I can't believe it, man. A few years older than me. And I had JUST finished coloring this fun design and making a pattern from one of my favorite childhood movies, Harriet the Spy :( I hope she got to see everything and know everything she wanted to. Rest in peace girl... 🔍🟧🐈‍⬛

Notable for both their similarities and their differences, the 1994's white front label very much appears to have been cut out by hand and pasted onto a background for photography and printing as would've still been common - if not typical - at the time, whereas the 2025 is naturally and clearly all-digital.

This particularly shows up in the back where the greater flexibility of digital allows for text to be placed on the faux-wrinkle-coat texture via strategic placement of black fill areas behind the otherwise-too-small text. All that text ended up in the large white medallion on the front of the 1994 edition, where legibility would've been assured.

Another small difference is that the tape binding on 1994 is smooth, whereas the 2025 has a distinct fabric texture to it, also visible in the scans when enlarged.

I just got this amazing composition notebook off Amazon! I was so drawn to the art on the front and the fact that the inside pages were cream colored instead of stark white. I love that it’s not round cornered, and I also love that even the little blank labeling section on the cover is very stylized! Thanks mom! I plan on writing a profile and doing art for each of the crystals I own inside this composition notebook. Today I’ll be starting with selenite. I’ll include its geological structure, my personal experiences with its metaphysical properties, and an affirmation for this crystal. -Velvet Rose 🌹

The composition notebook I’m using for taking notes at work is a notebook I’ve had since my sophomore year of high school (which was 2007/08) that I never really used. But yesterday I found this in the pages

I always want to immediately burn my journals when I finish them, but I keep this one around. I always feel oddly self conscious because it’s mostly complaining about how keeping myself alive is becoming more labor intensive. It’s not worldly or anything progressive. Just me trying to keep myself alive.

I love using composition notebooks. And you’d think because I’m crafty I enjoy drawing in the margins and shit, right? Hell no 😂 I keep it so plain in there.

But maybe I can experiment with new journal (second photo). It reminds me of an oil slick. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t grab one of those tarot-inspired Stranger Things composition nbook that Walmart had a few months ago 🥲
