When The Last Titan drops...
and we go back to Northrend, I wonder what the new capital will be for the expansion. I doubt they'll go with Dalaran again, so operating on the assumption that we'll be using an existing location, I think that the likely options will be...
Grizzlemaw - now ruled over by Furbolgs that are finally purified
Zul'Drak/Gundrak - Could easily see surviving Drakkari finally banding together to rebuild, and maybe opening up to the other factions to ensure survival/out of desperation. I like to think it would be a coalition of living and undead trolls
Wintergrasp - Finally find some greater use for it
Moa'ki Harbor - According to Exploring Northrend, the largest Tuskarr settlement since losing Kaskala
Kaskala - Finally reclaimed
Pal'ea - According to Exploring Northrend, has been reclaimed by the Tuskarr and is currently expanding
Isle of Conquest
Strand of the Ancients
Azjol-Nerub - Not too sure about this one considering what's going on in tWW, but I feel like it's a fair possibility
Coldarra/the Nexus
Crystalsong Forest - Unlikely, but I could see them rebuilding in the Highborne Ruins, especially if they go with a Dalaran connection and the elven factions. Doubt it though, considering the expansion before this will be so Elf-focused
Didn't consider any Storm Peaks locations, considering that it seems we'll be fighting the Titans who will be based out of Ulduar, or Icecrown locations, considering I doubt that anybody would choose that. Sholazar also has Titan connections and also no locations that seem like they would fit for a capital city.

Character Insight #8: Galactagosa
Full Name: Galactagosa Gender: Trans Female (she/her) Race: Blue Dragon (visage: Night Elf/Kaldorei) Class: Mage Specialization: Arcane Orientation: Lesbian Relatives: No Known Relatives Age: ~3,000 Height: 7'11 Voice reference: Six Eyes - Beastars Theme: The Nexus - Amaranthe
[BACKSTORY]
Galactagosa was born in the Nexus in Coldarra, Borean Tundra on the continent of Northrend. Born a considerable time after the War of the Ancients, Galacta was not raised on the concerns of mortals possessing magic like so many of her Flight were. Instead, the mortals interested her, and she believed every living creature had the right to defend themselves by magical means if necessary. However, the rest of the Blue Dragons did not, as the Aspect of Magic at the time, Malygos, believed mortals to be irresponsible with magic.
For the most part, Galacta kept her opinions to herself. Her life as a Dragon for a long time was stagnant. Her visage ceremony didn't go particularly as planned, though. As a Dragon that was born male, Galactagosa (who, at the time, was referred to as Galactagos) was expected to take on a matching male visage. However, she had found herself feeling more comfortable when experimenting with female pronouns, and instead chose the form of a female Kaldorei as a visage.
That was not the problem that Galactagosa raised for her Dragonflight, however. The problem was that, when Malygos declared war against the mortal magic-users and his fellow Dragonkin, Galacta did not follow him. Instead, she rebelled, using her arcane masteries to assist the Kirin Tor during the Nexus War. Mortals always intrigued her, and she made many friends in the Kirin Tor, including real Night Elf mages that had been ostracized from their main society for their affinity for magic. Thus, she took extra pride in her visage, and oriented herself as an ally to the rights of mortals.
Since the end of the Nexus War, Galactagosa has felt misplaced. The Blue Flight became scattered, with very little of them left on Azeroth. But when the Dragon Isles awakened and called the Dragonflights home, the Blues reorganized again, and Galacta was happy to return to her kin since the crazed Malygos was long dead. Now, Galacta seeks to research more about magic and its affects on the world of Azeroth, and is happy she can coexist with her Flight and keep her morals in the process.
[THOUGHTS]
This is also a character that hasn't been on-screen yet but I think she'll be a fun gal to give a role to in upcoming arcs! A quick post, but it took me a while 'cause.. well I honestly wasn't entirely motivated lol, but here it is!

Blue Dragonflight Pride - The Spellbinder Kelzygosa
With all that has come about with the new expansion, I figured I'd do an appreciation post commemorating my blue dragon, Kelzygosa.
For a long time, I felt that I wasn't permitted to roleplay as a dragon. Generally speaking, the community refused to acknowledge dragon roleplayers in a canon capacity on World of Warcraft for fear of god-modding, meta-gaming, undermining the characteristics of dragons by humanizing their personalities/instincts, and not abiding by the established lore.
Yet despite these challenges, I wanted to push through. I couldn't stand forcing myself to play a character that my heart wasn't fully with. This resulted in many challenges with building an exemplary dragon character - one that required diligence and careful research in the construction and development of the character. My dragon needed to be a fundamental asset to the roleplay community and enable engagement for other players seeking the draconic avenue of roleplay.
I never once wanted anyone to feel they couldn't play a dragon - and would always encourage the notion to pursue their interests and help them where I could on the lore front. I witnessed so many players get discouraged when the thought of criticism or outright bashing happened to their dragons.
Since the release of Dragonflight, I've seen the attitude of the community change by adopting the idea of roleplaying Drac'thyr and Dragons. But I don't want anyone to forget the hardships some of us faced in the past and think hard about the way they had treated or viewed players who wanted to adopt an idea that wasn't regularly accepted or considered in the community.
This is our chance to make great stories happen! I implore everyone to strengthen their relations with other players in the community and continue to strive to be the best they can be! Mortal, Dragon, Naga, San'layn, Dark Rangers, Old God, or whatever you are - show us your passion and never be discouraged by negative remarks! Your character is important and deserves to be recognized, acknowledged, and validated!
One voice doesn't speak for us all, but I know I'm not alone in wanting to promote roleplay or the acceptance of new OCs.

A Near Run Win in The Nexus
A Near Run Win in The Nexus
After last weeks test run we were back in Coldarra and ready to give The Nexus.  We failed on the last boss, Keristrasza, in that first run, but otherwise seemed to stumble through fairly well.  So we were keen to try again. We had just one problem:  There were only four of us.  For characters, we always only have four people playing. Beanpole wasn’t sure when he would be able to play on Sunday,…

Catching a glimpse of Coldarra, the former home of the Dragon Aspect of Magic, Malygos. The book I was referencing for Northrend informed me of its complete inaccessibility to one such as myself, so I didn't try to visit it. I continued on my route east. Earth Mother watch over you.

Heralding the Roar of the Fallen
Tumblr media
Along the night sky, an aurora of light danced and weaved over the expanse of the Borean Tundra. Not many blue dragons had visited Coldarra since Kalecgos made the decree that the Dragonflight was no more. But before this announcement had ever reached the ears of Kelzygosa, she had since sought her own means to carry out the former Spellweaver's will. Whether it be through the reacquisition of relics or maintaining upkeep on the Nexus, she made herself available to ensure the functions of the past lived on.
Her flight had brought her over the snow-blessed crater of Coldarra as she descended at the base of the Nexus. The rounded platforms that hovered high overhead still kept the power of the leylines within check at its center. Though the recent attacks circulated through the Ethereal and Demons had tested the architecture's foundation and wards. Some runes were active upon her re-entry, which she passed through without hindrance. Claws scraped along the frozen floor into the Axis of Alignment. The scent of Keristrasza's death had since left the empty halls and her soul did not tarry in the wake of her instigated demise.
In the places where wards did not glow with power, she would give pause as she moved to press her claw on the rune's surface. Mana quickly transferred from her being into the rune as the light began to radiate beneath spread crystalline digits. When she withdrew her arm back beneath her, there was a look to the center of the Axis. No longer was there a dragon here to provide security over the relics in the Nexus. Jarecgos and Azuregos had departed like the rest of the blue dragons in search of purpose. Perhaps they would find it alongside Senagos or Kalecgos in the vast open world of Azeroth.
Much like Arygos in the sense of stubborn beliefs, she was resilient to any change or adaption in her lifestyle. The many mortals she interacted with knew of this devotion and found themselves hard-pressed to sway her from her oath to Malygos. And any that stood in her way quickly remembered the danger that came from the company of dragons. Gritting her fangs together, she inhaled heavily through her nostrils and made to depart from the Axis when a nearby scrying orb began to glow.
The bellowing cry of a dragon's roar filled the Nexus as the voice of Lapisagos spoke.
"TO THOSE THAT SERVE IN MALYGOS' NAME, THE DRACTHYR HAVE AWAKENED. MY SACRED CHARGE IN ENSURING THEIR CAPTIVITY HAS BECOME COMPROMISED ON THE DRAGON ISLES. COME TO THE DRAGON ISLES AND CARRY OUT THE SPELLWEAVER'S WILL!"
And just as the message came, it left as silence fell over Kelzygosa once more. Golden eyes flickered with amusement as she turned towards the entryway to the Nexus.
"And I thought the Dragon Isles were lost to time... Seems the past does not stay dead for long." Eager steps took the dragoness outside as she cast out both wings to take flight. Sweeping claws pushed down hard against the ground as she propelled herself toward the sky and flew to the East. While the blue dragon had not ventured to the Dragon Isles personally, it seemed instinct would direct her course. No longer would there be neglect by the blue Dragonflight as she would enforce the law of arcane and magic to those that defied its authority.

Coldarra : The Nexus
The blue Dragon Aspect, Malygos, was charged ages ago by the titans as the guardian of magic. More than ten millennia ago, he watched in horror as Deathwing all but wiped out the blue flight. Maddened by grief, Malygos withdrew to his lair and paid little heed to the rest of the world, emerging only when it finally seemed possible to avenge Deathwing's terrible crime.
