This is my gift to myself :) I drew my favorite guys ever.

For a while I've been itching to draw the wedding outfits from this post again. I made them up on the fly as I was drawing, but I actually really like how they ended up turning out. They're super cute!! (though, yet again, you can't see almost any part of Dedede's outfit... 💔)

But then I couldn't get it out of my head to make a companion piece for it, with their mirror versions. And so. I did. What they have going on is a little bit messy, though...

Day 02: Subgames

I feel so dumb right now. I always got so confused when they said that Silver had “auroral” eyes because like, they look like a blueish-pinkish-purplish color and the aurora (borealis) is usually seen as green and purple (which is funny because that’s the colors associated with diasomnia and maleficent). And then I find out that aurora literally means “the dawn”…which they even say in the animated movie and it just never clicked.

Silver with his DAWN colored eyes from his father, the knight of DAWN, who originally came from the land of DAWNing. I wouldn’t be suprised if Silver’s birth name was literally just dawn.

I always thought the “aurora” of his eyes referred to the colors of them shifting like an aurora borealis… since the blue/pink/purple seems to be due to the lighting reflecting off the irises. (And, on a meta level, "aurora" probably refers to Princess Aurora/Sleeping Beauty, who seems to be a strong inspiration for Silver.) Guess you really do learn something new every day though! dbjsvsjwkwklw The Sleeping Beauty movie put me to sleep so I never would have known aurora = dawn is lore dropped in the film.

Normally I would lift my finger and wag it while saying, “But Dawn is a girl’s name” 😭 however, we got multiple guy characters with feminine-sounding names (Leona, Jade, Lilia, etc.) in Twst so… yeah, I don’t think my argument would hold water.

This does bring up a good point though! I wonder if we’ll ever learn Silver’s birth name?? 🤔 I’d laugh a little if it was something that on the nose, especially considering that Lilia would later give him another on the nose name (Silver, for his new hair color).

Kirbtober day 2: Revenge

King Dedede was in complete shock to see that his knight Meta would go against him to overthrow him in the name of supposed revenge for the people who had suffered from hunger, He felt so betrayed by that, he never thought Meta would be capable of doing that to him.

Once Meta and his knights had been defeated, Dedede wanted to make him feel what he felt and ordered them to be hunted down and put bounties on their heads or if they arrived alive he himself would take care of them.

King Dedede wants revenge for Meta Knight's betrayal even if he has to use his companions or acquaintances for that Even if he had to move on through Bandana's cries and pleas for him to forgive his sister who was just confused

OMG 4KIDS, WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL US THIS INFORMATION ABOUT KIT COSMOS!?!?!?

I SERIOUSLY HATE IT WHEN THE JAPANESE VERSION OF KIRBY GIVES US SOME LORE IMPORTANT MOMENTS, BUT 4KIDS IS LIKE “Screw that, let’s dumb down the writing and remove any important hints to the Star Warriors lore.”

BECAUSE THIS PIECE OF DIALOGUE FROM THE JAPANESE VERSION TELLS US A HINT ON HOW KIT WAS STRANDED IN THE FIRST PLACE:

ANOTHER EXAMPLE COMES FROM AN EPISODE THAT I LOVE, BUT IS ALSO CONFUSING (no matter if you watched it dubbed or subbed). THE EPISODE I AM TALKING ABOUT IS MONSTER MANAGEMENT!!!

I feel like there are some weird plot holes in the episode like how Knuckle Joe had to send all of these mini monsters to wreak havoc into Cappy town causing lots of property damage, so he could summon the companies strongest monster, Masher. Or how Knuckle Joe literally almost killed his friend, Kirby so that he could team up with him (oh yeah and when Meta Knight was attacked by Masher).

BUT ANYWAYS THERE WAS A LINE THAT META KNIGHT SAID THAT SEMI-HELPED WITH THE PLOT.

He says this:

And even though I kinda like the 4KIDS version of this line, I still feel like they should’ve kept the Japanese version of it

Of course they would replace a pretty important line with a very corny joke 🤦

ONE MORE EXAMPLE I WANT TO SHARE IS THAT IN THE EPISODE “HERE COMES THE SON” KNUCKLE JOE IS SELF AWARE OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF BATTLING KIRBY

WHEN HE TRANSFORMS INTO A MONSTER HE DOESN’T KNOW IF THIS IS EVEN HIMSELF AT THIS POINT AND REALIZING WHAT HE IS DOING IS WRONG

BUT FOR SOME REASON 4KIDS GOT RID OF KNUCKLE JOE’S SELF AWARENESS AND REPLACES THOSE LINES WITH “ILL SHOW THEM THAT I AINT A MONSTER” THIS AND “I DON’T WANT TO BE A MONSTER” THAT. I WISH THEY KEPT JOE’S SELF AWARENESS AND DEPTH IN THE 4KIDS DUB!!!!!!! 😤😤😤😤😤

DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE OST REPLACEMENT…

But yeah even though 4KIDS replaces many good things from the sub, this is still the version of the show that made me a Kirby anime fan. I do really like the voice acting (dubbed and subbed). I honestly can’t even decide which intro is better imo (well for outro it’s definitely subbed), they both are bops. At the end of the day 4KIDS is doing their job entertaining people during the 2000s and probably introducing a lot of people in the west into the franchise. I understand that the dub as aimed for more of a younger audience compared to the original sub. Maybe someday there will be a Kirby anime aimed for more of a mature audience and will express more of these themes on what made the sub so special, and I guess the dub for those who grew up watching the show.

I do want to watch the rest of the Japanese version of the show, even though there’s still some episodes I haven’t seen with subtitles (“Waddle while you work” and onward).

Batmom #1

     The first time you encountered the Batman, who you would later know as Bruce Wayne and your husband, is a day you would never forget.  Gotham’s Dark Knight had rescued you from a life of villainy and crime, your personal hero. It was the start of something beautiful you always said, although your relationship was anything but smooth in the beginning.

Past 

    You were a test subject of Jonathon Crane, he wanted to use fear toxin and psychological torture to awaken meta-genes in ordinary humans and you happened to be his most promising subject at the time. You remember volunteering for the program, they had framed it as test-trials for a new drug meant to strengthen immune systems and increase quality of life in exchange for a hefty payment dependent on how long you stayed in the program. After two years living in shitty motels and alleys you jumped on the offer. Anything was better than petty theft, eating from garbage cans, and sleeping in corrupt homeless shelters.

     Living in Gotham wasn’t kind, after your apartment and all your belongings had been destroyed when the Joker decided to go on a bombing spree you had no choice but to turn to the streets at 20 years old. Gotham’s Mayor and city officials had promised their citizens they would be rehomed and cared for, in reality the displaced apartment renters received a check for a hundred dollars worth of groceries and a two day stay at any hotel in the city. You gave your hotel and grocery voucher to your neighbor with two small children and an elderly mother to care for, she needed it more than you by far. Recuperating after that was nearly impossible. Anyone who said homeless people should just get a job was a damn fool, it wasn’t nearly as easy as it seemed when nice clothing and access to a shower was in scarce supply. The city had failed it’s people and it wouldn’t be the first time it failed Y/N. 

     In the beginning there was sixteen of you, an even split between the men and women. Some of them you recognized, like the two girls who worked the corner of your “street” night and day. There was a third usually with them but she had been murdered two weeks ago. The cops suspected an overdose but the streets knew, they talked and whispered in the night. She had been killed by a client, dumped in the alley that Y/N usually stayed in. That night had been awful, she had been the one to inform them of their friend’s death. She assumed her death had been a wake up call for the women, it had been for herself. She needed to get off the streets before she was just a girl in an alley, taken advantage of and left for dead. There was a few homeless men you recognize from nights spent around dumpster fires and sharing the days spoils. The rest were strangers and she found herself wondering what circumstances had brought them all together. 

     All the volunteers met at Gotham City Mall where you were given new clothes and bussed to a second location, halfway through your bus ride you were all instructed to put a blindfold on. A black cut of cloth had been given to each person, many of you were confused. Why couldn’t you see where you were going? You spoke up as several exchanged looks of fear, “Why can’t we see where we’re going? What’s going on?” You voiced the concerns easily felt throughout the bus, weary of the answer you would receive. What had you gotten yourself into? “The facility we’re going to is a top secret government owned building. This is standard precaution for any non personnel visiting the building.” A man towards the front answered, easing many fears. Not yours though, something felt wrong, you felt this man was lying. 

     Still, you led by example and put your blindfold on. When you had arrived and been shuffled into the building, your blindfolds being taken off, you were met with a stark white room. A scientist began speaking to you, explaining the trials you’d be going through and how you were to be separated. There would be one man and woman to a room, though when you were shown your “rooms” they looked much like a prison cell. They explained they wanted to study their, each man and woman’s, reactions to the opposite sex as they did their research. You started to  become suspicious as this was explained to you. Why would they need to study your reaction to other patients? You were supposed to be in trials for drugs related to strengthening the immune system, that should have nothing to do with other patients. In your head it made more sense for them to isolate all of you, what was going on? What was she about to be subjected to do? And worse, this had all been her doing. 

In the end, you were the only test subject to have survived the “trials” and torture. The trials, you had never been able to refer to your time in the facility as anything but torture and abuse. The scientists always else referred to them as trials, as if giving them any other name would make what they were doing even more sadistic and cruel. Subjecting you to different drugs like LSD, cocaine, Haloperidol, methamphetamines, and truth serum to expose your fears and use them against you. Sleep deprivation was one of their favorite forms of torture, it not only produced natural hallucinations but with the added fear toxin your hallucinations increased tenfold. After developing a dependency to certain drugs they forced you to consume they began to use withdrawal as a form of torture. 

     Your stay in the facility lasted three years, one year after your torture began your metagene that had previously lay dormant was activated. The scientists hypothesized that because of your mania and emotional displacement along with the fear toxin your metagene was influenced in a way that allowed you to manipulate the mind and the emotion fear. You felt all emotions but fear was much prominent, fear was the easiest to manipulate. Once your abilities manifested they began the brain washing. They knew you would never willingly submit to their commands with how much they had awakened your abilities so they began the brain washing. It was another year of  pharmacological torture before they were successful, you willingly began to do missions for Crane and his friends. You believed he had saved you from the streets and given you extraordinary powers, he had saved your life. Your third year stuck with Crane you commited crimes in the name of several villains, Jonathon gave you the alias the Scarlet Witch. Your powers manifested physically as a red energy, it behaved like a fog in a way: clouding the minds of your victims, manipulating their actions, and bringing their worst fears to the surface. 

     At 23 years old you were just a missing person’s report, a face lost to crime and a failing, corrupt police force. That was until Batman caught you, you were usually gone by the time he arrived to stop you. But this time you had faltered, you swore you recognized the faces you had been forced to mar with a bullet to the forehead. They had tried to speak to you before you killed them, to beg for their lives. But this was your mission, they were your mission. That had been the last mission you ever did for Jonathon Crane, the Batman took you into his custody that night. He delivered you to the Justice League. There you stayed while the League tried to find any information on how you had become this but all they had was a missing person’s report. 

     There they monitored your health and watched you go through withdrawal. It took Bruce three months to find the files that told the demise of Y/F/N Y/L/N. In that time you were diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia from the extended drug use you were subjected to. You gained weight, not so sickly looking anymore. You bonded with Diana, she was one of the few people who didn’t hide their faces from your. Somehow it made you feel more human, while you didn’t trust these people she trusted you enough to see the real her. You hadn’t been around someone so genuine in a long time. It took a year of physical and mental therapy for you to begin unlearning what had been brainwashed into you. In that time you grew closer to Batman. Somehow it seemed he understood what it was like to be unmade and made into something darker. That was the rough start to the beginning of your relationship. 

Present

You never expected to live the life you live now, a life in a mansion with too many kids to count and a husband who loves you unconditionally. A life with friends who she could rely on, some superpowered and some not. A butler who may as well be her father, oh how her young self would scoff at the idea of her life now. Bruce Wayne had given you so much and you only hoped one day you would repay the debt you owed him.

A/N: This is probably absolute shit but this is my idea for Batmom.Rn I’m just setting up backstory. I’ve always loved the idea of Scarlet Witch in the DCU because there’s so much backstory you could put in there. She (you) are still from Sokovia, her immigrant background is going to help tie in with Dick/Damian identity struggles. I also really wanted to do something with fear toxin because I feel Scarecrow is such an underrated villain. So here we have it, enjoy or don’t. So! I’ve been quietly working on another Kirby oc that I have from last year, but I never gotten to making a proper reference sheet for her. Now I finally finished and her name is Moxie! Also a lil Moxie with an artist ability as a bonus!

I’ll even have some background info under the cut, lmao!

Background

Born close by to a planet forming disk that has excesses of water vapor for the tear star to absorb alongside the accumulation of wishes to those who are lonely and the magical residue of the universe, she was born as she ended up crash-landed into the ocean where a couple on their boat ride made a wish for a child, as they ended up saving her from drowning. She then lived on a planet named Coral Core, where it was originally a refugee hotspot for people to hide from the events of Void Termina, as it eventually became the sort of vacation planet with few islands populated of different species and the likes. This all took place after with the Void Termina situation and eventually pre-Nightmare war as another event.

However due to the makeup to her biology, she’s able to breathe underwater as an infant and to an adult currently to this day. But neither the couple (which soon became her parents) didn’t know this nor did she, so it’s a fun surprise to the all of them.

Having a peaceful life on the planet, eventually when she has gotten to in her early young adult stage, she did joined the GSA which needed star warriors and those who cared to stoping Nightmare causing destruction to other planets and or turning the innocents into monsters.

During that time, eventually Meta Knight came along on joining the GSA, thanks to her mentor (who come to be another father figure to her) saved him from Nightmare. Being told from her mentor that she needs to gain his trust because of the hostility he has over the members of the GSA, she complied to being his first friend, even through… those first few times did started out difficult. What came afterwards did became more than breaks and spars, it eventually turned to them steadily opening up to each other and eventually falling in love as a couple. It did got to the point where they got married hence why she has the ring. She didn’t pushed him as she was patient. She was there when he was in his vulnerable moments and in turn, it was the same for her when she lost their mentor. She loved everything about him from all of his perfections and imperfections, even that she knows more than well enough, that he is not a monster to her eyes. So, stars help her if anyone says otherwise about him that she will absolutely be enraged.

However, when the war during Nightmare gotten worse, she fought as much as she can against the opposing enemies, but she eventually fell in battle when she gotten fatally stabbed by the opposing monster (hence the cracks on her mask and the scar she has). In the last of her strength, she took the opposing enemy with her to stab her with her bow to plunge it at them to kill them off. Though… “fell” is one way to put it. A certain butterfly came along to say that it wasn’t her time yet to get a second chance in life, in which she ended up waking up in one of the few GSA bases off planet. Shock and confused, the first thing she asked was, “where’s Meta? Where’s Stardust?” (Stardust is a nickname that she affectionately calls him exclusively). Only to find out that they couldn’t find them and it might be chalked off to him being “dead” and it devastated her.

Many years have passed and the GSA are in hiding in order to rebuild their strengths and steadily grow their numbers in secret through missions of any other survivors who fled and thought the army is gone, Moxie was assigned to stop by to the planet named Popstar as she gotten reports of two Star warriors are in Dreamland as she would head to there. But what she didn’t expect is that Meta was there on patrol when she landed and came out of her starship.

And boy, did they really took a moment to reunite through tight embrace, loving hand in loving hand to not wanting to let each other go in fear it’s all a dream… and quiet words spoke they both thought one another is gone. But they’re together again and now, she’s apart of a found family consisted of not only her husband but also Kirby, Sword and Blade Knight.

Personality

Her personality is caring and energetic puffball, even sometimes flirtatious! By being flirtatious on getting a rise at someone (also at enemies to agitate them)c which can make her smug about it too. She is eager to make friends and will absolutely make teases and jests when she’s close with them. This also includes on fun and special nicknames on what she can think of for them by symbolism or abbreviations. She is also starting to be a mom-friend thanks to Kirby.

She is also calculative (so think Penelope of the particular Odyssey or Epic the musical), as she would be level-headed to think of plans on helping others to safety or what sort of fakeout tactic she makes to throw her enemies off guard. She can even tell on the actual message of what someone is saying. As for example, if someone wants to talk to her about their problems by disguising as wanting to hang out for some grub, she will acknowledge it on agreeing and taking them to a spot where it’s only between them so they’re free to talk what’s been troubling them.

She likes to be productive as she still wants to keep herself active! Even though, residents of Popstar are notoriously lazy, she does her job on patrolling around the castle. It’s not a bad thing on being lazy though as she does have hobbies which are, she sometimes chill with a book to read, fishing, swimming/diving, bird watching to look into different birds for fun (she will be also eager to hear on bird facts, lmao!), and or paint as she actually come to love as a child (even if it’s from a funny prank experience put on her to be chaotic).

Behind all the sweetness from the knight, she can be ruthless if someone were to hurt the people she loves and cares about. Even a little bit aggressive that she can be a menacing powerhouse whether it’s through magic and or weapons she has in her experienced disposal. She does not take much hesitation on causing payback if it meant her loved ones are safe.

Powers/Abilities

She has three abilities as she is within the puffball species! Mainly it’s water ability that she has grown used to over time alongside with Wing and Archer! It’s kind of basically water-bending at this point as she can make tidal waves, vortexes, make a game of turning orbs (heh) of water into flying fishes, and conjures swords out of water for it. If she is near by bodies of water, she will take advantage of her surroundings to use it to attack someone.

Funny thing about the Archer ability, she ended up being soul bonded to the weapon when she was diving in her home planet as a child. She came across an ancient underwater temple and got curious to taking a look, which resulted to obtaining the bow in the first place when she showed her parents what she found. Now she can be able to summoned it at will and combined it with her water ability to create arrows out of water, when she pulls on the string.

As for Wing ability, she can be able to use her feathers to pluck them out to use as ammo for her bow, based on what the reference sheet says! That or she can use them as a knife because they are surprisingly sharp if plucked out but soft when touching her wings. Her wings can regenerate a bit of a faster rate, but it still can be annoying sometimes for her

She does have a sword though, thanks to her training from the GSA as well as her mentor from the GSA. She has it in tow with her, in case she were to get exhausted from her magic usage or can’t summoned her bow to fight someone. So during her focused training on specifically with the sword, she does have enough of the skills from her mentor to be taught how to make sword beams and the likes.

XD She has been on my mind for some time now and I was kind of hesitant, because this is the first time that there is an OC x canon aspect on her backstory’s, but also it was relevant to her reference sheet. “We’re all okay now, Mets!” Magolor, the Captain of the Lor Starcutter, and the Ogre of Kitakami, shouted at their partner, whom was actually just behind them. “Magsie, you keep forgetting that I’m just behind you?”

“Harsh”

“It’s true though”

“Oh come on! There’s just this influx of dimensional energy in some… parody(?) of dimension 46/‘!” Magolor replied, to which Meta just heads to the control panel and asks, “Are you ready?” “Let’s go.” they replied.

Few moments later….

“And here we are! What the ****?” Magolor says, while exiting and realizing that they are in a… forest with eyes.. “I don’t feel comfortable all of a sudden….” they mumbled, feeling uneasy. Their partner was also the same.

“Let’s just… go that way! There’s a light! Maybe we’ll find someone.. and avoid the storm.”

“Agreed”

Stanford Pines had just faked his brother’s death and believed in his own lie. And honestly? He doesn’t know what Stan’s been up to or where he is. But Bill would not stop tormenting him to reopen the portal, to which he had zero intentions to. He decided to continue on to his research, and pay off his mortgage.

What he never expected was that two anomalies would come knocking at his door… then again there’s a storm coming.

Magolor did not want to get caught in the storm as they didn’t really have a place to stay in, because they only had the Lor open the portal directly to Gravity Falls. They thought there wouldn’t be a storm, but they were proven to be wrong. Luckily, their partner, Meta Knight, had found a ridiculously barricaded home.

“Welp, let’s knock on the door… ask the person on let us in their house… or is this a military base?” Magolor jokingly asked Meta, whom only rolled his eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Suck it up. One day I’ll get back at you.”

“Yeah, sure.”

“Just knock on the damn door already”

“How’d do people do it again?” Magolor wondered, then just knocked lightly on the door saying, “Knock, knock, knockin’ on Hooty’s door!”

Meta Knight groans and hoped that whoever was in there, would let them in already. And he got that wish in the worst way possible, a person aiming a crossbow at them both.

“Who’s there?! Have you come to steal my eyes?!”

“Woah, chill. Quick question, why’d you adorn your place with the Ciphers’ eye. Also mind letting us in? There’s a storm coming in.”

Ford did let them in, albeit suspicious of the floating one. He said Cipher didn’t he? He was praying that they weren’t related to him. That accursed triangle.

“Who are you? How do you know of Bill?” Ford decided to be the one to press for answers out of these two anomalies(?).

“Uh, who’s Bill?” Floaty (that’s what he mentally decided to call him) replies confused.

“Bill Cipher. Yellow triangle? One eye?”

“What? Ponpon…. Oh! Euclid and Scalene Cipher!”

“Who?” Ford and the other one asked.

“Euclydians that I knew! At least before the massacre… damn may they rest in peace.”

“You mean the one world where everything was 2D?”

“Yeppers!”

“Did any of you make a deal with Bill?”

“Hell naw”

“No?”

Magolor had enough. This guy was suspicious. The amount of questions he asked about the Ciphers was on its own, suspicious. He knew something or is the reason why they went here with Meta Knight in the first place. A trans-universal gateway or simply put, a portal, going haywire.

“Say, mind if I ask this time?”

Ford only remained silent.

“I’m gonna take that as a yes”

Meta already knew that their theyfriend was suspicious of their host. So he let them do the talking.

“Name?”

“Stanford Pines, you?

“Magolor Clawthorne”

“Sir Meta Knight of Planet Popstar”

“Do you have a portal in here?”

“….No”

Magolor raised an eyebrow. They slowly drew a spell circle to summon their potions belt. They knew that bringing their cudgel would only make things worse. But when they looked around, there was a picture of a person that looked like Stanford. Immediately connecting the dots, they asked, “Do you have a sibling?”

Ford was stunned. How did this strange being find that out? Even worse, they might find out about the portal beneath the cabin. Probing Magolor may get him somewhere. “What makes you ask?”

“Because of the picture behind you.. it seems old, did you lose them recently?”

“Yes.”

“To a portal, am I right?”

Meta Knight grins underneath his mask. Magolor had successfully gotten something out. Ford, on the other hand, internally groans. Why and how does he know these things?! Turns out, Magolor had opened a probing potion when they summoned the belt earlier.

Few hours have passed since Magolor had hit the jackpot. Ford eventually relented and showed them both the portal, Magolor quickly recognized said portal. The portal is not active nor does it have the fuel to operate. So they left it alone.

They soon head back up to the cabin’s living room, where Magolor and Meta realized, Ford was the problem. He pushed away the only person that could have helped him. Hell, he didn’t even try to get his brother back.

“Say, Ford. Do you regret it? Pushing him away?” Magolor asks, to which they were surprised by the response of “no”

“Why have you done it anyway?” Meta Knight questions.

“Because he ruined my life! My chance to go to West Coast Tech!”

“Now there’s the problem. Did it never occur to you what he might’ve felt? …Being alone?”

“Of course, he was fine with it!”

“Are you sure of that yourself? Or is it just blind affirmation? And take it from me, you don’t want to live with regrets.”

“If, let’s say I regret it. What would happen?”

“Things that you could’ve done, things that could’ve said. And when they’re gone, pain, sadness, and anger at yourself when the last thing you did with them was go out nd leave them alone. Only, when you come back, they’re gone. Never to be seen again. Put your self in their shoes and maybe you’ll find out.”

They go silent for a while.

Ford replies, “Well if I was Stanley, I wouldn’t have doomed my whole life.”

“Why not change?” They transformed into their other form and moved a flap towards themselves saying, “It’s difficult, but it’s how we all grow. It is hard to realize that you can’t cling onto something forever.” Magolor then takes out the Teal Mask, clutching it hard, “But of everything you let go, let go of grudges. They are painful to hold.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.”

Okay, so I really like Female Silver. (Obviously, I like Male Silver better, but still.) It’s a bit hard to explain, but I like the idea of Lilia trying to raise a sweet, angelic girl and figuring out how to keep her safe while respecting her independence. Here, I drew Lilia catching Silver as she fell asleep. The image isn’t one of my best, but I like it well enough.

Anyway, while I’m here, some headcanons for a Female Silver AU.

*When Silver got her first period, neither she nor Lilia knew what the heck was going on and panicked. Lilia took her to a midwife who—after laughing—explained what was happening. Both were horrified and had trouble understanding that it was natural. (Lilia was then traumatized when he looked at the biology book Silver was given to help understand what was happening to her body.) *While none of the boys were overprotective, they were all very much aware that Silver was beautiful and were cautious around strangers. As such, they’re a bit more defensive of a female Silver than a male Silver, as a pretty female will attract danger more than a pretty male. **Lilia taught Silver to never talk to strangers but never told her why. *The second thing he taught Silver when her chest grew was how to break someone’s arm. The first thing was how to break “hardwood.” *To this day, Lilia never had the sex talk with Silver. He’s tried a few times but, whenever he does, he sees his baby girl and wusses out. **Despite this, Silver is very much aware of sex as they had a burrow of bunnies behind the cottage and, since she can talk to animals, they explained the concept. (Though, as all her information comes from animals, she’s a bit mixed up.) ***On that topic, Silver herself is very curious about sex and relationships. VERY curious. *When Silver first arrived at NRC, people were quite taken with her beauty, however, only a few brave ones approached as others saw her stoic features as ice Queen qualities. *At first, Malleus was confused (and a bit jealous [not for romantic reasons, but that people were approaching her]) when people approached Silver as they acted in a way he wasn’t familiar with. When he discovered what was going on and that Silver was being pursued, he had a mini-freak out. There were thunderstorms, and students were getting struck by lightning—it was chaos till Lilia stepped in and told him to calm the heck down. **Silver was bewildered by the whole experience and still had no idea what was going on. ***On that topic, Silver is still 100 % oblivious to romantic topics. *Malleus still sees Silver as a little girl and is always thrown off when something happens to remind him that she’s a young woman. He honestly has trouble processing it, but when he does, he gets melancholy. *When Silver first arrived at NRC people thought she and Lilia were an item due to how close they were. **They thought the same when Sebek arrived till he LOUDLY rejected the notion. *Lilia tries to act calm and cool, but one time Lilia saw a bruise on Silver’s neck and—believing it was a hickey—obsessed over it for hours, till Silver informed him that she got it while training. Basically, he can pretend to be calm all he likes but that girl more often will send him into panic without knowing it. (Just like Male Silver does.) *Silver finds her long hair annoying, but keeps it as she likes it when her father styles it. (Meta: This is a defense for me as I just like drawing long hair.) *Like her male counterpart, Silver is a strong fighter and hopes to become a knight.

Anyway- Kirbytober Day 7: Headcanon

In my lil headcanon, I like to think that after King Dedede shot Kirby out of the castles vines to go fight Queen Sectonia, Dedede DOES still fight Shadow Dedede while Kirby deals with the first phase of Dreamstalk Sectonia.

This is all assuming that Kirby doesn't beat it in like 2 minutes and Sectonia puts up a decent fight.

Cos in that time Dedede has to fight Shadow Dedede- smash the mirror (This is mostly a story thing for me lmao), escape the castle and also find Taranza and persuade him to help deal with Sectonia once and for all...

I read a story on AO3 where the focus was Dedede talking to Taranza after he got blasted off the balcony. I'll try to link it later if I find it, but I head canon that happening here too.

As for Dark Meta Knight... I let him fester in the mirror still, but with the mirror smashed, he's stuck there. The Mirror shards get scattered so this can't happen again, but it would be such a shame for someone to try and piece back the mirror, or even find ONE mirror shard for it to corrupt them next... terrifying!

Only thing that confuses me is the whole... mirror in the mirror stuff.

...My alternate headcanon I could have gone with is simply Sectonia is still clinging onto life in limbo where Morpho Knight calls home. Yeah that would have been 10x easier than this lmao.

Dark Souls 2 ramblings under the cut.

I wanted to like DS2, but at the end of the day it wasn't for me. Elden Ring and Dark Souls made me use up all the empty notebooks I still had lying around and get to work like I was on a research expedition. Only some of the sense of accomplishment in these games comes from overcoming their difficulty. For me the draw is much more about collecting the mythos' puzzle pieces, always on the lookout for these satisfying moments when a new connection just clicks. Something about that feels so intense, inspiring and emotional, and as if it was made just for you personally.

Now, it was certainly a mistake to use a cheat sheet in an attempt to avoid the frustration that comes from knowing you will miss stuff if you don't, especially if you only plan to do one playthrough. The satisfaction of finding everything that way is not worth the loss of wonder and excitement that playing blind can give you.

That being said, I can't say DS2 made me want to put in the same effort to understand the lore. And I'm still wondering why that was. Maybe I was just burned out from Souls games after playing all of ER and DS1 in one and a half years. But maybe it also had something to do with the game just being very confusing, the places and characters feeling oddly disconnected from narrative hooks, almost everything being an exercise in frustration rather than a good balance between failure and success, and item descriptions often feeling lacklustre. It felt overly long, it just never seemed to draw to a close. I've seen much more eloquent comments on it, one of them being that Drangleic, on a meta level, feels more like it was created to be a string of video game levels rather than an immersive, lived-in world, which I have to agree on.

Anyways, towards the end of the game while being stuck on Fume Knight, Vendrick, or Aava respectively, I realized that as much as I wanted to care about them and the story, I just... couldn't care less anymore. I'm obviously being a drama queen but it was hard to accept that I wasn't going to finish this game.

I've since watched a playthrough of the last parts of the game I missed, and saw some lore videos that had me baffled at how much depth there would have been to discover. Confirmed that I had barely scratched the surface.

I still have a lot of love for the series and even feel nostalgic for DS1 already despite being like 13 years late to finding it, and I'm already looking forward to Dark Souls 3. But I'm taking a break so I can fully appreciate what it has to offer, going into it open-minded and as blind as possible. Until then, I'll celebrate Elden Ring by keeping the lore artbook going, and getting myself killed in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 because what do you mean you won't let me dodge roll??
