Prickly pear:

Note the flat paddles and the size. There are smaller prickly pears out there, but generally you need several paddles on the cactus before it can start fruiting properly.

Listen, y'all, i'm fucking obsessed with this game, okay? I can suspend my disbelief for long enough to excuse harvesting an entire cactus to get the fruit, completely disregarding the spines that would puncture the average person's hands. You're a cryptid-like farmer who does all sorts of crazy shit. that's fine. it's fine.

BUT IF YOU'RE GOING TO SPECIFY THE TYPE OF CACTUS, YOU SHOULD GET IT RIGHT.

(to clarify I am exaggerating my anger for comedic effect but this does genuinely bug me as someone who lives in the same state as both of these types of cacti.)

I wouldn't call Clint an incel or stalker, personally, but I understand why people get that vibe. Clint in particular really suffers from the static feel of SDV characters that I also got after getting 5+ years into one file. Like I chose to marry Sam and got a little tired of him repeatedly saying he never learned how to cook bc his mom was always responsible for that...I know that you've mentioned this feeling WRT the spouses but it can also affect non-marriage candidates like Clint. I'm sure part of the dislike for him is his appearance, but he's so miserable all of the time and the lines about his life outside of Emily never really change. His heart events are all about her too, not allowing him any opportunities for growth. I really don't mind him when he's being normal, mostly when you speak with him for his shop. But the rest of it does drag my opinion of him down a bit. I think if he was more like platonic Shane, that would be a lot better for him. I've heard that Shane gets worse again as a spouse, but his overall transformation even outside of heart events gave me the opposite effect that Clint did.

it’s interesting that you bring up how static most characters in the game are, because it’s such a blessing and a curse. the game is meant to be relatively chill, one where you can take it at your own pace, and if characters starting changing in significant ways before people have gotten to know them, they might feel left behind. i’ve seen some possible examples being sebastian moving to zuzu city after a certain time, or george and evelyn passing away, or jas and vincent growing up to be teenagers, which would all definitely be interesting and make the world feel a bit less frozen in time, but could also not mesh well with the chill vibes the game is trying to maintain.

regarding clint, i do think it would help if he got some actual development. having him still be hung up over emily over the course of potentially years is a bit weird, and not a good look for him. but you could say that about nearly every character in the game, and i don’t think it warrants the negativity surrounding him in the fanbase.

Congrats! You get to keep all of your existing limbs. I remembered that his girlfriend supported him during SDV's development and looked up his Wikipedia entry. As per the article:

Barone began working on Stardew Valley in 2012 and released it in 2016. He was praised for creating the game independently, as its sole designer, programmer, animator, artist, composer, and writer. To complete the game, Barone worked 10 hours a day, seven days a week, for four and a half years. For part of that time, he lived with his parents to save money before moving out with his girlfriend to Capitol Hill, Seattle. During this time, his girlfriend Amber Hageman worked two jobs to support the both of them while Barone worked a part-time job as an evening usher at the Paramount Theatre.

So yeah, he's absolutely the Spiders George of game development. A lot of love, trust, and hard fucking work went into that game, he didn't just shit it out in his free time.

the fact that Stardew Valley is a $15 indie game that came out almost a decade ago with zero microtransactions and is still receiving free DLC updates to this day is absolutely bonkers. There are $50-60 AAA games with paid DLC that have come out more recently and aren’t nearly as actively supported or updated.
