The Professor's reappearance is made public
Tumblr media
Did my own version of how Alfendi would learn that his father returned: Explained under the cut
Basically Barton got called by Hershel personally since he couldn't reach Alfendi at the time to check up on him since it had been 11 years
This is where it goes into where Alfendi and Lucy appear in Katrielle's Anime visiting the Detective agency since him reappearing has not been made public yet, Lucy persuaded him to go and talk to Hershel.
Hershel did not want the public flocking to him before he got to speak and spend time with his own children (Flora included)
After he had spoken to all three he was fine with the press knowing unbeknownst to him the press would begin to bug his kids minus Flora she left London shortly after speaking with Professor Layton.
Katrielle was more than happy to speak to the press, Alfendi on the other hand hates the press and is warned by one of the officers that they crowded the front of Scotland Yard and that they might want to use a back exit to leave.
The reason they are dressed up is because they just went out to eat to celebrate Justin's arrest and final court session.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk

This is probably a stupid question but is the Commissioner from LBMR actually confirmed to be Barton?
Does he ever get referred to as Barton? Or is it just implied due to his similar appearance and appetite?

semi-formal intro to my(?) new au: the Reinhold Mystery Journey AU!!
based directly from @dearesthershel's (not so glowing) video essay on LMJ, i wanted to really take the idea and try and run with it!! details under cut~
RMJ officially takes place 16 years after the events of Unwound/Lost Future, Flora Layton Reinhold is a relatively well-known detective making rounds as following in her guardian's footsteps as a brilliant mystery solver. A now 32 year old Flora (formally known as Detective Layton by her peers, Flory by her 14 year-old sister Katrielle), having opened her office a year after UF/LF, is being given her assignments by the Chief Constable and soon-to-be Commissioner of the Yard, Barton.
Joining her is her assistant and now world-renowned journalist, Emmy Altava! Now 43, she's mellowed out quite a bit since the Azran Legacy (though she still hits and hits HARD). Summoned to Flora's side by an unknown individual, she vows to help the good detective however she can, either intellectually... or percussively.
Together, they're thrown into a myriad of cases dredging up places and faces both old and new, as each mystery resolved leads them ever closer to the cold case of the mysterious disappearances of the Professor and his blue-clad assistant years ago...
.......at least that's the idea i have in mind anyway. i'm not the most skilled writer lmao

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS EPISODE OF MONDAY NIGHT FRESH
Tumblr media
THE HAWKEYES VS. THE CORPORATION
Following Kate Bishop’s victory over Until Dawn’s Emily Davis, Clint Barton asked the unnamed commissioner if they can put Kate’s name on the list of contenders for the Women’s World Championship. Although the commissioner told Clint at the time that they’ll consider it, it’s now been confirmed that the #1 contender will be Seras Victoria (Hellsing).
Frustrated by this, Clint Barton, while speaking to the ABW crowd, called out the unnamed commissioner for making Seras the #1 contender without having her earning the spot. This led to a representative of the ABW corporation entering the ring to confront Clint directly.
Angered by Clint’s remarks, the ABW representative says that Clint has been fired by the commissioner. Before Clint leaves the ring, he makes sure to give the ABW corporate representative a Hawkeye Stunner.
Kate then left the arena with Clint, angry at what has transpired.

“   no more games, mathis. i know you're after gordon's disappearance, and i won't ask twice. where is he?  ”
asking him where gordon is was batman's first mistake, barton thought, with their history. a much better question to ask would be if he's still alive. gotham's very own police commissioner was nearly responsible for ruining his life as a child, in fact — and yet gordon was widely viewed as some kind of paragon of virtue. what a joke that was, as the cities crime rate remained on a steady upward incline after his instatement. though the crime rate rising was actually to barton's benefit so no one will see him complaining.
it was just a simple truth that only the most depraved people in gotham would purchase anything from the dollmaker, after all... at least in his own opinion. but in any case, if looks could kill, batman would most definitely be dead where he stood. barton was currently directing a death glare at the other while he rose a gloved hand up to his bloodied nose; quickly swiping away the crimson liquid. one punch for the batman, zero for the dollmaker. an incredulous scoff left barton's mouth as he flicked the blood at the ground to get it off his glove.
❝ mm, you really like the commissioner, don't you? its almost like he's your best friend or something. ❞ a mocking laugh filled the room then as he knew full well that the two were close. it was too bad that barton had been waiting for this opportunity to kill jim gordon for years since his first attempt and because of that, he wouldn't be giving up his location. ❝ you know... the funny thing is, it doesn't matter where he is at this point, batman. gordon is a dead man. i made sure of that when i told my daughter to remove something from his body that he can't live without. ❞
barton rose the muzzle of his gun up to the other's chin and held it there, a finger just begging to press the trigger of the gun. ❝ so, it's exactly like the saying goes, an 'eye for an eye.' what he did to my father wasn't justice, and you aren't even close to it, either. this is. ❞ the sound of a bullet being fired wrung throughout the air like the toll of a bell: warning whoever might've been in its line of sight that they could be facing death.

She smiled. “Thanks. I’ll do my best.” Natasha was capable, but she was also human. Although she had completed many missions before, there was no guarantee that this one would end the same. She wasn’t cocky enough in that regard. If anything, it made her appreciate everything more.
Even just sitting there, enjoying the fresh air and the sunshine, was enough to make her happy. It wasn’t like she had a family to go back to, like Clint, and frankly, she didn’t think she’d enjoy domestic life very much. The times she spent with the Barton family further confirmed that: nothing against them, but the daily grind was boring. Or it could be because she was so used to the action – and even the sound of gunfire – that the constant silence apart from kids screaming and the TV blaring on in the background was unsettling.
“It’s more a part of who I am. I can imagine it can get tiring at some point, but it’s all I’ve ever known since I was young. It’s hard to miss what I’ve never experienced.” Another smile, and she leaned back, her head tilted back a little as she briefly closed her eyes. “What about you? Have you ever considered being someone other than a police commissioner? Or is it something you’ve always wanted to do?”
Jim chuckled softly, though there was a hint of concern in his eyes as Natasha mentioned her upcoming mission. "Undercover for Stark, huh? Sounds like another day at the office for you." He admired her ability to slip into different roles so effortlessly, but he also knew the toll that kind of work could take on someone. "Just be careful out there. It might be bigger than any of us realize."
He took another sip of his coffee, letting the warmth spread through him as he considered the situation. "Relaxing," he repeated. "Not sure how much of that I'll actually manage, knowing what's coming. But it's good to know we've got some time before the storm hits. Gives us a chance to plan, to think things through."
Jim looked out the window, watching the sun rise over the lawn. It was a calm morning, but he knew better than to trust it. There was always something lurking beneath the surface, especially when dealing with threats like the Mandarin. "I’ll go over the files today, see if there’s anything we missed. Sometimes it helps to have a fresh perspective."
Tumblr media
He shifted his gaze back to Natasha. "Do you ever get tired of this, Natasha? The constant missions, the never-ending cycle of threats? Or is it just part of who you are now?"
