When The Last Titan drops...

and we go back to Northrend, I wonder what the new capital will be for the expansion. I doubt they'll go with Dalaran again, so operating on the assumption that we'll be using an existing location, I think that the likely options will be...

Grizzlemaw - now ruled over by Furbolgs that are finally purified

Zul'Drak/Gundrak - Could easily see surviving Drakkari finally banding together to rebuild, and maybe opening up to the other factions to ensure survival/out of desperation. I like to think it would be a coalition of living and undead trolls

Wintergrasp - Finally find some greater use for it

Moa'ki Harbor - According to Exploring Northrend, the largest Tuskarr settlement since losing Kaskala

Kaskala - Finally reclaimed

Pal'ea - According to Exploring Northrend, has been reclaimed by the Tuskarr and is currently expanding

Isle of Conquest

Strand of the Ancients

Azjol-Nerub - Not too sure about this one considering what's going on in tWW, but I feel like it's a fair possibility

Coldarra/the Nexus

Crystalsong Forest - Unlikely, but I could see them rebuilding in the Highborne Ruins, especially if they go with a Dalaran connection and the elven factions. Doubt it though, considering the expansion before this will be so Elf-focused

Didn't consider any Storm Peaks locations, considering that it seems we'll be fighting the Titans who will be based out of Ulduar, or Icecrown locations, considering I doubt that anybody would choose that. Sholazar also has Titan connections and also no locations that seem like they would fit for a capital city.

The Firehose of Honor in Wintergrasp

I mentioned in a previous post about gearing up my hunter, that week of work for welfare epics, using honor gained in Wintergrasp.  That didn’t get him all the possible gear and upgrades, but it came pretty close, boosting him up past 4,400 in gear score for a modestly diligent effort. Waiting for another Wintergrasp Wrath of the Lich King was a long time ago.  We’re coming up on the 15th…

Return to the world of Azeroth....in Morrowind, for today we're showcasing World of Morrocraft's beta release for the continent of Northrend!

A project two years in the making, World of Morrocraft aims to bring the realms of Azeroth to the game-world of Morrowind, largely using Morrowind assets to provide a new interpretation on the classic locations and environments found in World of Warcraft.

Tel Shadow's ambitious personal project, this beta release includes a mostly exterior complete continent of Northrend, covering the regional zones of the Borean Tundra, Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills, Crystalsong Forest, Icecrown, Storm Peaks, Sholazar Basin, and Lake Wintergrasp.

But this release is still exteriors only, no NPCs or enemies have been included yet, though NPCing and creatures might be included in the next update along with the zones Zul'Drak and Howling Fjord.

As a note, it needs to be emphasized that this is an interpretation of Northrend, not a 1:1 remaking of Northrend from World of Warcraft. Some things are different, like the city of Dalaran isn't floating in this version (due to performance issues), so keep in mind it won't look exactly the same (nor could it while primarily using Morrowind assets).

But either way, this is a really impressive project, with tons of verticality, and while there's not much gameplay just yet, the landscapes are a visual delight that manages to capture some of that nostalgic MMO magic!

"yall dumb as fuck, the new northrend book says fighting still is going on in wintergrasp. lmao." the Exploring books are dogshit that are like someone just flying over the zones in-game and writing what they see, the Kalimdor one is straight up describing Cata-era storylines that are resolved in questing. if they do one for Kul Tiras it'll claim that the majority of Drustvar is in the hands of the coven still, the books are worthless.

@superanonymousthethird it's really funny you said that because i've had multiple of either lirath or alleria's grandkids declare their love for sylvanas. it's such an unfortunate side effect of crusader kings being crusader kings. the good news is that from what i can tell house windrunner is clean, which is relieving. we're fighting tooth and nail to keep this family tree from becoming a family wreath!

update on quel'thalas! we're looking mighty today. my next goal is to completely conquer the eastern kingdoms. B's set their sights on the broken shore.

the bloodtotems killed one of alleria's children, and sylvanas acted true to her character and started a blood feud.

terrible news. we cannot avoid tragedy. alleria and sylvanas are now the only two windrunner siblings left.

we ended up hyberdizing our culture with red dragons, and now alleria has a sick ass title!

honestly is this why blizzard wont let these two actually get along? they're too powerful together.

sylvanas got a little booboo on her face in that battle. it didn't end up scarring, though.

here are sylvanas' current stats, she has too many traits for the game to display and a diplomacy score that, as B put it, is 100% not canon.

Events!

two of sylvanas' troll vassals tried to sleep with her during one of her grand tours. the scream i scrumpt when suddenly there were two naked troll men on my screen

the aqir union kept changing names so we ended up calling it the "fuck the windrunners" union. 27 total countries joined it, including khaz modan.

so far i have saved the kal'dorei empire's ass 3 times, singlehandedly.

the "fuck the windrunners" union could call their allies into offensive wars. we could not. this caused many problems.

eventually we decided that something had to be done. alleria assassinated the then-leader of the union, the emperor of the shao-tien, and in the 3rd invasion of the kal'dorei lands, as i went to defend our allies and stall our enemy-- she struck, declaring war to shatter the realm of the union leader, who happened to be wintergrasp all the way up in northrend. it was an incredible plan.

we somehow managed to make rivals of the bronze dragonflight, who keep trying to assassinate both of us. it won't work, but it is very annoying.

one of alleria's husbands dropped their child off at my court for me to raise. neither of us have any idea why this happened, but at least it's canon compliant

alleria keeps getting pregnant. she has 10 children now.

alleria's husbands also keep trying to kill our family members. i've suggested to B that maybe they should stop marrying men.

i think sylvanas has a thing for tauren women. she's wanted to seduce multiple of them now.

people keep trying to blackmail alleria and sylvanas by saying they'll reveal that they, the publicly known murderers, killed people. this is doubly funny considering sylvanas is not just a known murderer, but a kinslayer too.

a windrunner married into the bronzebeards!

most of azeroth's courts speak goblin. for some reason.

So my friend (B) and I realized that the Warcraft mod for Crusader Kings 3 (Guardians of Azeroth 2, its very cool) updated recently with a few new mechanics. We had a longer running game where I played as Sylvanas and B played as Vereesa, but that game had gotten so slow it refused to run. So, we decided, why not restart? We picked the earliest start point, I picked Sylvanas and B picked Alleria.

Interesting moments from our game so far:

alleria becoming a witch and then instantly turning sylvanas into a witch

me: SOMEBODY IS PLOTTING AGAINST MY SIS--- wait. is it you?

B: yeah its me LOL

sylvanas has ptsd, feels canon

zul'jin and sylvanas ended up becoming rivals. sylvanas lost this duel so hard she had a mental breakdown, which led to her becoming a gym rat

B: Is our grandpa spending our legacy points? me: No... Wait. *I* am the family heir. B: Wait, really? Oh.... me: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

the scream i scrumpt, i was just trying to get her to not hate me after grandpapa's untimely demise

i saw this and was like. bro we have to take this man down, this is the last straw

cant avoid tragedy. at least lireesa's still alive?

other fun moments:

me deflecting the windrunner curse like my life depends on it. i dont know where all these men are coming from but BACK YOU VILE BEASTS

lirath's wife tried to kill him. in retrospect, her name was shar so i should've known this would've happened.

our uncle threw shit on me (because i killed grandpapa) so sylvanas now has the nickname "the Stinky". i will figure out how to change this, but unfortunately uncle paus windrunner will never see this >:)

i have a permanent religion debuff because B made a new religion that made polygamy holy, and sylvanas has a permanent "refusing to marry" trait

conversely, alleria has 3 husbands who wont stop accusing her of cheating despite polygamy being legal and encouraged

sylvanas finally ended up hooking up with a random elven woman in the woods during a hunt. good for her.

arthas somehow ended up being alleria's prisoner. he was in prison for 16 years before either of us realized it happened.

most of the original warcraft cast is dead. it has only been like 50 years. neither of us have any idea how this happened.

We had done the Headless Horseman for the day and run another battle for Wintergrasp, which we had won, having dodged the Horde pre-made group again, and were looking for something to do.  We had a short group, so we were not going to be able to face any heroics ourselves and we never fill out the group with rando DPS.  We tend to be slow in instances, our runs interrupted by things like the need…
