
*I don't have any desire to date a pig.
*I'm not green.
Favorite line:
From The Muppet Show:
Me, not crazy? I hired the others!"
From his showdown with Doc Hopper in The Muppet Movie:
"Yeah, well, I've got a dream, too. But it's about singing and dancing and making people happy. That's the kind of dream that gets better the more people you share it with. And, well, I've found a whole bunch of friends who have the same dream... And it kind of makes us like a family. Do you have anybody like that, Hopper? I mean, once you get all those restaurants, who are you gonna share it with? Who are your friends, Doc? Those guys?... I don't think you're a bad man, Doc. And I think if you look in your heart, you'll find you really wanna let me and my friends go to follow our dreams. But if that's not the kind of man you are, or what I'm saying doesn't make any sense to you, well, then, go ahead and kill me."
brOTP: The other Muppets, especially Fozzie, Gonzo, and his nephew Robin.
OTP: Miss Piggy, with reservations (see below).
nOTP: Any human.
Random headcanon: The original script for 1969's Hey, Cinderella! called for the Fairy Godmother to turn him into a coachman. But he had too much pride in his frog heritage to want such a thing – and besides, none of the human actors who auditioned for the part of Coachman-Kermit could imitate his voice well enough – so the script was changed to have him refuse to be turned human and drive the coach as a frog.
Unpopular opinion: I'm not particularly invested in shipping him with Miss Piggy. Their having broken up (again) in the 2015 ABC series doesn't outrage me, and to be honest, I wouldn't have minded if they had never "officially" gotten together at all, but had kept their old Muppet Show dynamic of Piggy pursuing Kermit unrequitedly. (Although a part of me is glad they moved past that, because dragging it out for decades might have made Piggy seem pathetic.) Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of "on-and-off" pairings, maybe it's because of Piggy's tendency to be violent when Kermit offends her, or maybe it's just because my introduction to the Muppets was Muppet Babies, which solidified "Kermit and Piggy are friends and Piggy just wishes they were a couple" as their default relationship in my mind. But while they've had nice romantic moments over the years, I'm content to see them be good friends instead of lovers.
Song I associate with them:
"Bein' Green"
youtube
"Rainbow Connection"
youtube
Favorite picture of them:
Some of these are borrowed from @ariel-seagull-wings
In his "Sesame Street News Flash" outfit:
As a baby:
With Jim Henson:
This poignant cartoon drawn by a Disney artist in 1990:
(I'd like to think Mickey came to visit and console him after Jim Henson died because he remembered going through the same pain when Walt Disney died.)
And with Miss Piggy:

Once Upon a Time
An essay about the influence of one of the co-founders of the Writers Guild on Disney’s Cinderella
Disney’s Cinderella is a film obsessed with time. The thrumming of midnight is the most obvious example, but that same tower clock interrupts Cinderella’s opening song, too, as she attempts to convey the possibilities provided by dreaming in “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes.” “Oh, that clock! Old killjoy,” she complains and goes onto connect it to her position of servitude, explaining how the clock itself orders her around
The vocabulary of “time” saturates the dialogue. The word “time” is mentioned thrice in the prologue alone! Cinderella’s stepmother, Lady Tremaine, is the next to bring up the word. She accuses her step-daughter of having too much “time on [her] hands” that should be put to better use laboring for her and her stepdaughters in the house. Cinderella’s fairy godmother is also clued into the values of time. “Even miracles take a little time,” she remarks. Both surrogate mothers link time to work and production. How much someone can clean up, get done, maintain, and maybe even transform is dependent on the amount and use of their time.
Another kind of time distinct from the labor equation enters the fray at the palace. The prince’s ball is initiated by his father’s insistence that “it’s high time [his son] married and settled down,” so that he can see his grandchildren before he passes (Noticeably the interest of reproduction is an outside pressure rather than a motivation for the Prince and completely irrelevant to Cinderella herself). This ticking “high time” is a biological clock that connects back to the mention in the prologue of the “untimely death” of Cinderella’s father. It sets an enforced window of time between birth and death in which we are given to live fully.
The mice’s working song as they altruistically conceive to construct Cinderelly’s dress for the ball seems to most encapsulate the film’s perspective on time. “Every time she find a minute, that’s the time when they begin it!” Her animal friends complain that any moment Cinderella begins to encounter freedom and selfhood, the stepfamily increases its labor demands on her to claim ownership of that moment in time. Cinderella’s time to dream up solutions to her situation or even to dream up a comforting thought as she endures it is constantly being denied by the demands of her stepmother and stepsisters, who act more like employers than family. They rip away the scraps of leisure time she collects for herself in the same way they rip away her dress, becoming possessive of the scraps they had thrown away only once they see Cinderella making a personal life out of them. The expectation is that her time should only work towards maintaining the order (both in cleanliness and social standings) of the household. A dream may be a wish your heart makes, but with a stepfamily like that, who has time to dream?
Cinderella in its Time
“We wonder,” activist-poet Gwendolyn Brooks wrote in her poem “kitchenette building,” which was published in her Pulitzer Prize-winning collection A Street in Bronzeville in 1945. It was published only a couple years before Cinderella’s production began. She meant wonder in the same vein that Cinderella dreams, wide-eyed, hopeful, and so often thwarted. “We wonder. But not well! not for a minute!” because “Dream,” she explained, only “makes a giddy sound, not strong like ‘rent,’ feeding a wife,’ ‘satisfying a man.’ The poem demonstrates how the deprivation of time—and the deprivation of resources one can otherwise accrue when given time—deny the lower classes the possibility of even imagining beauty and fantasy into their lives and futures. It creates a permanent relationship to the desperation, disgust, and disappointment that have to be immediately dealt with—garbage in the hall, onion fumes, and lukewarm shower water. Perhaps dreams exist amongst these lives, but no one has the time to notice them and take stock, which means that no one especially has time to transform their dreams into reality.
It’s no stretch to imagine a connection between Gwendolyn Brooks’s work and Disney’s Cinderella. I’ve already mentioned their chronological closeness but there’s also Cinderella’s uncredited screenwriter Maurice Rapf. He was the cofounder of the screenwriters guild (which grew into the Writers Guild of America, the organization currently on strike in 2023. He would later be blacklisted in Hollywood in 1947 due to his association with the Communist Party USA (hence the “uncredited”). He was also brought on, due to his aggressive anti-Uncle-Tom stance, to shape up Song of the South before being pulled from the project after only seven weeks due to disagreements with the infamous lead screenwriter for the film. That a vehement Marxist and antiracist like Maurice Rapf might have more than a passing familiarity with Brooks’s poetry seems more than likely, and it encourages us to read the film more deeply with this kind of lens.
Cinderella’s Histories
It’s well known that the Cinderella story type is an old folktale with versions across a variety of cultures. Disney’s Cinderella draws heavily on Charles Perrault’s French version from 1697. The pumpkin, the fairy godmother, the glass slipper: all Perrault. But the film’s far from a truly faithful adaptation.
Some strange anachronistic names permeate the film. Perhaps you remember the round and adorable mouse, Gus. Do you recall, though, that Cinderella names him Octavius, then christens him Gus for short? Gus, of course, is short not for Octavius but for Augustus. It’s a reference to the Roman emperor who began life with the name Octavius as part of the commoners of ancient Rome, (the plebians) before rising to the highest position of Caesar, receiving the name Augustus and ushering in the Pax Romana, an unprecedented period of peace within the Roman Empire. In the context of the film, his name is used to reference crossing the class barrier to achieve a fairytale happy ending.
Another name, perhaps less unusual, that still beams within a Marxist reading is Cinderella’s stepsister, Anastasia. While of Greek origin, the film pays little respect to its meaning in that language of “resurrection.” It points rather to a notoriously non-Disney princess, instead. The fantasy of Anastasia Romanov’s survival of the Bolshevik Revolution was well established by the time Cinderella was being written. Drawing an even more direct connection, Rapf, whose semester abroad in the USSR in the 1930s (and terrifying visit as a Jew through Nazi Berlin on his way back) inspired his adamant communism. The writers of Cinderella place their Anastasia as one of the stepsisters in a position of power and privilege that harms the laboring protagonist, Cinderella. While it doesn’t direct the stepfamily to a firing squad, through this choice the film refuses to romanticize the Romanovs and the aristocratic class and mindset they represent more broadly.
And They Lived Happily Ever After
If we take a Marxist reading to be true, then we’re forced to ask the question: why does Cinderella ascend to royalty? The film closes with an image of what is perhaps the most iconic happy ending in the fairytale film genre with Cinderella and Prince Charming riding off in their honeymoon carriage with a final kiss. It replaces Snow White’s castle in the clouds and all its religious allegory for a much more secular conclusion. Logistically, this marriage would bring Cinderella into the fold of aristocracy, but the visuals the animators depict de-emphasize the castle, the class status, and even the ceremony that grants her access to the upper crust.
In the final minute of the film, Cinderella is once again sprinting away from the castle and the king, descending the stairs rather than ascending to a throne. The bells of the clock tower chime away again and the motif of her lost slipper reoccurs, reminding the audience of Cinderella’s urgency, the limited window of time offered to her to find personal freedom. It also provides an opportunity for the king to kneel before her and become her foot servant. Still, she doesn’t remain to take charge of him or the kingdom, she continues her descent away from royalty towards the Public with the person who disregarded class divisions.
Then there’s that final famous image in the carriage, so pervasively symmetrical. A pyramid structure is bordered by natural elements. Then, making the escape from unregulated servitude possible for Cinderella, a laborer, the carriage driver, sits atop the triangle, signaling his power and importance to the narrative’s happy ending. When we transition to the pages of the book that close the film, his person is replaced by a crown.
At the center, Cinderella and her prince consummate their union. From the regulated actions of labor and class, they are escaping into the realm of the carnal. Bodily desires are finally allowed to take precedence for Cinderella instead of the nagging bells that demand she wake up and get to work. The government of Time instituted by the aristocracy on Cinderella as a member of the working class yields to the cries and celebrations of the public and to Cinderella’s own pleasure. “Ever after” is beyond the reach of Time. And, it’s not heavenly like Snow White’s, but in a realm where one is no longer alienated from their own body, its needs and its rhythms.
Back in her rags after her encounter at the ball, Cinderella remarks, “I guess I forgot about everything, even the time…” The discourse around Cinderella has criticized its marriage plot romance, but that romance signifies the ability of connection and union—at the personal level, yes, but also in a socialist fashion—to psychologically and politically help liberate oneself from the many hegemonies that render life unnecessarily laborious, unrelenting, and full of drudgery. Life, when made in partnership with others instead of hierarchies, could feel like a fantasy flying by, like a timeless dream.

KH Spec: Princesses of Heart as Stars, part 3/?
Part 1 went into some of the symbolism of Stars in KH, as derived from Paopu Fruit & Wayfinders. Part 2 went in-depth on the Founding Princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora) & how they connect to each other through songs, key themes & the film Pinnochio. Part 3 will be an 'interlude' that is not so-much about the non-character that is 'Alice' but on the purpose of an "Alice-Role" within the KH series & setting. But before ditching Alice-the-Character, let there be a bullet point compilation!
The Key Themes that make a Princess of Heart thus far have been:
Dreams (Wishes your Heart makes)
Dreams Becoming Reality
True Love, the Most Powerful Magic of All (Resurrection/the power of Awakening)
Hearts that Inspire Love in others (Found Family, Fairies, & Anonymous Princes Charming)
having a Magical Setting
thematic resonance with the "Wish Upon A Star" song from 'Pinnochio' (& thus Stars)
Alice: An Exceptional Interlude
Alice is an oddity amongst the Original Disney 6: her "royal" status is non-existent in her Disney film, achieved in her second book. Even then, rather than a becoming a 'princess', Alice crossed a chessboard & was a 'Pawn' promoted to 'Queen'.
Like 'Pinnochio', 'Alice in Wonderland' is a Narrative Lynchpin of the KH series as a whole: where 'Pinnochio' was used to foreshadow the nature of Hearts & thematically connect the earliest works in the Disney Animated Canon (tying together wishes, stars, dreams, true love & miracles), 'Alice in Wonderland' (or, rather, its books) has served to hint at the nature of 'Light' and 'Darkness'. It is also, very probably, a reference to Sora's role in regards to Kingdom Hearts itself.
Alice, the character, barely appears in the KH series at all: this makes sense given her role is largely thematic in purpose and that she is a Literal Child. Not a young teenager like Sora, not an "ambiguously aged & timelooping young girl" like Snow White: Alice is, like, 10. It is also very pertinent to her story that, bizzare adventures ended, Alice 'wakes up' to her home in mundane England.
Alice herself is not 'relevant' to the KH series: her setting is, and, just like Christopher Robin, Alice is less a 'character' and more a 'role' (a role that Sora and, to a lesser extent, Kairi conveniently fulfil without being aware of it).
All that said, going into the Themes of Alice in Wonderland & Through The Looking Glass is something that can never truly be exhausted as Theory Fuel with respect to the KH series. Thusly, I'll do a vague list of bullet points & go take a nap.
The Alice Role
hearts, heartless, & the manipulations thereof
un/reality & "waking up"
blatant lies, truths hidden in plain sight & misdirection
game of cards = CoM
game of chess = KH3
Disney's Queen of Hearts was a combination of said queen from Alice's 1st book & the Red Queen in her 2nd
queen of hearts "painting the roses red" = red queen converting pieces?
the "normal" [youth] put in a magical setting
sora through the looking glass (kh3 is a reflection)
relationship of dreamer & dream
pawn promoted to queen
sora is alice, just as he is christopher robin
wishes & cryptic sorcerers
#kh meta#kh theories#alice in metahell#wonderland meta#alice meta#sora is alice#sora through the looking glass#this is barely about princesses of heart#i vibe alice as getting the role accidentally & ditching it asap#alice the princess by technicality

Excerpt
Enter Adam
Although Adam Benscoter's hair had grayed significantly, he still looked the part of the handsome college quarterback he had been when Marta first met him a lifetime ago. She felt a warmth rising within her, which quickly cooled when she looked at his sidepiece. The tall young Asian woman was about twenty years younger than Adam. Her long, wavy hair was dyed amaranth, and she was dressed in a light coral coat that was entirely inappropriate for the climate.
“Whoo, I’m so glad to be out of that storm!” the young woman proclaimed. “You were a boss on that road, Ad-Man!”
“At least this one looks like she’s been out of high school for more than two years,” Marta muttered under her breath. “I’m so glad we never had any children. Imagine having someone your own age as your stepmother.”
“Hi there, Ladies, I’m Clara Wola,” the young woman introduced herself, extending a friendly hand. “Since it appears we'll be spending lots of time together, we might as well get to know each other.”
“Hi Clara, I’m Ophrah Pololáník. Oh goodness, your hands are so cold! Miss Tia, could we have a hot chocolate over here for this young lady?”
“Dear Ophrah, always the mother hen,” Adam said kindly.
“Wait—you two know each other?” Clara asked.
“Yes, and he knows me too,” Marta said coldly. “Hello, Clara, I’m Marta Benscoter, your—what is he to you, Dear?”
“He’s my boss,” Clara said, a puzzled expression on her face. “But we’ve also become good friends since he hired me six years ago.”
“We’re going to make our partnership official when we get back to Diamond Bar,” Adam said with a grin. “Then she can finally stop calling me Boss.”
“Well, that’s generous of you,” Marta quipped. “I hate to rain on your parade, Ms. Wola, but even if you aren’t officially marrying Saint Adam, I hope you’ve spoken to an attorney about protecting your interests in the event of an eventual dissolution of your partnership.”
“It’s not a romantic partnership; it’s purely business,” Clara corrected. “I’ve been Adam’s assistant at Cloud Limited since getting my doctorate from Oceanside Tech. You must be the ex-wife he won’t talk about. It seems like you two need to iron some things out.”

So I just watched this incredibly great video and I totally agree with everything except to small things:
First of all I don't like Ella's hairstyle all too much in the dance scene because I think it looks rather stiff compared to the rest of the movie, idk I feel like I can see the hairspray. And the glitter on her skin and the diamonds in her hair are a bit too much for my taste as well as I think that the butterflies are just a tad too big.
And the second and more important thing is that while I don't mind them cutting the multiple songs to not make the film a musical I do take issue with them using "Lavender's blue" as THE song of the movie. I like the song but it hasn't got any nostalgia to me since I grew up in a non-English speaking country. And I think it's a weird choice when you consider that the song is a Disney song (from "So Dear to my Heart" according to Wikipedia) based on a folksong that hasn't got any connection to the animated Disney Cinderella. I just think that "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" would have been the better choice since it would have been a lovely connection to the animated film from 1950 sung in Lily James's gorgeous voice like it is in the credits. Just imagine how the meaning of the song changes throughout the movie. First it is a sweet and hopeful lullaby sung by her mother, when she arrives at the ball and acends the staircase the melody of the "a dream that you wish will come true" part plays in an epic, grand way and then later when she's locked up but clings onto that hope it could start as comfort for herself but the she finds more confidence in the words and others start hearing her making her wish come true.
While I do have other minor problems with the script the thing with "Lavender's blue" is the only one that bugs me.
#cinderella#cinderella 2015#cinderella 1950#also put Lily James and Richard Madden in other movies as a couple. they're chemistry is so good
