For her Bridgerton S3 promo appearance in Galway City, Nicola Coughlan wore a custom crochet top by Galway designer Colin Burke.
Full marks for making adventurous fashion choices, and I love the sleeves (a Burke signature), but the front just doesn't fit - the bra bit really isn't doing those perfect breasts justice, the waistband is baggy, and you can see her shapewear through the cutout!
I wonder if the round shapes of the bra cups are a reference to the traditional crocheted buttons made for Irish crochet garments?

you never know true rarepair pain until you're overcome with brainrot for the relationship between two characters in a bbc crime miniseries that are involved in one single episode and never seen again. poirot does this to me everytime. don't even get me started on marple. there are couples in these shows that have an acumulative six minutes of total screentime and i have thought about them for years
#agatha christie’s poirot#this post specifically inspired by colin race and sheila webb in the clocks episode of poirot#crazy relationship dynamic to never mention again. man visibly projecting his guilt over the death of his fiance + girl with world's worst#daddy AND mommy issues who is also prime suspect for the murder of this random dude for like ninety percent of their encounters#and it makes me FERAL. somehow it works#like. you'd think him being 5 days out from the brutal death of his fiance would mean i'd be uninvested in his new romance#but u would think WRONG bc i eat this up it hits every time. young tom burke in 30s fashion i have nothing appropriate to say abt this man#[also i projected heavily onto sheila webb as an impressionable eight year old with DEEP cptsd and now i can't go back]

@beatingheart-bride
"Hmm? O-Oh, yes, my heart," Randall smiled, having snapped out of his stupor upon hearing her whisper in his ear enough to return to the conversation, taking Emily's hand to kiss as he assured, "I'm...I'm fine."
Truthfully, his head was reeling from all of this new family suddenly showing up out of the blue, and he was a little unsure of what to say or think. Of course, it felt good to see his parents happy; Wilhelm was thrilled, beaming from ear to ear as he caught up with his brothers, while June was showing off her humble wedding ring to her parents as she filled them in on her life following their passing...it was a sweet sight to see, considering how lonesome their lives were in New Orleans, with very few friends and no family to turn to...
And of course, it was good to see the children were being welcomed too: Lon was clearly thrilled to meet another set of twins like him and his sister, and Erika, well...he understood. It was a lot to take in, a lot of new and unfamiliar faces, even with the knowledge that they were kin, and so he couldn't blame her for being a little shy around them. He just hoped, given enough time, a little patience, she'd become more comfortable around them.
And to be quite honest, he hoped he'd become comfortable around them too, given a little time-it was just so...surreal, meeting his grandparents, his uncles, people he only ever saw in portraits, heard about in stories relayed to him by his folks, people he never dreamed he'd ever meet. And all he could think in regards to that was:
What do they think of...me?
But he tried not to dwell on that notion, in favor of holding his wife's hand and taking another sip of coffee, smiling politely at his grandmother's enthusiasm ("Oh, we have another sewing aficionado in the family! Isn't that exciting, August?") as he tried to keep his head from spinning off like a runaway top.
#((!!!))#((that's extremely touching to hear! as you said; it's defidently early))#((but to know that you wouldn't say no to the burke's moving into the mansion permanently))#((as well as have colin and callahan visit again; that means a lot to me to hear! i don't want to jinx anything))#((again; it's early; but that really does make me happy to hear that; even early on; they're being warmly received!))#((and it's true; the pace brothers and the burke's have only just met lon and erika; and they adore them already!))#((the twins are so endearing that upon first meeting; they already win over their great-grandparents and grand-uncles))#((just like that! it's very sweet; and i think it speaks to the familial bond between the two families))#((that even upon meeting new family; they're just seized by a familial love that they welcome them with open arms!))#outofhatboxes#beatingheart-bride#V:Two Worlds; One Family

Autumn 1895: Colin catches on that Winona seems to be onto him, does he reveal what he knows or will Winona tell him first?
Characters featured: Albert Burke @madelineorionswan.
Characters mentioned: Lysander Mercury @slytherindisaster.
Warnings: mention of social anxiety, carnivorous plants.
"Colin?" Albert Burke Wyevernbush, his best friend, nudged him.
"What?" He whispered back, taking a quick check that professor Binns was too busy occupied by goblin rebellions. Colin heard enough tales about them from fellow Goblins from the recent rebellion in 1890.
"Winona has been staring at you again. Do you think she knows?" Albert proffered. Colin sheepishly glanced over at them from desks that the Gryffindor girl occupied with her friend. The girl quickly turned her head around, caught in the act.
Albert may be very well right. Colin did have the inkling that Winona was onto him, the increasing stares at him. At first, he wants to be sure that he is being paranoid, but Albert may have confirmed his worst fear. Particularly from Winona Rosewood and, last night Lysander, his Hufflepuff dormmate. Colin woke up in the night feeling Lysander's blue gaze right through, exactly like back in second year.
It made Colin wrought with worry and anxiety. Numerous times, his heart palpitated rapidly as he felt them getting closer to the truth, especially from Lysander. No, maybe they already knew the truth after all; everyone knew that the cousins were as thick as thieves.
"I dare hope not, Bertie," Colin muttered under his breath, only loud enough for Albert to hear.
At lunch, he and Albert hid in the Herbology greenhouses. While the fanged geraniums don't make the most pleasant of companies, it is undoubtedly more comfortable than the eyes of the students at the great hall. Professor MacMillan had been kind enough to let them as long as they helped with watering and caring for the plants.
Knocks rapped on the glass door.
"Hello?" A head peaked out.
The curious eyes of the Gryffindor girl wandered around the exotic plants reserved for the more advanced students before meeting his matching eyes.
"Hello, Colin. I was wondering if we could converse on a private matter." Her eyes glanced over to Albert.
"Um...you can say whatever you have to say to me in front of Bertie. I hold no secrets from him."
"Alright then," Winona murmured as she narrowly avoided getting bitten by the carnivorous plant. She sat neatly down on the stool. "So, I don't know how to say this..."
She paused, carefully considering her following words. Bertie edged on his seat with suspense, staring between the two.
"So, I have discovered of recent..." She fiddled with her thumbs. Colin held his breath. Will she say it, or will she not? "That my father had a child out of wedlock."
Her hazel eyes studied Colin's face to see his reaction. He hoped that he was not coming across as unfavourable.
"That child was you, Colin." Her lips seemed to purse tightly. She seemed nervous, not what Colin had expected.
"Aye, I ken." Colin finally showed a small smile.
Winona stared at him in disbelief. "You already knew? Wait, for how long? Why did you never say anything?"
"I knew for the entire time," Colin answered, fiddling with his fingers. "Ma told me about ma father but always told me to keep ma mouth shut. Especially at Hogwarts."
"Well, now that we both know, it's so good to have another brother," Winona spoke with excitement.
"I guess it's nice to have a sister," Colin already warmed up to the idea. He knew he was going against his mother's wishes; however, in his defence, Winona, his sister who he can now call her, was the one to approach him.
"And another brother too." He added, referring to Glenn Rosewood. Though Colin always found the older Gryffindor as an imitating force. Constantly berating and taking points from anyone in line.
The Gryffindor girl's brows furrowed in. "Another brother?"
Colin pointed to Bertie, half excited and half worried for him. "He's not my brother by blood, but I consider him one. This is Albert Burke."
Albert gave a slight wave to Winona.
"Hello," he said quietly.
"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you," Winona replied warmly. "I don't think I have seen you around before, Albert."
"You can call me Bertie, and no I don't believe we have met properly."
"Well, it's lovely making your acquaintance, Bertie." Colin felt his smile creep up as Bertie blushed brightly when Winona used his nickname. They didn't have many friends, and while Colin was comfortable with his small circle, he knew Bertie wanted to expand his friendship circle a little more.
"Rosewood. Winona, I mean?" Colin clarified. His mouth felt weird, and being on a first-name basis with his sister was strange.
"Yes, Colin?"
"Does your brother...I mean our brother know?"
"No."
"Lysander?"
Winona only nodded her head, laughing a little. "Was my dear cousin that obvious?"
"Yes." Colin sounded a little grumpy. "He better not going and tell everyone about our blood ties."
"Don't worry, he is my best secret keeper. Well, we didn't perform the actual curse however he keeps all my secret as I do for him." Winona corrected herself.
The bell rang, and Colin could hear some students gathering outside.
"You better leave before anyone...you know."
"Right, cause men and women can be left alone." She scoffed but was ready to leave with a smile. "I'll see you both around."
"Yeah...see you around," Colin awkwardly waved.
"Be careful of the-" Bertie warned, yet it was too late.
"Merlin's beard! Get off of me!"
"Fanged geraniums..."
Bertie faded out. Winona was in a tug-of-war with the carnivorous plant. Colin and Bertie rushed to help and pulled her arm away, but the red plant held a chunk of fabric between their teeth.
Winona looked horrified at the shredded robe before letting out a peal of loud laughter. Colin was hesitant at first, wondering if she was hurt but slowly joined in the absurdity. Bertie followed, laughing at the fanged geraniums, who, in turn, Colin mused, must be looking back at them confused but he didn't care. He had gained a sister that day.

Aughhh that scene ... I truly think that Lestrade would not want to upset Holmes, he's just giddy to have bested him [at least he thinks so]. But knowing how down Holmes was in the morning, and his motionless face, and the way he then glances at Watson like "Told you so" that could just as well, under the surface, be to reassure himself that he had indeed his friend's moral support today ... And Watson meeting his gaze with a bit of apprehension because he's worried about Holmes and the case, but also with a steadfastness as if to reassure him ... Whew.
I don’t like being wrong any more than the rest of us do. Still, a man can’t always expect to have it his own way… —The Norwood Builder

Macabre Month 7 Part VII: Untraceable (2008)
In today's review, I go online with my horror thrillers as I attempt a #positive review of the 2008 techno-thriller Untraceable #DianeLane #BillyBurke #ColinHanks #JosephCross #MaryBethHurt #PeterLewis #TyroneGiordano #PerlaHaneyJardine #TimDeZarn
When you think about it, the Internet really is a reflection of humanity as a whole, the digitised summation of practically every thought, every innovation, and every endeavour catalogued and ready to be experienced. There’s also a cloud to this silver lining; terrible things do lie underneath, as they lie underneath some people’s hearts. In 2008, the nightmares of the deep, dark web were made…
