"Kisses"
Andrew and Mary will forever be my favorite pairing. They're gonna love each other for the rest of their lives. I asked the artist to draw them like the final kiss in Breakfast At Tiffany's

Is it alright for you to make a story for Andrew and my OC Mary and about them at a dance and Mary feels a bit shy as Andrew leads her. If you want to know how Mary is like I made a complete profile of her in my Tumblr
A Waltz Under Glass and Stars
Andrew Marston x Mary Colette Fontaine
The grand ballroom of Kensington Hall shimmered with golden light. Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead, casting refracted rainbows across the arched windows. The air buzzed softly with conversation, punctuated by the gentle strains of a waltz. The gathering was one of elegance and sophistication, the kind of event where names carried weight and fashion whispered stories. Andrew Marston, dressed in a tailored navy suit and wearing his characteristic air of composed confidence, stood near the edge of the room. His golden honey brown hair was neatly combed, and his eyes held their usual sharpness, though tonight there was a softer glint.
Tumblr media
By his side stood Mary Colette Fontaine. Clad in a flowing cream-colored dress with delicate lace details, she looked every bit the part of a woman meant to be admired. Her blonde waves were pinned back with a butterfly clip, a gift from her friends in New York. She clutched a small, silver clutch with one hand, the other resting nervously on her wrist. Her green eyes darted across the room, observing the mingling crowds, the polished marble floor, and the musicians seated in the far corner.
"You're awfully quiet tonight," Andrew observed, his voice low and soothing as he leaned closer.
Mary's cheeks turned the soft pink of a summer dawn. "It's just... overwhelming," she admitted, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I’m not used to things like this."
Andrew tilted his head, his gaze thoughtful as he regarded her. "Considering who your parents are, I imagined you'd be more at ease in places like this."
"That’s the problem," she replied, her lips forming a small, nervous smile. "I’ve spent my life being someone I’m not. Tonight, I just feel... out of place."
Andrew’s expression softened. He extended his hand toward her, palm up. "Then let me show you something that feels less like them and more like us."
Mary blinked at his outstretched hand, her green eyes wide with a mixture of surprise and hesitation. "Andrew, I... I don’t really dance," she stammered, her voice barely audible over the music.
"You don’t need to," he replied with a smirk, his voice brimming with quiet confidence. "You just need to follow me."
She hesitated, her fingers tapping against her clutch, a telltale sign of her nerves. Andrew’s patience didn’t waver. His steady, reassuring gaze anchored her, and after a moment, she let out a soft breath and placed her hand in his. His touch was warm, his grip firm but gentle.
"I’ll lead," he promised, guiding her toward the center of the ballroom.
The room seemed to shift as they stepped onto the polished floor, the waltz swelling to meet them. Around them, other couples glided in perfect harmony, their movements elegant and precise. Mary felt a knot tighten in her chest. Her short frame barely reached Andrew’s shoulder, and her natural clumsiness made her acutely aware of every step.
"Andrew," she whispered, her voice a thread of sound. "I’m going to make a fool of myself."
He bent his head closer, his breath brushing her ear as he murmured, "Nonsense. No one here matters but us."
His words settled something inside her, and when he placed his hand lightly on her waist, she didn’t pull away. Instead, she allowed him to guide her other hand to his shoulder. The music swirled around them, and he began to move, his steps measured and deliberate. She followed, her movements hesitant at first, but his confidence was infectious.
"You’re doing wonderfully," he said softly, his tone encouraging.
Mary bit her lip, concentrating on the rhythm of the music and the steadiness of his lead. "I feel like everyone’s watching."
"They are," Andrew replied, his mouth curving into a teasing smile. "But they’re only watching because you look stunning."
She glanced up at him, her expression a mixture of disbelief and bashfulness. "You always know what to say."
"I’ve had practice," he quipped, the corner of his mouth lifting in a way that made her heart skip. "Now, stop overthinking. Trust me."
Mary let out a breath and allowed herself to relax. With each passing moment, the tension in her shoulders eased, and her steps became smoother. Andrew’s movements were fluid, his guidance subtle but assured. He spun her gently, and for the first time, she felt a flicker of enjoyment.
"You’re smiling," he observed, his voice holding a hint of triumph.
"Am I?" she asked, almost laughing. "I hadn’t noticed."
"You should do it more often," he said, his gaze locking with hers. "It suits you."
Her cheeks flushed again, but this time it wasn’t from nerves. The music shifted into a softer melody, and the couples around them slowed. Andrew drew her closer, his hand at her waist steadying her as they swayed. The world beyond the music seemed to blur, leaving only the two of them.
"Do you ever think about how strange this is?" Mary asked suddenly, her voice quiet.
"Strange how?" Andrew replied, tilting his head slightly.
"How we ended up here," she said, her gaze dropping to the space between them. "Me, the girl who wanted to blend into the background. You, the professor who "
" thought he’d spend his life alone," he finished for her, his tone contemplative. "Yes, I think about it."
She looked up at him, her green eyes searching his face. "And what do you think?"
He paused, as if choosing his words carefully. "I think it’s proof that even the most unexpected paths can lead to something worthwhile."
Her lips parted slightly, and for a moment, she forgot the music, the room, and the crowd. All that existed was the sincerity in his gaze and the warmth of his hand in hers.
"Andrew," she began, her voice faltering.
"Hmm?"
"Thank you," she said simply, her words carrying a weight of gratitude that went beyond the dance.
He raised an eyebrow, his smirk returning. "For what? For convincing you to dance? Or for being utterly charming while doing so?"
She laughed softly, shaking her head. "For everything. For being... you."
His expression shifted, the teasing fading into something deeper. "You make it easy, Mary."
The song drew to a close, the final notes lingering in the air like a sigh. Around them, the other couples began to applaud, and Mary realized with a start that they had stopped moving. Andrew, ever composed, released her hand but didn’t step away.
"Shall we step outside for some air?" he suggested, his tone casual but his eyes attentive.
She nodded, grateful for the reprieve. He led her through a side door onto a terrace overlooking the gardens. The cool night air was a welcome contrast to the warmth of the ballroom, and Mary tilted her face toward the sky, where stars winked down like scattered diamonds.
"Much better," she murmured, leaning against the railing.
Andrew joined her, standing close but not crowding her. "You handled yourself well in there," he remarked.
"I think that was mostly you," she admitted, glancing at him with a shy smile.
"Hardly," he replied, his tone light but his expression serious. "You were brilliant."
Mary didn’t know how to respond, so she simply looked back at the stars. After a moment, she felt his hand brush against hers on the railing. She hesitated, then turned her hand over, letting his fingers intertwine with hers.
"You make me brave," she said quietly.
Andrew’s grip tightened slightly, and when she looked at him, she saw an emotion in his eyes that took her breath away.
"That," he said, his voice steady, "is the most beautiful thing you could have said."
under the watchful gaze of the stars, with the echoes of the waltz still lingering in their ears, Mary realized she wasn’t just dancing with Andrew tonight she was falling deeper in love.
The terrace was quiet, save for the distant hum of conversation and music drifting through the open doors behind them. The crisp night air carried the faint scent of blooming roses from the garden below, wrapping Mary and Andrew in an almost dreamlike stillness.
For a long moment, neither of them spoke. Mary tilted her head back again, letting her eyes trace the constellations she had studied as a child. She had often found solace in the night sky, but standing here now, with Andrew beside her, the stars seemed less distant, less untouchable.
“Do you always carry the weight of the world on your shoulders?” Andrew’s voice broke the silence, gentle but probing.
She turned to look at him, his face partially lit by the warm glow spilling from the ballroom. He wasn’t teasing his question and held genuine curiosity, and she felt the weight of his gaze as it lingered on her.
“Sometimes,” she admitted, her voice quieter than she intended. “It’s easier that way. If I carry it, no one else has to.”
Andrew’s lips pressed into a thin line, and he nodded slightly, as though her words resonated with something deep within him. “A noble thought,” he said, his tone laced with an edge of sadness. “But you don’t have to bear it alone. You shouldn’t.”
Mary blinked, caught off guard by his candor. “And who would help me? You?”
The question wasn’t meant to be sharp, but her own doubt colored it. She immediately regretted the way it sounded, especially as Andrew’s expression flickered with a brief flash of hurt.
“Yes,” he said simply. His voice was steady, his answer unwavering.
The sincerity in his response left her momentarily speechless. Andrew wasn’t the type to offer words lightly, and the weight of his promise settled over her like a warm blanket.
“I don’t know if I’m good at... leaning on people,” she confessed, glancing back down at their hands still intertwined on the railing. “I’ve spent so long trying to prove I don’t need to.”
Andrew shifted slightly, his shoulder brushing hers. “Leaning on someone doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you trust them to catch you when you stumble.”
She let his words sink in, and for the first time, the idea didn’t feel so foreign. Slowly, she tightened her grip on his hand, as if testing the strength of his promise.
“Why do you do that?” she asked after a moment, her tone lightening as she glanced sideways at him.
“Do what?” Andrew asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Say the perfect thing,” she replied, a small smile tugging at her lips. “It’s infuriating.”
Andrew chuckled softly, his shoulders relaxing. “It’s not perfection. It’s observation. You wear your heart on your sleeve, Mary, whether you realize it or not.”
She looked away, her cheeks flushing again, but this time, there was no shame in it. He had a way of seeing her that felt both disarming and comforting.
The music shifted again, the faint melody of a string quartet drifting through the air. Mary found herself stepping closer to him, the coolness of the night making his presence all the more grounding.
“I think I like it better out here,” she admitted, her voice just loud enough for him to hear.
“Fewer eyes,” Andrew agreed, his lips curving into a small smile. “But the view is far superior.”
She followed his gaze, expecting to find him admiring the gardens. Instead, his eyes were locked on her, the golden light of the ballroom reflected in their depths. Her breath caught, and she felt the familiar flutter in her chest that had become inseparable from his presence.
“Andrew...” she began, her voice trembling slightly.
He stepped closer, his free hand coming up to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear. His touch was light, almost hesitant, as though he feared breaking the spell of the moment.
“You don’t have to say anything,” he murmured, his voice low and intimate. “Just let me stay here with you.”
She nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat. “I’d like that.”
They stood there in silence, the night wrapping around them like a cocoon. The stars above seemed brighter, more alive, as though they were bearing witness to something rare and precious. And as the music from the ballroom swelled once more, Mary realized that, for the first time in her life, she wasn’t afraid to lean into the moment, into him.
Because Andrew wasn’t just a professor with sharp wit and an impossibly charming smile. He was her anchor, her partner in a dance she never thought she’d have the courage to join. And for the first time, the weight of the world felt a little lighter.
The stars would remain their silent witnesses as the night unfolded, a waltz under glass and stars becoming the prologue to something much greater.

[Mint Note]: I hope you enjoyed the story! It took me some time to plan it out and make sure it fit Mary’s character, so I really hope it met your expectations and was to your liking

Colette and Professor Marston
I wanna point out that while both films were not perfect I do think it is interesting we are seeing real examples of non-monogamous relationships. Colette and Willy may have been unhealthy and Willy was definitely emotionally abusive but the heavy thread was that she did not care about the open nature of the relationship as long as he didnt lie to her. In typical man fashion he was trash and did nothing but try to control and lie to her. But considering I haven't seem any films really with any poly representation I think its interesting to get two relatively close together.
Obviously Professor Marston is far better since they all cared for one another and he wasn't as much of a trash human being as Willy.
But I would like one about Virginia Woolf when she was writing in love with Sackville-West...

i was wondering if you could share some of your favourite wlw/sapphic ships? i really enjoy your queer content in general and so id love to hear some of your takes on sapphic subtext etc :)) hope you’re doing well!
Hello anon! It’s 2AM and I should be asleep but instead I’m going to answer this ask. Partially because I tend to be perpetually behind on messages / asks (shout out to everyone I have yet to answer, I am so sorry), both because I’m often busy and incapable of brevity. I do not want that to happen to you, so here I go!
Thank you for the kind words 🥺 I appreciate you wanting to know my thoughts and enjoying my content!
Here are some wlw/sapphic ships I love!!
• Carol/Maria from Captain Marvel. As far as I am concerned, they are canonically wives. It’s not subtle! I wrote a meta thread about how the themes of the movie are enhanced if you read it as a story about Carol as a gay woman. Also, every time I remember that “Kiss Me Deadly” is the song they sing together in karaoke, I freak the fuck out. I firmly feel like Stevebucky and Carolmaria are the 2 greatest love stories of the MCU movies and it’s astonishing how similar they are, too. I’ll never forgive the Marvel fandom for sidelining Maria in favorite of shipping Carol/Valkyrie because of insidious colorism. I wrote a mini fic about Maria feeling insecure when Carol meets Valkyrie to work out my frustrations about that too!
• Nomi / Amanita from Sense8. (In all ways but physical, Amanita is MY wife, actually.) I feel like they’re one of the coolest, healthiest, and most badass relationships on screen :’) They make me so fucking happy and I will never get over how ride or die they are for each other.
• Andy / Quynh from The Old Guard. I am crossing ALL of my fingers that they expand on them in the sequel, because I felt there was very strong subtext (that was barely subtext) there, and as far as I know they were together in the comics. Big shout out to Andy wearing Quynh’s necklace, for example. (I’d need to rewatch the movie to get lost back in the sauce and discuss them more because it’s been awhile)
• I have ships from Black Sails that I enjoy discussing in depth, but those are spoilers! (I tend to only talk Black Sails spoilers on @freedom-in-the-dark or my side twitter gaypiracy)
• This is fairly new, but I am eyeballing Katy / Xialing from Shang-Chi. There was subtext there too, I feel. Katy definitely seemed to have a crush on Xialing, and there was tension in the moment when Xialing saved her. I’m hoping they expand on that dynamic in future movies!
• I never finished this show (even though I meant to), but Cosima / Delphine in Orphan Black were near and dear to my heart a long time ago, so I can’t not mention them. It’s been a very long time since I’ve thought about them but they were a big deal.
• In the “fuck the CW” category: YEARS ago, back when I watched Arrow, Nyssa/Sara was extremely important to me. I adored them, and then of course they killed Sara (and later forced Nyssa to fake marry Oliver). I was also into Lexa/Clarke from The 100 during that era—because who wasn’t, though I didn’t love them as a ship as strongly as many people did—and we all know where that went.
That’s it for main ones, I think. Sorry if that disappoints! I’m especially sorry that I don’t have much meta to offer, unfortunately, simply because most of what I’m mentioning is either explicit canon so it didn’t involve subtext hunting or I watched it before I got super involved in media analysis. I’m planning on watching Killing Eve when it’s complete as long as it sticks the landing, and I know that show is going to eat my brain hahaha. Some of my friends are super into it and have sent me a couple clips here and there and I’ve unintentionally written meta off the cuff and they lose their shit. I’m looking forward to devouring it eventually.
As for ones I’m just sort of casually into... I never finished Legend of Korra (not yet anyway), but I loved and appreciated Korrasami because again, who doesn’t. Similarly, I could get behind Kate Bishop / America Chavez in my Young Avengers days, and Peggy / Angie from Agent Carter. From very far away, I salute the Supergirl fandom, because I know Kara/Lena would make me foam at the mouth if I was at all into watching it and I’m rooting for those crazy kids.
My last humble offerings...
Movie recs:
Portrait of a Lady On Fire (which I know most people have seen by now), though warning that it’s very bittersweet or sad. Please, PLEASE watch Colette if you have not; that movie is very important to me, and it is both sapphic and gender. Likewise, please watch Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, which is based on a true story and involves an m/f/f polyamorous relationship.
Niche fic recs because people deserve to read these:
Sharon/Natasha fic that is vastly underrated and I love it, and Eleven/Max fic from Stranger Things that lives rent free in my brain. (I think Will/Mike is endgame in that show and the parallels between Will and Eleven do make me wonder if they’ll make her gay too.) These are literally the only fics for either of these ships I have ever read. And of course, this genderbent f/f 1950s Johnlock case fic which will kick your ass. You’re welcome in advance.
Thank you again for asking! 💜

Ch. 3
Characters: Colette Marston and Red Army
Tagging: @plumpblueberry @thetwinkims
A/N: It’s been a good while since I wrote Colette but here she is!
Tumblr media
A gentle pat against curly blonde locks startled the young girl. Her head swiveled up; clear blue eyes glazed over with water threatening to turn into more tears. The throbbing of her heart caused her chest to ache. Why didn’t he look angry? Edgar was a master of hiding his emotions, but the death of the King of Hearts by her own hand should be called nothing short of treason.
“I can see why you’re distraught. That was quite a vision to have.”
That’s it? He’d seen what she had. Where were the handcuffs? Wouldn’t he escort her to the cells? Her head spun, unable to tear her blurry gaze away from the Jack. “But I…”
“You should be well aware that King Lancelot won’t be foiled so easily, but the protocol of your visions is to have you tip them in our favor. You’ll work on it and report back to me, alright?” He’d inform his two superiors in private. The last thing the child needed was an explosion from Jonah.
Edgar relayed the vision to Zero without one important detail. Everything remained the same. Central quarter in absolute ruin. Destruction beyond comprehension, likely the end of Cradle altogether. And finally, a hooded figure before a wounded Lancelot, about to deal the final blow. Not a mention of Colette at all.
He hadn’t seen her as the villain of their tragic future?
Colette could hardly eat the breakfast that was served and decided to dump it in the trash. She couldn’t imagine what would possess her to harm Lancelot. He’d been incredibly kind to her since she’d arrived, and unlike most adults, he also had innate magical abilities.
“Don’t let Jonah catch you or he’ll give you a lecture.”
The sudden comment startled the girl and the plate slipped from her fingers, shattering into various pieces on the floor. The racket brought out the kitchen staff.
“Ouh-” Kyle pressed his palms against his ears, shaking his head gently. His hungover state did not appreciate the loud noise. Golden eyes darted over her features, concern showing in the crease between his brows. “You look pale. How are you feeling?”
Using magic drained her energy, like all magic users, and yet it wasn’t near as severe as with Lancelot. Perhaps it was her age. Not much information was available about natural magic users since they were a rare breed. Kyle had to compile his own research and continually build it with first hand knowledge. This instance, whether magic or not, something wasn’t right.
He bent down to place the back of his hand against her forehead. “Fever.”
Colette leaned into his touch, reaching out to grab his other hand and place it against her cheek. “Your hands are cold. It feels really good.” She swayed slightly, threatening to fall over at any moment. Her whole body felt heavy.
“Yeah, you’re coming with me. I’m officially committing you to the infirmary until this fever breaks.” The doctor rarely gave any orders, but this one he’d follow through with. Not that he truly needed to. The eight year old would obey any task or request given by an officer because Lancelot had told her to.
Shuffling the child to the infirmary, Kyle carefully observed her climb onto the empty bed near the window. It allowed her to see outside even when she felt ill. She wobbled, looking fainter than before. “This new vision. Did it keep you from sleeping?”
“Yes and—” The hesitation in her voice evident.
Kyle pulled up a stool, pouring a spoonful of medicine to aid in reducing the fever and allowing her to sleep. “You know you can tell me anything and it stays between us.”
Colette’s features soured as she dutifully swallowed the liquid. “Zero had to stop me from almost falling down the stairs to the storage building. I don’t… know how I got there.” If he hadn’t grabbed her, she might have been injured or worse. Those thoughts scared her terribly.
“Hmm. That is worrisome. You’ve never slept walk with a vision before.”
“What if it happens again? What if-” She nearly choked on her own words, visibily working herself up over the endless possibilities of what could go wrong. If the abilities she possessed allowed her to move without her own consent, it would be reasonable to believe that she could also wield attack spells and harm someone.
The doctor took her trembling hands and brushed his thumbs across the back soothingly. Having a meltdown would not aid in her recovery. “Easy, kiddo. Take a deep breath.” Kyle mimicked doing so as she did. “You don’t have to worry about that right now. I’ll be here the whole time you’re asleep, alright?”
He helped her settle beneath sheet, staying by her side until her breathing evened out. Although she silently struggled, the medicine worked her into a deep sleep. Kyle moved to his desk, taking notes of all the effects of her magic. The file thick with his scribbled pages of mostly questions and a few observations. Truly, magic in humans was a vast field of unknowns.
A few soldiers came and went, receiving treatments for minor injuries. The sun had slid completely beyond the horizon, giving the moon it’s time to light the sky in a silver glow surrounded by twinkling stars. The girl still wishing to rest hid beneath the sheet, squeezing her eyes shut at the conversation beyond the cracked door.
“That’s an order, Kyle. I must speak with her straight away.” Jonah’s harsh tone laced with urgency. It came as no surprise. He always reacted in such a way whenever it came to the King of Hearts.
The Seven sighed but continued to block the doorway, his back shielding anymore light from spilling into the darkened infirmary. “You’re only going to scare her. This is why Edgar was left in charge of this particular vision. You overreact.”
“Overreact? How is one to react with the news that there is an imminent attack on King Lancelot?”
“Calmly.”
“I am calm!” Jonah snapped, not willing to back down on this subject.
Without the knowledge of how she managed to show Edgar the vision and not reveal herself in it, Colette shivered. Jonah would surely lock her away for her participation, regardless of the reason behind it. She couldn’t live with the harsh judgement that would reside behind those amber eyes that used to be soft and kind when directed at her.
No, facing Jonah was simply too much.
Silently moving to the end of the bed, the girl unlocked the window and shoved the pane upward to escape. The task much harder than anticipated. Her knee dug into the sill, sending a wave of pain up her leg. Colette tumbled forward, rolling unceremoniously across the shrub beneath before smacking into the freshly watered soil of the flowerbed. “Ouch.”
A shadow fell over her. Matching clear blue eyes met as the young Two of Hearts turned her gaze upwards. Being caught by a patrol guard might have been less embarrassing. Her dress sullied with stains of green and brown, blonde curls stuck with twigs and leaves. Not the least bit presentable to be found by their prestigious leader.
“What is the meaning of this, Colette?”
