Relief Print 1 and 2 - Seminars

Print can have an artistic and design function, but also a communicative one. Printing played an important role in historical propaganda because its mass production was cheap.

Printing includes many processes such as relief etching, lithographic engraving, mono silkscreen, colography, risoprint, hydroprint, hybrid offset, mezzotint letterpress, digital drypoint, etc.

Printing continues to be an attractive alternative to advertisements, posters, magazines, etc.

My favorite artist given as an example was Kevin Holdaway. I find his relief work amazing through composition, detail and the color of the cityscape. It is surprising how many layers of color the artist had to apply to create the final effect.

I found the seminar very interesting because it showed me so many interesting and creative applications of relief printing.

Collography print workshop!⚪️⚫️

This workshop on Friday with Sophie was about creating layers and textures using the technique of collography this means using shapes and different textures to Create outcomes. Below is the outcome I come up with.

Too Create these long pieces I used foam that I cut out into triangle and small rectangles and stuck them onto a piece of card then used ink over them and transferred them onto the paper. I made sure there was laying in some of them I wanted to exspirment with them too see different outcomes.

Here is a close up of my main outcome use and see the texture I have created.

Here is a close up of one of the shape/prints I made with foam and card it was very effective.

This is my final piece of work I just the other outcome as inspiration and made other outcome with it I use more materials on this one including bubble rap it was very effective and really put the piece of artwork together will also creating nice layers.

Here are pictures of all the tools I used to Crete my outcome overall I am please wit how there come out I also incorporated my theme of the jungle book into it by adding in a leaf shape.

Klarion spun on his heel and began to walk for the door. Holding up a clawed hand his fingers wiggled in a waving motion. “I’m sure I’ll see you later. One way or the other. Oh, before i forget.~”

The clawed gauntlet turned around again, reaching into his pocket he retrieved his wallet. “I believe I promised you something.~” Klarion pulled what looked like a business card out of the wallet and flung it towards the saw. On one side of the black card was holographic red colography stype cursive reading “Klub Kaos” and dorectly under it was the simpler, and slightly smaller, “VIP Card”. Klarion’s signature could be found in silver on the other side.

“There you are. Your one of now four people that have one of those.”

Old print i did. The tecnique used for this print I only know as "Kolografi"... logically it would translate into "Colography"? but I think that that's another word for endoscopy, so that can't be right. Anyways, i used cardboard to make this print.
