• An antique, elegant building built in 1911 in Portuguese style, Coloane Library stood on Rua 5 de Outubro, Coloane. The library was formerly the Coloane Public Elementary School, one of three elementary schools on the outlying islands. Later, the function of the building was changed several times until it was re-modelled as a library in 1983. The library occupies 170 sq. m. and provides 22 seats. It contains some 7,088 volumes, mostly children’s books and popular novels, as well as 49 newspaper titles from different areas and 43 types of magazines. Kesunyian dalam kegaduhan, Coloane Village.

Sebuah desa kecil tersembunyi di Negara Makau, yang bahkan tidak banyak orang tahu dan tertarik, Desa Coloane. Dengan suasana yang sangat berbeda dari Makau, Desa Coloane menawarkan Makau dengan rasa berbeda.

Pembangunan sebagai tempat perjudian yang digadang gadang sebagai Las Vegas Asia membuat Makau dipenuhi dengan bangunan mewah dan megah. Sementara desa coloane, dengan lorong lorong sempit nan menawannya tidak terlalu menjadi perhatian pemerintah Makau. Jejak peninggalan bangsa portugis yang sangat kental menemani saya saat berjalan jalan di petak petak rumah mungil yang sesekali ada lagu berbahasa portugis mengalun dari dalam rumah. 

Sudut sudut eksotisnya membuat saya berharap akan menghabiskan masa di tempat semacam ini. Tenang, damai dan tanpa deadline. Dan mungkin Saat kejenuhan mulai melanda, saya bisa berjalan keluar, menaiki bus dan pergi ke pusat kota makau yang ramai. Keramaian yang kembali membuat rindu akan kesunyian. 

Di sudut Desa Coloane, Membuka cafe bakery kecil dengan menu andalan green tea latte dengan gula sekadarnya dan roti croissant dengan dekorasi cafe tentang perjalanan. Bayangan dan impian. Sekarang bayangan semoga suatu saat menjadi kenyataan. 

Mencicip eggtart Lord Stow yang legendaris, yang nyaris membuat lidah terbakar karena tak sabar untuk memakannya, salah satu hal wajib di sini. Beberapa turis sengaja datang ke Desa Coloane untuk mencicip Egg Tart Lord Stow. Padahal sudah banyak gerai yang buka di Makau. Padahal menurut saya, suasana hati dan suasana tempat yang pas membuat semuannya terasa pas. Seperti sore itu kala berjalan di antara rumah rumah batu dan burung burung kecil menunggu remah remah roti jatuh. Semuanya pas. 

Sambil -masih- berharap semoga suatu saat bertemu dengan Hati yang pas seperti saat ini.

As you know, I love photographing (and traveling to) all kinds of destinations. And I LOVE Asia. But Macao is Asia as you’ve never seen it before. Macao is truly a cross between Asia and Europe with a pinch of Las Vegas when you hit the Cotai Strip. Why? Because Macao was under Portuguese rule for so long and you can see the influence everywhere - in the colorful pastel buildings, in the architecture and… Well hie Macao!
