I just need every single person in this fandom who has ever been mean about Luke Newton to know that Nicola Coughlan hates you. Genuinely and wholeheartedly.

She hates you. Sure, she won't say it aloud, because she's a professional who knows her career lives or dies by fans, but please know that she does. She hates you if you've said Colin gave you the ick, especially so if you said it to Luke, she hates you if you've left a rude comment on his social media, she hates you if you acted like she didn't like him or that she was shading him, she hates you if you bullied the people around him, she hates you if you said something disparaging about how he looks or how he acts, she. hates. you.

And sure, it's not all people who are in her or Pen's fanbase, in fact a lot of people have been cruel about him outside of the Polin fandom, but a LOT of people are Pen fans, and hearing her talking about how defensive she gets over him when people say something rude about him? And knowing there are SO many stupid opinion blogs and youtubers and tiktokers who say they're Pen fans and Nicola fans but are mean as fuck about Luke?

I need every single one of them, in particular those who have been out here making up stupid shit to be mad at him about 'on her behalf' to know that when you say something mean about the man she gushed to her Mum about, and who her Mum was so excited to meet because she just knew he was kind, the man she introduced to her entire family, the man she is always reaching for and hugging and snuggling up to and calling wonderful and giggling around and saying how she wouldn't want to do such vulnerable intimate scenes without and complimenting and leaning on and having fun with and calling a special person in her life, she is taking off her earrings and ready to meet you outside in his honor

because she hates you for being a dick about him. hope that clears things up

Birdsong fills the air, a warm but pleasant breeze caressing Rusl’s face as he sits on the front stairs of his home. The scent of biscuits wafts out from the open door as Uli cooks, humming cheerily. Hana is with Colin, who is showing her all the frogs along the river while Link rests on his belly in the grass, watching Sera’s cat stalk some prey.

Rusl finds peace in little moments like this. He rubs his knuckles mindlessly, numbing out the sting from little cuts he acquired while working on a sword today. He smiles as he sees a wisp of straw in the boy’s hair, a dead giveaway that Link laid around at the ranch between chores to spend time with the goats. Hana is squealing excitedly while Colin holds a little frog in his hand, both equally thrilled with their find. The entire day is a welcome reprieve.

Rusl leans his head back, smiling up at the sky, thanking Ordona for protecting them, thanking Farore for making this beautiful land and his beautiful family.

It’s good to be home.

I don’t think this is good by ANY MEANS. But I don’t think it’s terrible for my first try in a WHILE, either.

Anyway, I ✨attempted✨ sketching Colin Bridgerton (or a period romance dude like him lol, Colin’s just my favorite), but I think I need lessons. Or like…I should take an art elective or go to a nearby art studio to learn how to do this shit.

Like…it’s not terrible?? I just haven’t seen a lot of the fan art I want to see, so if I’m not seeing it, I should make it myself right? But I am like…NOT CONFIDENT IN MY ART ABILITIES.

A scene in the locker room in which Colin makes some comment about how much he likes women, the kind of comment that was making Trent Crimm raise his eyebrows, but now we get to see Isaac's look when he does it?

Confusion. A mild bit of disgust at his friend lying so blatently. Frustration both at Colin and for Colin at having to say stuff like that. Uncertainty at how he feels about everything. He doesn't get it. He doesn't like it. He doesn't know why.

A scene in which some fan is mad that Richmond isn't doing well and screams something homophobic either at Colin or any other player during a match, and Isaac just. Loses. His. Shit.

He hasn't even been talking to Colin at this point, hasn't been playing well with him, but he just can't let that fly. He gets a red card. He sees Colin doing nothing to defend himself and wants to shake him. Wants to scream at him to clap back at these assholes. Wants to hug him to make him feel better. Je just walks away instead.

A scene in which Isaac at home and a younger sibling or someone makes a comment using the exact words Isaac himself has said "that's a bit gay bruv" as a throw away comment and it makes Isaac flinch. But when he asks that person to stop it they now get mad and accuse Isaac of being gay...and suddenly Isaac just gets it. Gets why Colin couldn't tell him or anyone else.

He's still angry. He's said those words before. He's just as bad as the fan he attacked. Isaac's hurt his friend over and over and over again. He punched that man over and over and wishes Colin woukd do that to him because he deserves it. But Colin never did and now Isaac gets why...

A scene in which it's just Colin and Isaac, and Isaac tries to hold out his fist, to bump, to be brothers again, but Colin flinches instead. Isaac drops his fist, angrier than ever at himself.

A scene right after where Isaac yells at the team to get their attention, and makes an announcement that the team isn't going to say that shit anymore. He doesn't explain much, mostly just glares at the team until they start nodding. Somehow everybody gets what he's saying.

And Colin walks in as it's happening. He watches Isaac answer their questions and defend queer people. He hears Isaac apologize to them all for ever saying stuff like that and not taking care of it sooner.

And when Isaac waits until everyone else has left the locker room and it's just him and Colin again Isaac says "Sorry, bruv. I've been a real idiot," and Colin nods holding his own fist out so relieved to be ok...

And Isaac pulls him in for a hug instead.
