One year later Chan returned bloodied and covered in dirt with a naked Hyunjin. Chan had spent 13 months searching high and low for the lycan. Chan branded his alpha deep into his mind so he knew who to find. There were many lycans south but he wanted to find Hyunjin. He fought Hyunjin several times but had lost him. The lycan's consciousness was getting more animalistic and Chan found it difficult to pin him down. When he did Chan dragged him to a witch that he bargained with. Seven years ago, Chan would have been disgusted with collaborating with a coven of witches but that night it was all or nothing. He couldn't go back to Straykids knowing he caused his Luna pain. He caused his wolves pain. He almost got his own wolf killed because of his uncle. He couldn't face them without bringing him back. "How do you think they are?" Hyunjin asked tiredly. "I don't know," Chan said honestly.

They weren't good. The first day Y/N was in hysterics. She mourned both of them for weeks. Jeongin was worried they were going to lose the pup to her sadness. Yet they didn't, the pup was growing strong in Y/N's womb. The pup was kicking away, reminding his mother that he loved her. The pup forced Y/N to do better so she got up every day and worked alongside Jeongin to make Straykids strong again. They hacked into Chan's assets to continue them and even started to build a werewolf community for distant werewolves who lacked a pack or wanted to be trained. Minho used his skills as an elder to build the school and even taught them alongside his two best elders who helped build the school. Changbin completed his training at the hospital and built a werewolf hospital with Jaehee so that any werewolves could come if they needed it. It was an anonymous place. Even for lone omegas, they could come here to be treated. Felix and Jisung had built a new play area for the pup with Seungmin who spent most of the time shopping online because he wasn't a builder.

It took them a while to build themselves back up again but with their Luna and new Head Alpha they could do anything. They were much more protective of her. Minho wouldn't let her out of his sight. Jeongin slept with her every night as she carried their child. Jisung babied her with Felix and made sure everything was up to her standards. Seungmin and Changbin were more like guard dogs during the year. Nobody left. Jeongin tried to get Changbin and Seungmin to find Chan but they couldn't. He was gone and they had to accept that. That was the hardest thing for all of them. Losing two alphas for a tragedy.

Chan and Hyunjin walked up to the front door listening to the noises in the house. They could hear Minho scolding them for eating like dogs. They could hear Felix's laughter. They could hear Jeongin's deep voice. They could hear the coos of a baby. A little baby. Their hearts broke as they realised they missed the birth of their firstborn pup. They wanted to know who they were. What their name was. Hyunjin and Chan looked at each other before knocking on the door. "Get the door Changbin," Jeongin ordered. "I'm eating," Changbin said with a mouthful of food. "For ancestors' sake. Take him." Y/N growled. Chan and Hyunjin felt nervous as Y/N's steps came closer to the door. It made them feel nervous.

As soon as Y/N opened the door they gasped, but before they could look at her and the infant in front of her, she shut the door on them. She wasn't ready to see them. When the door opened again it was Jeongin. He looked different. Taller. Muscular. He was looking like a true head alpha. Chan felt undeniably proud of his young alpha. "What are you doing here." Jeongin's voice was gruff. "To say how sorry I am. Truly I am Alpha Jeongin. I had to find Hyunjin and bring him back home. At least let him come in to be treated and then I will leave." Chan promised. He would leave if he didn't belong here. If he was not welcome he would leave. "Come in through the back. I don't want to involve my children." Jeongin said as he shut the door, guiding them to the back door. "Children?" Hyunjin whispered. "Yes. Lucas and Moon. Both boys. Both Apex's." Jeongin said proudly. "Apex." Chan gasped, making Jeongin growl protectively. Chan lowered his head. Even though the firstborn was his, Jeongin had taken responsibility. "If our Luna allows it you can meet them."

Of course, Y/N allowed Chan and Hyunjin to meet them once they were treated, bathed and clothed. She allowed them to meet the tiny apex alphas, once they met her. As soon as they saw her they both dropped to the floor. Chan at her feet, hugging her like a child. He had so many words to say to her and he did. He apologised profusely for everything he did but Y/N refused to hear it. She wasn't angry or hurt anymore. If anything, she was glad he was home back with her. Even Hyunjin apologised but Y/N had no reason to blame him, he was sacrificed because of Joshua. None of it was his fault. Y/N embraced them both tightly for a while before she prepared them to meet Lucas and Moon. "Right. Lucas is very wary of new people. He might not let you hold him but I can try. He doesn't really like Jaehee when she comes around. Moon is sensitive and needs to be close to me or his father's." Y/N said. The two alphas nodded ready to meet them. "Are they all referred to as father?" Hyunjin asked. "Yes. Father Minho. Father Seungmin but Jeongin is just father because Moon is his. It will be the same when this little pup is born, Minho will be just father." Y/N explained. "You're pregnant again?" Chan asked nervously. "Every time they breathe on me I'm miraculously pregnant." Y/N sighed. "Alright let's try Lucas first."

It was a sweet moment when Chan met his son who was being held by Seungmin. Seungmin carefully placed the one-year-old into his arms, confusing Lucas with the stranger. Lucas looked up confused at who this stranger was, but he didn't cry or scream like he normally did. Instead, he froze looking at his fathers for help, but when he saw his mother's smile at the stranger he relaxed. Y/N picked up the infant Moon and showed him to his older brother who giggled. Lucas wanted to grab Moon seeing his little brother smile. Y/N past Moon did Hyunjin with Jeongin's approval but Hyunjin looked petrified. He didn't know how to hold an infant but he learned quickly. It was bittersweet because despite how cute these baby Apex's look. They were going to stick to Hyunjin's orders and become a nuisance in the future as soon as they were presented as Alphas.

Chan redeemed himself but became the third alpha. He didn't remove Jeongin from his position instead he adapted so he could spend more time with Lucas. Hyunjin kept his position and became even more protective of Y/N as he tried to recreate the bond that was broken. He wanted to be exceptionally close to her. The other wolves worked hard on their projects. The school was running fine and when the boys were older they would join. Changbin and Jaehee had bought a plot of land down the road to build their hospital. Jisung, Felix and Seungmin worked on assets so they didn't need to do anything big. Hyunjin on the other hand became an art teacher for the students and employed other art teachers who he vetted. So, it is a happy ending after all.

"Lastly, I would like us all to consider some important tasks for the present historical moment, since we desire a positive change for the benefit of all our brothers and sisters. We know this. We desire change enriched by the collaboration of governments, popular movements, and other social forces. This too we know. But it is not so easy to define the content of change -- in other words, a social program which can embody this project of fraternity and justice which we are seeking. So don't expect a recipe from this Pope. Neither the Pope nor the Church have a monopoly on the interpretation of social reality or the proposal of solutions to contemporary issues. I dare say that no recipe exists. History is made by each generation as it follows in the footsteps of those preceding it, as it seeks its own path and respects the values which God has placed in the human heart.

I would like, all the same, to propose three great tasks which demand a decisive and shared contribution from popular movements:

The first task is to put the economy at the service of peoples. Human beings and nature must not be at the service of money. Let us say NO to an economy of exclusion and inequality, where money rules, rather than service. That economy kills. That economy excludes. That economy destroys Mother Earth.

The economy should not be a mechanism for accumulating goods, but rather the proper administration of our common home. This entails a commitment to care for that home and to the fitting distribution of goods among all. It is not only about ensuring a supply of food or "decent sustenance". Nor, although this is already a great step forward, is it to guarantee the three "L's" of Land, Lodging, and Labor for which you are working. A truly communitarian economy, one might say an economy of Christian inspiration, must ensure people's dignity and their "general, temporal welfare and prosperity." This includes the three "L's", but also access to education, health care, new technologies, artistic and cultural manifestations, communications, sports and recreation. A just economy must create the conditions for everyone to be able to enjoy a childhood without want, to develop their talents when young, to work with full rights during their active years and to enjoy a dignified retirement as they grow older. It is an economy where human beings, in harmony with nature, structure the entire system of production and distribution in such a way that the abilities and needs of each individual find suitable expression in social life. You, and other peoples as well, sum up this desire in a simple and beautiful expression: 'to live well'.

Such an economy is not only desirable and necessary, but also possible. It is no utopia or chimera. It is an extremely realistic prospect. We can achieve it. The available resources in our world, the fruit of the intergenerational labors of peoples, and the gifts of creation, more than suffice for the integral development of "each man and the whole man". The problem is of another kind. There exists a system with different aims. A system which, while irresponsibly accelerating the pace of production, while using industrial and agricultural methods which damage Mother Earth in the name of "productivity", continues to deny many millions of our brothers and sisters their most elementary economic, social, and cultural rights. This system runs counter to the plan of Jesus…

Along this path, popular movements play an essential role, not only by making demands and lodging protests, but even more basically by being creative. You are social poets: creators of work, builders of housing, producers of good, above all for people left behind by the world market….

Governments which make it their responsibility to put the economy at the service of peoples must promote the strengthening, improvement, coordination, and expansion of these forms of popular economy and communitarian production. This entails bettering the processes of work, providing adequate infrastructures, and guaranteeing workers their full rights in this alternative sector. When the state and social organizations join in working for the three "L's", the principles of solidarity and subsidiarity come into play; and these allow the common good to be achieved in a full and participatory democracy.

The second task is to unite our peoples on the path of peace and justice.

The world's peoples want to be artisans of their own destiny. They want to advance peacefully towards justice. They do not want forms of tutelage or interference by which those with greater power subordinate those with less. They want their culture, their language, their social processes, and their religious traditions to be respected. No actual or established power has the right to deprive peoples of the full exercise of their sovereignty. Whenever they do so, we see the rise of new forms of colonialism which seriously prejudice the possibility of peace and justice. For "peace is founded not only on respect for human rights but also on respect for the rights of peoples, in particular the right to independence.”…

Similarly, the monopolizing of the communications media, which would impose alienating examples of consumerism and a certain cultural uniformity, is another one of the forms taken by the new colonialism. It is ideological colonialism. As the African bishops have observed, poor countries are often treated like "parts of a machine, cogs on a gigantic wheel."

It must be acknowledged that none of the grave problems of humanity can be resolved without interaction between states and peoples at the international level. Every significant action carried out in one part of the planet has universal, ecological, social, and cultural repercussions. Even crime and violence have become globalized. Consequently, no government can act independently of a common responsibility. If we truly desire positive change, we have to humbly accept our interdependence. Interaction, however, is not the same as imposition; it is not the subordination of some to serve the interests of others. Colonialism, both old and new, which reduces poor countries to mere providers of raw material and cheap labor, engenders violence, poverty, forced migrations, and all the evils that go hand-in-hand with these, precisely because, by placing the periphery at the service of the center, it denies those countries the right to an integral development. That is inequality, and inequality generates a violence which no police, military, or intelligence resources can control.

Let us say NO to forms of colonialism, old and new. Let us say YES to the encounter between peoples and cultures. Blessed are the peacemakers.

Here I wish to bring up an important issue. Some may rightly say, "When the Pope speaks of colonialism, he overlooks certain actions of the Church." I say to you this: many grave sins were committed against the native peoples of America in the name of God. My predecessors acknowledged this, CELAM has said it, and I too wish to say it. Like Saint John Paul II, I ask that the Church "kneel before God and implore forgiveness for the past and present sins of her sons and daughters." I would also say, and here I wish to be quite clear, as was Saint John Paul II: I humble ask forgiveness, not only for the offenses of the Church herself, but also for crimes committed against the native peoples during the so-called conquest of America.

I also ask everyone, believers and non-believers alike, to think of those many bishops, priests, and laity who preached and continue to preach the Good News of Jesus with courage and meekness, respectfully and pacifically; who left behind them impressive works of human promotion and love, often standing alongside the native peoples or accompanying their popular movements even to the point of martyrdom. The Church, her sons and daughters, are part of the identity of the peoples of Latin America. An identity which here, as in other countries, some powers are committed to erasing, at times because our faith is revolutionary, because our faith challenges the tyranny of mammon. Today we are dismayed to see how in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world many of our brothers and sisters are persecuted, tortured, and killed for their faith in Jesus. This too needs to be denounced: in this third world war, waged piecemeal, which we are now experiencing, a form of genocide is taking place, and it must end.

To our brothers and sisters in the Latin American indigenous movement, allow me to express my deep affection and appreciation of their efforts to bring peoples and cultures together in a form of coexistence which I would call polyhedric, where each group preserves its own identity by building together a plurality which does not threaten but rather reinforces unity. Your quest for an interculturalism, which combines the defense of the rights of the native peoples with respect for the territorial integrity of states, is for all of us a source of enrichment and encouragement.

The third task, perhaps the most important facing us today, is to defend Mother Earth.

Our common home is being pillaged, laid waste, and harmed with impunity. Cowardice in defending it is a grave sin. We see with growing disappointment how one international summit after another takes place without any significant result. There exists a clear, definite, and pressing ethical imperative to implement what has not yet been done. We cannot allow certain interests -- interests which are global, but not universal -- to take over, to dominate states and international organizations, and to continue destroying creation. People and their movements are called to cry out, to mobilize, and to demand -- peacefully, but firmly -- that appropriate and urgently-needed measures be taken. I ask you, in the name of God, to defend Mother Earth. I have duly addressed this in my Encyclical Letter, Laudato Si'.

In conclusion, I would like to repeat: the future of humanity does not lie solely in the hands of great leaders, the great powers, and the elites. It is fundamentally in the hands of peoples and in their ability to organize. It is in their hands, which can guide with humility and conviction this process of change. I am with you. Let us together say from the heart: no family without lodging, no individual without dignity, no child without childhood, no young person without a future, no elderly person without a venerable old age. Keep up your struggle and, please, take great care of Mother Earth. I pray for you and with you, and I ask God our Father to accompany you and to bless you, to fill you with his love and defend you on your way by granting you in abundance that strength which keeps us on our feet: that strength is hope, the hope which does not disappoint. Thank you and I ask you, please, to pray for me."

Hiii Tiny Fwends! 😁💖 So I beens playing lots of Minecraft n decided I wanted to share my world! There's so much to show! I has a whole city n I building n amusement park.. but let's not get ahead yets.. da area I gons be showing today is called

Hermit Hollow:

When I first started playing on dis world it was strictly survival n it shows in dis area. But I like it dat way. Traveling to other areas of my map yous can see how da area n my building skills develops. Dis first little town isn't dat impressive but I loves it sooo muchies! Fun fact: it's named after da Hermits from Hermitcraft which are Minecraft gamers on YouTube and Twitch. Goodtimeswithscar is my favorite but dey are all amazing builders n dey fun to watch too. I highly recommend dem!

Fishie Hut:

Dis was actually my starter house in da world n now dat I live in another city in my world dis is my glorified fishie fishie hut, featuring my peek-a-boo puppy Bart n his house! Dis basically used for storage for my fishie supplies now but it's still my favorite fishie fishie spot wiff my favorite fishie rod called Treasure Hunter.

Farms:

Every groot starter town needs a good farm especially in survival mode and Hermit Hollow is no different. Here we has all da foods n aminals (except chickies are behinds da fishie hut) n in da back all da trees n other stuffs! Dis leads to da sheepies... dey are located up at

Tim's Tower:

Tim's Tower complete wiff sheepies n a blue sheepie named Tim (he showing his sheepie behind here hehe) is where I keeps my farm foods storage. My fwend be using dis a lot for pumpkie pies!

Hermit Hollow Mines:

Dis is da entrance to my mines... one day gons has a crane lifting supplies up to a train station but I not there yets.. Dis opened up to a huge cave system n insides I has a simple manual mushroom farm (many a battles happen in there) n I also have a mob dropper for XP collection n mob drops. I also has da first "machine" in da world which is a baby auto smelter

Here at Cured Collaborations I has two healed villagers. Meet Frank n Curtis! At some point I want to have dem "free roaming" in an underground city in da mines but dats a work in progress, as is da backstory of why...

Hermit Hollow also has two tiny homes for sale. These are open for fwends who join my world or potentially used for backstory/storyline characters. I love creating back stories and lore in my Minecraft worlds!

In light of the Minecraft movie trailer coming out I wanted to spread some positive vibes.

What's your favourite part about Minecraft and how would you have shown it through a movie format?

I'll go first :D

The building community-

I've been learning a lot about the building community recently and I adore the way each individual thinks and how they collaborate with others.

I would love to show the breathtaking feeling of entering a large build (by getting a high angle shot that pans as the actor enters the doorway). Their voice echoes as they speak reverently giving that feeling you get when you walk into a church. Columns move across the screen and the actor can't help but smile. It feels cheesy until the camera moves to their pov, you look up and suddenly you see all the details. There is life in the thoughtfully placed patterns and materials. Light streams in through the windows drawing your attention to the back wall where a statue or mural lays. The effect is similar to having shaders on in the game. The audience can't help smiling like they'd seen the actor do and there's a level of magic to the music. It's a respectful scene and it holds long enough for the builder to enter the room. They laugh, happy to take up space in their own home. They greet the actor pleased to have them in their space. The actor can't help commenting on the build even as the builder is ready to lead them away (to give them the item they need or introduce them to the person that can help them on their journey). The builder looks around proud but also seeming to have forgotten the beauty of their own creation. They walked these halls every day, this was their base. They smiled and looked over their favourite details. They explained how long it took (months) and how they gathered the resources with input from their friends on how to get the effect they wanted. They always took inspiration from others. Their community was the best. The builder turned and smiled at the actor. "You'll love them" And you get the sense you will. The people had been so nice to the actor as they moved through the city. Even though they were on a mission (I'd probably make the plot linear like finishing the game. They need to gather items to get to the next dimension and from there they would get closer to going back to their own world), the actor feels a sense of peace in this place where the landscape was changed to suit the people. They get the help they were looking for and their needs are attended to as the builders have a surplus of resources. They stay the night and there's no monsters nearby. There's no cause for concern. They move on the next day to continue on their mission.

The first night-

It's been a really long time since I played Minecraft for the first time and experienced the first night. I watched some youtubers who had never played the game before be woefully unprepared for nightfall. There was a lot of screaming.. they died a lot. Panting and throwing dirt down to hide behind, they boxed themselves in on instinct and waited for the mobs to go away. They never did... The mobs rattled and moaned outside and with every peak to check if the coast was clear a mob would jumpscare them. Time ticked by slowly. Nights feel really long when you have no bed and nothing to do. Nearly all the new players said Minecraft could be a horror game. I never thought of it as one but you could really lean into that fear of the first night. Startling when you see a creeper, getting blown up for the first time and freaking out. Not knowing what an Enderman was and as you made the mistake of looking at it the thing screamed and teleported to you. The rattle of Enderman even as you were hiding in your dirt hut, sometimes the distress of the creature stealing a piece of your house! That could be a really good scene or even a fairly large part of the movie. As the main character emerged during the day they would be gathering resources and stressing about the next night. I would make a montage of three or four nights of failing before they finally started getting the hang of it and eventually got a bed not realising that saved them the whole nights stress.

Welcome, one and all, to the second season of the Hermitcitizen Overseer and the tenth of Hermitcraft itself! There are scenanigans aplenty waiting for us in the upcoming season, so let's not hesitate to get going!

Bookwatch

This season, in an attempt to not use trading systems, Grian has decided to try and fish up a book of mending to use for enchanting. 

Until recently, he has had little luck catching the elusive mending books, although he had caught several other enchanted books. Additionally, (as of writing) Grian has managed to catch roughly 6500 fish-the majority of which have been cod-, Nautilus shells, fishing rods and bows with various enchantments, and saddles, all to various degrees of usefulness.

Statistically, there is generally a 1.9% chance of catching an Enchanted book while fishing, with a 0.015% chance of catching a mending book! Meaning that, supposedly for every 100 times Grian casts his line, he should catch 2 books, and if he catches 127 books, he should be able to find two mending books. 

In addition, Grian built a Cod Dungeon, complete with a secret entrance, and statues decorating the walls, even a special painting by Hoffen in an attempt to raise his chances of catching a mending book, officially named the Chamber of Sea Critters. 

Finally, after over nine thousand attempts, Grian was able to fish up a mending book, specifically with Piercing 3 and mending, and he has decided to instead trade for the rest of the books he needs.

Hermit Permits

This season, shops, and what you will be selling has been decided by various permits, distributed randomly. Each hermit has received six permits, of various value. The three tiers are iron, gold, and diamond, with each hermit receiving three iron permits, two gold, and one diamond permit. This means that only one Hermit is able to sell any given item (that there is an existing permit for).

For some items, such as wood, glass or wool, hermits are required to build a shop with those who received a permit in the same category as them (for example, all hermits who received a permit for wood will be building a shop together), with these shops being either collaborative, competitive or anything in between!

Additionally, as the winner of demise, False Symmetry was awarded a Joker permit, giving her the ability to pick an item to sell at any time. This special permit can only be used once, and has not yet been put into play. 

A Small(Ishbeans) Introduction! By Roo

This season, we welcomed another two hermits- Skizzleman, and Smallishbeans. While an article for Skizz is anticipated and hoped for, this one is about none other than Joel Smallishbeans. 

First, let’s get you acquainted, shall we? Joel Smallishbeans- often called Joel Beans, Bean, Big Man, or just plain Joel- is a British YouTuber who, other than the green streak in the hair of his minecraft skin, can be recognized as “That One Guy Who Used To Be Shrek”*. A former member of both of the seasons of Empires SMP, as well as other servers such as the life series (he won Last Life in our hearts), or KingdomCraft, way back when, Joel is renowned for making buildings and areas that take immense amounts of time, effort, and skill, as well as the absolute beast he is at PVP. (Yes, we are aware this article would boost his ego immensely. That’s alright.) From the giant spires of the Mazalean Palace to the looming castles of his hardcore world, to the beginnings of his Hermitcraft base, it’s easy to say that Joel is a legendary builder that’ll be at home on Hermitcraft. 

As for how his Hermitcraft is going- other than the multitude of failed attempts to kill XBCrafted, and the one successful attempt (yes, that took 74 TNT), everything seems to be going well for our favorite bean man. He already has a glow squid farm that works- well, it works- in addition to a lovely road, four buildings, and his first Hermitcraft diamond hanging proudly on the wall. His build style, a mixture of traditional Japanese architecture and a modern-cyberpunk-ish-vibe, seems to involve an astounding level of detail, which is impressive in and of itself, and also in the lag that is generated. Those glowing signs may have to decrease sometime through the season.

Of course, seeing as it’s Hermitcraft, shenanigans are bound to ensue, and from the past, we know Joel is one who will never back down from a good shenanigan. Those twelve kills in Last Life didn’t get themselves, after all. His neighbors, whom he has dubbed the Magic Mountaineers- Grian, Mumbo, Scar, Gem, Impulse, Skizz, and himself- are all settled around one big cherry blossom mountain (hence the name), and with Hermits that close together, we know that mischief is already brewing, pranks are being planned, and friendly rivalries formed.

No matter where the season goes for him, Joel seems to have an amazing start to this season, and for any of you who are considering giving him a watch, we would highly recommend- his sarcasm, skill, and hatred for Minecraft chickens and horses are hard to forget, and many a good time is had over on the Smallishbeans channel.

Skizzleman, the man, the myth the legend.

Skizzleman is one of the new members of Hermitcraft Season 10. As you saw Mr Beans introduced in another article it is now Skizzleman’s turn. Now most people may not know what Skizzleman has done before Hermitcraft, so here is a run down. 

Skizzleman is part of the Z.I.T.S, aka Zedaph. Impulse. Tango. Skizzleman. These four have been creating videos together for a while. The first series that Impulse and Skizzleman created together is “Naked and Scared” which was and continues to be a unique spin on the genre of Hardcore. 

 For the wider audience, you may know Skizzleman from the hit series “The Life Series”. While Skizzleman has never won any series he has always left a resounding echo within each character he has portrayed. This often creates a very emotional ending to each series. He always commits to the bit, even to the character's demise. 

Another place you may know Skizzleman from is the GIGS Phasmophobia streams, or the 2020 Assorted Hermits(and Skizzleman) Among Us Streams. Both of the streams are different in the dynamics that they invoke. The streams are memorable and cemented in the viewer's hearts that Skizzleman was already a Hermit way before his invite. 

In other endeavours he runs a podcast with ImpulseSV called the “Imp and Skizz podcast”. Within this podcast, they discuss a variety of topics such as: how they became friends, parenting, what makes a great leader, and other big philosophical topics. They also have special guests such as Geminitay, Xisumavoid, Evan and Kate, and others. On this podcast, Impulse also proposed to Skizzleman about joining Hermitcraft. 

They now have started the season and with that new connections are being formed. As of current Skizzleman has a starter base which is lovingly called “Skizz’s Crack”. He is staying in the area with fellow hermits  Grian, SmallishBeans, GoodTimesWithScar, ImpulseSV, Mumbo Jumbo, and GeminiTay. He is currently creating a pyramid. We at the Overseer wish him well on his journey to creating joy within people's hearts.

Christopher, Justin, and Ryan are members of the Gargoyle Order, soldiers fighting in the angels war against the demonic supernatural evils of the world to protect human kind. Through the years they lost comrades and now just the three of them remain in their little town. They have long since been abandoned by the angel that had been sworn to keep them safe and protect them during the day while they were trapped in stone.

Now, Ricky and Vinny are moving into their church to renovate and live in the space due to Ricky always found it as home as a child, stirring up old and new feelings, along with the past, posing the challenge of navigating this new chapter in their lives.

Can they navigate this path successfully and break free of the prisons that is their lives of both stone and flesh, or will they all be trapped forever in a world that could prove to be a constant misery?

Outside of the church was mostly silent other than the soft noises of people talking and construction. It was a mild day at least. The roof had been fixed up and supports had been reinforced. People had been in and out of the church for weeks but now… This was a different sound. People moving in. Part of the church had been turned into an apartment-like space. Three bedrooms… and a kitchen and living room. It was nice at least and the Rectory had even had some work, plumbing replaced, fresh paint, and heating and cooling throughout the entire building.

Now, a black-haired man drifted into the building with a warm smile, blue eyes twinkling and shining as he carried a cardboard box labeled ‘kitchen’. He was followed by a curly red and brown-haired person wearing jeans and a t-shirt that hugged their masculine frame beautifully. “Ricky wait up- Holy shit it’s pretty in here- wait am I allowed to cuss? This was a church-”

“You can cuss. The gargoyles have heard me cuss enough when i was younger-” he said, stopping to wait for his companion, before looking up towards the rafters not seeing the gargoyles right away. Though when he spotted them near the altar- covered with some light graffiti he scowled rushing to them and set down the box, moving to get some soap and water and a brush. “Fuck- Vinny- Can you help me? Shit-shit-” he mumbled softly scrubbing away the graffiti, cupping Loyalty’s face gently, “Hey- Hey i came home. I’m here- Let’s get you cleaned up, Loyalty… Trust you’re next.” he insisted.

Vinny’s green eyes widened in shock seeing Ricky’s concern and they rushed over, quickly moving to help by starting on the worst- Responsibility. “So… these are your friends you told me about?” they asked looking at Ricky curiously.

The raven-haired man nodded, happy to see Loyalty’s face free of paint and staining. “Yeah. Loyalty, Trust, and Responsibility. That’s Responsibility you’re working on.” He explained, smiling softly up at Loyalty petting his cheek. “Guys this is Vinny, she’s my friend I made in Washington.” His voice was deeper, and his smile was just as sweet as when he was younger. He moved to scrub Trust of paint, his hand falling from Loyaltys cheek gently as he did.

Christopher had been irate when the construction had finally started. Finally, considering the builders and architects had been coming and going through their home for weeks prior to any work to their space being actually done, and to make matters worse… it didn’t actually scare off the teenagers. Some time back, it had become a popular dare for the local hooligans to see who could get in here, climb up to the rafters, and tag one of the gargoyles in the most inappropriate way.

The ones that had managed to crawl underneath them and managed to tag their groins certainly had reached the top of the list. The problem was, being able to wash away the graffiti from their stone forms was extremely difficult. They couldn’t move when they were stone, what were they to do, transform in the river and way for the water to rush by long enough to wash the dried paintaway? It didn’t work, and it didn’t disappear when they shifted back and forth.

Now, seeing these two moving into their home after desecrating the church by, by completely changing it. Their home, while holy ground to them, following the edicts of the angels, admittedly hadn’t been a place of worship for a long time. These humans coming in and tearing it apart, changing everything, it had Christopher seething from the moment they first stepped in here with their equipment, that was even before they started moving in today.

Then there was the two that came up to platforms where they were perched in their stone prisons, still, trapped and unable to move in the light of day. The voices, the voices had already drifted up here long before they did, hearing the other call him Ricky, and Justin seeing him once they’d climbed up here from that apartment space.. He knew it was him. It was Ricky. He’d come home.

Stone eyes watched Ricky as his soft touch scrubbed at the markings on the stone skin of his face. He looked, his smile just as it always was, there was no missing that. Though, he sounded different.. A good different. He sounded happy.

Vinny. Christopher blinking at this female that was cleaning him, her touch scrubbing at some of the multitude of markings that covered him. He did bear the brunt of the markings, his pride of place more prominent than Loyalty and Trust, he was the commander of the unit, and his placement showed it. In turn became the prime target for shenanigans. Did he question her muscular frame with her jeans and shirt, no, stone eyes merely regarded her curiously, still, refusing to be pleased at their presence.. Ricky, how could you do this to their home?

Ryan was in absolute disagreement with Christopher to his frustration to the updating to their home. With how long it had been since anyone of true honest religious intent had stepped foot on these grounds, it was about time someone put the holy ground to good use once more. To them, it would always be holy ground, because their work, was always going to be in the name of the angels. As long as they resided here, and still functioned in fighting their war on their behalf, they did their duty.. As long as they breathed, they fought.

Trust they would always fight, and Ryan, he trusted, and he hoped others would trust him just as much. He was glad to have Ricky home.

Ricky was scrubbing Trust free of the paint now soothingly humming to them. “I'm going to take some pictures of the gargoyles and find a better place for them. I was thinking the Rectory so that they wont be as accessible-” Ricky babbled sweetly with a grin as he worked finally getting the last of the paint off of Trust.

“I think the rectory would be perfect. Is that why you put in the window so we can check on them sometimes?” Vinny asked kneeling as she scrubbed the rest of Responsibility without much thought as movers moved some of their stuff up into their apartment across from the rectory.

The Rectory. It was where they retreated enough as it was, it was how they got cleaned up when some of their battles got, messy. If they couldn’t find other means. Of course, it was easier to use since the place had been abandoned and was no longer used to house the local parish priest. Ryan found it curious that Ricky would put them in there, however he was, it would be a place that could be closed off from the rest of the church opposed to here, and unbeknownst to him, had perfect balcony for them to fly from when they head out on patrol. They could come and go as they needed to continue their work, and it would be far less having to hide from the mortals down below in the church open space.

“Precisely. I figured it’d be nice for them to have a space just for them.” Ricky explained gently. “I'll arrange for the construction workers to help move them up to the rectory.”

Christopher wasn’t listening to Ricky, he was trying to focus on anything else but what was happening around him. Nope, not listen, he was thinking of battle strategy, and the report on the rogue vampire pack that had been trolling the east side of town last night that Justin had brought back to him that they needed to follow up on. Yes, that was what he was attempting to focus on, anything but the way Vinny’s scrubbing brush was moving over his skin underneath his belly. No, his body couldn’t physically react in his stone form, but he could feel every single stroke of that rough brush against the thick porous skin.

Ricky stepped back and noticed what Vinny was doing, sliding down to scrub Trust's crotch first, his eyes wide when he noticed there were actually… dick and balls. “Oh shit… well. Let's get you cleaned up. Loyalty, I'll help you shortly. Trust doesn't have as much paint down here i dont think.”

Trust wasn't too big but thick at least making ricky blush. He was grateful he had never noticed until now.

Vinny giggled and smiled softly, “it was a nice surprise.” She commented with a smirk as Ricky scrubbed away.

A nice surprise. A nice surprise, that was what the female said of scrubbing Christopher’s groin. Oh boy. It was blessing that is was mid afternoon and the sun was still out, forcing them to be rigid as stone, and not in the way that would make what the pair was doing to them even more embarrassing. It was a blessing, because hearing the way this Vinny just giggled like that and said it was a nice surprise, would have had him falling over with laughter, there would be no hiding, even trying to keep his stone form.. Thousands of years of keeping the secret wasted over two mortals scrubbing his commanders cock of graffitti. Oh, the angels. This was priceless.

Justin was no better, he was no better, until he remembered something, Ricky said he would be going next.

Shit.

He moved back to Loyalty finally and blushed seeing exactly what Loyalty had been packing compared to Trust. Oh. Oh. He swallowed cheeks burning as his mouth watered, “oh fuck I would take you in a heart beat if you were erect.” He mumbled.

It would be their home, along with being a coffee shop during the day and a bar at night. He had found a beautiful old bar that would be perfect for both and fit into the decor perfectly.

It would be a few more weeks until it was fully ready to open but Vinny had been delighted at the thought of opening the business. Seeing that joy alone was priceless to him… Beautiful and endearing… how could he resist?

He tied his long hair back up into a bun as he worked and helped with some of the smaller details in the apartment. It was beautiful and perfect in his mind. This was and would be his only home. I promise.”

He left, flipping off the lights leaving the gargoyles alone with the beverages as the sun began to fully dip below the horizon. “Oh. And every day I finish my work I’m going to leave some drinks for you all to enjoy. The coasters will be moved to the bar.

Then there was the soft click of the door shutting and the sound of his footsteps clicking down the stairs.

Thank you! I tend to prefer using Instagram these days compared to Pinterest. During my remodel IRL (which TBH is still on-going, and I feel like it will never be done, lol) I found Instagram to be very useful in terms of sourcing local vendors, landscapers, architects, etc. They will usually have their own Instagram pages and websites showcasing their portfolios.

I have also been visiting a lot of local home parades from the luxury custom builders in my area which is always great for inspiration. I will take pictures in person to refer to later.

I have been collecting architectural books too. Patrick Ahearn is the architect of most of the Dutch Colonial and Cape Cod builds that are popular on Pinterest and then by default, simblr. Historical Concepts is another prevalent firm. McAlpine, Charles Hilton, Olson Kundig, Eric Olsen, Amber Lewis, Studio McGee/McGee&Co, etc. are all very popular. I have always loved RH and the designers that they collaborate with. One of the nice things about referring to the actual firms behind these builds is that on their Instagram they will link every firm that was involved in creating the project, such as their interior designer, the contracted builder, the landscape firm, etc. You can go down the rabbit hole and expose yourself to new and less “popular” accounts so you're absorbing a broader range of influences versus the same derivative content over and over again.
