as exhausted i am trying to stay afloat and as much as i want to ignore the world around me, it simply would be disgusting and awfully ignorant of me to ignore the countless horrors people all over the world are facing just so i can wallow in the comfort of my little bubble that america and other western powers provide. this isn't about me or us. this is bigger than us. they deserve to be heard, their lives, actions, and deaths remembered, and their resistance to be not for nothing.

i wish them peace and true freedom and equality.

I feel utterly hopeless and helpless, sitting in front of my phone while simply sharing tiktoks of these horrific events (Palestinian and Sudanese Genocide as well as the Congo Silent Genocide). I simply have nothing else to say that others haven’t already said.

To the people who have died, may you rest in peace. To the people who are fighting back (in whatever form that may be), may your actions be not for nothing.

To the people who are just simply trying to survive, may you see the day your world isn’t filled with the sounds of bombs, the cries and sounds of pain and anguish of your loved ones and neighbors , the smell of death, worries that this will be your last day.

You will not be forgotten. None of you

To the world leaders, the people who support their oppressors, and the people with influence and affluence who, too, are in support of their oppressors, may your evil deeds be turned around onto you TENFOLD. May you experience hell on earth. I hope for that with all my heart. I hope you all suffer. You will never be forgiven.

It pains me to know that you all will never face any consequences for your evil and inhumane actions (as we’ve seen countlessly from history). People in power never suffer. They never have. But I hope with everything in me that you all suffer so much so that you wish for death.

Do not stay silent. Do not ignore their suffering. Do not be complacent in the genocide, ethnic cleansing, enslavement of human beings. Share every article/tiktok documenting or speaking on the matter. Call your representatives! Make sure their voices are heard.

What do you think of when you see this brilliant color?

My mind drifts to the Democratic Republic of Congo. I think incessantly about the human cost of mining cobalt in a so-called "third world country" that powers developed nations all over the world. I think about the richness of the Congo that is usurped and redirected to smartphones, laptops, electric cars, and so many other devices we have to use everyday.

With these devices, I've seen videos of the destitute poverty and cruelty human beings are subjected to in order to further this trade. To me, it is beyond justification and heart breaking. Continually profit and self-interest tramples basic empathy.

This artwork is a message of love to promote awareness of the mines which fuel our lives. When you see this color think of the people building the foundation of our modern society. What is the true cost?

Yesterday was the last day of the global strike, and while I will be going back to posting my normal content in March, that doesn't mean that I won't still post about Palestine. I will also still post about Congo and Sudan as much as I can as well along with my regular content. The end of the strike doesn't mark the end of these genocides, which means that I will continue to reblog, rant about, and educate myself and others on them.

Please don't stop talking about Palestine. Don't stop talking about Congo. Don't stop talking about Sudan. I will not stop using my voice and my platform, and neither should you. And if you haven't started using your voice, what's stopping you?

People in the Congo have been enslaved for years, being forced to mine Coltan. Coltan is a valuable resource used in electronics. 6 million people have been killed, and many, many more have been displaced.

i apologize for not posting as much (since my last post) on the atrocities that have been going on in Palestine, Congo, and Sudan (to name a few). i mainly post on twitter (@Lukah_o9). but we’re not stopping. we’re not stopping even once a ceasefire has been called. these people deserve justice. their killers and their killers’ supporters MUST be punished. they deserve reparations, peace, and their demands to be met.

It has always been my goal to be generous and impactful with my work.

That's why I opted for dolls over traditional sculpture, so you could not only view it but feel it and transform it into different poses and looks. The potential to bond with a piece of art that you can hold in your arms is unmatched. My intentions behind my work are also why I am always creating with real, lived experiences in mind. While being aesthetically pleasing, dolls can also carry stories and lessons for us all. With time, it's my hope you'll understand exactly what I mean.
