Snow was falling thick and fast as Nat follows Wanda out onto the pavilion into the cold night air. It falls in straight vertical lines gathering on their hair. Faster and faster, thicker and thicker big flakes feel like ice pricks on Nat’s bare shoulders before melting away.

“So much for the weather forecast” Nat mutters.

“This is so you” Wanda sighs stopping in her tracks.

“And what is that supposed to mean?” Nat says almost bumping into her unprepared for her abrupt stop.

Wanda shakes her head. “It means you fall for someone and then you set the world on fire so you two can’t be together.”

Nat’s eyes widen at her description. “That’s not true and—“

“Oh come on Natasha. I may be the youngest here but I am your best friend and I see what’s going on. You like someone and then you get scared so you go out of your way to screw things up. You act ridiculous so no one can really get close to you. You want attention to a point. Once someone gets close to you, and in this case Y/N, you do something catastrophic to guarantee they run a mile away.”

“Ok, well don’t feel like you need to hold back” Nat says a little hurt but more so embarrassed by how accurately Wanda had described her. She sighs and hides her face in her hands. “Wow I am a monster. Maybe it’s best she keeps away then.”

Wanda leans in closer to her best friend poking her index finger into Nat’s shoulder. “Did you not hear a thing I just said?”

“Oh I heard you loud and clear. Crystal, in fact.” Nat’s shoulder slump a little.

“I’m not saying this to make you feel bad.”

Nat snorts. “Well you’re failing there.”

Wanda rolls her eyes. “Look all I’m saying is we all have baggage. I have enough to fill the Compound. But it’s what we do with the baggage that makes it better or worse. Are you just going to keep pushing people away or are you going to let her in?”

Wanda’s steady and piercing gaze punches holes through every excuse Nat had floating about in her head. She had long realised that her attraction towards you was more than just physical. Sure you had an allure that she was immediately drawn to. But just knowing that you were in the same building as her made her feel grounded. It was as if just being close to you made the world seem a little messed up than it was. 

Nat knew Wanda was right. It was weird and it was selfish. She was purposely trying to self sabotage just because she was falling…or rather, had fallen for you. 

Nat releases a huge breath. “Why would you want me to be with her. I’m a mess, Wands.”

“Because you’re so much more. And you’re the first person who makes her smile like an idiot and isn’t just using her.”

“I’m not the right person for her” Nat counters.

“Not right now you aren’t,” Wanda leans back on her heels and folds her hands across her chest, “but you could be.”

“How?” Nat asks her voice smaller than it’s ever been.

“Stop beating yourself up for whatever it is you think you think you’re responsible for.”

“Anyone tell you you’re like Oprah and Dr Phil combined?” Nat says a smile in her voice.

Wanda kicks some snow into Nat’s direction. “Did you hear a word I just said or do you want me to hit you in the face with a snowball?”

Nat lifts both hands in surrender. “And I’m going to make this right, I promise.”

“Good” Wanda replies giving Nat a quick side hug.

“Can we go inside now my nipples feel like they’re about to fall off” Nat says shifting her weight from foot to foot.

Wanda laughs pulling Nat into her side. “It’s not my fault you’re not wearing a coat” she says as they start walking back into the building.

It's taken me two weeks but I finally finished all of my qsmp egg human designs!!!

I have a lot to say about the design choices I made, so I'll put those under the read more if you want to hear my headcanons!!

Some general headcanons:

• In order of shortest to tallest it goes: Bobby, Richalyson, Gegg, Tallulah, Tilín, Trump, JuanaFlippa, Pomme, Chayanne, Leonarda, Ramón, and Dapper.

• All of the eggs when found were wearing the same white vest/t-shirt and black shorts combination; along with their unique accessories. Any clothes that they're currently wearing, were gifted to them by the player characters.

• All of the eggs are the same age, and are all related (pretty sure that's canon tho).

• The eggs take on physical features from their parents, as an survival instinct. This includes basics such as hair and eye colour. But also includes things such as height and hair type.

• Eggs who's parents are avian/have bird-like features (such as wings), will adapt to have the same wing type as them. This also applies to other eggs, who are taken care of by avian players (see: Tallulah has dragon wings, but is growing black and golden feathers on them).

• The lower half of the eggs are dragon-esque; with scaley legs and clawed feet. The colour of their scales and number of toes that they posses are fixed and cannot be changed. Their ears and horn are a unique shape and colour, depending on the egg. The horns will continue to grow into adulthood.

They also have more naturally sharpened nails (like claws (but not sharp enough to hurt)).

Tallulah

• Wears one of Wilbur's yellow sweaters, the sleeves often hanging over her hands. The red dress she wears is actually meant to be a pinafor, which is a staple part of a primary school uniform, here in the UK. They're most commonly grey, which I originally coloured it but it didn't look right, so I changed it.

• Has a freckle under her right eye (to her) that matches Wilbur, but also has a reverse freckle pattern of Quackity (I'm a tntduo-er (sue me)).

• Due to being cared for by Phil, she has begun growing small, black feathers on her wings. She also has a few golden ones, which started appering whilst trying to get Quackity to confess to Wilbur.

Chayanne

• Takes after Phil the most, due to Missa's absence. This includes his wings becoming feathered crow ones, growing feathers on his face and tail, and has a hair and an eye colour to match Phil's. He also has a matching mole.

• Sometimes wears a helmet made from a large eggshell, painted to look like a skull (a nod to Missa and the fact that the eggs are... well, eggs). The skull on his t-shirt is also a nod to Missa (but he defo got it from Phil).

• His duck floaty has been replaced by a yellow hoodie, tied around his waist.

Tilín

• Remember how I said that the clothes they wear were given to them by their parents? I like the idea (and think it's very in-character for him) that Quackity basically said, "I don't have any clothes for you, so just wear this until I find some", giving Tilín one of his jackets, and then they Tilín passed away before he could get him something else.

• He and Tallulah are the same height (again, I'm a tntduo-er (yes I am aware that Tilín's other parent has been confirmed to be Luzu, but this is my post so SHUSH). Also, similar to Tallulah, they have the same freckle pattern as Quackity, and an opposite placed freckle (under their left eye) to Wilbur.

• Has golden wings and feathers on face. Doesn't has a tail, due to low placement of their wings.

JunaFlippa

• Wears one of Slime's white t-shirts with the three red hearts. Also owns a pair of Mariana's red gloves (not included in the drawing).

• Her wings have small holes in them, due to going to hell and coming back again.

• Gun.

• Her hair colour is closest to Slimecicle's, but it's unknown why her eyes are green (not brown like Mariana or blue like Slime).

Bobby

• The smallest of all the eggs.

• From Jaiden he has her wings, bang and hair sprout pattern and colour. From Roier he has his multiple eyes (bc spider), eye colour, and wears one of his bandanas like him.

(I forgot to include the paint stains on his clothes, but he has those too).

Leonarda

• Has small, rainbow mushrooms growing from their horns.

• From Foolish she has wings of gold (yes, you heard me. Leo's wings aren't like Tilín's with golden feathers, but are literally made from gold (yes she can still fly with them)). From Vegetta they have his hair and eye colour.

Trump

• Was given one of Dan's turtlenecks and jackets, which were never replaced because, 1) Dan went "missing", 2) he [Trump] died before getting anything else.

(On another note, it was so wild for me to draw that jacket. I used to be a HUGE DanTDM fan, and the last time I drew fanart relating to him was in 2016/17)).

• Took after Maxo in hair and eye colour.

Dapper

• The tallest egg (bc qBBH is one tall motherfucker). • Obviously, all of his features come from BBH, including the shape of his horns and the shape of his tail.

(if you were to put Dapper and BBH next to each other, Dapper would literally just look like a tiny BBH).

Pomme

• Her beret isn't all black like her egg model, but looks like a red apple.

• Has split-coloured scales (one side blue, the other red) to match the placement of the markings on her egg model.

• Has golden duck wings to match Baghera. I went back and forth on whether to give her those or the butterfly wings she wears in-game. But I like the idea that those are more simialr to those fancy-dress type ones you can buy.

• The bottom of her dress has an apple stiched onto it.

Ramón

• Second tallest egg.

• Yes he has hair under the hat (I haven't made him bald, don't worry). The hat itself is a nod to Spreen, who is his other parent but hasn't logged on in a while. His general outfit is also mean to have belonged to Spreen, as his Minecraft skin is just a bear in Steve's clothes.

I changed the pants, and added a white shirt and monocle because I like the idea that he's a bit of a fancy boy.

• The moustache on his egg model is represented in his hair, which you can see sticking out from under the hat (bc, like Chayanne, I had no idea how to get it to work in a logical sense).

Richarlyson

• The second shortest egg.

• I'll be completely honest, I have no idea where the prosthetic leg headcanon came from for him, but I liked it so I included it. The leg I gave him is a running blade, as he is a fairly active kid.

• His hair covers his eyes, but underneath they are brown.

Gegg

(Yes I'm including Gegg, shush)

• His whole body is green goop. This is how qSlime would also look, but it's easier for him to have his skin appear human, when at his "correct" size. When he [Slime] becomes over emotional/damged, his skin becomes more slime like.

Gegg is qSlime's way of coping with both his own daughter's loss and also his own self image. Because of this, he is always in a state of hurt, and this is refelected in Gegg's physical appearance.

• Has sticks sticking out of him, as well as visible bones, rocks, and other debris within his body. They get stuck in his him, in moments where he has a hard time controling the stickiness/consistency of his body.

• Doesn't have horns, wings, or a tail like the other eggs. Instead, he wears a pair of green, fancy-dress, dragon wings. It's obvious to other players/eggs- because they're on the outside of his clothes- but no points it out.

• Jorts.

• His t-shirt says "gegg" upside down, because he wrote it on himself, whilst wearing the shirt.

• No nose. His eyes also hover inconsistently over where his hair should cover them. His glasses are also just qSlime's.

• Gegg for president.

Hello, sorry if this has been asked before and no worries if you don’t wanna answer, but do you think Alice had an actual relationship with anyone (excepting Jasper, Edmund, and Bella)? She doesn’t strike me as a social butterfly and she’s not even that close to the rest of the Cullens. I’m don’t know if you would agree but she seems kind of lonely to me?

No.

Alice's gift is such that the people around her, even those she loves, are dehumanized. They become a series of probability distributions that she should guide into picking the best course of action.

Edward is the one she feels a real sense of kinship with, as he shares those visions through his own gift and like her is an unwilling voyeur to those he loves most.

Bella she seems to like because she can tell her what to do and do what she wants with her. She can always have fun times with Bella, can always have Bella look fabulous, and can have all sorts of new experiences and parties because of Bella. They don't actually talk all that much or say anything particularly meaningful to one another.

Jasper's similar in that their relationship boils down to "Alice had a vision about him". In canon, we see them chafing against one another, and their relationship seems to work as it is because Jasper at the end of the day has Alice has his highest priority/will listen to her, not because they have any kind of meaningful relationship.

The thing is, though, that while this is a very small group of people Alice has any relationship it's also the only effort she puts into any relationship. Rosalie wishes she could be closer to Alice, but Alice doesn't seem to want to put up with her. We don't see Alice reaching out much to the other family members or resentful of having only close relationships with a few.

While Alice is lonely, yes, I think she's also content with the situation. She has a sibling/friend in Edward who truly understands her in a way no one else can, she has a lover in Jasper, and a sister and friend in Bella. She doesn't need the others and if she wanted to she could seek a course where they would be whatever she'd wanted them to be (that is, at the end of the day, what Alice's gift is best for).

Alice is living that montage in Groundhog's Day where Phil tries to seduce Rita and treats it as finding the right combination of words to get his desired end result, where Rita isn't so much a person as she is a mysterious black box who can predictably respond to known input.

Basically, Alice doesn't see people as people enough to consider herself lonely. If she did, she would rework her approach to those around her to put people into roles that make her feel less lonely.

God au

Phil has always had a bit of a green thumb plants always seem to bend to his will.

But

He did not wake up today to expect HE WOULD LITERALLY BEND NATURE AT HIS WILL OR EVEN CREATED IT!

He never expected or wanted to become a god no less expected to become a god of nature with all the death that walks behind his path.

He stumbles around in the courts and gold Palace looking for some guy called cucurucho? Apparently he's supposed to be filling him in on his duties and everything else about godhood he really didn't listen to those bunnies.

He manages to stumble into the office with a white bear that had an unsettling smile. This time he paid attention quietly to what it said about his duties and what rules he had to follow and what's more, but no one could blame him for his sudden burst.

"MARRIED!?! YOU DUM ASS I CAN'T BE MARRIED I JUST GOT HERE HOLY SHIT I AM SOROUND BY DUM ASSES"

He was a bout to lunch at the furry creature but it quickly pulled out a gun and shot him.

The world went black.

Missa was during the regular day today singing about cats and sandwiches, flirting with pineapples and guiding souls you know you know the whole works.

He's seen a lot of unexpected things in his life he would like to say. like the one time he saw a dinosaur get stuck in mud! he was the one to take it soul to the afterlife!

But never in his life would he think he would get any type of promotion no less GOD HOOD.

He's not fit or responsible enough to handle this responsibility he can hardly handle this!

But he follows the bunnies anyways, they said since cucarucho had to handle a issue that they would inform him instead of his duties and the rules that he must follow and another extra thing. He tried his best to listen carefully he could hardly believe his ears whenever he heard the last thing.

" Marriage?!? No no no you got the wrong guy I am nowhere near marriage man I can't even make a sandwich sometimes and you want me to get married oh no -

They wait until he stops burying himself in a little rabbit hole of emotions.

To lead him to the place where he is staying.

It's an odd place it is twisted and split and turned with life and death with every beautiful flourishing flower there is death the ground is littered in animal bones.

There are giant flowers that will eat you and Missa knows from almost experience he got a little too close on accident spooked by a different plant! And whell you can guess what happened next right?

Anyway they finally approached an open sanctuary in the middle a dark Palace lies almost being overtaken by life. He's led inside surrounded by a whimsical interior of deep green blues and purples with dark wood there are golden and silver accents everywhere.

He is led to every room and given a whole tour of the place they stop at one room with a crow school as a crust and they leave him.

He opens the door to a master bedroom the most fancy luxurious thing he's ever set his eyes on. But somehow it feels warm and comforting his eyes finally wander over to the bed seeing a man laying on top of it.

Spooked by the rather sudden appearance he screams and tries to scramble out the door but he ends up falling on his ass.

The sleeping man stirs from his sleep taking a minute to observe and soak in his surroundings.

" What the fuck"

Phil woke up with a throbbing headache and too much on his eyes he was in a room full of gold and a combination of green and purple silks and elegant dark wood furniture.

He looks over to see a man fallen on his ass probably the funniest s*** he seen today.

" What the fuck"

He can't help himself he laughs until he can't breathe. When he finally calms himself down he takes a minute to soak in the man's appearance.

He is lightly tanned he has dark hair a skull mask and he wears reaper robes. He looks anxious and out of place, Phil softens his gaze he can relate.

" Hay mate uh- want to check out this bed it's pretty comfy"

Hey everyone! Here is my submission for the Dan and Phil Phasquerade Tumblr Event! First off, as a surprise, I made not one, but TWO songs for the event!

The first one is the main theme song for the event as requested by @wdapteo! 生き甲斐 (Ikigai)! It’s not fully orchestral but I put a bit of strings and horns in there, so I guess it counts lol! I decided to go with a theme that was mainly based around guitars and synths. I also put in a few Asian instruments such as the koto to represent their trips to Japan. The title “Ikigai” is a Japanese concept that refers to one’s sense of purpose or reason to live and is a combination of the words “iki”(to live) and “gai” (reason). This concept can include people such as friends, families, and partners, as well as activities such as one’s hobby or pastime. It basically means that one can find joy in their life by being aligned with their purpose. I thought this concept would be perfect for the phasquerade because Dan and Phil’s ikigai or reason to live is each other. 🥰

As for the background image, I found a picture on Adobe Stock Photos of two masquerade masks that looked PERFECT for Dan and Phil. (The black one is Dan’s and the white one is Phil’s, obviously, lol 😂) Phanartists, feel free to use those masks in ur art! ��🏻

The second song I made is an orchestral ballroom version of JVKE’s Golden Hour! It took me around two days to do, along with constant listening to the song to get the chords right and then add my own bits on top of it 😂 I’m really proud of this version because lemme tell ya, making orchestral music on Garageband IOS is harder than it looks 😭😅 I still can’t believe how far I’ve gone with making music on this app bc I started using it in 2018 and back then, I had a hard time navigating everything but I slowly worked my way up to where I am now, and tbh I still have far more to go! The background image I used for this is another stock image I found on Pexels that fit the vibe of the song! (Also the two men in the picture looked like Dan and Phil haha 😂)

Anyways, here's a little introduction of me: I’m Kristy, aka @nothoughtsonlytrance. My pronouns are she/they and I am pansexual! (Fun fact, I found out I was pan around the same time that Dan and Phil came out in 2019 lol) I’ve been watching Dan and Phil since around 2012/2013 (so when I was around 12 or 13 years old) because that was the time when I really started watching YouTube and eventually found their channels. I vividly remember watching the Photobooth Challenge video and crying with laughter because it was so hilarious. I continued to look forward to seeing their videos after school and finally got to see them on stage in 2018 for their Interactive Introverts tour when they came to Richmond, VA. (didn’t get VIP tickets for the meet and greet tho so I still have yet to meet them in person 😭🤞) It continues to be one of my favorite memories of them and I remember crying when seeing them on stage. Their videos mean so much to me and I even made my quote for my college graduation cap “Embrace the void and have the courage to exist” because their videos got me through the last two semesters of college!😎👌🏻(Which got noticed by Dan and Phil in their Phan Twitter Memes 2 video!) Words cannot express how proud I am of them, especially after their coming out videos and how they feel more free to be themselves! And I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them! (And also us haha)

I think the song that will be playing when I take the stage is “Once Upon a December” from the musical Anastasia! It is one of my favorite musicals and I even got to see it in NYC with my family a few years back! Also, as someone who was adopted from Russia, this song really speaks to me personally. I don’t speak Russian fluently, only a few basic words and phrases that my parents taught me that they learned when they were adopting me, (I only speak English) but I’ve been trying to learn the lyrics to the Russian version of the song so I can sing along with it too. (Pronouncing Russian isn’t easy haha)

I was supposed to do this yesterday but I had homework so here is your Owl House DSMP AU dump :] (There are 2 versions btw)

"MAIN" Owl House DSMP AU: The Crow House(still coming up with a better name):

The island/demon realm this takes place in is called Essempii because Dream SMP sounds a bit on the nose considering Dream's role in this.

Tommy - Luz:

Tommy stumbles into the Essempii when Brian(Phil's crow/palisman) snatches the jar Shroud(Tommy's pet tarantula) was being kept in while he was on a walk holding Shroud's travel jar(don't worry, Tommy has a properly sized habitat for Shroud, the jar is only when Tommy wants to take Shroud out of the house. And yes I had to research proper tarantula care.)

Also, Shroud is a completely black curly-haired tarantula because it looked the closest to a Minecraft spider and was also a common species of tarantula to keep.

Tommy got in trouble a lot in school(in the human realm) for various reasons like letting raccoons into the school because he felt bad for them living on the streets, sneaking Shroud into the school and putting him in someone's hair(usually someone he found annoying), causing small fires in the science lab, and getting into fights with pricks, y'know, the usual.

When Tommy discovered the Essempii, it was on a Friday and close to summer break. He stays there for the weekend or a single day and leaves afterward. He makes a promise to come back when he's off for the summer.

Potions was the first type of magic Tommy learned to actually use and also got interested in Beast-keeping

Tommy learned about glyphs from Tubbo when they first met which I'll probably have a separate post for since I have a scene planned for it already. Basically, Tubbo knows about glyphs from experimenting but only knows the basic ones since he has the magic to not need them except for experiments. When they first met, Tubbo was using glyphs for an experiment that involved making basically a grenade. Tubbo taught Tommy the glyphs he knows and later, Tommy was able to figure out how to combine them.

Tommy's palisman will definitely be a raccoon in this AU version :))))) (In the 2nd AU version, he has a phoenix palisman)

Greek mythology isn't known in the Essempii, but Tommy read about Greek Mythology when he got bored back in the human realm.

Phil - Eda:

ANARCHYYYYYY (He's an anarchist)

He wasn't cursed by someone close to him(mostly because idk who it would be that doesn't already have a separate role). He was cursed by Admin Dream(who takes the role of Emperor Belos) for using wild magic and was going to be put into Pandora's Vault along with being cursed, chained up like a wild animal. This is the typical punishment for people who are caught using wild magic. However, Phil was able to escape and keep the curse under control. I have the perfect video to show what Phil looks like when the curse takes over but I don't have the energy to find it.

Also, I'm highly considering if Chat should be Hooty. We're definitely silly enough for it :/

His hardcore heart pendant thing is how he guages his magic

The curse didn't give him his wings. What the curse actually does is amplify hybrid genes.

Phil used to carve palismen for people in the Essempii but as the wood for palismen became more scarce, he couldn't do that anymore.

Tubbo - Gus/Willow

Tubbo mainly uses plant magic like Willow, but has Gus's general energy.

Although he mostly uses plant magic at school, he loves to use fire or explosive magic which- y'know, doesn't work out well considering plants are flammable and- yeah :/ He causes wayyyy too many fires. However, when he combines this magic, it's really useful in combat.

Tubbo likes experimenting with mixing magic and gets in trouble for it a lot but somehow finds a way to get out of trouble. After a very risky incident that nearly ended with serious consequences, he stuck to doing magic-mixing experiments in a secret lab setup in the forest(which is where he first met Tommy)

Has a bee palisman but I'm still figuring out a name

Tubbo has a garden and likes to put any weeds he pulls out into their own separate planters since he thinks they deserve to live as much as the other plants do because they're also just trying to survive(I got this idea from Tommy in Unlikely Events)

Tubbo and Tommy's shared love for animals and chaos caused them to get along well

When Tubbo isn't at school, he basically looks like a young version of QSMP! Tubbo's design

After students are able to join multiple tracks, Tubbo joins the beast-keeping and potion tracks along with staying in his current track

Ranboo - Gus/Willow

I have so much extra lore for Ranboo TvT

Even though they're in the Oracle track, they use other types of magic, mainly illusion and healing. Obviously, they are careful about when they use it and isn't as careless about it as Tubbo since they're trying to stay under the radar

They're secretly an enderian, a hybrid race that was slaughtered after Admin Dream took the throne because their enderpearls(which allowed them to teleport freely) were considered wild magic. Another big reason they were killed was because they have a natural talent for magic which Dream feared because they had the power to take him down if they worked together. Enderians were also one of the first people to discover magic so wild magic is ingrained in their culture.

To hide the fact they're an enderian, they use a concealment stone to hide their hybrid traits. Without the concealment stone, they basically look exactly like C! Ranboo but with different clothes. With the concealment stone, they look human(but with pointy ears of course) with heteochromic eyes(warm brown and muddled green), split black and white hair, and vitiligo.

Some enderians survived and had secret camps around the Essempii. The one Ranboo was born in was discovered and raided by Dream's army. Ranboo survived the attack because their parents hid them and gave him the concealment stone and a necklace that is a family heirloom. The pendant of the necklace looks like an eye of ender but smaller.

The concealment stone is kinda weak because to hide it, Ranboo broke it into smaller pieces so it could fit inside the eye of ender pendant. Ranboo uses their magic to help the illusion be more stable.

Sometimes, their magic isn't able to fully support the illusion so their mouth, hands, and eyes revert back and speckles of his black and white skin appear like freckles. To hide this, he wears a mask, sunglasses, and gloves.

They also know healing magic because they learned it back before the Enderian camp was invaded. They thought it would be useful and it comes in handy since Tubbo and Tommy always get hurt because they are chaotic and have a knack for getting in trouble.

Once they're able to take multiple tracks, they take the illusion and healing track. They want to learn how to control their illusions better to stay more concealed and they want to be able to heal Tommy and Tubbo when they get bigger, more dangerous wounds.

Okay that's it for now, I didn't realize how long this would take. I didn't even get to start talking about my 2nd Owl House DSMP AU(which is the one I like better despite it being newer and less planned). I'll continue with this AU in the next post then finally get to my 2nd AU.

Leo:

She noticed his eyes were a very dark shade of blue. His skin was sallow, the sort of paleness that suggested either a recent illness or a lack of sunlight. Combined with his black hair it gave him a washed-out, almost unreal look. One of his eyebrows was slightly higher and more arched than the other. That was the only obvious imperfection in a face that was otherwise too abnormally handsome to be truly attractive. (The Unfortunate Moth)

He was young. Under thirty. Black hair and blue eyes. One eyebrow was slightly raised. (Houses Full of Deceit)

She'd had a pretty heart-shaped face and cornflower-blue eyes. Her hair had been black. If she had lost weight so her cheekbones became more prominent, if the line of her jaw had been sharper and her chin more pointed, if her nose had been long and straight instead of snubbed, she would have looked exactly like Leopold Colman. Phil:

Everything about her was sharp: her jaw, her nose, the shape of her face, the look in her eyes. She didn't say a word. Her face was very pale and there was a wild, hunted sort of look in her eyes. Because of how distant some fanon designs are from the creator's skin(s) and because of how many new fans there are combining for the qsmp, I want to talk about fanon character designs and where some details, in-jokes and references come from.

I'm going to use Tubbo, Phil, and Wilbur as examples because they are who I'm most familiar with in terms of fanart and how fanon depictions have evolved and changed over the years.

Tubbo has the most different character design from his minecraft skin, honestly. His mc skin is Tweek from South Park, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a simple green button-up and jeans. Fanon design gives him brown hair to match his real life person, and any goat/ram hybrid design stems from dsmp fanon headcanons. Any explosion scars are from his 2nd canon death on the dsmp. My favorite detail is a red handkerchief tied around his arm or neck, since it's popular fanon (from dsmp era) that he gave his best friend tommyinnit a green one and tommy gave him a red one- their favorite colors that match their shirts.

Phil is often given many references, but lots of fanon designs for him are based in smaller details compared to tubbo. He's often given charms that reference those close to him. SBI, for example, and Kristin, his wife. If you see beads or color-coordinated charms, pink = techno, yellow = wilbur, and red = tommy. If you see an emerald, probably hanging from his hat, it's a Friendship emerald given to him on the dsmp from Technoblade. Black flowers/roses are also often given to him because Kristin was given the role as Goddess of Death, which I think he's made canon to the qsmp.

Wilbur designs honestly deviate the most from past designs, but just in case a reference slips through- small details like the L'Manberg flag or a blue sheep as stickers or patches are from the dsmp. Maybe a white streak or trench coat, but I haven't seen those often. Wings? bird wings are fanon, sometimes a hint towards SBI, but wings that kinda look like bat wings are phantom wings from the origins server he played on.

It's just super cool! I love seeing these things details transfer over as it references to the past cc's work. I'd love to hear if there are design aspects in fanart for other creators that new fans might not know about or the reasoning for! Small details that aren't on their mc skin, or even details that get ignored on their skin. Fun things that aren't wide fanon but YOU enjoy adding, I'd also love to hear about! use this as an excuse to promote your art, haha!

Something was wrong on the server, Grian knew it. There were reports of a ghostly figure from many different people over a span of two weeks, so it wasn’t a task of any sort… people did say the ghost looked like martyn, but wasn’t martyn still red? Not to mention people who lost all three lives never came back as ghosts, it was something else.

“Grian..? Hey Grian can we talk?” Grian looked up to to see Ethoslab standing by him, “Sure, what do you need?” Etho messed with his hands, he seemed slightly spooked “I had an encounter with the ghost.” Grian raised an eyebrow, “Okay? What does that have to do with me?” Grian asked, Etho sighed, “when I mean encounter I mean it talked to me, i felt how cold he was... He asked for you, he wanted me to take you to him.” Grian looked around, Etho had no reason to lie to him, “ok where is this ghost..?” Etho gestured for him to follow him.

Soon the pair got to a small secluded cave, Grian started to hear a chant of sorts, “Bolas bolas bolas...” Etho sucked in a breath “Hey there, I brought Grian like you asked are y-“ the ghost cut him off “GRIAN!” the ghost flew and embraced Grian, making he yelp and shiver from the freezing cold. “Uh hello..? Who are you..?” The ghost floated back, allowing Grian to get a look, he had long white-blonde hair, a tattered robe, a gas mask hanging from his neck, ruined black wings, and a large wound across their chest. Still Grian could see the familiar icy blue eyes and striped bucket hat. “Wait…. Phil?” The ghost smiled “hi Grian! How have you been??”

Flo ran out of patience twenty years ago.

For eighteen of those years, she’s been working for Hawkins’ Police Department. People have come and gone during her time here, but she has remained, through thick and thin.

Besides Flo, Jim is the one who has been here the longest, with his five years. Calvin came in a year later, and Phil only started two years ago when his family moved to Hawkins from Montana.

This means that Flo has been here longer than the three of them combined, which gives her seniority. Sure, on paper they all outrank her, but in reality, she is the one who keeps things running around here and they wouldn’t dare cross her. They all know that Flo has no patience for bullshit.

Not anymore. Not since she threw her abusive piece of shit husband out on his ass twenty years ago, got a job, and managed to raise their three teenage sons by herself despite what everyone said about her behind her back.

Everything at the department runs smoothly, because Flo is in charge of it. The boys know better than to encroach on her territory, and have learned to ask her for the things they need rather than try to find them themselves and risk messing with her system. They’re fast learners, that way. Or maybe her glare is just that terrifying.

“I don’t think they’re afraid of you,” Harold said over breakfast one day when she mentioned it. “They’re simply showing you the respect you deserve, honey.”

Flo huffed and rolled her eyes at that, but Harold had only smiled serenely at her and put another sugar cube in his coffee.

Harold is, perhaps, the only person for which Flo will make an effort to be patient. They met years ago, but didn’t get together until all her sons were already grown up and had moved out, far from Hawkins. And even then, it was two years before Flo let him into her life fully.

All the patience that Flo lacks, Harold has in abundance. Enough to cover the both of them, he usually jokes.

She is thankful for him. He’s a good man. Not everyone is lucky enough to find themselves a good man – she knows that by experience.

Flo has a lot of experience. Which is why her eyes narrow when she walks into the station one morning to find a young man in handcuffs seated at Phil’s desk while Phil is rummaging around in the filing cabinet in the corner of the room.

The young man glances up as she passes him – he’s got a black eye with a swollen eyelid, and splotchy bruising on his jaw – but looks down again before she can meet his eye. Frowning, she walks up to Phil and clears her throat. To his credit, he only jumps a little and immediately backs away from the filing cabinet.

“I wasn’t ...” he starts, “I just needed an empty file.”

She raises her eyebrows and looks at him over the rim of her glasses as he gives a helpless little shrug. Without a word, she walks over to another cabinet where she keeps the empty files. He takes the one she hands him with a low “Thanks, Flo”, and walks back to his desk to deal with his young perp.

Flo listens in as she prepares for the day; brings in the morning paper, starts the coffee machine, goes through the agenda for the day, looks over the unintelligible scribbles that Phil – who had the night shift – calls notes. While she works, she listens to Phil as he talks to the kid – a Mr. William Hargrove, apparently.

It’s quiet in the station in the morning, and Flo hasn’t turned the radio on yet. She may be old, but there is nothing wrong with her ears and it’s not like the other two occupants in the room are talking in low voices. It wouldn’t matter, anyway. She’s the one who types out the reports.

The more she hears, the deeper her frown gets. When Jim finally shows up around nine, Flo intercepts him before Phil can catch his attention. She hands him a cup of hot coffee and pointedly doesn’t comment on the pastry crumbs in his moustache that show that he visited the bakery on his way to work.

“Jim, a word?” And Jim knows better than to cross her this early in the morning, so he accepts the coffee, nods, and gestures for her to lead the way into his office.

“That young man in there,” Flo says as soon as the door is closed behind them and points with her thumb over her shoulder. “Phil picked him up at the gas station outside of town around daybreak. He was slinking around the parking lot, and Phil caught him at the back door, holding a brick. Looking like he was trying to break in.”

“Okay?” Jim says, taking a sip of his coffee. He’ll be able to read this in Phil’s report later, so he’s probably wondering why Flo is telling him this.

She huffs. “The kid is beat up, Jim. He says he got in a fight but no one has made any calls about a fight tonight. There are no marks on his hands. He’s been sitting hunched-over since he got here. And you know what they sell at the gas station, besides gas and snacks?” She raises her eyebrows expectantly. She doesn’t suffer fools gladly.

Luckily for her, and everyone else in town, their Chief is no fool. And he, too, has some experience with these things. His eyes clear in realization. “Pain pills. Basic first aid stuff.” She nods, satisfied that she doesn’t have to spell it out for him. “Who is he? I don’t recognize him.”

“New in town, apparently,” Flo says. “Name of Hargrove. The family moved in from California a week or so ago.”

Jim hums, and Flo knows that he’ll take what she has said into consideration when he inevitably talks to the boy, after he’s sent Phil home to get some sleep. It’s enough. She’s done what she can.

Or so she thinks, until she walks out of Jim’s office and sees that Phil is leading the young man towards the holding cells. The kid looks beaten down. Exhausted.

“Oh just leave the kid here,” Flo says and watches as both of them stop and turn towards her.

“Protocol states –“ Phil starts, but Flo huffs and waves it away.

“Since when do you care about protocol? Jim will want to speak to him soon anyway. I’ll look after him. You go home, Phil. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Phil knows better than to argue. Fast learners, the lot of them. He goes to exchange a few words with Jim before going off his shift, and leaves Flo and the kid alone. She gestures at the chair in front of Phil’s desk, the one he was sitting in before, and the kid sinks back into it. Flo knows she’s not imagining the wince as he’s sitting down. It’s gone in a flash, but it was definitely there.

She turns her back on him, only in part to give him a chance to compose himself. A minute or so later, she walks back to him and places a mug of coffee, a glass of water and two white pills on the desk in front of him.

He looks up at her, surprised. “What’s this?”

Inpatient, she gestures at the items. “What does it look like, kid?”

“I don’t need –“

She’s not about to get into a discussion with him, so she cuts him off. “I’m not forcing you to take them. Take them or don’t. Up to you.”

She turns her back again and leaves him to his own devices. She has her own work to do, after all, the phones won’t answer themselves and Mr. Thompson usually calls first thing in the morning to rant about whatever the neighbor’s kids got up to last night.

When she passes the kid next, the pills are gone and the water glass is empty. She’s glad to see it, even if she doesn’t say anything. The boy is holding the coffee cup with his handcuffed hands and taking small sips, grimacing at the bitterness of it. Flo probably should have offered him milk or sugar, but everyone at the station drinks their coffee black so it didn’t cross her mind.

She meant what she said, though. The kid can drink it, or not. His choice. She’s not his keeper.

She putters around the station while Jim speaks to the kid in his office. Talks a bit with Gail who is passing by with her dachshund, and waters the few spider plants that she has placed on the south-facing windowsills.

The kid emerges from the office uncuffed, with Jim following behind him.

“I’m driving Billy here back to his car,” Jim says, pulling on his jacket. “I’ll be right back. Hold the fort, will you?”

It’s a rhetorical question. He knows that she will.

She spends the time while he’s out typing out Phil’s near-illegible notes for the kid’s file, and adds a couple of details she heard them talk about that Phil forgot to write down. She’s done this for decades, she knows what details are important. She’s just finishing up when Jim comes back, this time alone.

He sinks into Calvin’s empty chair, which is the one closest to Flo’s desk. None of them speak for a moment, then Jim sighs. “I think you’re right.”

“I know,” Flo says, and hands him the boy’s newly typed-up file. “The question is, what are you going to do about it?”

“There’s not really anything I can …” He trails off when she levels him with an unimpressed look. “Don’t look at me like that, Flo. I am the Chief of Police, I have to follow the law. I can’t do anything if he’s not talking. And he’s not talking.”

She purses her lips. “They live over on Cherry, you know.”

He frowns, suspicious. “So?”

“I have a friend who lives on Cherry. Ruth. I haven’t visited her in a while.”

Jim groans. “No, Flo. I’ll keep an eye on the family, okay? You don’t have to get involved again –“

“Who said anything about getting involved? I just think it’s about time I visited my good friend Ruth. We haven’t talked in ages. Maybe she has some new gossip for me. About her new neighbors.”

Running his hand down his face, Jim groans again. “Please, Flo.”

“It’s a small town. It’s important to get to know your new neighbors, after all. As a representative for the Police Department, perhaps I should go and say hello.”

“You’re killing me,” he says under his breath, standing up with a grunt. “I’ll make some calls to an old colleague in California. Happy?”

She levels him with a look and raises her eyebrows. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

She does, and they both know it. She’s also not going to let it go. They both know that, too.

“This is gonna blow up in my face somehow, I know it.”

As Chief of Police his hands are tied in a way that hers aren’t. Going through the right channels is just too slow-moving for her. She doesn’t have that kind of patience.

So she shrugs. “That’s a price I’m willing to pay.”

“Of course it is,” he mutters. “Because you won’t be the one paying it.”

“Excuse me?” she says, raising her eyebrows. “Who does all the paperwork around here?”

He inclines his head as if to say ‘fair’, and then adds, “Fine. You win. But if you happen to go and say hello, please take Harold with you. At least he has a sense of tact.”

She glares at him, but it’s half-hearted. Harold will want to come with her, anyway, when she tells him about the boy.

For a while before we had dinosaurs like Microraptor and Archaeopteryx we had the theory that Dinosaurs were linked to Birds but didn’t have the hard evidence like a linking species between the two to prove it.  During this look for a “missing link” farmers in China were digging for fossils illegally and looking to sell what they could find on the black market.  Eventually a farmer did find a rare fossil that did prove interesting and might have been that “missing link” paleontologists were looking for.  The only problem was that it was incomplete, Incomplete fossils are less valuable then complete fossils so to remedy this the farmer combined a different fossil from a nearby site in a way he thought looked correct to him in the hope no one would notice.

“Archeoraptor” fossil [A]

When the fossil was brought to the US it was sold to the The Dinosaur Museum in Blanding Utah.  The museum was run by Stephen A. Czerkas and his wife Sylvia Czerkas.  Stephen did not hold a degree in paleontology but was a dinosaur enthusiast and made some beautiful sculptures.  He arranged for patrons of his museum to provide the $80,000 needed to purchase the fossil.

The Czerkases got in contact with Phil Currie a well-known Canadian Paleontologist to take a look at the fossil under the condition that it would eventually go back to China as according to authorities no fossils were to leave China.  Phil then contacted the National Geographic Society who intended to get the fossil published into the scientific journal Nature and then follow up with a press conference and a spotlight in an issue of the National Geographic magazine.

Initially the Dinosaur museum wanted to keep the fossil in their museum for 5 years before sending it back to China but after Christopher Sloan (the writer for the National Geographic article) said he would not write on it if it was not sent back home immediately after publication they changed there mind.

This is also about the time they flew Xu Xung, a well renowned paleontologist from China to help work on analyzing the fossil.  When Phil did the initial examination on the fossil it was immediately clear that something was off.  And after a CT scan it became clear that some amount of fraud was afoot.  The Czerkas then insisted on keeping this information private.  Phil sent his preparator Kevin Aulenback to get the fossil ready for further study.  Kevin also concluded that the fossil must be a composite skeleton but the Czerkas denied this and still never told National Geographic about any of this.

The team then started creating the paper for Nature, In the paper it was specified that parts were composited.  Nature rejected the paper because National Geographic refused to delay their publication so there was no time to peer review the paper.  The paper was then submitted to Science, a different scientific journal and was also rejected because Science learned about the fossil's suspicious past and origins. 

National Geographic decided to publish without peer review and the fossil was revealed to the public in a press conference in October 1999 and was then put into the November copy of National Geographic.  It was described as a missing link that helped provide the connection between dinosaurs and birds.  Worst of all though it was named "Archaeoraptor liaoningensis" (with a disclaimer saying this name wouldn’t count but with the assumption that the Czerkas paper would eventually be released).  This is horrible because it sidestepped the academic process of naming a new species through a scientific paper and took the honor of naming the new species away from the people who did the work and opened the door for journalists to rush publication to cement a name they wanted instead.  Along with, you know, naming a dinosaur that didn’t exist confusing further any future papers on the subject.

National Geographic then started their investigation into all of this unraveling this whole tangled mess of miscommunication and hurt egos.  In the end the Czerkas showed remorse in their part in these events saying they made "an idiot, bone-stupid mistake".  Most participants in this also felt regrets for their part.

“Archaeoraptor '' is often used by uninformed people to dismiss the connection between birds and dinosaurs and to discredit paleontologists.  In reality though all paleontologists and professionals who came in contact with the fossil noticed something was wrong and it was simply the lack of any communication and probably a bit of sunken cost fallacy that lead to this embarrassment.  Also many connections have now been found that validate the bird dinosaur connection including. “Archaeoraptor” will serve as a lesson for future paleontologists on knowing the origins of the specimens they study and working with private collectors.

Ahh!!! Very good questions!! They first end up meeting post-crash around mid to late game ( leaning end of mid game ) . They know eachother prior to the crash, close friends that have been working on the Aurora with various busywork jobs for a few years.

[[ Phil works in security maintenance, making sure systems are up and running. He's also occasionally used for finding things the automated security wouldn't pick up on if there were foul play aboard. Dan designs cost efficient habitats for people to use when they're exploring other planets. The margin for error on the Aurora is definitely extremely small, so neither were thinking a crash would even be feasible. ]]

Post crash, I imagine they do find out there's another survivor through the Warper radio after the sunbeam is downed. Instead of saying one individual, it says two, and they're both quite surprised to hear it.

They end up meeting properly because Dan finds Phil's base while looking for wreckage.

( at this point Phil has most likely moved his base a bit deeper, still in the mushroom forest but more obscured to attempt to avoid bone sharks )

He parks outside and enters, and to his shock it has power. There's a prawn suit charging on the moonpool and living plants about, clear evidence of someone being currently very alive. So he waits in the base for the owner to return.

When Phil does return, a very tearful reunion ensues.

As for the roles they lean towards, Dan is definitely the builder and Phil is the scavenger. He has rooms full of lockers just for materials he might not even need 'just incase'. Dan makes their combined base look very pretty on the inside ofc. Their seamoths are blue, green and white and black, grey and white respectively bc ofc.

As for figuring things out? I think they both have a fairly decent chance of putting the pieces together, but Dan definitely gets the Sea Emperor visions. Mostly because I think that would be funnier than Phil getting them, considering he's less skeptic than Dan. Meanwhile, Phil was the first up to the quarantine enforcement platform and the one who the Sunbeam got in contact with. They both have bits and pieces and when they meet up they combine their knowledge! :D
