atsv solidified my belief that live action cape movies (even some of the recent dc animated ones) rly kinda feel lifeless to me bc their worlds genuinely are without people. if movies r stuck in the founder/origin only phase of their lives so much we will never get a scene with just dozens of preexisting heroes just milling around running their own plots and lives in the background of a movie of a particular character. noticeable cameos even if most don’t talk just existing is something that is so fulfilling to me and the most comiclike thing you can do. people are also a component of worldbuilding. but live action movies will just have 5 guys or something and no other heros besides them get a cameo or namedrop so they’re the only ppl in the universe I guess

like I don’t actually mean big teams I mean. posters and commercials having public hero figures advertising. someone in a convo mentioning c or b list heroes casually. a running in-universe gag about x hero/team. idk making it known tht there is a world here already established and full and vibrant

As I mentioned before, I'm auditing an art class for making comics. I'm just going to follow along with what the class is doing since as an audit I don't get to show my work for critique.

I bought a bunch of "couples" reference poses and I couldn't help but convert to fanart since I've been rereading so much fanfic.

Also, I'm trying to find a graphic style that I like (that I can draw more than one frame a week). My realistic illustrator style is like 6 weeks per illo so it's not ideal for comics. My last Remi+Scourge drawing was my "natural" style. Which is just what I draw when I'm defining edges with line art. I kind of yearn to have a really graphic style with dynamic shapes, but my designs haven't been working out for that yet so natural it is for now. Maybe someday.

Anyway another attempt at comics or semi-comiclike things may be incoming.

A Rescue Raven

Request for @sickduckweirdo​ (requests are always open btw! Rules on the bottom of pinned post)

So! She requested cursed Lilith eating Eda to protect her. She mentioned it following a story (I’m being vague, I know) so I ended up doing a more comiclike thing than usual. With a lot of drawings.

I’ll add a bit of text in between to piece the story together a little more understandably, since not everybody with interpret what I drew the way I pictured it in my mind!

What do I do? The words repeated in Lilith’s head over and over again. Her and, more specifically, Eda were being chased and close to being caught. She stopped in her tracks as an idea formed in her mind. Eda is not going to be happy about this...

Eda noticed her sister stopping. “Lily?” she called out, watching her with a raised eyebrow as she stare at their pursuers. “Why did you stop?”

A growly screech sounded from her older sister, before she was gone. She stepped backwards, staring up at the massive demon that had replaced her.

Lilith did not want to do this, but she didn’t see any other options. I’m sorry, Eda...

Eda didn’t have time to react before the beast’s jaws opened wide and it began to swallow her alive.

The people giving chase stopped, most having fled the moment they had seen they were no longer just dealing with magicless witches. But a few stuck around to see if they could still fight it to get Eda from it. Not a chance, apparently.

Lilith’s throat was tight and, from what Eda could already feel, her stomach wouldn’t be much roomier. Not that that mattered... Still, this was a very uncomfortable place to spend her last moments.

Lilith gave a final strong swallow to force the rest of Eda down into her stomach. She took off as soon as she could.

Lilith held her chest in flight, hoping Eda wasn’t going to be as furious with her as she was expecting.
