You know this reminded me of a fic I read once a long time ago, im pretty sure it was also inspired by a tale of two rulers.

(Under the cut cuz this got really long)

The premise is that Link is born a girl in a town much like Ordon village and she has memories of her past life's. I remember there was a scene where she's looking at herself in a mirror commenting on how her face is young and different but her eyes are piercing and ancient and how she remembers sailing oceans, wearing masks, defeating evil, Horrors Beyond Comprehension, etc.

By a point in her life where she remembers enough to know The Cycle, she finds a small child Ganondorf unconscious and in need of help. She knows who that is and what he could become, but all the times she's killed Ganondorf before were because he was threatening Link's home and his loved ones, but in front of her is just an innocent child.

She knows the risks but she is tired of the cycle and being kind has been one of Link's constant traits throughout her lives and this one isn't any different.

So she brings the kid with her to her home, tells him to go by a fake name (i think it was Gan but i don't remember) and they both work in the town and grow together. They are close enough in age to be brother and sister but Link is kinda his mom since her mind is Old™. She teaches him farming, how to play music and the spirit of adventure.

But the day finally comes where Ganondorf starts to remember things and grows distant. One day he confronts Link and asks "you knew didn't you?" She confirms and pleads with him that they don't have to do this again, he gets mad, leaves and Link doesn't stop him.

She is absolutely heart broken that the one she'll have to fight, the one that has been one of her greatest enemies so many life times, is the boy she helped raised.

I was thinking, if Link, Zelda, and Ganon are all just continuous reincarnations of each other, shouldn’t there then be the possibility that they reincarnate at different points? As in like, Zelda could be the first born in the trio or something, or Ganon’s the last to be born, that’s what I mean

Hmm, actually, going off that idea, what if there was an incarnation of the trio where Link was born much earlier than the others, and Ganon was born last, so you have a child Ganon up against an adult Link?

Oh, and maybe, because legends always state that Link defeats the evil that is Ganon, this Link has been waiting for years for his version of Ganon to show up so that he’ll be able to defend Hyrule from his evil schemes, but then this Ganon shows up who’s only a child/teenager and hasn’t really done anything evil, but this Link has been so obsessed with trying to stop Ganon that he tries to destroy this child, so Ganon (and possibly Zelda, assuming she sees past the legend and sees that this Ganon means no harm) is our protagonist, trying to stop this mad version of the hero from killing him for something he didn’t even do, and Link is our villain

Hello hazel, I was just scrolling and came across Belta’s story and was wondering how she works mechanically? Is she like a kilston engine with steam and diesel? What does the steam do if the motor and engine turn the wheels?

So Betla is whats called a steam outline. She looks like a steam engine but is actually a diesel. A good irl example (besides Belta's poor counter part *sobs*) is Clara from the Rhyl Minurature Railway.

When built, a smaller diesel motor in the fake tender pushed Betla along, the 'locomotive' part just being a rolling 1/1 scale model.

Following her rebuild for actual service at Crovan's Gate, she instead has a larger motor hiddened within the shell of her boiler, driving her actual driving wheels. Her tender instead housing a fake steam genorator and her fuel, allowing her to puff steam, even if its just for looks. Mechanically she is a diesel, just one that *looks* like a steam engine;. The steam is almost purely comsetic. I say almost as steam is often part of engines emoting, a habit she has picked up from the steam engines on the North Western.
