Hey!!! You commented on my post about limetown haha which is why I’m here. You offered to give podcast recs! What are your favorites?? I’m looking for some new ones
I completely forgot I had this ask, excuse the delay. Here's a selection of 30 podcasts I enjoyed from a broad range of genres: hopefully at least one appeals.
Let me know if you're after something more specific.
Arden: (Investigative, Comedy) On the 25th of December, 2007, heiress and young actress Julie Capsom crashed her car into a tree and fled into a nearby forest clearing, leaving a trail that seemingly vanished into thin air, and a dismembered torso in the trunk. A decade later, Bea, the first reporter on the scene, and Brenda, a detective on the case, are hosting a true crime podcast about it, and neither is remotely impressed with what the other has to say. Arden is also a retelling of various Shakespeare plays.
Desperado: (Supernatural, Adventure, Horror Elements) In a modern world of gods and magic, three young people, all under the patronage of death dieties, embark on the same adventure for different reasons: for safety, for revenge, and to kill The Old Man in the Sky. Fantastic banter and killer action sequences.
The Far Meridian: (Magical Realism) An agoraphobic young woman wakes one day to discover her lighthouse home has travelled to somewhere entirely unfamilar. As this continues to happen day after day, she uses the opportunity to search for her missing brother. A really unique and charming piece of fiction.
Gastronaut: (Sci-Fi) Interstellar travel audio blog of a former food critic as he travels to an active warzone to get firsthand experience with unfamilar cuisine. ft. Disgruntled martian nobility, sinister businessmen, explosive mushrooms, forbidden snacks, rogue revolutionary artists, and the consequences of your actions.
Girl in Space: (Sci-Fi) The Girl In Space lives alone on a space station, doing science, making cheese, rewatching Jurassic Park, and tending to the plants, animals, and artificial sun entrusted to her. It's a little lonely, but not a bad life. Would be a shame if someone came along to ruin it.
The Goblet Wire: (Microfiction, Weird Fiction) A surreal microfiction with horror elements, taking the form of phone calls to an audio-based game in which the voice of the mysterious Dictator leads each player through fantastic and horrific world and story.
Hello From The Hallowoods: (Horror, Supernatural) A dramatic entity beyond your comprehension visits your nightmares to tell stories of the people (in varying degrees of human and alive) that inhabit the strange, deadly, and beautiful Hallowoods, as they find meaning and sometimes eachother.
Hi Nay: (Supernatural Horror) A year after moving to Toronto, sound designer Mari finds herself drawn into helping people around the city with various horrific supernatural encounters due to her babaylan (shaman) family background. It quickly becomes apparent that there's something much more sinister and complicated happening in the background.
Inco: (Microfiction, Sci-Fi) A perpetually exausted interstellar information trader and her peppy AI find a mysterious (read: bratty) boy floating in space and are inadventently pulled into a world political intrigue.
Inn Between: (Fantasy) Ever curious about what the D&D characters get up to at the tavern between sessions? A generally lighter-hearted (with some exceptions) with richly-written and always-growing characters. A really interesting format, too: a lot of the adventure appears in the "next time" and "last time" segments which makes it all flow really nicely. Not a tabletop podcast.
Janus Descending: (Sci-Fi, Horror, Tragedy) A xenoarcheologist and a xenopaleontologist are sent to a study a dead city on a distant world. Nobody likes what they find there. A unique format, with one set of logs presented first to last, and the other last to first. I'd recommend listening to the supercut for this one.
The Kingmaker Histories: (Steampunk, Weird Fiction, Adventure, Fantasy Elements) In the Valorian Socialist Republic 1911, on her 25th birthday, tailor's apprentice Colette experienced the worst headache of her life. As a result, she fleed from town with a human artificer and a fae chef - both now smugglers - pursued by an utterly furious flesh-crafter. I'm not sure I'm selling how good this podcast is but it's very good.
Life With Althaar: (Sci-Fi, Comedy) A human repairman moves to a space station on the edge of human territory that is perpetually on the edge of self-destruction, and ends up with a less-than-ideal last-minute roomate. Althaar is polite, friendly, deeply interested in human culture, and eager to be friends. Unfortunately he belongs to a species that sends humans into a visceral panic at a glance.
Lost Terminal: (Sci-Fi, Hopepunk) Seth is a very lonely AI living on a satellite. His crew were left stranded aboard with no hope of return, and it's been longer than he can count since then. The Earth below him has changed dramatically, and with only a few other AI down there to talk to, he's very lonely. But! He has a plan to make some new friends.
Love and Luck: (Romance, Slice-of-Life and Urban Fantasy Elements) Voice messages cataloguing two young men falling in love and opening a queer dry bar together.
Midnight Radio: (Light Supernatural, Romance) Sybil McIntyre, host of the ever-popular 1950's nightly radio hour, begins exchanging letters with an old fan who has reluctantly returned to visit Sybil's beloved town.
Midst: (Weird Fiction, Western, Sci-Fi and Fantasy Elements) The old-western planetoid islet of Midst floats, rotating steadily, in a sea of reality-warping darkness. Down in the town of Stationary Hill, things are in movement, and vistors from the light above are about to bring unanticipated change. ft a monocycle-riding monster-hunter, radio-famous airship paladins, deadly mica, the universe's peppiest cultist, good dogs, and a really strange businessman.
The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality: (Weird Fiction, Supernatural, Urban Fantasy and Horror Elements) A friendly AI tour guide leads you on a tour of the Mistholme Museum, explaining the strange and often alternatural story behind each item.
Monstrous Agonies: (Supernatural, Relationship Advice) An interpersonal advice show for supernatural entities and other people living liminally in the modern world.
Night Shift: (Urban Fantasy, Investigative) Set in a modern world with the addition of magic, which manifests in small inherited skills/traits, can warp people in horrific ways, or can be manipulated with the right science (and intense work) to induce superpowers. Sebastian Fenn is a barista at Night Shift Coffee, but since things are slow he's decided to start a podcast to talk about various mysteries, crimes and conspiracies around the city, and of course finds himself deeper in them than he'd intended.
The Pasithea Powder: (Sci-Fi, Thriller Elements? I think?) The last major interplanetary war was full of atrocities, but none more infamous then the creation of Pasithea Powder, a memory altering drug which was used to horrible effect and landed it's entire team of creators in prison. So when decorated war hero Captain Sophie Green sees one of them wandering free, worlds away from his prison, she gets in touch with a very old, estranged friend: one Dr. Jane Gonzalez, who's behind bars for the very same reason.
SCP: Find Us Alive: (Weird Fiction, Supernatural, Horror and Slice-of-Life elements) You don't need to know anything about SCP to enjoy this. A research team gets trapped in an underground research facility when the complex collapses and the building is dragged into a pocket dimension. The tear it was designed to study begins creating tiny copies of itself, generating strange entities the team needs to deal with. And as if that wasn't enough, the entire situation physically resets itself every 30 days. And yet, this is genuinely also an office comedy.
Second Star to the Left: (Sci-Fi) Audio logs of a scout sent to explore and establish early infastructure new world, and the communications with the minder in charge of keeping her alive.
Seen and Not Heard: (Slice-of-Life, Drama) Seen and Not Heard follows Bet, who's still adjusting to life a year after a bout of severe illness, and the resulting hearing loss it caused. It's about the ways we make connection, and food, and art, and different kinds of grief.
The Silt Verses: (Horror) In a modern world where gods are abundant, frequently both commercialised and restricted, two devotees of an outlawed river god go on a pilgrimage.
SINKHOLE: (Sci-Fi, Weird Fiction) Forum posts from a data restoration community in a near future where the human brain is its own computer and one city hosts a massive void.
Starfall: (Fantasy) Seeking to escape her mysterious past and find some purpose, a young swordswoman joins a travelling actor's troupe. This new life is unfamilar and sometimes stressful, but she's taken under the wing of stagehand Fel, who's determined to help her feel welcome as she experiences the figurative and literal magic of the theatre for the first time.
The Tower: (Weird Fiction) A low-key, meditative podcasy about a young woman who decides to climb a seemingly endless tower. Gorgeous sound design.
The Vesta Clinic: (Sci-Fi) New GP Dr. Fae Underwood, with the expert transcription skills of resident AI Sec, writes up patient reports on human and alien patients of The Vesta Clinic, a medical clinic on the edge of human space. Really comfy and creative.
Victoriocity: (Steampunk, Mystery) Set in the steam-powered Victorian city of Even Greater London, an aspiring journalist and a tired detective find themselves working together to solve a strange murder. I say Victorian but as queen Victoria is now an extensive grandiocity of cyborg components following seven only-kind-of-successful assassinations, you may need to adjust expectations a little.

before i get to requests again, punk miguel has been on my mind! i'd like to think that he's in a band with some of the other senior spiders like jess, peter, and ben. hobie could be there too, because he's obviously also punk.
i'm also thinking about a reader who's an independent artist, they got big due to sheer creativity and social media. they're nearly the complete opposite of miguel's aesthetic. sweet, soft, and serene. he was naturally drawn to you the moment he walked by you backstage.
"hey, you." he'd caught you in the break room, the music festival that you two were invited to had allowed some downtime before the big act later at night. to which you diligently took the time to devour all of the free snacks that they left in the cupboards and mini fridge, so you were more than embarrassed that the leader of woven wishes caught you.
"i'm sorry, were these yours?" you muffled with a mouthful of cheese fries, slowly pushing them away from you. blasted, you were caught cheese-handed. but miguel simply chuckled loudly, before setting himself in front of you on the small round table.
"nah, they're peter's, but i'm sure he wouldn't mind." they were still somebody else's lunch, so you decidedly tucked the box away for now. hastily grabbing some tissues from the nearby dispenser to freshen up a little, god forbid anyone see how not soft you get when eating. "so, i heard you're fresh in the industry. is that right?"
he heard. he's heard about you. "oh, uh, yeah! i'm pretty new. the internet has been my stage for a while, so it's pretty surreal to feel the physical eyes on me now..."
"i get that, minus the internet bit, don't really use it, but hey. you've got a lot of good material, jess played me one of your songs." miguel shrugged, "keep it up, don't give any of this shit to the big corps, okay? trust me."
"i- i wasn't really planning on that, haha. don't worry," you felt awfully awkward. what could you say to someone with as much experience as miguel? you knew of his reputation despite not being in his genre, his presence was just that powerful. "you... like my songs?"
"of course, guess you could say that i'm bit of a, uh–" miguel cheekily swooped his hands through his ruffled hair, as he flashed a darling smile at you. "... romantic at heart."
immediately, you roared with laughter. miguel didn't think that he could achieve it, hearing how smooth your voice sounded through your recordings couldn't compare to how good you sounded when you laughed.
"ahh... i'll take it your word for it then. miguel, if i'm right? you're infamous."
"don't let that scare you, 'm perfectly harmless."
"i wasn't worried about that," you giggled lightly, still recovering from his joke. "trust me, i've heard nothing but good things about you. i've heard some of your band's songs from time to time and i can see you why you're so beloved in the community."
"really?"
"really."
miguel didn't know why he had such a hard time believing it, his music was critically acclaimed to be glorious, he built tough skin from the amount of bullshit he's faced in the industry. yet, hearing your opinion felt oddly refreshing. maybe there was a lot more to you than what he'd seen so far. a treasure trove of a person waiting to be discovered.

Chapter 10
Aria & Bang Chan
.
Aria
"I'll be home by 3pm," Chris's voice cut through the air.
"Your dress will arrive anytime. We're leaving at four," Chris said as he grabbed his coat hanging on his chair, heading out to his office leaving me alone in his bed.
"See you later." He waved at me before leaving and the door clicked shut behind him.
Flashbacks replayed in my head. Chris and I went through it the whole night passing out literally breathless, I couldn't remember when we started and how we stopped. Heat flushed my cheeks as my eyes fell on the floor, our clothes were scattered around the bed, my hands ran up my face awkwardly at the memory.
His room was tranquil and completely minimalistic with grey furniture and dark curtains covering his windows. The walls were a cool, muted shade, enhancing the serene atmosphere. A wardrobe was seamlessly attached to the wall, blending in perfectly with the sleek design and a desk occupied the corner of the room, its chair tilted to the side, suggesting his recent departure. Next to it, his guitar leaned against the wall.
I quickly changed into my clothes and rushed to the other end of the hall to my room and directly to the shower. The cold water felt good against my skin, washing away the remnants of the night before.
Twenty minutes later, I stepped out and saw my reflection in the slightly fogged mirror looking back at me. My cheeks were still flushed and there were slight hickey marks on my chest, I turned away refusing to look at myself.
Last night had been a whirlwind of emotions and sensations, a stark contrast to the usual coldness that surrounded Chris.
I wrapped myself in my bathrobe and moved to my dresser, my mind still replaying the intimate moments and the passionate night we shared. It felt surreal, almost like a dream, but the tender way Chris held me, the way his eyes never left mine was unmistakably real.
But fuck all of that when it's the next morning, because somehow Chris changes his entire self going back to his smug, cold personality. It irritated me, making the contrast between the night and day all the more jarring. It felt like I was talking to two different people during two different times of the day.
A knock on my door distracted me as I was blow drying my hair, I opened the door to see Deliah smiling bright as she held a huge box which was definitely my dress. "Hello dear, this package arrived for you."
I walked towards her and politely took the box, it was heavy despite how light it looked. "Thank you Deliah," I smiled, she was warm and always so cheerful, another contrast to the cold elegance of the house.
"No problem at all, dear. Enjoy your evening," Deliah said with a wink before she walked away, leaving me with the box in my hands.
I carried the box to my bed and carefully set it down. With a mix of anticipation and excitement, I opened the lid to reveal the dress nicely wrapped and a little note laying on top of it.
"I hope this makes you feel as beautiful as you are. -Chris."
I couldn't help but smile at that note. It wasn't hand written by him but I'd take small moments and gestures like this over his cold demeanour any day.
It was also these fleeting moments of warmth that gave me hope, even when the coldness threatened to overshadow everything.
Before changing into my dress, I went downstairs and made myself a snack and shared a heartfelt conversation with Deliah. It was surely thanks to her I could make myself feel at home even though tiny specks of thunder roamed every once in a while.
Once it was almost 2pm, after helping Deliah around for a bit and walk in the garden, I finally began to get ready by the time Chris came home. One experience with him for not being "ready" when he said so was more than enough, I didn't want to repeat the same mistake.
I went uptairs to my room and sat infront of my dressing table, starting to style my hair with a simple hairstyle, pulling it back in a neat fancy bun. To maintain the elegance of the hair and the dress, my makeup was subtle yet enhancing, with a soft smoky eye and a hint of blush to complement the natural flush of excitement on my cheeks.
The hour passed by just like that taking the time for my hair and makeup, as the clock neared three, I slipped into the dress. The fabric hugged my curves in all the right places. Standing in front of the mirror, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and confidence. The dress was absolutely perfect, and for the first time in a long while, I felt truly beautiful.
My eyes fell on the note on my dressing table Chris sent with the dress, a faint smile painted on my lips. Just as I finished putting on the heels, Deliah softly knocked on my door and slipped in, "Mr. Bang just arrived dear. He asked you to come down when you're ready."
I smiled, nodding at her, taking a deep breath trying to hide my nervousness. "Thank you Deliah" I said softly, my voice betraying a mix of excitement.
Deliah smiled warmly. "You look absolutely gorgeous. Enjoy your evening," she said, giving me a reassuring pat on the shoulder before leaving.
Alone again, I took one last look in the mirror, adjusting a stray strand of hair and smoothing out the dress and getting my clutch purse. Gathering my courage, and after a few minutes, I made my way downstairs.
As I descended the stairs, my hand on the glass railing, I caught the sight of Chris waiting, his gaze fixed on me with an intensity that sent a flutter of butterflies in my stomach.
My breath caught in my throat. Chris looked remarkably handsome. The classic black tuxedo was a perfect fit, hugging his broad shoulders and tapering down to accentuate his strong frame, complete with a satin lapel that added a touch of sheen.
His white dress shirt was crisp, complemented by a perfectly tied black bow tie and a silver Rolex gleamed on his wrist. The tailored trousers featured a satin stripe down the side, and his polished patent leather shoes completed the look.
There was a strong confidence in the way he stood, a magnetic aura that made it impossible to look away.
"Wow..." Chris swallowed once I made it downstairs, his adam's apple moving up and down, as if he was trying to find his words. "You're stunning." His comment pulled a genuine smile from me, I felt my cheeks flush, keeping my eyes locked with his.
"Thank you Chris," I said tucking an invisible strand of hair behind my ear.
It was the first time- maybe the second, I got a compliment from him. The butterflies in my stomach just kept multiplying as his gaze was fixed on me. And for the first time since our marriage, I saw him smile, his deep dimple was equivalant to a lethal weapon.
"You look really handsome too," My words came out softly, earning a quiet chuckle from him, he looked at the floor then me.
"Thank you," He said.
"Shall we?" Chris held out his arm, I nodded gently as I slipped my hand in his, making our way out. His sleek Rolls Royce was waiting outside the entrance, my heart buzzed with excitement and anticipation as we settle into backseats of the plush interior.
~
Bang Chan
I've always stayed true to myself since I moved out of Australia to Europe; that I will never let feelings get in my way. They only cloud judgment, muddle decisions, and lead to complications I can't afford. Life's been simpler that way.
Clear-cut, logical, and driven by ambition.
Well, ambition since I returned to the States.
Yet here I am, battling a demon inside me trying to stop it from pushing my feelings further towards a certain woman; my wife, who's sitting next to me. That logic clearly fucked up my mind. I felt like an asshole. My mind didn't want me to get attatched to her but the goddamn muscle that's beating in my chest has other plans for me.
Even having grown up with luxury, Emotions are a luxury I cannot afford.
"What kind of event is this?" Aria's soothing voice pulled me out of my thoughts, I calmed my racing breath as I shifted my gaze to her. "It's like a Coperate Gala," I replied trying to keep my voice neutral.
"Basically celebrating achievements in the coperate world. The awards ceremony was a week ago." Her eyes were filled with curiosity as I spoke, it settled an unfamiliar feeling in my chest that kind of felt...warm.
"Oh I see, that's interesting." Her face turned to the window. Goodness knows what answer I was expecting from but it was surely not that. "Will there be other guests you know?" Her tone remained cool and casual, it almost felt like she wasn't truly nervous about anything. I was definitely overthinking about tonight.
"Felix and Hyunjin will be there. Since they model for Louis Vuitton and Versace,"
I kept my gaze straight ahead before she turned to me almost twisting her neck causing my eyes to widen at her shocked reaction. She blinked rapidly, clearly taken aback by my statement. Her lips parted slightly as if she wanted to say something, but no words came out.
"They didn't tell you? My eyebrow arched, she looked down at her clutch purse then at me.
"No, not really but I did vaguely recognize them. Although, I am not so keen on the fashion industry" She was attempting to conceal her initial surprise, which I found rather cute.
I chuckled softly, the tension between us easing slightly. "Well, now you know," I said, a hint of amusement in my voice. "They've been modeling for a while now, quite successfully."
Her lips twitched in a faint smile. "It's impressive," she admitted, her tone more relaxed now that the initial shock had passed.
"Yeah, they're doing well," I agreed, feeling a strange sense of pride for my friends. It was rare for me to talk about my friends with pride—we usually gave each other shit, but in the end, they were thicker than blood.
After quite a drive, thankfully the traffic was much less than the usual nights, we reached the grand venue. The imposing doors of the Rolls Royce were promptly opened by impeccably dressed doormen, who greeted us with warm smiles. I walked to the other side of the car as Aria got out and stood before the entrance, she slid her hand into my arm as we walked inside.
Crystal chandeliers hung down the ceiling, casting a warm glow over the elegantly decorated tables, each adorned with intricate centerpieces and fine china. The soft hum of conversation of the guests dressed in tuxedos and glamorous gowns mingled with the gentle strains of classical music played by a live string quartet in the corner. But everything felt like a blur as Aria stood out, looking like a single, radiant star in a sky full of constellations.
I guided Aria through the crowd, introducing her to influential figures in the industry. My confidence and ease in these surroundings were second nature, essential traits I naturally inherited from my father; maintaining respect in the coporate world.
During cocktail hour, I introduced her to several other key executives, each conversation she held with them was effortlessly balanced with warmth and professionalism, as if she herself had multiple experiences at such events.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride having Aria by my side. Her presence was captivating, a blend of grace and intelligence that drew people in and left them wanting more at the way her eyes sparkled with interest and how her smile seemed to put everyone at ease.
I appreciated her being here with me, not just as a part of our agreement, but as a partner who could hold her own in my world.
A wave of relief and excitement swept through the room as Felix and Hyunjin entered, both of their custom suits, fitting their lean bodies perfectly. The atmosphere shifted as they made their way through the crowd, exuding confidence and charm.
"They know how to make an entrance," Aria chuckled softly. "Surely" I said as I glanced at her.
"Good evening Christopher," Felix and I shook hands, keeping our usual handshake down, maintaining professionalism. "And Hello Aria, good to see you again". He gently bowed at her, his manners impeccable. Aria returned his greeting with a warm smile.
"Good to see you too, Felix."
Hyunjin stepped forward, offering a charming smile. "You look stunning tonight, Aria," he complimented, his eyes twinkling with sincerity. She blushed slightly, her confidence unwavering.
"Thank you, Hyunjin. You both look quite dashing yourselves." The two of them couldn't suppress their smiles at her compliment.
"You were literally blue this morning. How did you manage to go platinum within such a short time?" Incredulity laced my voice as I turned to Felix. The guy's scalp was stronger than a tank's armor, a transformation faster than a Formula 1 pit stop.
Felix's grin widened as he spoke, "My stylist has their ways." He brought up his hand to fix his cufflinks, a smile so radiant I could get a sun tan just from him.
Hyunjin's eyes met mine, politely turning from Aria, "How's the project going?"
His words echoed as I exhaled a deep breath. The reminder of the project threatened a headache and the last thing I wanted while being here was a sharp stinging pain in the back of my head.
"It's progressing," I replied evenly, keeping my tone controlled. "We're gearing up for the launch next year."
"Oh great. I hope you're aware of what's on the internet," He continued.
"People's hopes are high along with suspicion when you announced sustainability and eco-friendly products in the high-end fashion industry. It's a big deal Chan" Hyunjin's tone matched my own in its controlled demeanor.
As COO of Aurelius, I was given the initiative task to launch a new sustainable luxury collection, increasing brand loyalty and attracting environmentally conscious customers.
It's quite a big shift since Aurelius was one of the top luxury brands in the world. Sustainable luxury products mean a complete overhaul of our sourcing, production, and marketing strategies.
I nodded, winking at Hyunjin, turning to find Aria engrossed in a conversation with Felix, probably talking about baking or how to bring sunshine during the thunderstorm just by stepping outside.
Her hand rose to her chest and covered her mouth as she let out a small laugh, I couldn't help but wonder why she kept doing that.
A few minutes later we made it inside the ballroom, exuded an aura of refined elegance, bathed in a soft, ambient glow cast by strategically placed spotlights. Rich velvet curtains in deep hues of burgundy and gold framed the expansive long windows, their lush textures adding a sense of opulence to the space.
As the four of us were conversing, I spotted my father; Current CEO of Aurelius, excused himself from his group and approached us with a soft but controlled smile.
"Good to see you Christopher," My father greeted as he approached.
No matter how much I'd grown and confident I became, I couldn't shake the reverence and unease that came with facing my father. His voice remained steady and neutral, rarely betraying any emotion— another trait I knew I had naturally inherited.
"Good to see you too, father," I replied meeting his gaze with a with a nod of acknowledgment. I turned to Aria, whose hand was slipped comfortably in my arm.
"Aria, you remember my father," I said. "The CEO of Aurelius." Aria smiled politely, her demeanor poised as she greeted him.
"Of course, it's a pleasure to see you again, Mr. Bahng," she said respectfully, her words measured and professional, matching the formality of the occasion.
My father inclined his head slightly in acknowledgment, his demeanor professional yet distant. "Likewise, Aria. I hope you're enjoying the evening. And I hope my son is treating you well."
"He is, sir. And thank you," Aria replied smoothly, her voice steady despite the underlying tension. She glanced briefly at me, a subtle reassurance in her eyes that belied the cool facade I presented to my father.
"Good," he remarked tersely, his tone betraying nothing of the complexity beneath the surface.
"I trust everything is proceeding according to plan." My father's gaze fell on me again, sharp and expectant. I nodded curtly, knowing full well that he wasn’t just talking about the evening’s event.
"Yes, father," I responded crisply, falling back into the familiar pattern of formal discourse with him. "The preparations for the new collection are on track. We're anticipating a strong reception."
"That's what I like to hear," he nodded, his approval measured and precise. "Remember, Christopher, Aurelius stands for excellence. Don't let anything compromise that."
"I understand," I assured him, my tone matching his in its unwavering resolve. Despite our strained relationship, there was an unspoken understanding between us. Expectations that hung heavy in the air, unyielding and immutable.
My father glanced at Aria once more, his gaze lingering for a moment longer than necessary.
"Enjoy the rest of the evening," he said finally, his tone softening imperceptibly before he turned and walked away, leaving me to ponder the weight of his words and the delicate balance I must maintain in both my personal and professional life.
"Sorry if my father was too...scrutinizing" I apologized quietly to Aria, my voice tinged with resignation. Despite my efforts to shield her from my father's scrutiny, his presence always managed to unsettle.
"It's okay," She said softly. "It felt like seeing an older version on you," I let a deep chuckle at her comment, not offended but acknowledging the similarities between my father and myself.
"I suppose I can't escape my lineage," I remarked dryly.
The evening passed by in a blur of conversations, laughter, and the soft clinking of glasses. Aria navigated the elegant event with grace, seamlessly blending into conversations and engaging with the other guests as if she belonged in this world of luxury and refinement.
And to me, she did.
Felix and Hyunjin's charismatic presence added to the ambiance, their effortless charm drawing admiration and respect from those around them.
The night wore on, we began to depart, bidding our goodbyes to my father, friends, and other guests. As we exited the venue, the slight evening breeze chilled the air, I felt Aria shiver against my touch.
I removed my tux coat and drapped it over her shoulders as we exited the building, slipping my hand in hers, a genuine smile tugging my lips. We madde it to my Rolls Royce which was waiting for us outside, entering the luxury interior and made our way home.
"Chris," Her voice cut through the silence in the car.
"Thank you for tonight." Her smile sent a pang of warm and fondness through my chest.
"You're welcome, Aria. I'm glad you enjoyed the night." I returned her smile with a soft grin of my own.
Once we reached home, Aria had fallen asleep on my shoulder. I gently carried her inside and upstairs to her room, carefully laying her down on the soft sheets, her peaceful expression a contrast to the whirlwind of emotions stirring within me.
I stood there for a moment, watching her sleep, unsure how I felt about the serenity and chaos she brought into my controlled world.

Thank you @the-toad-in-your-piano for the tag!
Three ships
Hm, I will tell about my most recent one, the one I've written the most about, and the one that got me into writing fanfic and making fanart.
The latest: Nygmobblepot! Edward Nygma/Oswald Cobblepot from Gotham. Well, what can I say? Sad, mentally ill and murderous men, what's not to like? They have an interesting relationship, and I like to see it being explored more in many different forms.
The one I've written the most: Willton, Frederick Chilton/Will Graham from Hannibal. Even though this is the ship with the highest amount of words by me, it's still only somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 words. I'm a beginner, but hopefully getting better all the time! I admit, this one isn't very popular. I like NBC Hannibal's Chilton as a character a lot, and I personally think he needs some other character to develop himself. Will gives us contrast, with his cool calculations and violent mind compared to Frederick's neuroses and anxieties.
The beginning: Good old Mystrade. Mycroft Holmes/Greg Lestrade from BBC Sherlock. I'm a sucker for emotionally suppressed middle-aged men. I suppose I could explore my own experiences through them - anxiety, depression, self esteem issues. Older queer people have always made me hopeful, and even though it really isn't the same, sometimes fictional characters work as a substitute.
First ever ship
Huh, I am not absolutely sure, but I guess this would be Johnlock. I remember seeing one of the older Sherlock Holmes films when I was younger, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, 1970, and Holmes implying Watson and he were lovers felt surreal, almost. This one was an old film for a young kid such as myself, and there they were, queer, and it wasn't only a joke, we were not only portrayed as comic relief. Obviously it was somewhat humorous (Holmes trying to avoid fathering a child for Madame Petrova), but they didn't make it seem like queer people were lesser. In a way, I felt understood - that's what not having obvious actual queer representation causes - and it stayed in the back of my mind for a long time.
Now, thinking about the ships I've now told about, I realise I (often along with other people) have headcanoned one person of the pair as asexual, even though I've only known I'm ace myself for a very short time, comparatively.
Last song
I've been listening to Hannibal the Musical and Possibly in Michigan (Animal Cannibal). Completely normal and sane songs to listen to, I can assure you.
Last movie
I watched The Lady in the Van with my parents last night. It was quite amusing, both light-hearted and serious at the same time. Before that, The Batman (2022), which I didn't like as much as some of the other Batman films, but it was quite decent.
Currently reading
Haha, I'm not currently reading anything, really. The last actual book I read was the Shining by Stephen King some weeks ago. It was much better than the film, which I watched right after, although not scary at all.
Currently watching
Gotham (2014-2019). Finding television series that can keep me watching is not the easiest task, I guess. Usually I only like a few characters, and try to resist the urge to only see their scenes as long as I can.
Currently consuming
Well, I should be getting an evening snack, but I'm writing this. Going to get an apple and some mango gurt with rice cereal.
Currently craving
This is a bit in the TMI territory, but the ability to feel strong emotions, and for once not anxiety. I feel very empty most of the time. Fortunately I have Petunia the blue tongue skink. I also would like to learn Swedish and get even more herps.
Tagging (no pressure to actually do this! Also, with my luck, everyone I tag has already participated in this, but no harm done anyways. I have literally never interacted with some of you, and never in a personal manner with any of you, but let's ignore that for a moment, or otherwise I could never participate in these)
@nygmobblepot-trash @arabriddler @shyjusticewarrior @cliobii @evansdoodles @super-who-locked-me-in-here @barbacarisi @the-chilton @no1raulesparzafan
#haha now I'll forget I never this did or I'll be very anxious haha#hahaha... ha#anyway thanks for tagging me#made me very happy

so i moved to oregon 10 years ago and they have a LAW that says you're not ALLOWED to pump your own gas. so i have not pumped my own gas in 10 years. (husband and i have driven out of state but his job was always gas and mine was snacks.)
well like a week ago they passed an amendment or something say you CAN pump your own gas now (at some pumps anyway). yesterday my car needed gas so for the FIRST TIME IN TEN YEARS (and my first time EVER with this car) i pumped my own gas.
you guys, when i say my muscle memory had atrophied. i felt like a fucking idiot. it was a completely surreal experience for me. like i was 16 again and doing it for the first time, except i'm thirty-fucking-seven and was late to pick up my kiddo from art camp and the pumps have gotten so much more complicated.

While the trek's beauty is undeniable, it’s natural to have concerns about the challenges it might present. But worry not! We’ve got you covered with this detailed guide to help you conquer Kareri Lake Dharamshala with confidence.
Setting the Scene: What Makes Kareri Lake Special?
Nestled at an altitude of 2,950 meters, Kareri Lake is a lesser-known gem that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and pristine forests, this alpine lake is fed by melting snow, making it one of the clearest and most picturesque spots in Himachal Pradesh. Whether you’re a nature lover or an adventure seeker, Kareri Lake camping offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature.
Preparing for the Kareri Trek: Know the Essentials
Before you embark on this scenic adventure, it’s essential to understand the logistics and requirements. Starting from Kareri Village, the trek covers a distance of 10 kilometres one way and usually takes 2 days and 1 night to complete. It’s categorized as a moderate to hard trek, making it crucial to prepare adequately.
Temperature Check: The Kareri Lake weather can be quite unpredictable. While daytime temperatures range between 12°C and 18°C, nights can be bone-chilling, dropping to as low as -6°C. Pack accordingly, with warm layers, thermal wear, and good-quality trekking shoes.
Fitness Level: Given the altitude and the trek’s difficulty, ensure you’re in good physical shape. Engage in cardio exercises and stretches beforehand to build stamina and flexibility.
The Journey Begins: From Dharamshala to Kareri Village
The trek starts from the serene Kareri Village, which is about 27 kilometres from Dharamshala. This picturesque village serves as the perfect starting point, offering a glimpse of the tranquillity that awaits. Climbing Higher: The Trek to Kareri Lake
The trek from Kareri Village to the lake is an experience filled with breathtaking views and challenging paths. The initial trail is relatively easy, with gentle slopes and meadows, but it soon transforms into a steep ascent through dense pine forests and rocky terrain. Halfway through, you'll reach Riyoti, a perfect spot to catch your breath and have a packed lunch amidst nature.
As you continue your ascent, the landscape opens up, revealing stunning views of the Dhauladhar range. The final stretch is the most challenging but equally rewarding as you catch your first glimpse of the shimmering waters of Kareri Lake Dharamshala.

As the night falls, the temperature drops significantly, but the thrill of being surrounded by nature keeps the spirits high. Enjoy a warm meal, share stories around the campfire, and let the tranquillity of the lake lull you to sleep.
The Descent: A Bittersweet Goodbye
After soaking in the sunrise over Kareri Lake, it’s time to begin the descent back to Kareri Village. The journey down is a lot easier, allowing you to take in the beauty of the surroundings at a leisurely pace. The sight of grazing sheep, the sound of rustling leaves, and the fresh mountain air make for a perfect end to this adventure.

Coming and Going 26.8.24
Saying goodbye to people is making this feel really real. Like, not ‘having your visa back’ really real (which I fucking hope to god comes tomorrow), but real. Standing out the front of the place in Marrickville hugging Keira while we sobbed into each other, her telling me how proud she is of me, and how excited she is for me to live my dream is something that every little sister could dream of hearing from her big sister. The profound, soul moving hug between Celia and I was so powerful and something that anyone would be so fortunate to experience, to know you’ve met your friend soul mate out of all of the billions of people on earth. How lucky you are to have people unconditionally supportive and who will always put in the effort to feel involved in your life and in your corner through literally anything.
Seeing so many people on Saturday night at our farewell was the most beautiful experience and one I count my lucky stars to have, even at the ripe age of 31 (I know I’ll read back on this as humorous because it’s pretty young and to be honest - I do see myself as quite young still so don’t worry!). To have over 20 people who love and care for you is a magical thing but what is more than the number of people there is the volume of pure love radiating in all directions, between them, to me, from me, and I can’t quite believe that little Jade as a child grew into the kind of “woman” who goes to the pub with her husband and has so many people who love her and are going to miss her when she moves to New York to live her literal dream.
It’s still so surreal and I know this is a common theme in my writing at the moment but being able to process the big change we are about to make is really difficult, even surprisingly so when we have had what feels like 10 farewells (like John Farnham) and have been away for 6 months 2 x in a row recently and pretty much gone most of the last
2 and a half years. I am familiar with the ‘leaving’ part, but it’s the ‘arriving and making a life’ bit that’s crazy. The gigs we can go to, the domestic travel to middle of nowhere towns, the visiting the Caribbean, Canada, fuck knows where else that’s close to NYC, the getting into weird sports and seeing stuff like monster trucks and Nascar and Ice Hockey and random state fairs, the Halloween (or I guess ‘fall’ in general), huge theme parks, tattoo artists we can visit, sitting around the park with a joint and a book, going to a cool gym that’s not too far away from home, having snacks in the house that I can just eat and know what food I have available around, an office to go to and have weird and awkward conversations with colleagues, but then also awesome juicy, supportive ones that blossom into friendships, seeing the same people around at gigs, finding bars or clubs or whatever the night life looks like there (are pubs as much of a thing?), learning all kinds of weird shit about consumers and retailers and brands, feeling foreign as hell and how funny that’s going to be.
I fucking hope I like it, or if I don’t like it, that it’s a really cool and interesting and exciting story that I can tell afterwards. I am still in the camp of thinking that life really is just about collecting cool stories with cool people so I hope I can continue that and even if my general outlook on life shifts at some point, that I’m fucking stoked with how it all turns out.
It’s so hard not being able to be in multiple places at a time. That of all of the interrogative words, the “where” is so crucial in my existence. That, and “when” when it comes to time zones and phone calls. I am so deeply sad about the time I am going to miss with my nieces and parents in particular, that every time I see them they are older and that’s completely irreconcilable with the reality I want to live with everything that I am. I am so devastated that to do what my soul tells me I want to do that I have to give up so much. It’s not fair that I don’t just want a normal life in the suburbs near where I grew up with all of the familiarity but at the same time I am so grateful that I am the kind of person who does the thing and seeks the great perhaps. But two things can be true at once and it’s okay I feel the painful lows as well as the drunkening highs of this experience because I genuinely think these moments are the reason for everything, the dizzying feelings in the spectrum of emotions that as a human who is alive. How fucking cool is the opportunity to do something so scary and huge as a grown up.
I do think that the car accident, compounded with Tim dying really changed it all for me. I think it was a stark and profound example of why we need to do crazy shit and really enjoy life - it’s all temporary. Like so many emo songs talk about, it’s all a bunch of fleeting moments in life and if you’re not actually really really happy, you need to change things. Take chances, find home, take these huge leaps. As Keira said this morning, I really feel like I am strapped into a roller coaster and the floor has dropped out and I am about to go on this huge ride and it’s scary but I’m full of all of this anticipation and excitement and nerves. So many extreme feeling all at once. I know it would be a lot more intense if I knew we were going on a particular date.

Swimming With Pigs – Going On A Scenic Tour In The Bahamas
The Exuma Cays are a mesmerising string of Bahamian islands, each more captivating than the last. But nestled among these azure waters lies a phenomenon that's as unexpected as it is unforgettable, swimming pigs. Yes, you heard that right. These aren't your ordinary oinkers contentedly rolling in mud. No, these pigs paddle through crystal-clear seas, living their best island life alongside visitors eager for a one-of-a-kind experience.
You are cruising through the Exuma Cays on a boat, the sun kissing your skin and the wind tousling your hair. Suddenly, a chorus of excited squeals breaks the tranquil air. Your heart races as you catch your first glimpse of these swimming celebrities. The sight is surreal, almost like a scene from a tropical dream.
But what's the story behind these aquatic acrobats? Legend has it that they were brought to the islands by sailors who planned to return and feast on them, only to find themselves delayed. In the meantime, the pigs adapted to their new surroundings, making the uninhabited islands their home. And thus, the swimming pigs of Exuma were born.
Immersing in nature
Swimming with pigs isn't just about snapping the perfect Instagram shot. It's about immersing yourself in nature's wonder, forging a connection with these charismatic creatures, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
As you wade into the water, the pigs approach you with curiosity, their eyes twinkling with mischief. They are not shy about asking for snacks, either. In fact, they have perfected the art of charming visitors into parting with their treats. But who could resist those pleading eyes and adorable snorts?
As you feed the pigs, you can't help but feel a sense of joy wash over you. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, there's something comforting about the simplicity of this moment, you, surrounded by turquoise waters and playful pigs, sharing a connection that transcends language and species.
But Swimming with pigs isn't the only highlight of the Exuma Cays. These islands are a treasure trove of natural wonders, from hidden coves and pristine beaches to vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life. Whether you're snorkelling among colourful fish, kayaking through mangrove forests, or simply basking in the sun on a secluded beach, there's no shortage of adventures to be had.
Of course, no trip to the Exuma Cays would be complete without sampling the local cuisine. From fresh conch salad to savoury Bahamian stew, the flavours of the islands are as vibrant and diverse as the landscape itself. And what better way to enjoy a meal than with a picturesque view of the Caribbean Sea stretching out before you?

Embarking on the Chadar Trek is a dream for many adventure enthusiasts. Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh, this trek is not just a test of endurance but also a journey through the heart of the Zanskar River, which freezes over to form a thick blanket of ice. As you prepare for this extraordinary adventure, having the right gear is crucial. One essential item you must not forget is a high-quality sleeping bag, which will ensure you stay warm during the frigid nights.
The Chadar Trek, often referred to as the "Frozen River Trek," is typically undertaken in January and February when the Zanskar River freezes solid. The name "Chadar" means "blanket," aptly describing the ice sheet that adventurers traverse. The trek spans approximately 105 kilometers over 8-10 days, presenting a mix of thrilling challenges and awe-inspiring scenery.
Preparation and Gear
To successfully complete the Chadar Trek, preparation is key. Given the extreme temperatures, which can plummet to -30 degrees Celsius, having the right gear is vital. Apart from a durable sleeping bag, other essential items include:
Thermal clothing: Layers of thermals are necessary to maintain body heat.
Sturdy trekking boots: Insulated, waterproof boots with a good grip are a must.
Crampons: These are attached to your boots to provide traction on the ice.
Trekking poles: Useful for balance and support on the slippery surface.
High-calorie snacks: Energy bars, nuts, and dried fruits help maintain your energy levels.
The Trek Experience
The journey begins in Leh, where trekkers acclimatize to the high altitude. The actual trek starts from Chilling, a small village, and follows the frozen river towards the Zanskar valley. Each day on the trek offers a unique experience, from walking on the ice to camping in caves and interacting with the local Zanskari people.
The beauty of the Chadar Trek lies in its raw, untouched nature. The shimmering ice, towering cliffs, and tranquil environment provide a surreal backdrop for this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Wildlife enthusiasts might spot ibex, snow leopards, and other Himalayan fauna.
Challenges and Rewards
While the Chadar Trek is undoubtedly demanding, the sense of achievement and the stunning vistas make it worthwhile. The freezing temperatures, long hours of trekking, and sleeping in basic tents or caves test one's resilience. However, the camaraderie among trekkers, the serene beauty of the frozen river, and the starry nights in the Himalayas are unparalleled rewards.

Dreams & Death
Everything in our capitalist hellscape is based on the abject fear, avoidance of and existential dread endlessly cultivated for death.
That plus mindlessness and constantly being distracted by being overworked in our workaholic society where we individually work 400 more hours of OT a year than any other developed economy, endlessly scrolling social media, endlessly binge watching & endlessly streaming shows, endless screens, endless online gaming, endless messaging apps, endless notifications, endless meetings, endless Slacks, endless doordash, endless amazon prime deliveries, endless fast fashion, obsessively watching sports, endlessly watching reality TV & competition shows, endlessly listening to podcasts, endlessly on multiple apps & screens at the same time, endlessly snacking, endlessly consuming caffeine & coffee, endlessly drinking, endlessly shopping at the mall going to the salon going out to eat going to the movies grocery shopping, endless errands.
Endless mindlessness, never having a thought, fear of death, delaying death beyond all reason with extremely harmful invasive dangerous potentially deadly toxic painful excessive draining aging degrading exhaustive depressing and debilitating "treatments" and completely unnecessary interventions instead of...
🦋🌻🦋🌻🦋🌻🦋🌻🦋🌻🦋🌻🦋🌻🦋🌻🦋
🌻Understanding that you die every day. Thats all sleep is. Deep REM (rapid eye movement) sleep is nothing but you shifting your consciousness from "life" aka "reality" -- where I am typing this and you are reading this now -- which is actually nothing but a dream and a fantasy and a simulated virtual reality video game (what we call "the real world").
🦋Actual reality is the dreamscape where we all go every night when we "fall" asleep and dream. You dream every night whether you remember it or not because your dreams are nothing but you visiting the dreamscape every night and going back to where you originally originated from. The dreamscape is where we all originated from prior to our very temporary physical manifestation as human beings in our present "reality".
🌻This so-called "reality" is nothing but a virtual reality simulation of the dreamscape which is just our imaginations and our limitless minds and our thoughts and we all intrinsically know that we can think anything and that there are no limits to our imaginations we even know that as children it is an eternal universal truth because it is where everything originated and originates from.
🦋The dreamscape is an eternal limitless realm where we all originated in an eternity ago and the dreamscape as well as our eternal limitless energetic selves have always existed. What we call reality is really a funhouse mirror virtual reality distortion of actual reality which is the dreamscape.
🌻In our current virtual reality, physical death is permanent and irreversible but it is only a virtual reality simulation of the death we experience every night when our physical human selves temporarily die, we go back to the dreamscape when were "dreaming" and "wake up" back where we originated from.
🦋That is why our dreams tend to be so trippy, surreal, lurid, visceral, kaleidoscopic, explosive colors, not following the rules of our limited 3D virtual reality realm where in our dreams we can literally think and be anything, we can climb walls, we can walk on water, we can fly, we can fall through the sky without dying, we can jump off a building and fly up instead of fall down, we can sink through the floor, we can walk through walls, we can walk into mirrors and through looking glasses, we can eat and devour worlds, we can be in the middle of a black hole sun, we can travel through wormholes, we can create event horizons, we can ride comets and meteors, we can make the stars fall from the sky, its our dreamscape, its our dream its our thoughts its our minds its our imaginations, every thought becomes reality.
🌻Everything exists together all at once because it is ultimate duality and dualism, ultimate yin and yang, every emotion color feeling thought dream expression creation movie film book novel fantasy story vision fever dream acid dreams mindfucks polarity duality comedy horror surrealism abstract art improv theater drama puzzles riddles labryinths mazes infinity loops fire magick star oceans supernovas galaxy expresses speed of light time travel paradoxes pandoras boxes wisdom oracles crystal balls sorcery wizadry black magic santeria divination fortune telling tarot astrology occultism voodoo spells enchantments incantations meditations stargazing shooting stars ✨️☄️🌌
🌻Then you "wake up" and your limitless energetic self that you just temporarily experienced in your dream gets temporarily put to death and you are back to reality oops there goes gravity and you are back to life back to reality in the virtual reality that is just a dream so you think you just woke up but you really just went back to sleep.
🦋Every night, you temporarliy visit the dreamscape for a few hours while your consciousness has shifted from our current virtual reality and brought you back to the dreamscape from which we all originated.
🌻Thats all death is.
🦋All death is, instead of the thousands of temporary visits you have made every night when you shift your consciousness ("entering REM sleep" aka "dreaming") and visit the dreamscape -- instead of these temporary nightly visits, you are now permanently back in the dreamscape where you eternally originated from.
🌻So, what exactly is scary about that?
🦋Why would you avoid or dread that? Why would that depress you?
🌻Why would you ever endure a harmful toxic dangerous aging exhausting depressing dehumanizing degrading painful process like chemo just to delay and not even avoid death since youre going to die of something anyway?
🦋We are all going to die.
🌻We are all here very very temporarily physically manifested as human beings.
🦋75 to 80 years versus an eternity is literally statistically infintisimally insignificant and vanishingly small to the point where it practically doesnt exist.
🌻What is 75/infinity or 80/infinity?
🦋So, why would you ever freak out about your cells breaking down, which is an inevitability, and your body eventually dying and ceasing to physically exist?
🌻Death is literally the most natural thing there is, it is literally the outcome of physical life, so why would you ever bother dreading or avoiding it or comically delaying it?
🦋Chemo at 75 when the average life expectancy in the US is 75 for men and 80 for women?
🌻Are you people really that caught up?
🦋"Longevity is the goal"? For whom and why?
🌻It sounds like a corporate talking point because it is.
🦋Why would that be anyones approach to "end of life" decisions if you receive a "terminal" diagnosis?
🌻The end of your physical human life is truly just the beginning of your limitless eternal life as the energetic ascended awakened actualized being you are.
🦋That should excite you, not terrify you.
🌻Longevity should never be anyones goal in terms of their life. It should be quality.
🦋Nausea, vomiting, hair loss, extreme fatigue, heart, spine, brain and potentially fatal issues for 4 to 8 weeks of chemo, multiple rounds of chemo, multiple hours each session -- is that anyones idea of quality?
🌻It makes them money. Thats it.
🦋Fear of death keeps capitalism churning.
🌻It leads to people constantly distracting themselves with mindless activities like shopping, social media, streaming, messaging apps, online gaming and endlessly numbing themselves with fast food, take out, delivery, alcohol, vaping, tobacco, nicotine, snacks, soda, caffeine, espresso shots, coffee, energy drinks, juice, sugar, opioids, benzodiazepines, antidepressants, fentanyl, cocaine, heroine.
🦋Anything to avoid actually thinking about, contemplating, meditating on, reflecting, introspecting, intuiting about, ruminating, understanding, accepting, embracing, looking forward to and being excited about death whenever and however it comes.
🌻The actual process of death may be challenging and/or painful.
🦋But the end result is a beautiful transformation back to your original limitless energetic self.
🌻Death is just you shedding your temporary physical human caterpillar self and skin and evolving permanently back into the limitless energetic eternal butterfly being you always were before you temporarily manifested as a human being in our virtual reality when your human parents conceived you.
🦋Thats it, nothing more and nothing less.
🌻Capitalism is based and predicated on society acting like this extremely short manifestation as physical human beings is all there is.
🦋If they really believed they were going to heaven, why would they be so afraid of dying and why would they go to such heinous and extreme lengths -- dehumanizing, painful, humiliating, excruciating, agonizing, objectifying, soul crushing, exhausting, inhumane, debilitating, harmful, toxic, invasive, violent, literally poisonous, potentially fatal "interventions and treatments"-- just to delay death since it cant be avoided if they actually really believed that right after dying they would be at the pearly gates with St. Peter & the streets paved with gold?
🌻Capitalism counts on its acolytes and adherents becoming addicted to the rewards they accumulated from "playing the game" and "climbing the corporate ladder" at their "9 to 5s" (that are almost never actually 9 to 5 ofcourse).
🦋Addicted to the clout, money, prestige, net worth, connections, respect, admiration, assets, 401ks, stock options, investment portfolios, mansions, properties, vacation rentals, beach houses, luxury resorts, designer bags and shoes, makeup, expensive perfume, blinged out jewelry, luxury cars, sports cars, five star restaurants and hotels, flexing for the gram, linkedin employment update, big tech, big 4 consulting, finserv, six figure salary, impressive job title, brand name company, executive, large bonuses, promotions, 5/5 on your performance review, success, american life, american dream . . .
🌻Once youre addicted to the above capitalist traps, death scares you because its not like you can take any of that 3D stuff with you.
🦋So, everything youve worked like a slave for in corporate stays here in the virtual simulated reality when you die.
🌻Even if you have kids and they inherit your wealth, you still leave it all behind when you die - the big house, the nice car, the fancy jewelry, the luxury vacations, the fancy impressive job title at the big name company, the people kissing your ass, being a big fucking deal, being the center of attention, being envied, being a diva, having clout, all the zeros in your bank account, all your investments, all your stock options, your 401k account, all the things you slaved your life away for, all the things you endlessly flexed on the gram with, all the things you showed off, all the bling bling, all the impressive accolades and accomplishments, the resume and LinkedIn that speaks for itself. . .
🦋You can take exactly none of that with you.
🌻And thats why, especially in capitalist hellscapes like America, people fear death.
🦋They fear leaving everything they slaved their entire lives away for.
🌻They ask themselves, what did I do it all for?
🦋I cant take my Merril Lynch investment portfolio with me when I die. I cant take my 401k account with me when I die. I cant take my bank accounts with all the zeros with me when I die. I cant take my Lexus BMW and Benz with me when I die. I cant take my Fendi and Birkin and Louboutins with me when I die. I cant take my pink diamonds and iced out wrists and SRTs with me when I die.
🌻So, what did I do it all for?
🦋And, instead of sitting in that discomfort and then questioning our capitalist system that is based off of endless and mindless consumerism, overconsumption, hypercompetition, keeping up with the joneses, materialism, artifice, superficiality, shallowness, status, image, wealth, clout, prestige, net worth, assets, income, what do you do for a living?, job title, company, what kind of car do you drive?, how much money do you make? and realizing that all of that is just fake 3D bullshit and that the real stuff is...
🌻Love, emotion, philosophy, energy, intrigue, wisdom, divination, intuition, magick, creativity, expression, movement, laughter, humor, satire, improv, poetry, dreams, imagination, thoughts, manifestations, downloads, esotericism, fantasy, daydreams, visions, parables, fables, myths, stories, soul connections, karma, reiki, chakras, meditation, art...☄️☄️☄️
🦋Instead of coming to the realization that all you need is love and that our capitalist hellscape relentlessly pushes education, work work work work work, money, success, promotions, rewards, climbing corporate jacob ladders, grabbing the brass ring golden handcuffs, modern day corporate plantations, modern day corporate slave wages, corporate slavery, doing it all for 45 years for a 401k account that crashes the moment you retire from Bank of America after an illustrious worker bee golden handcuffs thousands of hours of unpaid overtime as a glorified middle manager career because Jamie Dimon cashed out before leaving Bank of America as a multi multi millionaire leaving your 401k account that you slaved your entire adult life away for at exactly zero . . .
🌻Work a job any job try for a big name big title six figures 401k stock options especially unrestricted stock if you can swing it then retire at 65 like everyone else then you can do what you want you can garden you can bird watch you can buy a telescope and stargaze you can read you can volunteer you can nap with cats you can start a non-profit you can write a book you can learn to fly a plane and get your pilot license you can open a bakery you can start a business you can be a life coach you can write poetry you can learn to play an instrument you can become a minister you can learn to speak a new language you can teach guide mentor counsel advise coach but only at 65 . . .
🌻But what happens if you die at 64?
🦋You can do this stuff before 65 but only alongside a 9 to 5 because you need security all the 3D three dimenionsal stuff you need health insurance dental medical vision you need life insurance you need to pay the bills pay the telephone bills if you did then maybe we can chill you need a 401k account you need retirement savings benefits you need paid time off sick time "personal" time you need vacation you need short term and long term disability you need money saved away for a rainy day you need to pay the rent every month mortgage every month light bill electricity water bill sewage trash groceries car insurance property tax renters insurance heat cable internet cell phone medication groceries food car payment the "reality" of life why we are all really working and most of us 80% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck are working for exactly two reasons to pay the rent or mortgage and for health insurance we all get sick and we all need to have a roof over our heads . . .
🌻But if you realize death is nothing to fear and that is their biggest and most potent boogeyman that they present as a constant existential threat to your existence and the West, especially America, presents death as something to "fight", "conquer", "stand up to", "defeat", "overcome", "crush" which is pathetically laughable.
🦋Please understand the terminology used by the cancer industry that is used to describe how we should approach the ends of our lives as the Greco-Roman Western empire building colonizing bullshit it is and reject it out of hand.
🌻Theyre going to tell you to "fight" cancer, "fight" through the patently observable and absolutely fucking insane inhumane violent degrading dehumanizing painful excruciating agonizing nauseating debilitating exhausting depressing dangerous toxic harmful and potentially deadly "treatments". . .
🦋Then theyll let you ring a bell for the honor of letting them debase, harm, injure, cut open, literally poison, toxify, slash, burn, torture, immobilize, assault, traumatize and dehumanize you.
🌻Theyll call you a "warrior" just like the Roman gladiators, theyll call you a "fighter", theyll let you wear them assaulting, harming torturing, disfiguring and permanently scarring you as a "badge of honor" because now youre a "survivor". . .
🦋Yet the people that the "treatments" just maim torture harm disfigure poison and kill are quietly swept into chemo triggered vomit-filled body bags in cancer wards and fed into the funeral industrial system.
🌻Business is always booming if you work in the cancer industry.
🦋America consumes 80% more meat than many other countries and our cancer incidence rate is hundreds of times higher than other countries.
🌻Its almost like red meat is a carcinogen and its best to limit it as much as possible.
🦋Its almost like consuming more meat leads to more cancer.
🌻Its almost like eating fresh fruits and vegetables (homemade salads, homemade salad dressings, homemade smoothies, quinoa, tofu scrambles, avocado, rice, noodles, lentils, red black and kidney beans, chickpeas, hummus, steel cut oatmeal with flaxseeds, water, herbal tea, mixed nuts, granola, dairy free yogurt) 80%+ of the time...
🦋Plus avoiding or limiting caffeine, coffee, soda, juice, alcohol, energy drinks...
🌻Avoiding or limiting processed and packaged snacks (oreos, poptarts, pringles, ritz, lays, ruffles, herrs, cheetos, doritos, chips ahoy, etc.)...
🦋Only eating meat on the weekends (about 20% of the time) and eating vegetarian and/or vegan during the week (approximately 80% of the time)...
🌻Would lower your chances of getting cancer.
🦋Nothing else explains why Americans get cancer at such a higher rate vs other countries other than the fact that we consume an exobortiantly higher amount of meat than they do.
🌻America also allows many toxins, synthetic & lab-made chemicals, GMOs & pesticides into almost all of our food, beverages, personal care & hygiene and household cleaning products.
🦋They are literally in almost anything you eat, drink, clean with, or use as personal care.
🌻Europe, and Asia, but especially Europe do not allow most of the toxins and chemicals that the US allows (endless list but BPAs, sugar substitutes, etc etc).
🦋These toxins and chemicals that are literally in our fast food, most restaurant chains, makeup, tampons, pads, lotions, deodorants, shampoos, conditioners, perfume, cologne, body spray, cleaning products, dishwasher and laundry detergent, toothpaste, mouthwash, soap, lotion, beverages, snacks, packaged meats, deli meats, etc have been proven time and time again to cause all sorts of health issues including cancer, reproductive issues, neurological disorders and even death.
🌻Yet companies continue to use them because theyre cheap (toxins & chemicals) so it saves them money and it makes their crops grow faster (GMOs) & saves more of their crops (pesticides).
🦋Inevitable lawsuits occur (Simply Orange, Revlon, its an endless list), multibillion dollar companies pay less than .1% of their yearly profit for people dying from their products.
🌻They pay a miniscule settlement and then everyone moves on until the next lawsuit. Wash rinse repeat. People keep buying and dying from their products.
🦋Its almost like the FDA isnt here to protect the consumer but these multibillion dollar companies.
🌻Europe is much stricter with their regulations. Look at how different McDonalds is in Europe. Seriously, check their menus on TikTok. If youre American, you wont even believe those inventive burgers and desserts are McDonalds.
🦋In the US, a McDonalds burger unrefrigerated bought today in 25 years will have no mold. Theres a video on youtube. That 25 year old McDs burger looked the same. You are ingesting that into your body whenever you "make your McDs run".
🌻I wont lie, as tasty as their fries and nuggets are, it is terrifying what they put into their products as well as the millions of acres of rainforest they have destroyed to raise the cattle for their Big Macs.
🦋Deforestation for a $.99 burger. Thats a happy meal.
🌻This is why the cancer rates are so much higher in the US vs the rest of the world.
🦋And this is why the cancer industry is so disgustingly aggressive in this country.
🌻Cancer is a trillion dollar industry and business is always booming.
🦋Instead of agreeing to be slashed, cut open, permanently scarred and disfigured, assaulted, violated, traumatized, dehumanized, poisoned, burned, radiated, exhausted, fatigued, nauseated, loss of hair, aging 17 years (chemo ages you 17 years per the American Cancer Society), physically weakened, loss of appetite, numb, changes in appearance, brain spine heart issues, possibly fatal. . .
🌻Just do the stuff I listed above. Avoid or limit carcinogens, toxins and synthetic and lab-made chemicals.
🦋Also, go outside in nature every day weather permitting for half an hour to an hour. Nothing will heal you more than nature because we are nature and thats why capitalism works so hard to sever our natural connection with nature.
🌻Youre going to die of something so if you do the above and get cancer anyway then understand that its just your cells breaking down and the natural process of your body dying.
🦋It was inevitable anyway so no big deal.
🌻Instead of fighting, delaying, denying, avoiding, fearing, extending beyond all common sense, just accept it and make yourself as comfortable as possible.
🦋CBD oil, weed, edibles, psychedelics, DMT, ayuahasca, sweat ceremonies, meditate on a beach, yoga, stretching, draw, paint, pottery, hula hoop, blow bubbles, poetry, dance, sing, read, go in a stream or lake, crystals, gardens, parks, walk, listen to mhz audio, sound bath healing, deep floating, reiki, essential oil, diffuser, incense, indigenous healing practices, natural remedies, witch doctors, hug trees, dress up, put makeup on, go on solo dates, listen to music, write a book, write your life story, go on do not disturb for 3 to 6+ months, find yourself, go on a solo trip, go on a sabbatical, temporarily move to central and/or south america, africa and/or southeast asia, solve puzzles, no electronics for 30 days, unplug for a month, do nothing but meditate for a week, go on a cross country road trip and adventure, walk 500 miles, hitchhike, create a life list not a bucket list and live your life do all the things you would do if you only had a month to do and do all of them regardless of how long you actually have left . . .
🦋Thats all life is. A rollercoaster. Enjoy the ride while it lasts for however long it lasts.
🌻Just like you wouldnt "try to make the rollercoaster ride last as long as possible", you would just line up and jump on, thats all life is.
🦋Jump on for the ride. Self-actualize. Experience and cause your own ego death. Ascend. Awaken. Activate and align all seven chakras. Open your third eye. Experience your kundalini awakening.
🌻Your ego death prepares you for your eternal life once you leave your physical human body and return permanently to the dreamscape as the limitless energetic eternal being you are.
🦋No need to fear. No need to delay, deny, dread, drag out, avoid, fight, struggle, conquer, overcome or vanquish.
🌻Meditate, reflect, introspect, intuit, ruminate, think, understand, accept, embrace, look forward to and be excited about your own death!
🦋🦋🦋Its nothing but a beautiful transformation🦋🦋🦋

Part III: This Ain't for Me
Shockingly enough, the next morning came (at 7am with a knock to take vitals while half asleep at edge of bed), and I still wasn't "cured." Breakfast was French toast and powder eggs with decaf coffee and a side of meds. As I looked around at the other patients on the unit, most were much like myself: quiet, reserved, low energy. I don't like to say they seemed "normal" because that is an old stigma attached to mental health, but I will say there weren't many behaviors displayed except for a couple of instances. One rather tall gentleman kept jumping around, hogging the phone (probably with fake calls), and repeatedly asking everyone their names because he couldn't remember. Another patient seemed to move in slow motion and spoke inaudibly. Another paced the floor and talked to himself much of the time, as one might expect to see in a setting like this.
At 10am, it was group time! Group runs from 10-12 and then again from 1-3. "Group" in this case was not quite what I thought it would be. Patients from both units (some still opted not to go) met in a small room with two recumbent bikes, an elliptical, a treadmill, and a radio. There was also a table with playing cards and Guess Who, in case you didn't get enough of playing with yourself and board games. During this light exercise time, a member of the psych team would pull you for a one-on-one interview. Keep in mind, this has been over 24 hours since I checked into the ER, and finally getting the first opportunity to speak to someone with any authority to do anything. I spoke with the psych doc for probably 15-20 minutes while he took notes, and he was very friendly but didn't offer much insight. I then met briefly (less than 5 minutes) with the psych team, including some students and the attending physician, but this was just to reiterate what I said earlier in the one-on-one. They did say they would consider my discharge request but that legally they could still hold me for up to 72 hours after I signed the request. They also had me transferred to the front unit, which was smaller and quieter, since I don't do well with noise and had traumatic experiences in dorm living. After the interview, I had a few minutes sitting idly and zoning out. A patient at the adjacent table asked what I was staring at and yelled at me to stop. Naturally, I fired back with a, "I wasn't staring, and while we're on the topic, WTF are you staring at me for?!" This accomplished my mission of getting this person to get up and leave.
My wife came to visit me at lunchtime. I was the only one who had a visitor during my stay, and that made me even sadder. My kids were too young to be allowed to visit, and they were at school anyway. It was a surreal experience to have my wife visit and see me in this jumpsuit and in this atmosphere. She was highly supportive, but I felt deep embarrassment and shame. Still, I was happy to see a glimpse of my outside life. My wife already knew that this place was only making me worse. After lunch, which was by far the quickest hour of the day, my wife had to leave because it was time for group again! This time, they put us in teams and had us play a round of Scattergories as well as a rousing round of Jeopardy with a theme of OTC meds and remedies. If you're reading this and wondering how this was supposed to improve my mood and SI, I am still wondering as well. After that was mercifully over, we had idle time again all the way until bedtime, with the exception of dinner. We mostly sat around the dayroom area watching tv, with the highlight being when Mean Girls came on! I felt very aware of a sublime feeling in that moment of realization that I am trapped in a psych ward and watching Mean Girls. All I could do was laugh to myself. 8pm was snack time, and I got to get TWO snacks! So I chose a vanilla ice cream cup and a pouch of cinnamon golden grahams so that I could complete the nostalgic feeling of being completely controlled in my childhood. I did lose a few pounds over these few days, but I managed to gain it all back quickly when I could binge again. Anyway, my nighttime meds came on time this night, at 9pm, and I was able to go to bed from there. No reason to keep staying up. Trazodone did help me get to sleep, but my door kept opening and shutting all night. I'm pretty sure I was on 15 minute checks, even though that didn't happen the night before.
Next post will be Part IV and likely the conclusion of this story. Hopefully you've enjoyed it so far. If you have, please tip your blogger accordingly! I learned growing up that money and gifts were the way to express love, so shower your love and other bodily fluids all over me!! And while you're filling me up with your love, friend me on Switch! My friend code is on my profile page, or use the QR code in my pic. I am lonely and need more of you in my life! I'll be online either playing Shredder's Revenge or Cowabunga Collection and looking to go online! I've been on a real TMNT kick lately, and by "lately," I mean the last 30 years. The feeling of taking out my anger and frustration on a bunch of Foot soldiers just doesn't get old! Of course, that will get put away for a while come midnight Friday! I want to thank my sugar daddy/mama, who wants to remain anonymous, for their generous donation so I could afford to purchase Super Mario Bros. Wonder! I will see you online!
