ok I know these posts are like bait but my neurodivergent ass really needs some motivation on this one

I’m currently closeted as nonbinaryand im like sick of it but im really scared to come out

50 notes and I’ll come out to my trans friend

200 notes and I’ll come out to my whole (lgbtq) friend group

500 notes and I’ll come out to my friends who aren’t queer

750 notes and I’ll start using my real name and pronouns at school next year

3000 notes and I’ll come out to my parents who I’m like 75% sure support trans people

5000 notes and I’ll come out to my extended family

10000 notes and I’ll come out to my racist, homophobic, transphobic grandparents who live in Indiana(no hate against Indiana I just felt the need to specify)

Edit: I came out to my trans friend!! He took it really well and sent me a screen recording of him changing my contact name in his phone:)

Please be kinder to yourself with your self ships and self inserts. Please know that your creations of either drawings, writings or anything in between is precious. I know it can be scary to share and post sometimes. I know the fear of others finding your work cringy can be daunting. But what you create is beautiful. The fact alone that you see these fictional characters and want to be apart of their stories and share your love for them is a wonderful thing. No matter if it for fun or coping, your self ships are special. Your self inserts are a form of self love, embrace that feeling of being gentle with yourself when it comes to it. You don’t owe anyone a reason to why these characters are special to you, only that they bring you joy and comfort.

I'm too tired and too sick rn to articulate this properly but I wish people put more thought into the way Signalis approaches communism and communist imagery and how it has a lot more to do with the spectre of memory and fear as it exists in the specific experiences of people who grew up in the ruins of the DDR than it does the vulgar anticommunism/red scare imagery that american players project onto it. Perhaps this is my own projection but the contrast between what to me is a clear degree of reverence and even Ostalgie next to ever present decay and degradation of those same images and concepts reads far more as bitterness and even betrayal than just "communism bad." The game has far more on it's mind regarding how the past bleeds through into the present and within that framing evoking the DDR is hauntological, not moralistic and certainly not triumphalist.

I saw on your previous poll you had down Headcannons for Pinhead, can I pretty please get some fluffy writing for the Cenobites 🥺

Of course, I've kind of been itching to write for them lol

Pinhead and Cenobites x Reader

•Despite everything all the Cenobites are incredibly sweet and kind

•When you reach the point of having a relationship with them They treat you with the atmos respect

•The weather that relationship is a Friendship, romantic, sexual, or platonic

•Pinhead of course likes taking charge. He's calmly authoritative, but very gentle

•D.T has a cold and mysterious outer shell but when she lets you in she's a deeply sensitive person

•Chatter is over all a very laid-back guy, he can get pretty aggressive but only when It comes to his job

•Butterball honestly just kind of waddles around and smacks his lips.

•They're all pretty decent cuddlers, but they all have some faults

•Pinhead is a great cuddler but only sitting up….. He can't really lay down….

•D.T is great if you wanna lay on someone's stomach, can't really get close to her head either.

•Chatter can cuddle in any position, be prepared to have the breath squeezed out of you, He's an aggressive guy

•Butterball is where things get a little complicated. You can't really lay on him, Well he doesn't mind the pain, you might mind the blood all over you…. And the exposed hooks…

•Butterball is good at side cuddles though!

•Pinhead likes to ask you moral/ethical questions (Like the trolley problem,or kidney problem). He's the kind of guy to take the buzzfeed quizzes for fun

•D.T’s guilty pleasure is reality TV, She cannot get enough!

•Chatter and Butterball like it when you read to them

•They don't let you touch the lament configuration without them present

•They do their best to get the leviathans approval of you

•They let you take your time turning into a Cenobite.

•They want to turn you so they can be with you for eternity, but they also want to let you live your best life.

•If you happen to Like ASMR Chatter has no problem being next to your ears and chattering into them

•Pinhead will never let you waste money getting a Piercing, He's a very experience piercer and doesn't like the idea of somebody else touching you like that

•If you have any Tattoos they will spend hours examining them. They want to hear any and all meaning behind it. Stories on why you got it, how, and who did it.

•Butterball like to lick any and all wounds you get

•D.T likes brain teasers and especially likes to do trivia with you

•fiercely protective of you

•They like taking you into hell and showing you around

•If you're okay with watching live torture, They will 10,000% stop into random rooms, Let you know they're backstories, And why the punishment fits the crime

Is there a good post outlining all the evidence against Gaiman? I know the podcast has it and that's what people pointed to me, but considering it has been days I was wondering if someone had gathered it all into seperate post so one does not have to listen to someone advertising their work every few minutes in order to listen to the important parts.

Belatedly (given that at least three other women have accused him since my post), there are some. The best of the original ones is probably "Manufacturing Consent" by Annabel Ross, but there are also transcriptions of the original accusations that, iirc, weed out some of the editorializing and focus on the raw material (which is, just be warned, very raw).

This (long) thread provides the important links in terms of the accusations conveyed by Tortoise, I think (a more to-the-point list is here at muccamukk's Dreamwidth account). I included the long thread because I'm in strong agreement with the final person in the chain that, Tortoise's many failings notwithstanding, they provided enough evidence for the SF/F community to judge and respond more appropriately than with a collective blanket of silence punctuated by occasional cavalier or desperate dismissals of the accusers, before the other accusations broke.

In all honesty, I'm pretty appalled by the idea that, well, now there's enough to start talking about it with a modicum of decency and respect but wasn't before, because apparently it was okay to use trans people (who had nothing to do with any of this) to justify defending a cis guy beloved of fandom from very thorough rape accusations.

I particularly feel this way about the parts of the community dedicated to publicizing news and major ongoing discussions that simply said and did nothing. Scalzi's "I'm horrified, might take awhile to process, here's a link to RAINN" personal statement was fine (Vernon's wasn't), and I don't think every random author was obligated to make their own statement as such. But spaces that exist specifically for covering ongoing discussions and news in the SF/F community not saying anything at all—even that the allegations existed—was far worse and really disheartening. So I wanted to link to a discussion that acknowledges how very few people lived up to their stated principles when there was solid evidence against an influential, popular man in their own circles who knows the right catchphrases and terminology.

I was particularly unimpressed with Mike Glyer's handling of discussion at File 770 and, as far as I could tell, Tor only acknowledging the whole thing on their German-language site. The German article seems to be very good, but ... they're based in NYC and Gaiman is an English-language writer, why was their only commentary for weeks shunted away from the English site? US law should absolutely cover acknowledging the existence of the accusations.

There was, let's say, a lot of disappointment to go around, so I'm also grateful for the other women who kept the ball rolling, awful as it is that they a) had similar experiences and b) had to reveal those to get the whole thing taken seriously.

This is to say, "I do not dream of labour" is a catchy but questionable slogan. Labour isn't the enemy. Labour is part of being human. It's the alienation you experience under capitalism - being coerced into selling your labour to survive, until the hours you spend at your job feel like a separate thing to your real life and real self - that is the enemy.

dont think this post is worded great, im pretty tired but i wanted to get my thoughts out here anyway

okay here i go:

i think in a lot of cases where folk think therians and alterhumans are faking or not being 100% genuine about their experiences or linking things that are unrelated together, they generalise quite a lot and don't take things like instincts and even just psychological therians/alterhumans into consideration

lets take the example of (were)wolves and 'edgy' aesthetics, those things may not be directly correlated, but if a big reason for you being kin of a were(wolf) is that you used it as a survival/coping mechanism, you may also relate to 'edgy' aesthetics, or more specifically, feel like it fits your were(wolf) instincts because of a strong drive to bite, attack and defend etc

so many times i see folk saying "but that's unrelated" and like, yes, sort of, but its not up to you whether folk enjoy those themes and relate them to their kintypes

i really wish folk in this community (especially younger therians/alterhumans) would realise and keep in mind the effect imprinting, neurodivergence, and other psychological causes has on the community

not everyone has a past life, or memories, and sometimes folk will use arbitrary things to relate to their kintypes

that doesn't make their experience less real, it doesn't make them less of a therian or alterhuman, it just is.

ATTENTION ALL OF FURBLR

Hi. So can we agree that @furbyutopia 's idea was pretty dope an it brought us all together? Can we also agree with @furbymother that we should do more things like that in the future? If you said yes I have an idea for you!

A week of Humanized furby's! (humanoid furby's?) Where you either draw, use picrew, etc to turn your furby into a humanoid (or anthro) version of themselves! Elf, orc, mermaid, cat, ANYTHING GOES just as long as you're happy with it. It'd include your art/picrew along with a physical pic of your furby. You can add anything else like backstory, history and relationships in the post too^^ really share your love for your little guys!
