When The Last Titan drops...
and we go back to Northrend, I wonder what the new capital will be for the expansion. I doubt they'll go with Dalaran again, so operating on the assumption that we'll be using an existing location, I think that the likely options will be...
Grizzlemaw - now ruled over by Furbolgs that are finally purified
Zul'Drak/Gundrak - Could easily see surviving Drakkari finally banding together to rebuild, and maybe opening up to the other factions to ensure survival/out of desperation. I like to think it would be a coalition of living and undead trolls
Wintergrasp - Finally find some greater use for it
Moa'ki Harbor - According to Exploring Northrend, the largest Tuskarr settlement since losing Kaskala
Kaskala - Finally reclaimed
Pal'ea - According to Exploring Northrend, has been reclaimed by the Tuskarr and is currently expanding
Isle of Conquest
Strand of the Ancients
Azjol-Nerub - Not too sure about this one considering what's going on in tWW, but I feel like it's a fair possibility
Coldarra/the Nexus
Crystalsong Forest - Unlikely, but I could see them rebuilding in the Highborne Ruins, especially if they go with a Dalaran connection and the elven factions. Doubt it though, considering the expansion before this will be so Elf-focused
Didn't consider any Storm Peaks locations, considering that it seems we'll be fighting the Titans who will be based out of Ulduar, or Icecrown locations, considering I doubt that anybody would choose that. Sholazar also has Titan connections and also no locations that seem like they would fit for a capital city.

Crypt Fiends Theme | World of Warcraft Song | Instrumental | Azeroth Archives Music
Crypt fiends, once rulers of the ancient spider kingdom Azjol-Nerub, were resurrected as mummified insectoid slaves of the Lich King's undead Scourge army after their defeat in Northrend, and now fight for the Scourge across the frozen continent and beyond.

Rushing Through Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom
Rushing Through Ahn’kahet: The Old Kingdom
After getting through Azjol Nerub we took a bit of a break to get everybody to level 74 and Dalaran, so spent some time running the group quests in Dragonblight and Borean Tundra to get the group boosted up. We managed to get that setup and spent a bit going off to get a flight point off in the Snow Peaks before decided we had a bit of time and thinking maybe we should hit the next dungeon, just…

Sal and Arthur were on a trip. But then Sal sees someone she recognizes :3
They have no choice but to hide in Azjol-Nerub, where they can avoid them. But there are things in the dark that don't take kindly to strangers. Out of the frying pan, and into a different, spider-shaped frying pan!
Send me a creepy scenario/location and character(s) and I’ll write a drabble for it.
Well this was certainly not the place she would have thought the two of them would end up at. Granted, compared to some of the other zones in Northrend, Dragonblight was one of the more protected regions. It was hard to deny that the home tower and realms of the dragonflights would mean their kind would keep this place, and the surrounding area well guarded. Besides, since the dismantle of much of the Scourge army, there wasn’t much of a threat via the undead here.
So long as the two of them stuck to the path, there wouldn’t be anything to worry about.
Arthur and Salena walked side by side, as if they were equal soldiers. Travel would have been easier if she were to use her vial, but that was not effective when one of the two of them was afraid of heights. Another option would be to resort to using a mount, but unless her friend had some kind of prior riding knowledge, that was also not going to be effective. She didn’t trust having him ride behind her with the risk of him touching her back, and she was shorter than him, making him sitting in front of her pointless.
So walking it was.
They were nearing the border towards the Borean Tundra, another place that was relatively untouched by the Scourge, but had its own problems. Nothing the two of them couldn’t handle, and again, so long as they remained on the path, there shouldn’t be any issue. Besides, there was a relatively small tavern some distance in at a gnome outpost they could take a moment to rest at.
For a majority of the journey, it had simply been the two of them conversing, whether it be about their craft, the whole of Dragonblight, or just them poking at one another. She had taken the opportunity to flick the ponytail Arthur had fashioned himself in before coming here. While a bit strange for someone with such a spiky hair style, and one that always seemed to point up, he did manage to pull it off in her opinion.
Their conversation was interrupted when she stopped short, her ears picking up a sound in the distance. Clopping… the sound of hooves against stone… That was a sound she was familiar with, but who else might be out here in dragonblight? They were getting along the path to Star’s Rest, so perhaps someone from there? Couldn’t be a patrol from the Ebon Blade… and as far as she knew, many of those in the Alliance and the Horde were not too interested in the resources out here anymore.
Arthur seemed to give her a confused look when she turned to him, though that was an expression she also shared. Perhaps it truly was no one more than a resident at the passing outpost.
The sight of the riders though… Paladins…
Ordinarily, she could push aside her resentment of their ‘kind’ in order to be on her way, but she could see the way their helmets were turning towards her. Her ears pinned back… this was bad… It was bad enough when Light users recognized the saronite armor, and the symbol that represented the Knights of the Ebon Blade… but what struck worse was they seemed to recognize her.
And she vaguely recognized them.
It was often hard to tell the people who followed him by their faces when they were usually covered in armor, but certain choices about their designs were able to stand out to her… and these two held that same attention to white and gold like he did.
The clopping sound began to grow louder. She had to make a decision right now. Turning and running down the path was only going to delay the inevitability of them catching up. She could always run and divert them away from Arthur, but despite his knowledge of this place, she didn’t trust him to have all the combative knowledge to survive out here… plus he would be stranded without a way back home. Trying to run past them was not a good option either, and taking off into the woods would have its own risks…
The way she saw it, that left only one option to ensure they would lose the paladins.
Salena spun on her feet, pushing Arthur towards the hill behind them, “Start climbing, and as quick as you can preferably.”
He could see the worry in her face, something that rarely seemed to come out when all of them were together, or hell even when she was alone with one of them. He did as she instructed, but one look up the hill made him question her choice, “But up there is-”
“I’m well aware of what’s up there. Believe me, if there was a smarter choice, I’d have taken it. Just trust me and move.”
The both of them began their fleeing, her ears turned almost completely behind her to listen to the hooves change from stone to snow. Compared to them on the ground, they were going to make more noise. With any luck, her and Arthur could sneak around enough to draw their attention to the paladins. All they would then have to do was lay low long enough to have them leave… or die… and then make their way back out.
The blond seemed to hesitate for a moment once they came to the openings in the ground at the top of the hill. There were a few nerubians standing guard outside, their heads turning at the sound of the fast approaching horses. A low growl rumbled in her throat as she raced ahead, jumping into one of the larger holes. She turned back to the opening, seeing Arthur peer over the edge, “Jump!”
All he had to do was trust her. Please…
He leapt from his spot, her back claws digging into the ground to harden her stance. Her arms reached up, catching the human before he could hit the ground. All that armor was going to make him not only fall faster, but hit harder once he landed. She could handle the weight as well as the initial jump. This was her home world after all. She adjusted him in her arms, holding him bridal style before turning her gaze back to the opening. She could hear the alarm in the horses’ calls, but a few guards were not going to be enough to hold them off… not for too long.
And once they got off the horses… or found the large opening inside, they would be on their trail once again. Her tail lashed behind her as she made another decision. She spun on her feet, carrying her friend towards what looked like an underground mouth of a cave. Deal with the nerubians would be far easier than paladins armed to the teeth and will spells that could cripple her…
Which would leave Arthur trying to deal with zealots who would not listen to reason on his own.
She couldn’t do that to him.
Granted, this option would also be putting him in danger, but the odds were stacked more in their favor so long as she had the ability to fight back. And surely even paladins wouldn’t be stupid enough to follow into a place infested with this species on their own. They probably thought her foolish for making such a choice, and seeing her go so deep would hopefully make them believe she would get them both killed on her own.
She stopped once she came to the end of a slope, and also when protestive wiggling began to increase from her arms. She set her friend down, her head turning back the way they had come. Her body tensed, not exactly keen on the place she’d dropped both of them. With an attack going on outside, and two outsiders at the doors of their underground kingdom, the nerubians were sure to come running for them.
And just as much, she had to make sure their pursuers were not still chasing them.
It wasn’t hard to pick up on the sound of them climbing along the stone walls and coming up the pathway behind the two of them. Her fur stood up, Arthur moving closer to her. Neither one of them were afraid for themselves… but rather for each other. Predictable.
She managed to get her hands on her blades, pulling them out, her friend following similarly. Webs began to shoot from their mouths, aiming for both of them. Her experience and reflexes made dodging and slicing the material easier… but the same could not be said for Arthur. She didn’t know just how well he’d do in this kind of situation, against an enemy he had only seen so long ago. This was not a game anymore.
Web stuck to his armor, pulling him away from his friend. He raised his sword to slice it off him, but another stuck to the blade. He tugged on it, but the more web that piled in that one spot made it harder and harder to get free. Her head turned over to him, ears falling down. Of course he would get caught, and he wouldn’t distract her by trying to call for help. He acted… just like she did…
Her attention left their attackers temporarily, closing the space between the two of them. Her blade began making work of the individual strands of web attached to Arthur’s blade, working to get him free. As she was, she felt a tug on her own blade, one of them snagged like his own was. Her growl turned into a snarl, both of them starting to fight the webs to get free, more seeming to pile on with each new addition. She could feel more tugging on her end, turning her head around to see them pulling her away from Arthur.
And it was the opportunity they were waiting for to get some web around her jaws.
They were coming closer and closer… Deep, yet scratchy, voices echoing around them.
“What do we have here? A beast and a human?”
“Not just any beast. A little scourge soldier.”
“Scourge? After all of them being wiped out?”
“It would seem there are still a few stragglers left.”
Curse this miserable existence… why did the Lich King have to make so many damn enemies in Northrend…?
Her head turned to the side, Arthur still putting up a fight even as the webs started to encase him, his weapon laying on the ground. No… not him… she would not fail him… not anyone… not again…!
Her eyes glowed, her unbound feet stomping to the dirt. She had to be extremely careful with this. The wrong spot for any of these, and she could end up doing more harm than good. Her eyes sparked with more power, feeling the webs around her growing tighter. Guess the sight of a death knight’s defining feature made them more than a little terrified. She focused on him, the ground around Arthur starting to freeze. Spikes of ice began to rise up from the ground, two at the sides to slice the web, and the rest to bathe in nerubian blood.
The ice, thankfully, only managed to tear along her friend’s armor, leaving him unharmed. All he had to do now was pull himself out from his binds.
Which left her to struggle with her own situation. Guess now that she was labeled a threat, binding her was the smarter option. Bright blue her eyes glowed, what movement she had left stretching her arms for the others, attacking their inner systems… and while it was able to slow them down, it was not enough to make the remaining stop, nor more from coming to their aid.
Fine… so long as she could get Arthur out…
But then again, that never was his style.
She felt her own bonds loosen, a normal blade coming down on the sticky material. She had freed him… and he had freed her. The two exchanged a glance before cleaning off their weapons while they had a chance. They stood back to back, but enough space that Arthur was not pressed against her back. The stance itself brought back a feeling of nostalgia…
They could survive this.

The Nerubian empire being in a tundra always made me wonder why Blizzard chose such a weird place for spider people. In the unlikely event that spiders do end up living in the tundra, it likely wouldn't be for very long. Spiders are more likely to survive in forests, where they would hibernate in the winter, or in the case of some species, simply die and while the next generation of spiderkin mature and head off to eat ALL the insects. Spiders like warmer climates best, because that's where the food is most likely to be. In WoW's case? You bet your ass there's insects in warm places.
Tumblr media
Logically, Silithus would be where the Nerubians should be. It's warm, there's no shortage of food, and look at that, they think they have an empire. Ohhh, child.
Logic isn't the only reason I think of Silithus when I think of the Nerubian empire. When I hear Abub'arak--or read it, I guess--one name comes to mind: Anubis, god of the afterlife. I don't know if Blizzard meant to invoke this when they created Anub'arak, and heaven knows that there are more blatant images of Anubis in the Ahn'Qiraj raids, but it still springs to mind. It doesn't help that the Nerubian empire uses powerful colors in their empire when we go to Azjol-Nerub. Black, blues, greens, and most striking to me, purple. (And no, I cannot show you an image, mostly because the screenshots I've taken of the dungeon are focused more on my character than on the architecture. Sorry!)
Now, purple doesn't just pop out at me because it's my favorite color. It's also because, in WoW, it's invocative of shadow magic, which we've seen primarily in Twilight's Hammer, who fucking love Silithus. Their robes are a dark violet, dark enough to the point where I wonder if some of them died from heat exhaustion, and the crystals around Silithus are a rusty purple-ish hue. The parallel of a spider empire and an insectoid one are not lost on me either, and that's something I believe Blizzard intended (though whether or not they were successful with this intention is up to the reader).
Now, as much as I love Wrath of the Lich King, I do think that with the Nerubian Empire and its remainders, few that they were, should not have been in Northrend. We already had the Scourge, an old god, more trolls, dragons, and proto-humans. Not every expansion needs to have ALL THE LORE crammed in, as too much on one's plate can lead to people not wanting to eat at all (which is a common complaint I hear about Cataclysm, that there was way too much going on). If it were me, I would have the Nerubian Empire, or what remained of it, in Silithus. Instead of night elf buildings in the area, there would be Nerubian. There would be a constant war, ever shifting with the sands, between the Qiraji and the Nerubians. The night elves, in my humble opinion, would be wise enough to stay out of that, but would still monitor it. After all, the victor could and probably would be their next enemy. Hell, even the dragons would probably stay out of it, though they would watch from the skies.
Back to Anub'arak now. In Wrath, he's undead. He's been dead for a long time, and Ner'zhul decided to raise him from death and force him and his minions into servitude. The ones who are alive despise the Scourge and see Anub'arak as a traitor. The undead ones, well, they probably don't really think. Except for Anub'arak himself, since he's actually able to speak and not just hiss and skitter and kill. Northrend is rife with undeath, but it's not as commonly seen in Silithus. Yes, there are the ghosts of sentinels and druids, but those are more spirits who have unfinished business. That is not to say, however, that something cannot be undead in Silithus.
Enter Moam.
Tumblr media
This thing is not undead, but what it is is a living statue. It was built by Emperor Vek'lor as a Destroyer that would put all others to shame. Apparently he succeeded, too, because this guy's a boss in the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj. The reason I bring this up, though, is because it started out as a statue, something that was inanimate and not alive in the slightest. But C'thun gave it life, and it became a living statue. To me, that isn't all that different from giving a corpse life. I'm not talking a fresh corpse, such as someone who is dead for ten minutes tops. I'm talking dead-dead. Like, mummy dead. Not being able to be revived even as a miracle dead. You get the idea, I'm sure. With this in mind, this would work for an undead Nerubian and his minions to once again rise from the depths of the sands, or hell, just remain underground and be forced into servitude of their enemies. Well, the leader of their enemies, I guess. But I still like idea of at least one Qiraji being a dick about it and having the Nerubian "servants" do the menial work. And Anub'arak? Oh yes, you can be damned sure there would be hell for him to pay.
Now, theoretically, this could go on for some time. Let's say the Qiraji were more vindictive about it, and they end up torturing some Nerubians to death (again). C'thun could bring them back to "life," but I don't think he would do this forever. C'thun, remember, is using the Qiraji, and their bullshit would probably not interest him. Why should he fix their toys if they're just going to keep breaking them? He doesn't care about their petty egos. He wants the world. Let's say Anub'arak does die again, and the Qiraji ask C'thun once again for him to be raised. C'thun does so, but he also brings back Anub'arak's intelligence. No longer is this beast a mindless slave. Oh, and he remembers the humiliating defeat, as well as the tortures from his previous lives. He ain't here to do the clean-up anymore, unless it means cleaning the Ruins of Ahn'qiraj of all this insectoid filth.
Now, imagine this in-game. It would be big, I think, because Silithus was pretty huge when the questline and raids were released. Imagine walking into the Ruins, and doing it as normal, with the possible hints here and there that there's something going on at the temple that was not meant to. Of course, this piques the interest of the player, and probably their characters as well. RP-wise, this has a lot of potential. Going into the Temple, it's an entirely different scene. It's all-out war between the Nerubians and the Qiraji. You could potentially pick a side, with a Qiraji quest-giver on one side of the entrance, and a Nerubian one on the other. Choosing one over the other would lead you to be Neutral with the side you choose, and Hated with the side you're against. You could also choose not to accept either quest, but this would make the raid harder, as you'd have Qiraji AND Nerubians coming after you (whether or not the loot would effect this, I don't know; loot in vanilla WoW was random as all hell, and any kind of increase in drops were practically negligent).
The quest you choose would lead to a cutscene, which would be a convenient way to load the raid so you would fight the appropriate bosses. The cutscene would basically be the NPC talking about war and them and rewards and blah blah, you're clearly evil, but so are they, so give me shinies. The camera would pan through the temple, showing Qiraji and Nerubians fighting to the death, and showing the appropriate bosses where they would be, whether they were Qiraji or Nerubian. If the raid leader did not choose a quest, however, the raid would be presented as thus: there would still be fighting amongst Nerubians and Qiraji, but once aggro'd, both would attack the raid. The bosses would all likely have scenes. For example, Prophet Skeram and a Nerubian prophet. They would be bickering and hissing at each other, both wanting to stop the raid as it enters, but wanting to do so for Qiraji/Nerubian. Each boss would have a different loot table, but only one would be fought (no, we are not doing Twin Emperor fights for every raid boss, that is suicide). Depending on which one is aggro'd, the other would fuck off, basically saying something along the lines of "I hope it hurts for you as much as it has me" or maybe "I'll enjoy watching this." I dunno, I'm not good at boss one-liners.
The Prophet Skeram/The Prophet... Thoth'ax? (Look, I'm trying here, okay?) Silithid Royalty/Nerubian Miners Battleguard Sartura/Silkcloak Obzor Fankriss the Undying/Lykho'sedat the Patient Viscidus (seriously, though, fuck that thing, go frost or go home, I guess) Princess Huhuran/The Silver Bones Twin Emperors/Anub'arak Ouro/Scorpio? C'thun
I'm not going to go through every boss encounter with painstaking detail (although if there is interest in it, I'll definitely come up with attacks and strategies!). This is just a basic idea of what players and characters are going to end up facing. Either way ends up leading to C'thun, but once C'thun is down, in comes the quest giver, crawling in and skittering up to the party. He thanks you, for whatever that's worth, and you get rep boost (in addition to the reputation you have gained and lost from killing one side instead of the other), but something unsaid also happens. A quartermaster is present in the entrance of the dungeon, next to the questgiver, when entered a second time. Of course, vanilla wasn't known for giving out tons of reputation, it was all about the grind, you get to see what wears are being sold to you that you can get in exchange for what drops from mobs and bosses. Of course, this would be gated by reputation, with the best loot being available at Exalted, but starting at Neutral, you can get food/drink and potions that would give you a minor boost on some fights (+10 shadow resistance, for example, or a bonus to HP). For the Neutral goodies, it would require "shells" that drop from trash mobs. Starting at Friendly, you'll need drops from bosses, because that's when you start getting the good stuff. Weapons, armor, rings, trinkets. Relics and totems, too, because druids and shamans need love, too. Maybe off-hands as well, but I don't remember off-hands being used prominently in vanilla.
As always, I would love to hear feedback!

GSR Story Intro Banner
Sergeant Vikstone is an incredible Night Elf veteran getting back in the wake of battling a few missions against the Horde and the Burning Legion. Vikstone finds that the Lich King is liable for killing each enduring individual from his faction during the occasions of The Burning Crusade. His family was the remainder of an antiquated bloodline, based upon the principles of the Warrior.
You presumably believe you're very solid — battling these undead and smashing their bones underneath your war machines. That isn't anything contrasted with the quality it took to make them.
MATTHIAS LEHNER
Pledges to retaliate for them, he goes to the landmass of Northrend on a last mission to stop the Lich King, a substance the Vrykuls called "the God of Death." In this new world, he ends up in the center of one of Azeroth's most dangerous wars. Vikstone makes his important change all through the excursion so as to execute what's left of Arthas Menethil. In his journey to increase enough capacity to one day face the Lich King, he addresses his own feeling of profound quality as he chops down everybody and all that hinders him.
History has given him that anybody can be murdered, even the Lich King.
Vikstone started his story at level 70 after the occasions of The Burning Crusade. His development in gear, ability specializations (Arms, Fury, Protection) and appearances are completely caught in an ordered manner as he advances through the mission lines, from Borean Tundra to Icecrown on the Terokkar domain (around 2008-2009). It is the best endeavor of his military vocation. Experience the whole story of Wrath of the Lich King through his eyes.
More than 50 unique players help him in significant supervisor battles and first class journeys all through the game, a cycle that took more than 22,000 screen captures to catch.
Fierceness of the Lich King is the tale of Arthas' requital. His wrongdoings are uncovered to Vikstone all through the story in his few showdowns with the Lich King, before the last encounter. It is extremely unlikely to recount the tale of Arthas Menethil without recounting the tale of Vikstone.

The Undead Scourge and the naga additionally occupy the zone. Significant milestones of the district incorporate the tuskarr capital of Kaskala and the Riplash Ruins. Coldarra is an island simply off the coast. Kaskala is right now under attack and the tuskarr have moved to Unu'pe.
Wailing Fjord Quests
The Howling Fjord is a zone situated in southeastern Northrend. Torn into the southern coastline lies Daggercap Bay, where the powers of Arthas initially arrived on the mainland. Abandoned by the youthful sovereign, the 5,000-in number undertaking set up the station of Valgarde. The little settlement has since gotten the focal point of Alliance action on Northrend. Other Alliance stations incorporate Westguard Keep and Fort Wildervar.
Also read here more about the best pc games.
Dragonblight Quests
The Dragonblight, additionally called the Great Dragonblight, is an extraordinary monster memorial park, situated in Northrend. The passageway to the nerubian realm of Azjol-Nerub can be found in the mid-west part, while the secretive Wyrmrest Temple lives in the center. The magnataur town of Bloodmar lies here additionally, just as the destroyed taunka capital of Icemist Village, and the nerubian meeting of Sundered Monolith. The Forsaken base of Venomspite, just as the Human fortress of Wintergarde Keep are situated toward the east. The Scourge bastion of Naxxramas is gliding in the skies above Wintergarde.
Grizzly Hills Quests
The Grizzly Hills, situated in southeastern Northrend, is a forested territory, encircled by the Howling Fjord toward the south, the Dragonblight toward the west and Zul'Drak toward the north. It is the country of the Grizzlemaw furbolgs. More than 20,000 furbolgs live in this zone, most in the enormous settlement of Grizzlemaw. Both the dwarven settlement of Thor Modan and Ice Troll/Scourge post of Drak'Tharon Keep can be found in the north. The principle group bases are Amberpine Lodge for the Alliance and Conquest Hold for the Horde.
Sholazar Basin Quests
Sholazar Basin is a tropical wilderness bowl amidst Northrend. It is found between Borean Tundra and Icecrown Glacier. The zone's atmosphere and wellbeing from the Scourge is kept up by arches, raised by the Titans. As of late, one arch in the east has fallen and the Scourge has accepted this open door to attack from Icecrown toward the north. They are currently gushing down The Avalanche.
Note:Also read here more about World of warcraft.
Zul'Drak Quests
Zul'Drak is a region situated in eastern Northrend. It is home to the Drakkari ice savages and their Frost King Malakk just as the littler savages of the Winterfang clan. Their capital is the city of Gundrak. Zul'Drak has a place with the Drakkari, who wander in chasing parties looking for prey. Old savage remnants are flung over the open country and the Scourge drifts just past the western outskirt, hanging tight for an opportunity to strike.
Atmosphere savvy, Zul'Drak is the least wonderful of the eastern districts. It's colder than the Grizzly Hills or the Howling Fjord, less magnificent than the Storm Peaks, and more swarmed than any of them – with a large portion of the group being Drakkari. Most different races evade this area, and in light of current circumstances. Explorers don't have to go there for section north or south — they can adhere to the Grizzly Hills, which encompass Zul'Drak on the two sides and arrive at all the path up to Crystalsong Forest and Storm Peaks. The main explanation anybody would need to visit Zul'Drak is on the off chance that they were pioneers planning to meet the Drakkari — and they better have an enormous gathering of outfitted heroes with them when they do.
The Storm Peaks Quests
The Storm Peaks are a mountain range and zone situated in the upper east of Northrend. It is the place a puzzling race of goliaths named the tempest monsters live. The third known titan city of Ulduar is additionally situated here. The breezes that tear through the mountains are incredibly savage and hazardous.
Icecrown Quests
Icecrown, otherwise called Ice Crown, is a zone made out of generally Icecrown Glacier and the quick territory around it. Icecrown is encircled by mountains toward the south. The ground is neither solidified earth nor secured with day off; is strong ice. Consequently, nothing becomes here.
Supervisor Fights and Guest Appearances
Highlighted in Boss Fights and Guest Appearances are outstanding individuals from my society Trinity Exiles and the numerous individual players who were on the Terokkar domain during that time. For an enormous bit of the experiences, it was all unconstrained, with irregular players offering to assist Vikstone, and the other way around. In the event that you played World of Warcraft in 2009 on this worker, you may be in one of the accompanying missions. One of my significant inspirations to bring back this guide was to deify my companions, a considerable lot of whom I could never find the opportunity to play with again. To me they will consistently be "Terokkar's best."
Epilog
With regards to this story, does Vikstone actually slaughter the Lich King, retaliate for his family, and spare Azeroth from certain pulverization?
It's lovely to think so.
One can essentially attempt to comprehend what Blizzard planned to speak to with Northrend. To me, it represented the subject of recovery and the possibility of Valhalla, where all champions killed in battle seek to go in Norse folklore to eat with the Gods. I needed to leave the completion of this story open, since it was the excursion that made it advantageous. As a Night Elf, Vikstone was undying to time simply like the Lich King yet at long last there would be just one man left standing. With regards to who was ethically directly in his activities, Vikstone was merciless, chopping down large number of NPCs and players all through his lifetime. His choice to battle the Lich King would have implied unavoidable passing and hence forever end his family's bloodline. He was set up to make it his last demonstration, maybe to get requital for his own violations and monstrosities that he had submitted in past missions. Was there any acceptable left in Arthas Menethil's heart? Was any man genuinely past the scope of absolution? It was an inquiry that would consistently wait in Vikstone's heart as he ended up falling into a similar obscurity that happened to Arthas.
In my heart I like to think Vikstone in the long run prevails on his last mission, pulverizes Ner'zhul, and liberates the spirit of Matthias Lehner so he can pick up recovery for his transgressions and enter Valhalla.
The last resting spot of a genuine hero.

Warcraft Lore behind Arthas return to Northrend in Warcraft 3
Frozen Throne Seizures
Several months after Archimonde's defeat, Arthas experienced painful seizures that coincided with the weakening of the Lich King's power. During a battle against human refugees led by the paladins Halahk the Lifebringer, Magroth the Defender, and Dagren the Orcslayer, Arthas had a debilitating seizure. Despite his diminished powers, he fought on until all the humans were killed, driven by the Lich King's urgent call.
Tumblr media
Betrayal and Revenge
The Lich King's weakening control allowed the dreadlords, left behind by Archimonde to oversee the Scourge, to plot against Arthas. As Arthas battled their forces in the capital city, he received visions warning him of betrayal. Sylvanas, now free from the Lich King's control, attempted to exact her revenge on Arthas. However, she was thwarted by Kel'Thuzad, who stepped in and chased her off with his forces.
Tumblr media
Return to Northrend
The Lich King's mental cries pierced Arthas' mind, urging him to return to Northrend and protect the Frozen Throne from demonic forces, later revealed to be Illidan and the naga. Arthas immediately prepared his fleet and set sail, leaving Kel'Thuzad behind to watch over Lordaeron.
Tumblr media
Trials in the Frozen North
Upon arriving in Northrend, Arthas faced vengeful blood elves led by Kael'thas. Alongside Anub'arak, he battled through nerubian survivors, faceless ones, and the powerful forgotten one in the ruins of Azjol-Nerub before reaching the surface.
After forcing their way past the horrors of the dark catacombs of Azjol-Nerub, Arthas and Anub'arak rendezvoused with their army at the peak of Icecrown Glacier, with the intention of claiming the Frozen Throne in the name of Ner'zhul. They were dismayed to find that Illidan's forces had already arrived, were well entrenched around the pinnacle of ice which contained the Lich King, and were poised to claim the four Icecrown Obelisks which when activated would open the prison.
Tumblr media
Battle for the Frozen Throne
Arthas and his army quickly wiped out a small naga outpost to the south west of the Frozen Throne and used the resources gathered from the ruins of Azjol-Nerub to establish their own base. From there, Arthas and Anub'arak launched their attack against Illidan, Prince Kael, and Lady Vashj. The battle raged back and forth across the glacier, with both sides taking and re-taking each of the obelisks. Although the undead were outnumbered, the biting cold and Arthas' considerable military prowess eventually turned the tide against Illidan. The blood elves and the naga were routed, and Arthas claimed all four obelisks, allowing him to approach the Frozen Throne.
Tumblr media
The Final Confrontation
In a last desperate effort to stop him, Illidan confronted the death knight at the entrance; after a short fight, Arthas cut the betrayer down, leaving him badly wounded in the snow. The Scourge had triumphed, and Arthas was now free to ascend the Frozen Throne and merge with the Lich King.
Tumblr media
Ascension and Merger
With Illidan defeated, Arthas shattered the Lich King's icy prison with Frostmourne. As he approached the armor encased in ice, the voices of those he had forsaken flooded his mind, including Muradin Bronzebeard, Uther, and Jaina. Ignoring them, Arthas donned the Lich King's helm, merging with Ner'zhul. As they became one, Arthas proclaimed, "Now, we are one," embracing his destiny as the new Lich King and completing his transformation into the dominant half of the new entity.

Chapter 7-8: A Symphony of Frost and Flame
Arthas has made it through the tunnels of Azjol-Nerub to the Icecrown Glacier.
Tumblr media
The battle for the Frozen Throne is about to begin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that this mission title is a reference to A Song of Ice and Fire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We need to control all four obelisks while preventing Illidan from doing the same. It doesn't sound that hard. Arthas starts at level 2, but has EXP gain enabled, allowing him to regain his lost levels.
Tumblr media
Before starting on that, we need to establish a base. This small naga base should be a good starting point.
Tumblr media
This is one of the only campaign missions where we have to build a base from scratch. These two Sacrificial Skulls can be used to create a small area of blight, which should help with establishing things quickly. More can be bought at the Tomb of Relics if needed.
Tumblr media
While we're doing that, Illidan will take control of the obelisks he has bases near. We can't really do anything to stop him right now.
Tumblr media
All the gold we picked up in Azjol-Nerub also helps for getting this base up and running.
Tumblr media
As soon as I finished that, I sent Arthas down to the south obelisk. It's the closest one to our base. To capture it, Arthas needs to channel at the obelisk circle for 30 seconds. It's important to bring an escort, as he is quite vulnerable during this time.
Tumblr media
One down, three to go. We'll need a lot of protection for this one.
Tumblr media
Illidan snatched up another, and we can also spot a blood elf attack wave heading for our main.
Tumblr media
I decided to build a secondary base near the south obelisk, as there's a gold mine nearby. A lot of the terrain here isn't buildable on, making laying out our buildings kind of difficult.
Tumblr media
Illidan has three obelisks to our one. We'll have to defend the last like our lives depend on it, because it does.
Tumblr media
And now the enemy heroes start showing up. Kael'thas leads the red blood elf faction, Illidan leads the blue naga, and Lady Vashj leads the teal naga. They're all level 10 and a major threat whenever they appear.
Tumblr media
Jaina is probably sitting in a café with Thrall right now, very glad over how she dumped you two losers.
Tumblr media
Illidan decided to attack me right after I dealt with Kael.
Tumblr media
He's the number 1 priority target whenever he appears, as only he can capture the obelisks. Unfortunately, he's not easy to bring down. His Evasion offers him a lot of survivability, and he'll burn our heroes' mana away with repeated Mana Burn casts. He'll also frequently use Metamorphosis for an HP boost. Taking him out gives a lot of EXP for Arthas and Anub'arak.
Tumblr media
I tried to move for the east obelisk after defeating him, but wasn't able to break through. I got Arthas and Anub'arak out of there before they fell.
Tumblr media
And after that, Lady Vashj decided to go say hello to my main.
Tumblr media
The second time I went for the east obelisk, I successfully claimed it. Two down, two to go.
Tumblr media
The most important part of this mission, in my opinion, is keeping Arthas and Anub'arak together. They both have a whole lot of survivability and access to self-healing moves, and the enemy heroes generally attack one at a time. Double teaming them allows us to take them down.
Tumblr media
We had to fend off another attack from Lady Vashj at the south obelisk. After dealing with her, I sent my troops up to help out Arthas and Anub'arak.
Tumblr media
They managed to fend of Illidan again, and held out until reinforcements arrived.
Tumblr media
Right after that, I made for the north obelisk.
Tumblr media
There's another one down.
Tumblr media
Illidan showed up again to try and reclaim this one, but we brought him down yet again.
Tumblr media
It was the perfect time to make a move for the last one.
Tumblr media
Now all we need to do is ensure that Arthas survives for the next 30 seconds.
Tumblr media
And the Frozen Throne is secured.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arthas lunges toward Illidan, and the two end up in a sword lock.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arthas retrieves Frostmourne as soon as he can.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Illidan drops his blades...
Tumblr media
...and awakens his inner demon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The finishing blow!
Tumblr media
Illidan lies splayed on the ground. According to later games he survived this, but this may or may not be a retcon.
Tumblr media
As Arthas ascends the steps to the Frozen Throne, echoes of his memories pass through his head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Lich King speaks from within the ice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a loud yell, Arthas moves to strike the throne.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arthas has become the new Lich King.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That concludes the story of The Frozen Throne.
Tumblr media
The end credits feature Arthas rocking out to Level 10 60 70 80 85 800 Elite Tauren Chieftain's single "Power of the Horde."
Tumblr media
"STORM! Black clouds fill the sky!"
Tumblr media
"EARTH! I hear my fans all cry!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"FIRE! Thunder will bring forth!"
Tumblr media
"DEATH! From the power of the Horde!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arthas gets a cool lightning effect on him for the guitar solo.
Tumblr media
For the rest of the (rather long) credits we can see artwork of the different units.
Tumblr media
Plus some older concept art that was used for the original version of the game.
Tumblr media
Even after all that, we're still not done. The Horde campaign is a side story unconnected to any of the others, and was mainly written as a prequel to the then-upcoming World of Warcraft. It also has a very different structure than the prior campaigns, which we'll see when we get into it.
