OPM Royalties celebrate the beauty of love once more in #LOVETHROWBACK 2
By: Denise Villamar and Jamie Ortega
On Valentines Day, 6 of the most celebrated OPM singers in the country were united and treated their fans to an unforgettable Valentine’s Day concert titled #LoveThrowback2 at the PlCC, Plenary Hall, in Pasay City.
After a successful run last year featuring Gino Padilla, Chad Borja, WencyCornejo, Roselle Nava, Nina, Raymond Lauchengco and Rico J. Puno, concert organizer Royal Chimes had once again pulled off another successful night with a new set of singers-- Jinky Vidal, Ariel Rivera, Nina, Christian Bautista, Joey G. and Haji Alejandro.
Jinky Vidal opened the night with her famous hits, “If I Believe”, “One Hello”, and the crowd favorite“So Slow.” Her set was followed by Side A’s lead singer Joey G who performed classic faves “So Many Questions”, and “Tell Me.” To cap off his set, Joey got on the acoustic guitar to perform an awesome rendition of one of their most popular tunes, the 2000 hit song “Forevermore.”
After performing at the first Love Throwback session last year, Nina once again proved why she is the undisputed Soul Siren Of Asia with an impressive performance of “I Love You Goodbye”, “Someday”, and “Love Moves In Mysterious Ways”.
The crowd went a bit giddy as actor and singer Ariel Rivera serenaded them with a heartfelt rendition of “Sana Kahit Minsan” and “Don’t Know What To Do”. The singer even went down the stage and interacted with ladies from the crowd, which made the ladies even more giddy!
Asias Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista was definitely on a mission that night. He tugged at the heartstrings of the brokenhearted and loveless that night by telling the audience that he will perform songs with the intention to make the bitter feel better, and he did just that through his songs“Hands to Heaven, “Colour Everywhere”, and “The Way You Look at Me”.
Before Christian ended his set, Jinky Vidal and the final performer of the night Hajji Alejandro entered the stage and performed the classic, soul-wrenching tune, “Nakapagtataka,” popularized by Hadji’s daughter, Rachel Alejandro.
Hajji Alejandro, dubbed as “Kilabot ng Kolehiyala” revealed during his set that he can’t help but feel a bit nostalgic and sentimental with the songs he performed that night which included “Panakip Butas” and “Tag-Araw Tag Ulan”. Hadji also got the crowd giggling with his anecdotes of how his fans would go crazy over him during his younger years, and judging by the way the audience reacted that night, it became pretty clear that time hadn’t changed a thing- his loyal fans apparently still love him up to now.
Due to another successful event mounted by the concert producer and promoter Royale Chimes, the artists announced that there will be a repeat on May 27! Its definitely gonna be one unforgettable night full of sweet summer lovin’!

Wanna One: One The World Tour in Manila
Thanks to Wanna One (and Pulp Live World Productions, of course) I was able to start my September with a bang!
I started ‘stanning’ Wanna One since their Produce 101 days (and I am also a low key fan of Nu’Est, most especially Minhyun, since their debut). From then on, I made it a point to watch every episode of the second season of Produce 101 religiously and I felt over the moon when all of my…

Oh Wonder: Live in Manila
If it happens that you view my profile through desktop, which I believe no one does (lol) you will have an idea already of this band because most of the music in my playlist are sang by Oh Wonder.
So Last July 21 they had their first concert here in Manila!!!! To promote their new album entitled Ultralife. I must say this album is very different than before because it transitioned into something upbeat and happy unlike before it is so mellow. Nevertheless, I think nothing’s wrong with that. Versatility is always something that we look forward to with our favourite singers and bands (or that’s just for me idk)
OKAAAAY ENOUGH TALKING SO HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED THROUGHOUT THE DAY OF THE CONCERT
I travelled to our condo near from my school so it will be less hassle for me to go to the venue which is very far from my house. I took an Uber. I arrived around 4pm but my friend was a bit earlier so she decided to look out the venue just incase something’s happening there and she was surprised that the line was sooooo long already even though it’s 4 hours prior to the opening of gate. So she just decided to fall in line while waiting for me and my other friend.
After waiting of almost 4 hours finally!!!!!
@ Samsung Hall, SM Aura
THE STAGE DESIGN AAAAAAAH THE O W LETTERS
THEY ARE JUST SO GOOD I AM SCREAMING ALMOST THE ENTIRE CONCERT I EVEN WANTED TO CRYYYYY
MY CUTIEPIES
I apologize if I have no video clips inserted it is because I never get the chance to record a long lenth because I am just enjoying the moment nevertheless I uploaded a lot of clips to my instagram and snapchat.
Concert buddies!!! Anina - Daff - MEEEE
All in all the concert was just so perfect!!!!!!!!!!!! Cliche yah but really no words can explain. To more nights like this!!!!!!!!
Credits to the owner of the Oh Wonder pictures. I just grabbed this from instagram searching the hashtag #OhWonder and #OhWonderPH. It’s not that I didn’t try to take a picture of them I did but it’s just so disappointing. I am in the middle and I am so small I cannot anymore take a decent picture that angles them perfectly. All you can see are the phones. So yep.

KENNY ROGERS BRINGS ENTERTAINING YET BITTERSWEET FINAL WORLD TOUR TO MANILA
By Denise Villamar & Jamie Ortega
Photos: Patrick Lasanas (Patparazzi PH)
Grammy-award winning superstar Kenny Rogers took his fans down a memory lane full of fun musical memories as he performed his jukebox classics at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last August 11, 2016 as part of his Final World Tour Despite the bad weather, the fans were treated to a warm and special night beginning with front act Asias Acoustic Sensation Aiza Seguerra who serenaded the audience with her sweet and soothing voice. Kenny Rogers opened his show with "Lady Luck”, followed with “Ruby” and”Walking My Baby”. Kenny was later joined by country singer Linda Davis, who Mr. Rogers’ later told everyone that sheis the mother of Lady Antebellum’s lead singer, Hillary Scott.
Davis’ joined Rogers for several songs, including a frisky duet of “Anyone Who Isn’t Me Tonight” and what seemed to be one of the most loved duets that night, “We’ve Got Tonight,” originally performed with Sheena Easton. People were on their feet as he performed a medley of “Through the Years and “You Decorated My Life”. He also performed hits such as the heartfelt song “Lady”, “Heroes” , “Gambler” , “Islands” and “Old Friends” then invited Linda Davis on stage again for their Finale, “Blaze of Glory”
Since that was Rogers’ final tour, he made sure to highlight the songs that topped the chart and made him one of the most popular stars to date. He also made interesting stories throughout his career with several life testimonies. He and his 6 piece longtime band rolled through nearly two hours of musical greatness.
Though he could barely walk, the concert yet well-received and could be considered as one of the most memorable concerts his fans experienced, especially for those who grew up listening to his music. It was entertaining, brought good memories, and at the same time, was also bittersweet. With all that he has achieved, Sure does, Mr. Rogers’ has set the bar high for the artists of this generation.
We are truly grateful for Ovation Productions and Grace Foronda for giving Sound Check Manila team the opportunity to watch a legend perform. Congratulations for pulling off another sold- out concert!
