I've been absent because I've been binging DAV; enjoying the game a lot, but I gotta agree with all my discussions I've had with friends: they really sanded down any of the edge/darkness DA had, and I think that's a mistake and a loss, tbh. Still a good game and I'm having fun, but there's a lot of wasted potential.

Also they keep retconning/ignoring parts of lore/world building (esp the darker aspects) from older games and it annoys me, but whatever

Literally where was the fancy masquerade ball wyllstarion quest line in bg3???

The party has to infiltrate a fancy ball for plot reasons and Wyll and Astarion are the only two in the group with any relevant high society experience and therefore have the lowest chance of getting found out and caught.

They show up as a couple dressed incredibly glamorously and Astarion manages to pick pocket everyone in the room while being stared at the whole night because wow he and Wyll really do look Good together. Astarion isn’t the best dancer but Wyll expertly leads him through a few waltzes.

Astarion is dressed too slinky to hide the loot on himself so he slips it all into Wyll’s jacket under the guise of cuddling up close to him as they dance. Wyll minds this a lot less than he anticipated.

Finally the event ends and they make it out unscathed and the rest of the group meets up with them in a nearby alley. They walk up to Astarion with his hands up Wyll’s shirt and they’re all like OHHHHH??? 👀 and Astarion pulls out all the jewlery he nabbed like relax you heathens.

It’s one of their most successful heists. As they’re heading back to camp, Astarion kisses Wyll very sweetly as thanks for a fun night out 🩸🗡️

gwyn's four knights are cops and bootlickers and scared of change, they have so much power in and of themselves and choose to devote it to the Age of Fire and toward the subjugation of humanity even after Gwyn sacrifices himself and the curse runs rampant. but then, only Ornstein actually lives long enough for the reality to truly settle in. as for whether he goes in search of Gwyn's Firstborn to convince him to return, or merely to have someone to serve, or for a third reason, he lives a truly long time, and I think he comes to lives in penance for the state of the world that he contributed to, and for the lives he and his dear friends might have lived in a different world, in a different time
