Imagine having the arrogance of talking like this. And this is a thirty something year old TEACHER acting like this. This will be the last time I ever do a post like this but, honestly, I am so sick of her negativity. And the fact people LIKE her talking like this…they should be ashamed of themselves. Batman and Robin!Jason, who are getting to interrogate some criminal (they need his confession and he just won't budge) for the first time together, and Jason begs Bruce to allow him to be a bad cop. That's like, a total opposite of Dick, who loved being good cop, while B interrogated the hell out of them.

But Bruce can't say no, so he just nods along, thinking that criminal would probably be too scared of his presence anyway to not confess. Expect, criminal isn't, and Jason is grilling his ass in a surprising manner that makes Gordon whistle in another room.

“Helly was never cruel” is SO satisfying cause honestly even before I either heard/considered the “Helly is Helena” theory I remember getting so mad at some Helly/Helena scenes on the severed floor this season but I couldn’t put my finger on why and was like, angry at the writers for mischaracterizing Helly.

Then once I had an inkling of “what if this is Helena pretending to be Helly” those moments made so much more sense. There are still some moments where it truly does FEEL like Helly but others that are just like, off.

And the moment in question of her being cruel that Irv brings up was one where I was like “that had better be Helena cause otherwise I’d be upset”

Bit of a shame I left hp before I entered svsss because one of my favourite tropes at the time was 'dumbledore calls in External Support from different fandom during ootp and they show up to grimmauld to help (and utterly upstage everyone in the process)'.

And needless to say Sqq, at any point, would have been perfect.

Like. He's a teacher too. A scholar. Secretly from the modern world so he'd have no trouble with its intricate and mysterious workings, incidentally making himself look very cool and competent in the process. He'd have So Many Opinions. He'd incite bloody war with umbridge. He'd project his feelings for sj onto Snape with a side of commiseration for his role and fate. He'd mostly pretend to know so much less about hp than he actually does (which, hilariously, he canonically name drops in svsss, AND his system is pretty heavily implied to have previously worked in, like wow). He'd be constantly comparing Harry with lbh. He'd have a running internal dialogue bemoaning the world building, the characters, Harry's fate, the general decision making process, maybe some death of the author. Geeking out about magic. Raiding the library whenever he's free.

He might bring his students as part of an exchange, he might bring a fellow peak lord if it was a serious mission (liushen anyone?) he could bring adult lbh. Maybe sqh? Or sqh could be the messenger with the system and/or mbj.

A self aware character who couldn't live with himself if he didn't at least try to change Harry's fate whether or not he actually likes the kid? He could canon that divergence before you could say horcrux. That kind, oblivious, smoking hot exotic teacher who had people ruining their lives for him in a world that was used to people that pretty and also hated him specifically?? The hogwarts students wouldn't stand a CHANCE.

Man the scenes are coming to me so strongly I almost want to write it just as a like. Satire piece or something. Just Sqq ripping everything to shreds, accidentally or not. Diatribes on the author biases. Unintentional themes. Iffy world building choices. Nothing new, but through the lens of svsss' Sqq it'd be something for sure XD.

as someone who’s never liked timsteph i find it so funny that i just accidentally talked myself into a revrob au of them. revrob au where war games happens, steph (~15) gets captured & tortured, except this time tim (~16) comes in to try & help but due to [unforeseen circumstances] no one comes as backup, and they’re both tortured, leading to steph’s red hood era via being resurrected somehow by arthur brown and tim’s oracle era brought on via complications due to torture.

tim’s the one person steph won’t target, and steph’s the one person tim can’t really get angry with about killing, because they get it.

finally finally finally FINALLY got around to working through different savings options to figure out which account was best for me and then setting it up. I'd been telling myself to get around to this for nearly a year now, but a. I have the same aversion to thinking about this stuff that many people do and b. my previous account wasn't that bad.

but my new account is going to generate roughly a third more in interest this year than the old one. which is. really very very noticeable given that the whole process start to finish took about an hour and a half, and only took that long because i decided to actually read multiple sets of terms and conditions for once. and i don't think i'll have to do this again for a considerable time.

so, you know. do shop around when it comes to banking! they make money out of you by assuming that you aren't going to change your account when it makes sense for you, and if you aren't careful you'll find yourself earning half the market rate.

You’ve mentioned them having to watch even light teasing around CC!Donnie very carefully (even things along the lines of calling him a baby jokingly are probably no bueno anymore) but I can also see Donnie getting frustrated about reacting so badly to it post-CW because come on, these are his brothers, he WANTS to have fun with them. It’s fine. He can handle a little teasing. He’s not a sensitive baby, and he doesn’t want them to start thinking of him as such. Stop overreacting so much, brain.

His brothers like “no that’s a trauma response and those don’t have to make sense and you’re allowed to tell us if something we’re saying is making you uncomfortable” and meanwhile Donnie is like I need to be hard reset like a faulty computer actually

oh yeah absolutely,,, i think most steps of donnie's recovery are going to start with him pushing hard too fast and only causing himself further harm, and then finally backing off and easing into it. there's still a little part of him that's stubbornly independent about wanting to lead his own recovery completely, and like of course its his place to establish his boundaries and he needs his space to process things, but he still struggles to contend with the fact that they're going to worry about him-- that they want to.

usually the thing that turns him around is because he's reminded that he's not the only one recovering, and a lot of the boundaries they set for him and how they treat him are not exclusively about his feelings-- they're never going to spar with him again because they have ptsd about being forced to hurt him, for example. the kind of reaction cc!leo has when he shouts at c!donnie in the crossover comic is actually kind of typical for most accidental ribbing, it's a difficult thing for them as well. even if donnie's at a point where he doesn't find it uncomfortable or even seems relieved, they're going to backtrack and be horrified with themselves. they made fun of him so much even before the curse, and it's a reason they didn't realize anything was going on, either-- they know rationally that kitsune is gone and nobody can cast magic quite like that (that they'd have beef with, at least) but there's still a part of them that screams its coming back and its going to get worse.

mikey would probably the only one who'd ease into that, but itd still be pretty careful because he's always the first to think about what donnie wants. there's a couple of instances in cw of raph and leo overthinking and worrying about things even after donnie's already set his boundaries and mikey reminding them that it's donnie's call above all else, and that'd probably apply for this too. (generally i think what mikey has that the others dont that allows him to be the one always pushing and enacting change is the fact that he's never had any power over donnie. they're equals, and when they're not donnie was always happy when mikey looked up to him and trusted him. even under the curse a lot of what he worked for was implicitly about protecting mikey as his younger brother, unlike raph and leo who looked to the guidance of). i dont think it'll ever go back to normal, but mikey will eventually fumble into a dynamic where he can joke around with donnie without making him feel like he's the butt of it.

i don’t think that it’s possible to separate the christian themes of the spectre (2001) from its narrative. ultimately, this is a comic that means to combat the idea that the human spirit needs to undergo punishment in order to deserve salvation, and so it targets the religion which most often preaches that message. however, i think that it is extremely telling that the narrator of the comic is a jewish man whose goal within the series is to reject god’s wrath in favor of god’s redemption. so while this is a comic that is inherently christain, it is also a comic that strongly resonates with judaism because it spends so much of its time sympathizing with hal and his faith. and like viewing it from this perspective has made the series so much more enjoyable for me because the narrative is no longer in conversation with itself about religious dogma, but is instead engaging with the differing belief systems its main character has in comparison to its world.
