I'm not normally one to do anything more than lurk on social media. But 2 days ago I got properly introduced to omegaverse content after being to intimidated for a while, yesterday I discovered Let Me Try, and now I am tearing through LINK content like a rabid dog.

What are canon ages of the boys at the time of Close your Eyes and Lock Me In?

Do you have an idea of a time gap between those two stories? They seem to be the main points of reference of the timeline

Like all the other specifics for the stories, their ages / locations / accents etc. are a bit vague on purpose. I like to leave the room for everyone’s own imagination based on what they’re familiar with. It makes things a bit fuzzy for the timeline sometimes, but I just prefer having the blurred reality instead of basing it on real places and tracking a firm timeline.

But generally, I eyeball the gap between CYE and LMT to be maybe a couple of years.

The later on in the timeline we get with the newer published parts, I’ve been thinking that Kizzy, as the oldest of the four, are now getting closer to the mid-twenties mark and maybe over. 

The age order is: Isac as the oldest (by two critical weeks🤺), then Kit, Liam’s a year younger, and then Nathan. -> Nat’s age difference to the others & the gap between the stories could technically vary +/- an extra year or so, depending on whatever length of uni you’d want to imagine.

So basically, the canon is vague and they are all twenty-ish something in CYE and LMT xx

the other option is of course that while many enemies believe they can overpower mario, no one wants to mess with luigi, and so they always opt for the emotional devastation route instead.

Yes the chalex was in fact timeloop asdf. Executive decision therefore all will be about rbr!oscar. Heads up that I originally plotted that back in August last year and I have been rewriting it on and off for the past few weeks so everything is very stc and under heavy construction

5. Is there any scene you're excited about writing? I am making Logan and Oscar go on a road trip at one point! Genuinely one of my favorite parts of the fic and one of the few if not the only one that has so far survived the carnage that the doc is currently going through.

Important lore but is the fact that here, Logan never did F1 (or at least is now racing in Indy) so he is US based unlike Oscar over in the UK. So original plan was Logan to take Oscar on a road trip through the US to get his mind off of the season but the fic has been getting less depressing through rewrites so I might move it to Europe. Because I know it better lol. But yes, a road trip

7. What are your plans for Oscar? Oscar initially had a very messy and not well planned character arc that felt like I have been putting him through shit constantly and his character is the primary reason why I am replotting so much of it.

The original idea was uh... well look at what happened to the other two Aussies in Red Bull so far haha. But with timeloop where the ghost of Max Verstappen hangs over everything I am not particularly too fond of writing a fic where his ghost hangs over everything again. I need variety. Also idk how I feel writing Red Bull heavy fic rn so things will have to change on that front.

But the current plan is to stick him in a Red Bull for 2025 and have him face the fact that he no longer has a teammate that he gets along with like a house on fire and the idea of adjusting to a very different team from McLaren. But he is still an Aussie in a Red Bull. Some suffering will be required (affectionate)

10. If unpublished, can you show a sneak peek of what you've written? I am lowkey not happy with anything from it cause it is from a time when I was still super rusty but this has survived the carnage so far and will probably survive. Important context is that originally, this took place over the winter break but timelines might be condensed and this might be summer break instead

He spends Christmas in Australia with his family. During the limbo week between then and New Years he flies to America. Despite flying first class, he still doesn't sleep on the plane and feels like collapsing when he finally gets to Miami. He is coherent just enough to pick up his luggage and find Logan in arrivals but not much more. The hug they share can barely pass off as friendly but hey, Oscar is exhausted, it's a reasonable excuse. It’s on the correct side of too friendly in this context. When they get to Logan's apartment, Oscar manages to take a quick shower before collapsing to bed. He doesn't even bother to check which bed in which room, Logan would tell him if he minded. So he doesn’t give it any more thought and lets himself fall asleep, exhaustion finally winning. He wakes up to see the room bathed in the golden light of a sunset, slightly confused before he realizes where he is. Right, he's in Florida, at Logan's place. He looks around, properly studies the room now that he doesn't feel like collapsing again.

Emerald guyfight or hal suicide exploration

Emerald Guyfight: my "Hal loses the fight in GL (1990) #25" AU. I've talked abt this one with you as well as publically a good deal but it follows canon divergence Hal throughout the rest of Jones' GL and Emerald Twilight, before going into New Dawn(?) Or whatever the Kyle intro era is called. This wip splits pretty clearly in two POV wise, with GL #25-50 being redone almost exclusively from Hal's pov, and then everything after being mixed pov with John, Kyle, mystery additions, etc. Not sure how this wip is set to end however, or if I'd want to leave it at the end of the Zero Hour/GL#0 timeframe and resolve it there, or stick closer to canon and do my own vers of Final Night.

A snippet from my vers of GL #25

I mainly have the Halguy fight scenes drafted, as well as a few bits of Hal's thoughts to himself as he travels to Oa in my vers of GL 49 (as well as like half an unfinished John & Hal scene immediately after the snippet above). Decided to go with a bit of the first fight scene here (despite hating writing action) because I wanted smth au specific and didn't want to spoil the best parts of the 2nd Halguy fight (a draft I which I think I also posted somewhere, but need to edit bc i added an important plot element)

Anyways yeah. Think this is an au which will probably be split into two fics between a #25-50 Hal pov fic and a rotating pov response to the aftermath and all that comes with it, from the povs of the surviving old + new GL characters.

Hal Suicide Exploration:

This is just a vague idea but I'm p sure I read GL (2011) #18 [aka Hal's talk w Tomar-Re's spirit and following suicide to escape the black ring] around the same time Knight Terrors was being released irl, which left a few thoughts in my head. While I haven't actually read the green lantern knight terrors stuff or any of the event, the vibes stuck with me, especially that one panel with Hal being dwarfed by the giant apparition of himself as Parallax. So I like to think that this idea would really focus on him being trapped in some sort of nightmare or nightmarish realm mirroring in some way GL (2011) #18 with figures of his dead friends and just following up on the threads of this pattern of suicidal behavior as well as like guilt and responsibility over stuff like parallax (Among other things). Something where he has to say what he already knows aloud in order to fight it. Quite likely literally as I may have him be hunted a bit by the figure of parallax (only to dispel it by claiming the apparition as false and parallax as his own actions

I can understand when people want a minority protagonist, but when it's a diverse cast people look for first when choosing authors, books, or movies it's this certain level of weird in which getting their social justice points in for the day matter more than the actual story. Not everywhere follows the logic of California.
