Shoutout to Lily saying " I broke YouTube's TOS and risked exposing potentially hundreds of people in the vulnerable age bracket and making them incredibly uncomfortable for shits and giggles"

What a fucking moron.

So I got an email from Pinterest notifying me that one of the pins I’d saved got deleted for violating Community Guidelines, or whatever, which I was going to ignore bc I usually don’t think it’s worth my time, but then I read what the violations were:
Tumblr media
And I’m like… that’s weird. I don’t save any pins or even consume content that has anything sexual in it- I’m just not interested in that stuff, and it sometimes makes me uncomfortable, so I just try to avoid it (sometimes it will be hinted or reference, but it’s never anything explicit, and definitely never graphic).
So I’m wondering- what thing did they either accidentally flag or did I accidentally save that had anything sexual or fetish related?
The picture in question?
Tumblr media
What. Even.
I don’t even know what the most baffling part of this is. Like, for one, these are literally screenshots from a kids show- the most “indecent” thing in here is Chat Noir being on top of Ladybug (which isn’t, and just mildly suggestive at best), but you can’t even see that in this image, just Chat’s huge smile [bottom left].
Is it the tongue pictures?? Do the Pinterest overlord bots think anything with tongue showing outside the mouth is implying a hot make out or oral? Are tongues indecent now?
Is it Chat Noir’s leather outfit? The cat ears and bell? The list did include fetishes, and we all know furies and BDSM exist, and plenty of people make jokes or legit posts putting Chat into both or either category(ies).
Is it the ones with their butts in the air?? [top two images] Do they think this is a sex position? Ready for the dirty? This stupid pose is a decently common gag in cartoons to make the character look ridiculous. I’ve only seen it sexualized in fan works and in anime/manga (which has its own reputation..)
I’m genuinely at a loss here. If any of the pics in the collage were interpreted as sexual, I’d lean towards the top row set, I pointed out the tongue one more as an exaggeration, and kind of on the cat costume, but like.. everything I can think of just seems like a huge stretch. I’m genuinely baffled. Especially since, like I already said- they are taken directly from a show made for literal children. How can anything from that get flagged as explicitly sexual??
It’s not worth it to appeal for, I really don’t care about losing a Pin I barely remember saving in the first place. I’m just so confused on how their flagging system caught this as “adult content.” I’m genuinely wondering on a technical level what it saw (beyond “bots are just bad at recognition), because it obviously saw something wrong, so what was it?? What was considered sexual in these pictures??

Why does TikTok censor the word GAY in comments as if it’s a discriminatory term?!?!? My comment got automatically deleted for “violating community guidelines” bc I wrote the word GAY 🥴

Community Guidelines
Hi all, I realized I never put together a set of community expectations for this event and blog.
They said it best first - "Be excellent to each other." Let's have a focus on kindness and encouragement. You don't have to interact with anyone you don't want to. And no discriminatory behavior (racist, transphobic, etc) is acceptable in this event. Each event will also have its own requirements for participation.
Please reach out to me if you have any concerns or questions about these guidelines. Happy partying everyone!

Don't be sad.
Sadness violates community guidelines.
Searching for sad art on Pinterest, Instagram and social media in general does end in a warning and question if you're depressed and content is widely blocked.
Isn't that perverted clickbaity algorithm curated violation hate speech racism sexism $hit on social media better suited to destroy a human soul than a drawing of a crying girl?
They don't want you to think. To rest, reflect or just see some reality. Some of it is sad sadly. They want to create a perfectionism prison for you so you can always be happy by seeing all the better lives and lies and all the stuff you can buy to get there.. just click here!
Painfully failed, social media.
You produce sadness and depression.
I fight it.
You shouldn't censor and hide it.

there is something incredibly fucked up about tumblr's "reporting hateful content" system requiring you to provide one specific post to even submit a report. there are so many sideblogs and burner accounts dedicated to spreading hate in ways that are not immediately traceable back to one post in particular, because they know that makes them easier to ban. they will not write one specific convenient post laying out their belief system, but any reasonably intelligent employee could look at the kind of content they comment on and like and figure out that they viloate the community guidelines' stated policies. Tumblr's Community Guidelines say, quote: " Don't post content for the purpose of promoting or inciting the hatred of, or dehumanizing, individuals or groups based on race, ethnic or national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or disease. If you encounter content that violates our hate speech policies, please report it." notice that it only says "post". they do not account for spreading such posts, liking them, or commenting things under other people's posts that would violate this rule if it were a post instead of a comment.
if tumblr really wanted to eliminate obvious transphobia, racism, ableism etc, they could. they were pretty good at removing explicit sexual content once management decreed to do so.

I don't remember having to do this more than once. And I thought my agreement going forward was implied the first time I agreed to use this service?
Also, if these updates are so important, then why not just list the summary in the pop-up so I don't have to go web-surfing for answers?
Tumblr media
... oh! Because the "summary" page is absolutely rubbish. I see.
Man, to think I used to trust this company. "Skype-killer", indeed.

Quick question for you guys. I have some pics modeling a plus size top & briefs for fashion reasons, should I post them to @hazeltailofficial & if so, am I supposed to label them mature? They aren't meant to be sexual or pornographic.
