currently losing my mind over the idea of Aziraphale writing Crowley's name in the Book of Life. and specifically Crowley. it matters that it doesn't matter what his ~~~real~~~ name was

Some of my writer’s block cures:

Handwrite. (If you already are, write in a different coloured pen.)

Write outside or at a different location.

Read.

Look up some writing prompts.

Take a break. Do something different. Comeback to it later.

Write something else. (A different WIP, a poem, a quick short story, etc.)

Find inspiring writing music playlists on YouTube. (Themed music, POV playlists, ambient music, etc.)

Do some character or story prompts/questions to get a better idea of who or what you’re writing.

Word sprints. Set a timer and write as much as you can. Not a lot of time to overthink things.

Set your own goals and deadlines.

Write another scene from your WIP. (You don’t have to write in order.) Write a scene you want to write, or the ending. (You can change it or scrap it if it doesn’t fit into your story later.)

Write a scene for your WIP that you will never post/add to your story. A prologue, a different P.O.V., how your characters would react in a situation that’s not in your story, a flashback, etc.

Write down a bunch of ideas. Things that could happen, thing that will never happen, good things, bad things.

Change the weather (in the story of course.)

Feel free to add your own.

Listen idk if it’s because I’m really emotional right now, but can we take a moment to appreciate Echo? I love that man so much he is so dear to me. Despite everything he’s been through, he’s still so genuinely kind and good, but is still the same badass we all know him as. He has so much fight in him, but can also admit when he’s wrong and apologize and move forward with a desire to do better. He’s hilarious but can also be so serious. He’s lost so much and so many people. He allows himself to feel his grief. He’s so loyal. He has strong convictions but isn’t afraid to be challenged and questioned. He’s a tough as nails, badass ARC trooper who can be so gentle and caring with kids, especially with Omega, but also encourages her chaotic streak. Just…Echo man.

Ugh- new brainrot just dropped. I am dying for a shrinking story with some sort of established relationship (be it friendship, pining, or lovers) but just a long established relationship. So when one of them shrinks, the other takes zero care to not be scary, cause why would their friend ever be scared of them?? And to an extent, maybe they aren't. They're not scared of them, but they're scared of the magnification of their traits. The way they've always hugged so tightly, the way they always break their phone, the way they like to push and roughhouse and tease. Their friend has always felt big- but this is so much more.

Their friend doesn't handle the sudden shrinking with care. Perhaps they laugh, or immediately crack a joke. They've always been touchy, but this?? This is overwhelming to an incomprehensible degree.

They push at incoming fingers, nervously trying to keep calm. To hang into some shred of normalcy. Yet, as they're scooped of the ground, that shaky facade crumbles in an instant.

They're begging, pleading. Perhaps even inconsolable. Their friend stares down at their hands, stunned.

"H-hey" their voice is nervous "it's me-"

"That's exactly the problem!"

"W-what?"

They go off. They tell them they're loud, or clumsy, or rough and how they're too much.

Their friend is pale, staring down at the shaking figure with sad eyes.

"You know I'd never hurt you..." but even as they say that, there's doubt on their face- thinking back to all the times they've tackled their friend, or dragged them about, or...

"You're scared of me?" They sound like they're about to cry. They've always been a lot- but their friend was someone that got them- that could handle them...

...but they didn't get them, did they? They'd been putting up with them.

They'd been tolerated.

They've never been soft- never quiet or doting... that's not who they were... but they were still good, right? Still kind? They could be gentle...

The tiny stares up, guilt and shame constricting their chest as they see the hurt plastered all over their friends face. This was painfully humiliating. Their own pitiful ego at fault- Why were they such a coward??

UGH?? LIKE DO YOU GUYS GET IT??? The angst if having to tell someone that you don't trust them at their most vulnerable because they don't act with vulnerability normally? They are kind and fun, but they never really give you proof of that nuturing safety??? And to be told that the person you cherish most is afraid of you?? Not because they're small- no, it's because it's YOU who'd big??

hii. your uncaring or cold f/o does in fact care quite a lot. especially in moments of weakness.

yes they care whenever you feel tired, burnt out and maybe they won't say anything. maybe it comes off like they don't care, but that would be ignoring how they find themselves taking up whatever work there might've been to do so you can rest a while longer without complaint. any 'oh you don't have to-'s get brushed off with a little 'go lay back down' or something similar. the shortness isn't because they're irritated, no, it's just because it's a little silly to them- yes, obviously they don't have to, but they're going to because they love you. maybe that's a little too sappy for them to voice, maybe they do reveal that, either way they'll find their way back to you whenever everything's set away and done. whether they're laying down with you or just sitting nearby and working on their own thing, they keep themself within arm's reach should you need anything.

yes they care whenever you're feeling sick or riding out any nasty symptoms. they'll go make any trips out for things you want or need without question, maybe making a quick promise that they'll be right back. maybe it's a little silly to think you're going to keel over in the handful of minutes they're at the store for, but they just don't want you to feel like you're suffering alone. they might not be feeling out whatever it is you are, but they still want to keep you company through it. maybe they hover just a little, if only just to monitor your symptoms, but rest assured they really don't mind doing whatever it is that makes you feel better. if you want a specific food or drink they'll be running through the rain if they have to to get it to you. if you wanna shower or take a bath but don't have the energy to set it all up or to really take care of yourself they're meticulous with it, setting out whatever they can remember you liking and what might help you feel better and keeping any touches gentle and delicate. if you just wanna lay down and have them nearby, they're happy to just stick around, so long as you can spare them the glances they're sneaking at you every now and then while you rest, relishing in the comfort and safety of the moment.

Metal Sonic being voiceless and that being played for the horror, but less in the way of "he doesn't physically have a voice box" and more in the sense that he's voiceless metaphorically.

Not only does he not possess the voice box, but he doesn't have any tools to communicate. He's never offered pen and paper. Never given the opportunity to write digital reports except with only the briefest of words. Never taught even a scrap of sign language, as crude as such a communication would be due to his lack of facial features.

If you handed him a speech generating device, would he even know what to do with it?

I think about epidemiology often. When the military arrives at the end of the episode, are they still zombies? They say the cold will break the fever but does it cure them or did it just prevent brain damage and, later, death? Did the government cure them when they arrived? Or were they already cured and they just took their memories? If Troy hadn’t reached the thermostat, would the government just have been there to clean up the dead bodies? Or would they have cured those that survived? What is the taco meat that the dean fed everyone? Obviously it wasn’t actually taco meat, so was it the decomposed remains of other zombies? Why would they have that in an army surplus store?? At the end of the episode they say that this (presumably everyone infected but in an enclosed quarantine) is scenario B. What’s scenario A? What would they do if the zombies were roaming the streets? These are the kinds of important questions we need to ask ourselves

Does anyone else find it sort of upsetting how widely popular House M.D. has seemingly become in online queer spaces with how violently acephobic and intersexist it is? Like, I don’t want to pretend that it’s only queerphobic towards aces and intersex people, because the show definitely engages in its fair share of early-2000s-typical casual transphobic and homophobic language, and I do think it’s pretty biphobic that, from what I remember of the show, they made 13 (the one canonically bisexual character) a promiscuous party girl tm.

But the show is extremely vitriolic towards intersex and asexual people, and I wish that the people who treat it like a haha funny toxic yaoi show would at least fucking acknowledge that. The show actively reinforces the ideas about intersex bodies which are used to justify the nonconsensual mutilation of intersex children. And the way the show treats asexuality is abysmal. I saw someone on here once say that it’s “funny” that House is canonically aphobic, as if it’s just a joke that the House episode about asexuality actively supports the idea that asexuals are all either liars or medically unwell and in need of “fixing”. Why is pro-conversion therapy rhetoric suddenly funny when it’s directed towards us?

I’m not saying that no one is allowed to enjoy the show at all. Hell, I used to really enjoy it too, at least before I got to the asexuality episode (shortly after finding out I’m ace and before I had ever seen even a single other representation of asexuality in mainstream media). But like. Can people at least stop outright ignoring the absolutely detrimental effects this show had on the ace community and the intersex community?
