I am thinking again about how much 'timelines don't exist, canon isn't real, the comics don't keep track so why should I' annoys me, and it's like:-
Generally this is not true, if you're talking about a particular timeline. Pre-Crisis from the Bronze Age onwards is largely coherent, taken as a whole. Post-Crisis is pretty coherent. New 52's problems largely relate to 'what happened prior to #1' more than outright timeline contradictions in the stories between 2011-2016. Rebirth and Infinite Frontier has become more difficult, given that titles reference each other less frequently, but within a title it remains coherent.
Many of the most bumpy timeline issues are when you transition from one canon to another (particularly with regards to titles that got away with running 'across' the reboot, such as NTT or Batwoman or Batman Inc). That's an artefact of reboots giving some titles special leeway as the retcons happened.
What people are usually complaining about is 'something got retconned' rather than 'the books don't know what order events happened in'. Situations like 'explain Donna Troy's backstory' doesn't have a timeline issue; it has a retcon issue in that she now has multiple mutually exclusive backstories to deal with the fact that NTT was allowed to run across COIE while Diana got rebooted, and so on.
There are in fact situations with timeline issues but usually those are in regards to 'untangle the order events happened in during an Event' not big periods of time. Explaining the order of events in Batman RIP and Final Crisis is something that has timeline issues, in terms of 'when did Bruce disappear from Gotham in respect of Final Crisis' and 'when did Talia arrive with Damian' and so on. However, there's no issues with the relationship of 'did these events happen before or after Batman RIP and Final Crisis'. That in itself is clear. Trying to put DC One Million issues in order is a timeline issue. Whether a story took place before or after DC One Million is mostly a case of looking at the issue number.
And adding all of this up: the reason I tend not to have a lot of respect for 'teeheehee DC doesn't care about canon so why should I' in a fic is that whenever people just decide to ignore things and make three things that happened in three separate decades happen simultaneously, they ALSO don't bother to spend any time looking at how this changed events. You know what? I don't care if you want to make Tim 14 for when Jason returns to Gotham. Go right ahead. But if you're going to do that, can you acknowledge you're writing a canon divergence AU and at least GESTURE to which events that ACTUALLY happened when Tim was 14 just got derailed because Jason is back. (Like Underworld Unleashed. You want even more angst/chaos from Bruce? Have Jason turn back up in Gotham immediately after UU)

also any recs for flashfam (mainly wally and barry) i lovee the flash + green lantern relationship and wally is just my FAVV
omg im so sorry it took me like a decade to answer this
so! my flashfam recs is the most predictable list of all time. pretty much flash (1987) and impulse (1995) are the must reads. specifically if u want to read The Saga Of The Flash from the eighties to mid-2000s just go ahead and read through all of flash v2 <3 that's pretty much all you need. although that's all wally so if you're interested in barry then you'd have to go back to flash vol 1 from the silver age before he died in coie. barry did come back to life in flash rebirth (not the publishing initiative dc rebirth, the 2009 flash miniseries lol. ik it's confusing). if you want to read modern barry then you can start there and... um... read new52 flash? i guess? though i would not recommend it lol. i would honestly just skip to flash v5 #1 (rebirth era, where williamson started writing it). it's still not my favorite or anything but it's the best showing from modern barry and it kinda brings flash & the flashfam as a whole into its modern status quo. i am a wally gal through and through so i am definitely not as qualified to talk on barry
#ive gone into more specific flash recs in my comic recs/ask tag if you want to check it out!#i don't have much on barry & hal unfortunately.. i imagine you'd see them together in jl stuff#im much more of a halollie gal#ask

LONESTARS GUIDE TO THE WAYNES AND KANES OF GOTHAM CITY PART ONE REDUX
BRUCE WAYNES UNCLES AND AUNTS(Including by marriage) EDITION
WAYNES
“Waynes never stay down. We RISE”
The Wayne's are one of the so called first families of Gotham
also known as the Founding Families of Gotham or more simply, the Five Families are the five families affiliated with the creation of Gotham as a city.
AGATHA WAYNE
First appearance: Batman issue 89 February 1955
Agatha has been discribed as Thomas Wayne frail elder sister. She occasionally visits Bruce when he’s a adult. On Earth Two where she originally debuted it’s been said that she helped out the next person on this list with young Bruce whenever she could.
It could be possible that either Agatha or the next person on our list was the one to inherit the families gotham based ancestral home based on earth two/Golden age Bruce buying a mansion to live in shortly before becoming Batman
Agatha has a counterpart on new earth/post COIE who is said to be the only sibling of Thomas Wayne(still as a older sister.).
It is unknown if she has ever had kids. On Earth Two there is evidence that Bruce has at least one possibly 1st cousin on his fathers side who I will talk about in another post I’m planning on making about Bruce’s cousins.
PHILIP WAYNE (Not to be confused with Martha’s brother of the same first name whose farther down this list)
First Earth-One appearance: Batman issue 208 February 1969
Originally introduced in the earth-one era of comics it is later revealed that a Philip Wayne did exist on the earlier earth-two in Secret Origins Vol 2 #6 (September, 1986)
On both Earth-One and Earth-Two Philip Wayne was the one who took young Bruce in after he was orphaned.
It is unknown who is older between him and Thomas but based on the appearance of Earth-One Philip(white hair and mustache) I would say that Philip was the older one at least on that earth where both he and Thomas took charge of the family business AKA Wayne Enterprise.
On Earth-Two Thomas was the one to inherit the family fortune suggesting that he was the eldest of the two Wayne sons on that Earth. Earth-Two Philip is only seen once and it’s only a silhouette of him.
It is unknown if he has ever had kids. On Both Earth-Two as well as as Earth-One there is evidence that Bruce has at least one possible paternal 1st cousin on each. Both of them I will talk about in another post I’m planning on making about Bruce’s cousins.
Vanderveer Wayne SR.
first appearance: Powerless episode 3
For the sake of this post I will say a Fourth Wayne sibling to my knowledge has never appeared in the comics HOWEVER a paternal Uncle Of Bruce was introduced in the short lived TV show Powerless as Vanderveer Wayne SR.
Vanderveer Wayne, Sr. was the original boss of Wayne Security, before passing the job to his son Vanderveer Wayne Jr and taking a position on the board of directors of Wayne Enterprise.
Patricia Wayne
First Appearance: Pennyworth episode One
The elder sister of Thomas Wayne. She has been described and shown to be a typical rich party girl who according to Thomas apparently likes to cause scandals that drag the Wayne name through the mud. The foolish sibling to Thomas responsible sibling. They bicker and she calls him names but like any typical siblings they still love eachother.
ON PRIME EARTH/NEW 52 it is said that Thomas Wayne was a only child. As of may 4 2021 none of the other Wayne siblings has so far made a appearance in Any Comics set on Prime earth. But hey screw Canon right?
KANES
“We Stand TOGETHER”
The Kane family was cited as being so rich that the only parts of Gotham that were not owned by them were those owned by the Wayne Family.
NATHAN KANE
First mentioned in Batman Incorporated(don’t quote me on that) taking place on New Earth And is confirmed to exist on Prime Earth as well.
Not much is known about Nathan. We don’t even have a proper picture of him. What we do know is that he is the eldest son(Batman Incorporated vol 1 #4)and he was the one who inherited both the family fortune as well as the family Crest Hill Estate after family Patriarch and Matriarch Roderick and Elizabeth/Elisabeth(seen it spelt both ways) both died. He is called the golden scion of the family.
On New Earth He married the original Batwoman aka Katherine Webb-Kane the year Batman became active in Gotham. He was apparently 40 when he started dating 25 year old Kathy Webb-Kane, 43 when he finally married(the year Batman age 25 debuted in Gotham) and 47 when he died.
Kathy Webb-Kane/ Katrina “Luka” Netz.
First Earth-One appearance: Detective Comics #233 (July, 1956)
First Earth-Two Appearance: The Brave and the Bold #182 (January, 1982)
First New Earth Appearance:Batman #678 (August, 2008)
First Prime Earth Appearance:Batman Incorporated Vol 2 #10 (June, 2013
The Original Batwoman!
Strap in because this is a long one.
On Earth-One her history is as follows: Kathy Kane was a wealthy heiress who gained great acrobatic skills during her career as a circus trapeze artist and stunt cyclist. Becoming infatuated with the Batman, she fashioned herself a costume and secret hide-out and started operating as Batwoman. At first she upstaged Batman and his sidekick Robin in capturing crooks. However, Batman eventually learned her true identity and tracked her to her secret cave hide-out. Showing her how easily it was for him to learn her identity, Batman pointed out that criminals could probably do it just as easily and tried to convince her to drop out of crime fighting. Disobeying Batman's advice, she tried to capture mobster Curt Briggs. During this caper, Batman went missing and Briggs, struck with amnesia, left thinking he was Batman. Ultimately the real Batman reappeared, and Biggs was turned over to the police. Afterwards, Batwoman went back to retirement. However, Kathy Kane became tired of the dull life of a rich heiress and came out of retirement once more in order to recapture a criminal named Elton Cragg. It was during this case that Batwoman gained super-powers and after her heroic deeds, she convinced Batman to let her continue her crime-fighting career. Ironically, around this time, Kathy started dating Bruce Wayne and she started to fall in love with Batman, unaware that they were the same person.
When Bruce Wayne was framed for a crime he didn't commit, Batwoman teamed-up with Robin in order to clear Batman's name. During an undercover mission, Batwoman was captured by a criminal leader and was rescued by the Dynamic Duo. When both Batwoman and reporter Vicki Vale were nominated Gotham City's "Woman of the Year", both tried to upstage each other to get the lead in the contest. With the help of Batman and Robin, both Vicki and Batwoman captured Moose Molloy's gang and both were crowned woman of the year. When Batman and Robin were trapped in a cave in, Ace the Bat-Hound guided Batwoman to help free them and capture the criminal Dr. Midas. Batwoman next helped the Dynamic Duo capture Firefly, aided them in preventing Lex Luthor from atomizing Superman, and helped them capture the Spinner. Batwoman later met with Bat-Mite and working together, they captured some crooks to save the Dynamic Duo.After this adventure, Bat-Mite became infatuated with Batwoman and tried to become her sidekick, creating chaos for everyone until he realized his mistake and left. When trying to solve the mystery of who murdered Professor Lacy after his discovery of a living caveman, Batwoman was saved by the caveman who sacrificed himself to save her from Lacy's killer: Harbin, Lacy's assistant. When Kathy Kane purchased a mystical belt, she becames a target of the criminal Star-Man. The belt sucked Batwoman's life energy from her body and she was saved by Batman and Robin, who arrived in time to stop Star-Man.
When Kathy's niece Betty Kane came to visit her, the young girl learned of her aunt's double identity. Kathy agreed to train Betty to be her sidekick, thinking that the young girl would eventually lose interest. However, to her surprise, Betty proved capable and became Batwoman's sidekick Bat-Girl. On their first mission, the two women helped Batman and Robin defeat King Cobra and his gang.Batwoman then became a victim of Luthor's experiments, who manipulated Kathy and gave her super-powers to fight her allies. After a long struggle, Superman managed to break Lex's control over Kathy and she returned to normal.When Batman and Robin were briefly transformed into alien creatures, Batwoman was one of the few who actually believed they were the real Dynamic Duo, until they were restored to normal.She later helped Batman and Robin capture the "Rockets" Rogan Gang. Later, after Batman and Batwoman were captured by the Moth, they were rescued by Bat-Girl and Robin. Later, Kathy went on a date with Bruce Wayne to an amusement park that was previously the location where the Justice League of America recently had a battle.As Batwoman, Kathy joined Batman on a trip to Washington D.C. to testify to the Senate Committee, leaving their young sidekicks to defend Gotham City in their absence.She next aided Batman and Robin in capturing the criminal known as the Vulcan.
Kathy's romances with Bruce Wayne and Batman became rocky, first during a period where Bruce Wayne was briefly transformed into a child, he made it appear that he's seeing another woman in order to keep Kathy away,and later when Batman, while under the effect of a love potion, fell in love with a woman named Elsie.Kathys romance woes became more complicate when Alpha, the Experimental Man fell in love with her, until the artificial man sacrificed himself to save her from falling off a cliff.
When helping Batman and Robin solve a murder during Mardis Gras, she got into a feud with Vicki Vale over who is the right person for Batman, forming the first of many competitions for Batman's affections.She later helped Batman capture Catman.
When she and Batman were briefly transported to another dimension by invaders from that world, their mortality was in question unless they were freed. During this period, Batwoman managed to get Batman to warm up and admit some of his feelings toward her before they were rescued by Robin and Bat-Girl.
Batwoman's feud with Vicki Vale heat up again when both women tried to determine if Mirror Man's assertions that Bruce Wayne was really Batman were true. When Batman scolded Batwoman for getting in the way of his attempts to capture Catman, she faked her intentions to join the criminal as Cat-Woman, until Catman seemingly died in the battle.Batwoman and Bat-Girl later helped the Dynamic Duo end a feud between the Joker and Clayface,and helped Batman and Robin capture the Terrible Trio
Once more suspecting that Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same man, Kathy Kane was convinced otherwise when Superman posed as Batman. However the plan went awry when a bomb goes off seemingly killing "Batman" and necessitating Superman to pose as the ghost of Batman for a time.
When Batman was briefly transformed into a gigantic creature, Batwoman teamed-up with Robin and Ace the Bat-Hound to track down the crooks that have the cure. After this, Catman reappeared and discovered his costume had mystical properties that gave him nine-lives, allowing him to continue on his crime spree. With her Cat-Woman costume, Batwoman helped Batman and Robin capture him.
Following this adventure, Batwoman went into retirement and disappear from Batman's life almost entirely. She become the owner of a circus, but often longed to return to her former crime fighting career.
Batwoman came out of retirement to aid Batgirl(Barbara Gordon)against Killer Moth and the Cavalier, but her return was never intended to be permanent.Kathy Kane was then present at a surprise party for Bruce Wayne at Wayne Manor.When Batwoman was later disintegrated into nothingness on Barbara Gordon's doorstep, Batgirl and Robin teamed-up to find the cure and restore Batwoman to her normal form. Shortly after this, Batwoman met the Huntress from Earth-Two and aided her in capturing Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Madame Zodiac. When the Freedom Fighters of Earth-X searched for a group of criminals known as the Warmakers, their search led them to the carnival owned by Kathy Kane. Kathy, as Batwoman, aided the Freedom Fighters and Batgirl in defeating the Warmakers. In her last recorded adventure, Kathy Kane was murdered by the League of Assassins who were being manipulated by Ra's al Ghul. Her death was eventually avenged by Batman.
Katherine Kane was also known as Batwoman in the Earth-Two timeline. Her history and career are said to reflect that of her Earth-One counterpart, except for that version's untimely death. When Kathy adopted the role of Batwoman, Batman wanted her to retire from the role for fear that she would be hurt in her costumed exploits. Kane would continue to operate in her costumed identity until she learned that Batman had become deeply romantically interested in someone in his unmasked identity. While Wayne never revealed his identity to her, or explicitly told her of his private life, she said she knew of his change in his attitude to her and assumed as such. She largely retired from her costumed role soon after this. Years later, she learned that Wayne was the original Batman when his costume identity was revealed to the general public after his own demise. Not long after this, Kane resumed her costumed identity when she learned of the presence of a "new" Batman. When she found him, Kathy learned that this Batman belonged in the alternate timeline of Earth-One, but the emotional shock of seeing Batman alive was still great. However, Kathy realized that he was not the love of her life reborn, but was a completely new person.
On New Earth her history is as follows
By age 25, Kathy Webb was an underground film director, a poet, and something of a wild child. But when she met Nathan Kane(who we already established as being a brother to Martha Wayne) , he bought her a circus, and she fell head-over-heels in love with him. They were together for seven years and married for four of those same years(thus making her a aunt by marriage to Bruce,Kate, Beth, And Bette) before he died of a stroke. After this, she was approached by a secret organization called Spyral to find out Batman's secret identity. Assessing the information on the Caped Crusader, she decided the best approach was to make him chase her. To that end, she brushed up on detective skills, martial arts and motor-biking, got a costume and started calling herself Batwoman. Her plan worked, and within a few months they were an item. However, Batman was careful not to give her his secret identity, and in fact worked out hers first. This, coupled with her feelings for Batman, lead her to try and break off ties with Spyral. However, her employer, the mysterious Agent-Zero, turned the tables on her, forcing her to break off on both sides, which she did. She was believed to be killed by the Bronze Tiger on behalf of the League of Assassins. The second Batwoman Kate Kane(who like Her cousins Bruce and Bette is Kathys relative by way of marriage) investigated the murder, but could not find anything. That was because she was never killed; after a staged death, she worked behind the scenes with Spyral to stop Leviathan. She eventually succeeded in shooting Talia al Ghul during her final standoff with Batman, before claiming that she would not be meeting Batman again, leaving to continue leading Spyral.
On Prime Earth she is Katrina "Luka" Netz one of Spyral's oldest members and the daughter of the former Director of Spyral Herr Netz. Kathy presumably being a alias that she used. Based on what I read in the comics I believe her role as Batwoman is still be canon due to nightwing recognizing her voice at one point and if not then at least her marriage to Nathan Kane is still canon.
PHILIP KANE
First appearance: Batman vol 2 issue 21 August 2013
Introduced during Zero Year(the volume he’s introduced in isn’t in the hardback version however) on Prime Earth Philip Kane ran Wayne Enterprise in Bruce’s absence. While Bruce was traveling the world training, Philip held down the business with his adviser Edward Nygma(we all know how well that turned out)
He had studied to be a geologist as a younger man, he was on a Expedition in northern Mexico when his father Roderick learned that he was dying and had came to get Philip to take him back home. Philip and his father fought because he didn’t want to go. Their fighting resulted in Philip splitting his head open which resulted in him getting a metal plate in his head.
He had given up that dream to take up the responsibility of helping to run the family business. During the Time that Bruce was abroad Philip managed to in his own words “Finally Merged the families” with both families companies(Kane Materials/Kane indrustries, Wayne Industry)seemingly merging into Wayne Enterprise.
Philip was the one who had Bruce Wayne declared legally dead which Bruce originally didn’t want to reverse. Philip Kane was also the one who was able to mostly track where Bruce was during his training. Not even Alfred knew where he was.
Philip was unfortunately blackmailed like many other citizens of Gotham by Red Hood One into joining the Red Hood gang. Being branded “Red Hood 347”, Philip did the bidding of the gang leader until Kane turned. During Batman’s assault on Red Hood One at the Ace chemical processing plant(which ironically on new earth used to belong to the Kane family as Kane Chemicals before being sold and the company Renamed Ace Chemicals )Philip gave his life to distract the Red Hood while the villain was going to kill Batman.
Trivia:Philip Kane was the one who originally own the Giant Penny whose forging he had overseen himself.
THE UNSEEN UNNAMED PARENTS OF MARY ELIZABETH(Bette) KANE
No names or appearances have ever been given for these two.
Bette’s mom was mentioned in one issue of Batwoman and that was it. Seriously it was one where it's implied she already gave up on her daughter surviving her injuries and so she was off panel implied to be talking to the doctors about donating bettes organs or something when Jacob kane was rambling besides a comatose bette. Yeah it was implied that they moved out to the west coast and lived in California because I believe that's where bette grew up in most continuities.
Next up is one every one who kept up with Bat related related comics since 2011 should be very familiar with
JACOB KANE
First New Earth Appearance: 52 #7 (August, 2006)(in a photograph alongside his second wife)/Detective Comics issue 854 August 2009
First Prime Earth Appearance: Batwoman Vol 2 #0 (November, 2012)
A lifelong soldier, Jacob had been a field officer with USSOCOM for most of his career, leading numerous tactical operations across the globe
He and his first wife Gabi are parents to twins Beth and Kate Kane
Jacob has earned the following military awards: the Army Achievement Medal, the Kosovo Campaign Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NATO Medal for Kosovo, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, and an Army Aviator Badge. Jacob has worked extensively with military intelligence services.
The Kanes often moved due to the nature of Jacob and Gabi’s work. Jacob was frequently away from home, since his duties included intervention in various international military crises.
They eventually moved to Brussels in Belgium, since the parents were now serving at NATO. However, the family was soon torn apart due to a terrorist attack. Gabi took her daughters out to celebrate their twelfth birthday, and they were kidnapped by heavily armed men. Military intelligence eventually located the hostages, and Jacob was put in charge of the tactical unit sent to rescue them. However, they were too late, as his wife had been executed and his daughter Elizabeth was believed to be dead. He rescued Kate himself, but she was traumatized by the sight of her dead mother and sister.
Colonel Kane plays an important role in his daughter’s Batwoman operations. He provides her a one-man command, control, and communications center. They stay in constant radio link, with the elder Kane being able to run searches, provide advice, and generally work in the background using his considerable knowledge, contacts and experience. Colonel Kane primarily uses his connections and his intelligence-gathering and management skills. He has access to numerous databases that are normally only accessible to military and law enforcement personnel to provide intel to his daughter.
Jacob is the next kane sibling most people would know about in part thanks to both his comic appearances In multiple bat comics as well as his appearance on the arrowverse batwoman tv show.
Gabrielle Kane(knee Goldstein in the arrowverse)
First New Earth Appearance: Detective Comics 855 September 2009
First Prime Earth Appearance: Batwoman volume 2 issue 27 March 2014
Captain Gabi Kane is the mother of Kate Kane (who later became Batwoman) and her identical twin Beth Kane. A member of the US Army’s 525th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, she married another soldier, Jacob Kane. Both Kanes worked extensively with military intelligence services, and often moved as a result, even after their children were born. On Prime Earth When her sister-in-law Martha died she went to the funeral with both her husband and Kids. She reminded her husband that not all of Martha was dead(referring to Bruce) Eventually, the Kanes moved to Brussels, Belgium, since the parents were now serving at NATO. The family, however, was torn apart due to a terrorist attack. As Gabi was taking her daughters for their 12th birthday, they were kidnapped by heavily armed men. Military intelligence eventually located the hostages, and Jacob was put in charge of the tactical unit sent to rescue them. However, they were too late, as Gabi had been executed. Jacob rescued Kate himself, but she was traumatized by the sight of her dead mother and her supposedly dead sister.
TRIVIA: Gabi had a tattoo of the Special Forces arrowhead insignia on her right bicep; her daughter Kate later copied this.
Catherine Hamilton-Kane
First New Earth appearance: 52 #7 (August, 2006)(in a photograph alongside her husband)/Detective Comics Vol 1 #856 October, 2009
First Prime Earth Appearance: Batwoman Vol 2 #0 (November, 2012)
Heiress to the Hamilton arms fortune(called Hamilton dynamics in the batwoman tv show), and second wife of Jacob Kane.
Cathy is a jet-setter and socialite involved in politics.The Hamilton fortune was built upon guns. Catherine family owned the enormously successful Hamilton company, which apparently became a household name during the days of the Old West Firearms. Appears to care greatly for her niece by marriage(one can assume she might feel the same for Bruce if and when she finds out he’s Batman) if the way she reacted to finding out about Bette being a vilgilante in the comics is any indication.

I feel the same with the ending of the episode. Once again when it was convenient for Kara she went to Lena to give her an ultimatum, in the one occasion we see Lena outside her lab and not doing anything shady? Lena hasn't seen the effort and love that Kara supposedly has for her. We as an audience have, the superfriends have but Lena hasn't, how can she reflect about the situation when she only ever witnessed being manipulated??
exactly, like if we were to look at it from lenas perspective starting with this 5x07 scene where her parting words to kara were literally “you shouldn’t have treated me like [a villain]”
the very next interaction they have is in 5x08 when kara is trying to get through to lena and stop her from launching non nocere, and while it’s heartfelt and sincere, the episode ends with lena thinking that kara only spoke to her to find out her location via that virus alex piggybacked off of the transmission signal
and bear in mind lena has seen none of what went on before that transmission or after, she didnt see kara defend and protect her against the superfriends, or how adamant she was that lena was good. and likewise with everything that happened in 5x09 with lex and coie as a whole.
then in 5x10 they have another scene with essentially the same “you hurt me” “im sorry” script that ends with lena deciding to work with lex and kara defending her to william, without lena ever realising it
ill be honest, 5x11 and 5x12 are kind of a blur to me but as far as i remember nothing significant happened between them in these two episodes so we’ll move on.
overall between lena revealing her plans in 5x07 and the 100th episode, all lena has seen is 3 attempts on kara’s part to get through to her, with words and nothing more. she hasn’t seen any of kara’s actions that reinforce just how much faith and belief kara does truly have in lena, and she doesnt have any clue about what went down with mxy or how kara was willing to risk her life and identity to save lena.
so from lena’s perspective, all it took was 3 attempts for kara to throw in the towel and paint her as the villain she so adamantly denied believing lena was. that is what i mean by the narrative favouring kara and doing lena’s emotional state and character a huge disservice, if you only ever show us this rift from kara’s point of view and deny us the opportunity to see lena’s side of things and how these actions affect her, then of course people are going to be more willing to sympathise with kara because from what we can see she’s gone above and beyond, but if you’re lena then you’ll think she’s hardly done anything at all

Arrowverse: Earth-Prime
So, Earth-Prime is the universe left after merging of several earths during the COIE event. I’m going to be honest and say I knew pretty much nothing about this. I have watched one season of The Flash, two of Arrow and two or three of LoT. I didn’t know about the existence of Batwoman or Superman & Lois until... well one or two days ago. Haha.
Anyway, I’ve done some research to see what to do about the possible existence of Tim Drake in this verse. I haven’t done a very extensive research, mostly read the wikia pages, read some fan stuff and watched a couple of videos, but I have enough for some kind of basic formation of a verse. So here we go.
There is a Robin mentioned to have worked with Batman, however the real identity of this Robin is never revealed. Though in Oliver Queen’s Dossier, there’s a mention of Nightwing and The Hood (probably Red Hood) and since many characters from Earth-1 now exists in Earth-Prime, it’s very possible that both Nightwing and Red Hood exists there too, which makes it possible that the last Robin was Tim Drake.
Around 2015, after the death of Lucius Fox and killing The Joker, Bruce Wayne left Gotham City and Batman behind. No one knows where he went and Alfred Pennyworth moved back to London. Some time after that, Wayne Enterprises got scammed and went bankrupt.
So what could have happened to Tim then? There’s a few possibilities.
Bruce took Tim with him.
Alfred took Tim with him.
Bruce put Tim at a boarding school.
Bruce left Tim with someone he knew, possibly Clark Kent since they met sometime before 2006 and appear to have become fairly close. Or at least close enough for Clark to give Bruce a piece of Kryptonite.
Without changing any years, Tim is born at latest 2002, making him 19 this year, 2021. Though keeping the years exact aren’t the most important part to me.

Gift for Effie214
Here is my fic gift for @effie214. Thanks again for organizing. Please drop me a message to let me know you’ve received this and I’m all set.
Thanks - Lauren @laureningall
Third Time’s the Charm
Dear Effie214: You suggested I ignore COIE… well that’s what I did. This is a new!parents!mode Olicity story full of fluffiness - with some eventual romance for our very exhausted couple. Thanks for giving me such a great idea to mull over. I had a lot of fun writing. Wishing you all the best in the coming year - #OlicityForever - Lauren
Summary: Parenting is hard work even if you last job title was ‘superhero’. Oliver and Felicity enjoy a simple life in their Bloomfield cabin with their daughter Mia. If only she’d sleep long enough for her parents to spend some quality time together.
>>>>>———————–>>
Bloomfield Cabin - Mid November
Felicity stepped into the warmth of the cabin laden with grocery bags. Scuffing her feet on the mat just inside the door she paused to admire the view before her, her husband was lying on the floor, face to face with their daughter Mia who was desperately trying to lift her head from the floor.
He might have put the fear of God into many a criminal during his time as the Green Arrow, but he was so gentle and loving with Mia. Moments like this were perfection. Just when she thought she couldn’t love the man anymore she would see him like this and feel the tears blossom.
“Damn hormones.”
She looked up to see Oliver smiling back at her from his vantage point on the floor.
“Hey, your back.”
He gently rolled Mia onto her back and slid her to the center of the animal print quilt that filled most of the floor area of their small living space. Oliver quickly rose to his feet and took the bags from Felicity arms to set them on the kitchen counter.
“You didn’t have to stop at the market. Remember, you’re supposed to be resting,” he added with a quick kiss on her cheek.
“It’s the least I can do, you do all the cooking. I’ll be back to put everything away, I want to change into something warmer. Feels like snow outside.”
After pulling on a turtleneck and hoodie she returned to the kitchen to see Oliver unloading the groceries from the bags on the counter. Felicity stepped up behind Oliver and slid her arms around his waist. She snuggled her face against his soft flannel shirt, “mmmh, you are so warm.”
“Are you cold? I can turn up the heat or maybe I should start a fire. We should enjoy the fireplace more before Mia gets mobile. I swear she’s going to roll over any day now.”
“She is motivated. I guess that is normal for all kids.Then again she’s my only frame of reference,” added Felicity.
Mia let out a wail from the living room.
“Duty calls.”
“You feed Mia and I’ll make dinner.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
>>>>>———————–>>
After Dinner
“I forgot to ask, how did your doctor’s appointment go? Anything I need to know?”
To be honest Felicity was amazed that she had kept the precious little nugget of information to herself all the way through dinner.
“Everything is good. Really good. I still need to limit my caffeine and alcohol since I’m breastfeeding”
“Do you think you can manage that? I know you’ve really been missing coffee.”
That’s not the only thing I’ve been missing
“I’ll manage. How about we have a glass of wine to celebrate?”
“Yeah, let me just put Mia down and then I’ll help you clean up. When is her next check up?” added Oliver shifting a sleeping Mia to his other arm.
Felicity rose from the table taking her plate and silverware to the sink, “in two weeks. And the midwife said we’re clear to have sex again.”
Expecting Oliver to comment on the critical info she had just dropped Felicity she paused at the sink, but the silence lingered. It was too much. She turned around to an empty table.
Where did he go?
She stepped back to the dining table, stacked the remaining dishes and then deposited them next to the sink while she turned on the water and opened the dishwasher. As she waited for the water to warm she felt him behind her, one hand on her hip and the other moving to sweep her hair away from her neck.
His lips made contact just below her ear, “I put Mia down, she’s asleep. Just so I’m sure I heard you correctly, no more limitations,” as he pulled at her hips to press them firmly into his own.
Felicity leaned back into his body lost in all the sensations.
“Nope. And I got the shot, so birth control is set for three months. She reminded me that we need to take it slow.”
Felicity felt a smile against her neck, “slow, hmm, I can do slow,” he answered pressing his growing erection into her more firmly.
Oliver released his hold and led her down the hallway. He sat down on the bed and pulled Felicity into his lap. Felicity pulled his shirt over his head and pushed him down onto the bed.
waaaa, waaaa
Felicity paused and turned her head in the direction of the baby monitor on the nightstand willing the sound to stop.
waaaa, waaaa, waaaa
Following the second cry, Felicity smiled at her husband and moved to get off the bed, but he was faster and said, “you stay, I’ll check on her and be right back.”
Felicity scooted to lay down on the bed.
I’ll just close my eyes for a minute
Awhile later she woke with a start in the now darkened room. Mia wasn’t crying. Why wasn’t her husband in the bed?
How long have I been asleep?
She rose quickly and walked into Mia’s room to find Oliver in the glider rocker, holding Mia, both of them fast asleep. Felicity gently touched his face and his eyes fluttered open. Felicity moved to take the sleeping child from his arms and whispered, “come to bed.”
Felicity returned to their bedroom and lifted back the covers to place Mia in the middle of the bed. The baby opened her mouth and began to root for her mother’s breast. Felicity pulled off her shirt and bra and then slid carefully into the bed. Mia latched quickly and Felicity snuggled closer.
A few minutes later Oliver returned to the room and slipped into bed too. She noticed that Oliver was wearing different clothes than she remembered from earlier in the evening.
“Why didn’t you wake me when you had trouble getting her back to sleep honey?”
Oliver answered, eyes already closed, “diaper explosion, twice. It was all over her and the sheets and blanket, and then all over me. I had to change and then run a load of laundry, oh and I gave her a bath. I must have fallen asleep rocking her.”
“I slept through all of that?”
Oliver’s answer came in the form of a small snore. He had spent all day with Mia while she ran errands and went to her doctor’s appointment, and now he had single handedly taken care of the monumental diaper crisis and let her sleep. Obviously they were both exhausted. Felicity felt the pull of sleep as Mia continued to nurse.
The only sex I’ll be having tonight will be in my dreams.
>>>>>———————–>>
The Next Evening
The next day was filled with more of the same as most days with a new baby are. Feeding, burping, changing, baths and lots of laundry. Felicity knew intellectually that she would eventually be able to have sex with her husband, but it seemed so odd to think of scheduling that sort of activity.
Oliver had left early to head to Star City for the day to check in with the Team. He was supposed to be back around dinner time to allow for their scheduled *date*. Well not a date-date as they were not going to leave the cabin, but a date nonetheless.
What do you call a date with your husband for sex?
Felicity spent the morning wheeling Mia around at the market picking up some special pre-cooked treats for dinner so that Oliver wouldn’t have to cook. Who could know how cooperative Mia would be that evening.
Time will be of the essence.
Mia slept peacefully the entire ride back to the cabin. Once Felicity has unpacked her dinner treats she repeated the cycle of feeding and changing and laid down on the couch to sleep while Mia was napping.
Oliver returned home just as Felicity had begun to pull the dinner treats from the fridge.
“Hey, your back early. How did things go?”
“Good. It was great to see John. I meant to text, but once I was on the road, I just wanted to get home. Looks like you have dinner ready.”
“Yup, cooked by someone else and ready to be reheated.”
“Is Mia sleeping? I was expecting to see her keeping you company in her bouncy chair.”
“Still sleeping. I was a bit worried at first she’d been asleep since before noon, but she’s peacefully sleeping. My breasts on the other hand do feel pretty full.”
“See, I told you she’d start sleeping for longer stretches soon.”
Felicity turned to poke her husband in the chest, “don’t you dare tempt fate.”
Oliver smiled, kissed his wife and moved to set the table for dinner.
Just as Felicity lifted her fork to take a bite of the steaming mac and cheese on her plate…
waaaa, waaaa
“I guess I’m not the only one whose hungry.”
Felicity sighed. She quickly popped a morsel of food into her mouth, pushed back from the table to get Mia from her room. Once she returned with her freshly changed little girl, Oliver helped her get settled back in her chair with her nursing pillow.
“Can you eat while you nurse or do I need to help you?” he asked.
“I’ve got it. I knew all the practice typing with one hand would come in handy someday. You need to eat too.”
Oliver and Felicity had a wonderfully relaxing dinner. Mia on the other hand didn’t stop eating all evening. By 8 pm the entire Queen family was exhausted and asleep.
>>>>>———————–>>
One Week Later
“Fe-li-ci-ty - let’s just rock her. We can wait.”
“No, we will not wait. I has been 7 weeks, 3 days and (checks her phone), 2 hours. I don’t want to wait anymore.”
“Honey, Mia has been crying for the past 2 hours, she’s been doing this for the past few nights. It’s colic. You know we just need to wait it out and she’ll eventually fall asleep, come and sit down next to me,” as he patted the sofa next to where he was sitting.
Felicity hung her head in defeat, but noticed that Mia was no longer whimpering as was typical during one of these bouts of colic.
Why is she quiet?
Felicity looked up to see Oliver rocking baby Mia using his foot to move her bouncy chair. His eyes were closed and his head rested back onto the couch.
“She’s not crying.”
“Uh huh.”
“You’ve been holding out on me - you’ve known the secret all this time.”
“No secret, it just seemed easier this way since I’m tired”
“Genius. You Oliver Queen are a genius.You know what that means don’t you.”
“No.”
“Can you multitask?”
“Multitask?”
“Yes. You keep Mia quiet by bouncing her and do something else at the same time?”
“Why would I need to do something else at the same time?” he answered as he opened his eyes.
“If you can keep her busy, then we can get busy,”
Oliver snorted at her innuendo, but without another word, he swooped up Mia, bouncy chair and all, and carried her into their bedroom. Felicity was close on his heels, peeling off her sweater as she walked down the hallway.
He gently placed Mia and her bouncy chair on the floor next to the bed and turned to take Felicity into his arms. Oliver wasted no time and moved in to kiss her firmly. Felicity pressed closer and slid her hands up around his neck to deepen the kiss.
Mia began to whimper, eyes still closed, but sensing a sudden lack of bouncing. Maybe their short window of opportunity was closing.
“I’ll keep bouncing, you get undressed,” added Oliver.
Felicity yanked her shirt over her head. Next she toed off her shoes and shimmied out of her jeans, leaving her in only her bra and panties.
“Are you sure you can manage this?”
He leaned over to caress her face, “Felicity, I am highly motivated to keep Mia busy so that we can… get busy too.”
Felicity laughed and leaned in to kiss him again. Oliver pulled her close and snaked his arm around her back. With practiced ease he unhooked her bra and slipped it off her shoulders.
“I thought I was undressing myself?”
Oliver pulled back and shrugged, “what, I’m helping.”
Felicity pushed his foot away and took over the bouncing.
“Your turn.”
Oliver stood quickly, pulling his shirt over his head, and then dropped his pants and boxers in one fluid motion.
Felicity raised an eyebrow.
“What? I’m anxious too.”
Oliver laid down and shifted so that he had one leg hung off the side of the bed, his foot moving at a steady cadence. Felicity carefully stepped around the bouncy chair to reach the foot of the bed. She had to smile at the view laid out before her; her husband, in bed, completely naked - and miracle of miracles they were both awake and their daughter was not crying.
Felicity wasted no time in crawling onto the bed so that she was face to face with husband.
They would remember this day for many years into the future and laugh at all the effort it took that day to complete their pressing task.
Parenting was hard work.

Effie214, I hope you liked the fic. I do have an idea for a second fic/second part that would be Christmas / Hanukkah focused. Obviously I didn’t get to write that yet, but I’ll share that on AO3 later on. Christmas in March anyone?

i find it kinda funny that it took arrowverse so long to realise that the whole draw of a big multiverse event is to show different versions of the same characters having goofy/funny/poignant interactions with each other.
like................. duh, but much as i hate the arrowverse it’s not like they could’ve just pulled a big multiverse event out of their asses without building up the main team first whom said big multiverse event would impact tho lol (and they didn’t even manage to make a stellar job of that). what sucks more is that they fucked away their previous multiverse plays on events that were rancid and i’d love to have them wiped from collective consciousness or just boring and came with a sidelining of the characters i actually care about. like what would’ve been sexy for me personally is SG being allowed to explore the multiverse on their own, within the show (like.............. literally every other arrowverse show has) instead of that being a crossover only territory which now is coming to an end w CoIE anyways.

Better Late Than Never
My last minute contribution of something that will not happen in COIE, but what’s fanfic for anyways?
AO3
Earth-73
This was not supposed to happen.
Everything had been going perfectly when the GATE was first activated. They had expected it to stay that way, given they’d checked and double-checked all the parts of the machine. Still, something had gone wrong. Dr. Jackson had sent Thea to get her and Jax to help. When they arrived on the floor where the GATE had been built, the woman herself seemed to be struggling to put in the override codes. Her mother and Caitlin were struggling too to stop the impending disaster.
“Mom!” Lily Stein screamed, jogging forward before lightning crackled in front of her and put her to a stop.
“Lily!” shouted Clarissa as she and Jax’s mother looked up at the arrivals. “Get out of here!”
Jax was at her side, shaking his head. “You sent Thea to get help!”
“I thought we could,” Dr. Jackson’s face crumbled when she looked up at them. “But it’s too late. The energy is overloading. An explosion is coming. We can’t stop it- just prevent its direction. And we have to stay with it.”
Her eyes found Cait’s reddened ones before her fiancée sniffled and rubbed a sleeve over her face.
“Mom,” Jax shook his head. “No, we all need to go.”
“Someone has to redirect the power. We can’t get out through the lightning. I’m sorry.”
“No!”
“Just get out of here, both of you!”
“NO!” they screamed together.
“Lily, Jax, you have to-“
There was an explosion above the GATE. For two seconds, time seemed to freeze. Then it resumed to its speed, a pulse of energy surging out to hit the two young scientists holding on to try and shield each other.
Lily Stein’s eyes snapped open. Her entire body shook with residual panic from the nightmare. Gritting her teeth together, she reminded herself where she was- in an apartment, not in the basement of Mercury Labs. When that didn’t work, she turned to her breathing exercises. Eight counts in, eight counts out. Repeat four times.
She was alive. Jax was alive. They were safe.
But her mother, his mother, Caitlin…they were gone, or not who they once were in Caitlin’s case.
Light was streaming through the thin curtains of her room. Lily wrapped the sheets around herself tightly, thankful she had the day off. After finding Caitlin again, she needed some time for herself. Jax and Thea understood and told her to go. The city survived years without Firestorm before the GATE blew, and it could absolutely handle a few days now.
~~~
Across town, Jefferson “Jax” Jackson was frowning at the screen of a computer. Like his late mother, he was considered a genius and could back it up with his doctorate and project history. His latest participation in sending satellites out across the multiverse to make contact with other Earths was Mercury Labs’ latest and potentially last push to win back public favor after the GATE disaster. If this didn’t work, then the labs would close for good and his mother’s legacy would not be the lab she and Clarissa built, but the disaster that took their lives.
Now one of the satellites had stopped transmitting data without warning. The launch had been a month ago and the other three satellites were working perfectly fine. But this fourth one had been functioning just like the others two nights ago. Yesterday, it had just stopped transmitting data. He couldn’t figure out why.
“Still hung up on the satellite?”
Jax turned around to see Thea standing in the door, surprised not to have heard her. “When did you get here?”
“I’ve been here an hour. Did you go home last night?”
“No, I stayed here and tried to figure this out.”
Thea raised her eyebrows. “Not to use her against you like this, but you know that your mother would have-”
“Told me off?” Jax gave a ghost of a smile. “Yeah, she would. She’d probably already know what to do. So would Clarissa.”
“I know,” Thea took a seat across from him. “It’s been hard without them. But we’re holding up. And we’ve figured out countless things without them. This one is just taking more time.”
“I think I’m going to need to call in Lily from her day off to help. But I know she’s still processing Caitlin too.”
Thea nodded. “Can you blame her? She believed her fiancée was dead only to find out she’s been alive all this time. Not only that, but she’s not the Caitlin we remember.”
They fell into silence, both trying to think about the satellite but their minds drifting back to Lily. A quarter of an hour later, Thea decided to try and get into the computer system of the satellites not to examine data, but the live data from the satellite before it had lost all contact. She managed to get it up soon enough before sending him off to cafeteria to get some food for himself. He didn’t realize how much he needed the break until he had it and decided to thank her by bringing back lunch and coffee for her.
“Ready to watch the last recording the satellite sent out?” Thea asked, taking a sip of her cappuccino.
Jax nodded and pressed on the file. Together, they watched the Earth from the view of the satellite. For a few moments, the two talked about how beautiful the other Earth looked and what life must be like on it. As the rest of the video played, their awed expressions turned to horror at the events on screen. Thea covered her mouth and Jax put a hand on her shoulder. Then they replayed the video, slowing it down so they could see the details closer.
“We need to call Lily in now,” Thea murmured.
Jax shook his head in agreement.
~~~
Within the next hour, Lily was watching the same video the other two scientists had seen. The other Earth rotating peacefully one moment. In the next, a wave of…something was surging across the screen to consume the Earth. The satellite captured it all before everything went to static, then black. Likely due to being hit by whatever that matter was.
“Do we know what that stuff is?” she inquired softly once the video had played through.
Jax shook his head. “We don’t. And because of the satellite’s positioning, we don’t know a point of origin either. Whatever it is, it destroys everything in its path.”
“So all of that…it’s gone?”
“We don’t know for sure,” Thea bit her lip. “But there’s no longer a signal from that satellite, or that Earth.”
A chill ran down Lily’s spine. “All those people…”
“I know,” Jax murmured. She knew he could feel flickers what she was feeling. “But the other three satellites are still working. The project won’t be a total loss. I figured you would want to see this though. It could be a potential risk for our Earth or another one day.”
With a few strokes of the keyboard, he had pulled up the live transmission date for the three remaining satellites. Lily studied them and the Earths they were focused on. This was the first step in moving towards inter-Earth cooperation. Soon, they could make contact with the citizens of those universes. Strike up a relationship and share technologies. Maybe there was even something on another Earth that help Caitlin’s new powers, bring her back them and her…
“How have you been holding up anyways?”
Jax’s question startled her out her observation of the satellites. “Okay. Although finding out your fiancée has been alive for the past two years and not dead is a lot. That’s not even counting that she’s become some sort of energy vampire.”
“We’ll figure it out. Just like we always do.”
A smile slowly made its way onto her face. “Thanks, Jax.”
He opened his mouth to answer, then stopped and leaned towards the computer screen. Lily followed his gaze, trying to see what had caught his attention. It took a moment before she and Thea both saw the substance in the corner of the satellite creeping towards the Earth. Before they knew it, they were watching the strange mass surge towards the other Earth, wiping everything out before the satellite’s feed went dead.
“That’s another one…” Thea swallowed. “Just like the last one.”
“Exactly like the first one. How is this happening.”
Lily frowned. “There are two ways. It might have originated in this universe too somewhere. That’s one way, maybe the better way.”
“And the other?” Thea asked.
“It’s the same wave, one of destruction that can cross dimensions.”
Jax grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. “Thea, where are the positions of the Earths where we launched those satellites too?”
She ran to another monitor and began to recite them to him. His pen scribbled a graph and circles down as fast as she could read them. Lily stood to the side, watching him.
“Thea, when did the first satellite go down again?” she asked.
“Two days ago. Exact time was 23:08.”
“Great,” Lily nodded before she grabbed a pencil and started writing on the other side of Jax’s paper. “And this one just went down a minute ago, so I can get the rate down with the distance. I know we don’t know it for sure yet, but this would be how fast that wave is traveling through the multiverse.”
She set her pencil down at the same time Jax dropped his pen. With Thea, they all examined the work.
“So if that material is all the same, and it’s traveling through the multiverse,” Thea began. “How long would take before it reaches us here?”
Jax was silent for a few seconds, picking up the pencil and writing down the numbers. “Three days.”
“Three days until the end of everything,” Lily’s shoulders sank.
Silence fell over the trio.
“Firestorm can’t stop this one,” Jax sighed, looking over at Lily. “We can do a lot of things. But stopping a wave of destruction from space? There’s no way we can transmute that.”
“I know,” Lily nodded. “But I don’t want to die.”
“Me neither.”
“Hey, I don’t want to die either,” Thea chimed in. “But it’s not just our Earth. There are others out there, and not all of them might know about this. Some might know how to overcome this.”
“Like that one,” Jax pointed to one of their remaining satellites. “There’s been a lot of traffic over there for the last three years. If we get to them, then we can warn them or get them to help save the other Earths.”
“And how do we get there?” Lily asked. “Can we use the system that got the satellites to the other Earths, Jax?”
He shook his head. “We didn’t design it for organic material.”
“But the Gateway to Alternative Timelines and Earths was,” Thea reminded them. “And it can be again.”
Lily stared. “You want to try to use the GATE? Thea, you know what happened the last time it was activated. People died. Others got powers like Jax and I. Threats came over from another Earth for a whole year before we put a stop to it.”
“But the DeVoes tampered with the system,” Jax looked between the two of them. “Without their sabotage, it would have worked. Not that we’ve ever tried to.”
“The GATE was two and a half years ago,” Thea said. “Since then, we’ve all learned more about the multiverse. I think I can create a program that will connect the GATE to that Earth everyone keeps going to. When I do, we can reach them and explain what’s happened.”
“The last time we ran the GATE, Mom and Dr. Jackson never had an exact coordinate planned. It just scanned for signs of life to lock onto as a breach. Having that specific place we go to might make things easier. But the explosion did do damage. It’s going to need repairs.”
“Then we can do them while Thea works on developing the program. How long do you think it’ll take?”
“I don’t know. If it’s possible, at least a few hours. A day at maximum. Plus I want to run a few simulations with it.”
“Do we have time for that?”
“Need I remind you France won the Space Race because America didn’t run tests and ended up with astronaut jelly?”
“I don’t want to be Firestorm jelly,” Jax gulped. “Okay, simulations are good. Lily and I still need to assess damage.”
~~~
“Our mothers’ greatest undertaking,” Jax sighed, staring at the arch before them. “Now we’re the ones who are depending on it to save Earth.”
“And all the other ones,” added Lily, approaching the twelve-foot structure with their toolbox.
“Yep. Are you okay coming back to this?”
“Peachy. But you’re not.”
Jax crossed his arms. “This killed our mothers. It gave us a great power, but it also made Caitlin what she is now. The GATE gives and it takes away from my point of reference.”
“It didn’t take away our fathers. They were there that night instead the building, but we still have them. And it never took away Thea. It just brought her closer to us.”
His partner grinned knowingly at him and Jax rolled his eyes. “After we deal with this…crisis that’s happening, I’ll tell her. Promise.”
“Good,” Lily chuckled and tossed a roll of paper to him. “Spread out the blueprint. Let’s see what we have to work with.”
For a while, the two worked in silence studying the blueprint, comparing it to the GATE, and making the fixes necessary to it. They didn’t need to talk at times with their psychic link. If Lily needed the pliers, Jax passed them to her wordlessly. In turn, she knew what he needed, whether it was holding the ladder for him to climb up or to pass him some new screws. Other scientists thought it was freaky whenever they did it in the past and avoided them. Thea told them it was kinda cool.
“This is going to work,” Lily finally told him.
“I know.”
“But you need to hear it. Thea is better with computers than anyone I know. We’re both brilliant with mechanics and how things work. I admit it, I have my trauma from what happened. I’m still seeing Dr. Horton about it. But I trust you and Thea and I believe this is going to work.”
“I just don’t want to bring down Mom’s or Clarissa’s legacy anymore than people have already done,” Jax told her. “And I don’t want to bring any more hurt to the city than I already did with the GATE, even if the DeVoes did sabotage us last time.”
“We won’t fail, because we can’t.”
Jax snorted. “When did you get so hopeful?”
“One of us has to be.”
“In that case, let me tell you something, Lily. We are going to get Caitlin back one way or another.”
~~~
In the end, it took a day and a half, a combined total of fourteen hours of sleep, several coffees or beverages containing caffeine, several alternative pop mixtapes, and only one use of the first aid kit before Jax, Thea, and Lily completed the project. The trio stood in the basement to gaze up at their work. The GATE was rid of dust and gleamed a little brighter than it had hours ago, save for the large burn mark on the base of the right leg. All that was left was for it to be powered up, Thea to upload her program, and then they could walk through to another Earth.
Too bad the founders of Mercury Labs were not here to witness it.
“How long is it going to take to power up the GATE?” Lily asked.
Thea slung off her backpack. “About half an hour. Then we can enter and should find ourselves on that Earth.”
“I’ll go power up the GATE now,” Lily looked right at Jax. “It should take me a while.”
“Then you better get going.”
She smirked a little as she hustled over to the control booth. Once inside, the memories of the night she’d lost her mother crashed into her. It had been the first time she and Jax had fused, which was terrifying given they’d never done it before. They had crawled into the control booth and tried not to get into a lengthy panic attack over how they were one. Thea had been the one to find them and helped them split. Team Firestorm was born in the early morning hours after the GATE failed.
Lily yanked the lever down to start the power-up. Most of the employees at Mercury had already gone home, which was all the better. The rest were probably going to experience power problems for a while. Hopefully none of them would find their way down here to see what they were doing. Everything about this was off the books and could cost them their jobs. But when it was compared to losing the world, Lily would rather be jobless. So would Jax and Thea.
Speaking of the duo, Lily fell back into an easy chair and spun around to watch through the control booth’s window. Jax was doing all the talking. Lily didn’t need the psychic link to tell that he was anxious about talking to Thea. But then those fears evaporated as Thea put her hand over his and kissed him. Good for them.
She gave them another moment before exiting the booth. “Did it go good?”
“It was great,” Thea chuckled. “As soon as all this is over, we’ll do something proper, like dinner or coffee.”
“Or you can do it on the other Earth?”
“Lily, there’s a wave of destruction that’s taken out two Earths already,” Jax reminded her. “I want to stop it first. Then I’ll take Thea on a date.”
“Point taken,” she smiled. “I’m happy for you two. Not the best time, but…better late than never.”
Thea’s expression softened. “Thank you, Lily.”
~~~
“It’s almost time,” Thea announced as she looked at the GATE’s readings on her computer. “Another two minutes and we’ll be good to go.”
“Anyone else feeling a little nervous now?” Lily asked.
Jax raised his hand. “Not sure if it’s me or if it’s because of you. Probably both.”
“I am, but I’m hopeful,” Thea told them. “We always need hope.”
The halves of Firestorm nodded.
“Once the GATE is at power, I need to input the code. Then we can-“
“NO.”
Someone was in the room now. A towering man in some kind of armor stood by the door. It had been locked, but none of them had heard him come in. His skin was white with eyes that were sunken and gaunt. It was as if someone had taken a corpse and brought him back to life. There was even a stench of death about him, one so repulsive that all of them took a step back.
“This Earth must fall, and so must those who tread upon it. You will not be spared.”
Jax held out his fist to Lily behind Thea’s back. She bumped hers against his. With a swirl of flames, Firestorm appeared, inhabiting Jax’s body this run. It was his turn after all.
“I’d get out of here now, buddy,” they warned, stepping in front of Thea.
“You cannot frighten me,” the corpse hissed. “I have seen many Firestorms. None of them strike fear. None of them have overcome me. Fire can be put out easier than you think.”
The lights flickered above them. It made the corpse frown, so it was not his doing. Jax frowned before remembering they were using a lot of energy.
“She’s coming.” Lily’s voice echoed.
“Thea, get ready,” Jax whispered.
A second later, the lock on the door clicked loudly before the door itself fell to the floor. In stalked a woman with tangled white hair and pale skin. Dark circles formed rings around her eyes. If they didn’t know her, they could have assumed she was related to the corpse. But they knew her name. Who she had been. Who she had loved.
“Caity.”
Caitlin Snow, now known as Blackout, stared around the room. She frowned at the corpse before relaxing a bit at the sight of Thea and Firestorm. Once she laid eyes on the Gate, her expression became a mixture of hunger and anger. The device that had changed her life was now offering itself as a food source.
“Let me take over. Just for a moment.”
Jax relaxed control over their mouth so Lily could assume it.
“Caity,” Lily’s voice came from his mouth. “Help us get out here. He wants to destroy the Earth.”
Caitlin turned back to her. “Lily?”
“Please, Caity. We’ll help you. We’ll find a way to stop the hunger.”
Two long strands of energy flowed from Caitlin’s hands. “You had me at destroying the Earth.”
“Careful, girl,” the corpse warned.
The metahuman laughed. “I’ve been much more than that for a long time.”
With that, she ran towards him, her energy whips flying forward to wrap around the wrists of the corpse.
“Guys,” Thea whispered. “The GATE is ready. I have to get in the coordinates.”
“We can’t let them follow us,” Jax reminded her, taking control of Firestorm again. “At least this freaky guy. He’s the one who wants us dead.”
Thea smiled. “Well, we’re lucky that I was the one who made sure the code has an instruction to close after two organic lifeforms enter it.”
“Thea, you’re a genius.”
“Go help Caitlin first, then compliment my brain.”
Firestorm rose into the air as Thea made a run for the control booth. The corpse was holding up well against Caitlin’s energy whips, which was saying something. Together, Lily and Jax hurled fireballs at him to keep him distracted from Thea. But just as she almost reached the booth, the corpse bent backwards to avoid one whip, which smashed into the metal frame of the window. Thea yelped and fell backwards, her laptop skittering out of her hand all the way to the boot of the corpse.
The corpse stopped and stared at the laptop. Without hesitation, he brought his foot down on it.
Thea did not scream as her pride and joy was reduced to a cracked screen and a broken keyboard, but she looked devastated.
“Thea Queen,” the corpse boomed. “You are not like your doppelgangers. And you shall die different from the rest of them.”
“Not interested, but thanks.”
The corpse smiled cruelly and raised his hand. Jax started to fly towards her.
A strand of energy coiled around the hand before it could swing down.
Both Firestorm and the corpse stopped and turned to see Caitlin clinging to her whip with gritted teeth. “Leave my friend alone!”
The corpse growled at her and yanked his coiled arm forward. Caitlin flew forward and landed on the floor. Thea took the chance to scramble her feet and out of the way. Jax didn’t look to see where she went, but he couldn’t fly anywhere. Lily was too transfixed in horror, watching Caitlin struggle in vain to hold her group as the corpse dragged her across the floor.
“Caitlin Snow,” the corpse pulled the whip forward, so she landed at his feet. “Any final words?”
“No no no no no no.”
Lily wanted to move forward, so did he. But they couldn’t somehow. They were just guests.
Caitlin scowled as the corpse lifted her up into the air by the whip, but then looked towards them.
“I love you,” she said. “Kick his ass.”
The corpse snarled. “Pathetic.”
His hand wrapped around her neck. Jax closed their eyes, but they still heard the snap and the thump of a body.
“Now, Firestorm. It is your turn.”
Jax reopened their eyes and felt feeling return to their body. He lowered them to the floor. Caitlin’s body was behind the corpse. A cry that did not belong to him escaped his mouth. Lily’s anguish was almost overpowering, but it was fueling a fight in them.
Flicking their hands out, Jax and Lily summoned handfuls of fire. If they were to go down, they were going down together in a fight.
Behind them, the GATE was filled by a dark blue hue. It was active and ready for transport.
Jax flew up in the air a little, just enough to see past the corpse and Caitlin. Thea was inside the doorway of the control booth, a smile on her face. She was also crying.
“Thea?” he shouted, throwing the fire out to throw off the corpse
The corpse growled. “How-”
“It’s called a flash drive, E.T.!” she screamed at him. “You killed my computer, but not the back-up!”
Then she looked up at them. “Now go!”
“Not without you!”
But the corpse was turned towards her now. She wouldn’t have the time to make it. Logistically, Jax knew this.
Emotionally, he could not accept it.
Thea looked up at him with love, not fear. “Go save this world.”
“Thea!” he cried out.
Lily took control and flew toward the GATE. Jax peeked back one last time at her before they entered the arch. Everything became blue and cold and fast. This was what he imagined going down a sink felt like. Images of people and places flashed around them, but there weren’t very many. He didn’t focus on them when he had just left Thea in the hands of the corpse who wanted to kill all the Earths.
Then everything went black.
~~~
“You’re a foolish girl,” the corpse said as he stepped inside the control booth.
Thea was backed against the wall. Moments ago, she had been brave. Now she was terrified.
“I’m no fool,” she proclaimed, yanking the flash drive out. “I’m a freaking genius.”
The GATE sputtered and shut down.
Raising a hand, the corpse stared down at her. “Then enjoy a taste of your planet’s demise.”
~~~
“How long ago did you find him?”
“An hour, and it’s not really just him. There’s another brainwave signature.”
“So it’s Firestorm. Did Jax find a new partner?
“This isn’t our Jax. Gideon pulled up his location. He’s out in Zenith City.”
“Well, I kinda figured he was from another Earth given how he burst out of that breach.”
“What Earth did he come from?”
Jax groaned. Lily was groggy inside his skull. Summoning as much energy as they had left, they split apart.
“Whoa!”
Jax sat up first and opened his eyes. He was jammed with Lily on a bed in some medical wing. Three people were crowded around the bed. A man wearing something between armor and an exoskeleton, a woman in a white jumpsuit, and a second man wearing all red.
“Where are we?” he asked.
“Earth-1,” the woman answered. “You landed outside STAR Labs and passed out. We know your doppelganger pretty well, so we brought you inside. Where did you come from?”
“Earth-73 is our positioning,” Jax told them as Lily started to rise up beside him. “Something has been destroying Earths. Ours is going to be hit by it within a day. We travelled here to warn you if you didn’t know, or to get help to fight against it.”
The three exchanged a look before the man in red answered. “We know it’s coming, and we can use all the help we can get to fight it.”
“Consider us invested,” Lily told them. “Can you use two people who become a superhero with nuclear-based powers?”
“Definitely,” the man in the suit told them before frowning. “Hey, are you okay?”
Jax didn’t realize he was crying. “I…I…”
Lily finished for him. “We lost people coming here.”
He nodded. She’d lost Caitlin. And Thea was probably as good as dead, but at least he’d told her how he felt.
Better late than never, right?
Epilogue - A Post COIE Coda That The Show Won’t Give Me So I’m Writing It Myself
He sits in a contemplative slump, soft hues of neon blues and yellows peaking through the blinders, lighting the sides of his war-torn suit. The city was quiet, but held an elevated, almost jovial sense to it, like the very essence of air was aware of the catastrophe that was narrowly avoided and was taking a sigh of relief. He couldn’t help but smile at the thought. His gaze was fixed, chest heaving softly as his eyes basked in the sight he had longed to see for so long. Home, at long last. Just as beautiful as when he had left, just as peaceful, just as broken.
‘‘ I’m sorry I took so long. ’’ His brows furrow, voice bordering on a whimper as a battered hand reaches for hers, ‘‘ You know how I get, always so distracted...’’ For so long she had been a distant dream in the recesses of his mind, a lone light in the darkness that lit his path in times when he did not know where to turn. ‘‘ There is so much I want to say...’’ His gaze drifts, catching the briefest glimpse of a specter just at the edge of his peripheral. ‘‘...but not enough time. ’’
Flash Missing, Vanishes In Crisis.
The words were ingrained in his head, its meaning ingrained deeper within. For so long he thought it would be his salvation, the end of his journey where he could finally be free, utterly and completely. In an ironic way, it finally was, he supposed. A Flash was always meant to vanish, it had just never specified which.
The Speed Force always had its own sense of humor.
‘‘ I thought I could escape it, escape him, The Flash, ’’ He elongates the word in his mouth, jaw clenching taut before crumbling into a bitter smile, ‘‘ and all the things he had done. ’’ He can feel the presence just over his shoulder, the figure that was just outside his vision, lingering, waiting. ‘‘ I thought I could come back, and set things right. I thought I could be-- ’’ His eyes close shut, shoulders buckling under the weight of all his failures. ‘‘--Happy. I suppose it goes without saying that I failed on all fronts. ’’
Oh how he wishes he could stretch this moment for an eternity. To stay in this hospital room until the very last atoms of the universe ceased to be. Ah, but when did Eobard Thawne ever get what he wanted?
‘‘ But now, maybe, finally, I can do something right. ’’ He brings a finger against his lips, the glove that once protected it long torn asunder, arcs of red and yellow and purple electricity gathering around his arm, the cacophony of colors travelling from his arm to hers as he brings his finger down on the hospital bed. ‘‘ And when you wake up--’’ Tears fall unceremoniously as he watches the scars fade, the multi-colored lightning gently moving under her skin like sunlight refracting off the sea, ‘‘--I hope you can forgive me. ’’
A single caress of her cheek is all he is allowed, a wide smile stretching across his face as an invisible force gently drags him backward, disappearing in a quiet flash of yellow.
The city is quiet, but it holds an elevated, almost jovial sense to it as if the air itself was aware of the miracle that was just performed. Soft hues of neon blues and yellows peak through the blinders, glimmering against the brown eyes that had opened for the first time in a long time. For a moment, she swears she sees a figure at her peripheral, for a moment, she swears she sees soft sparks of red gently drift across her hospital window.
...
Once Upon A Time...
‘‘ Come on, Professor Zoom, your books can wait!’’ The brunettes voice is music in the air, giggles spilling from her mouth as she nudges the scientist to her side, laughter only getting louder as she walks further along to set up the picnic basket in her hands.
‘‘ Sorry, honey,’’ The scientist finds himself smiling despite himself, closing the history book with a thud as he trails along further back ‘‘ You know how I always get so distracted. ’’ As he rushes to keep pace with his lover, his attention is briefly drawn to the sight of a man sitting on a bench not too far from them. Dressed in what he could best describe as vintage clothing, he swears, for a moment, that he sees the figure smile. He looks away, perplexed, but when he turns to look upon the black spectacled man again, what he finds instead is the soft blowing of gold flower petals drifting away gently from where the man once stood.
#do you ever cry#im not sure about the canonicity of this lmfaooo#this is like. my ideal final scene for him.#but nah instead COIE is gonna be me stock villain eobard who gets decimated by anti monitor or some shit#depending on what COIE gives me I might make this canon in a way.#we'll see.#;drabble
Burden of knowledge and Time.
Those of you who take the time to read my crazy Arrow theories may be aware that my belief that Oliver Queen is alive in the future has been growing. I can confirm that I am now 100% certain that he is, and I'm working on how I think it'll play out.
One of the biggest stumbling blocks was always the crossover. After watching Elseworlds we were all in the belief that Oliver made a deal to sacrifice himself during COIE.
When I first started questioning this, I found myself settling on the idea that Oliver does sacrifice himself, but that it will be overturned by Barry.
However, I have another way in which this all could play out.
During the scene in Elseworlds where Oliver confronts The Monitor, he pleads with him to save Barry and Kara as they are the best way of defeating the upcoming Crisis. The Monitor then explains that the universe requires a means of balancing things out. He asks Oliver how he would suggest that happens and the audience immediately jumps to 'Oliver is gonna sacrifice his life for Barry and Kara'.
However, I was thinking about this and I came to this point; how does Oliver sacrificing himself in the future maintain the balance of saving Barry and Kara in the present?
So, of course, my brain started rambling, and this is where I am.
Oliver's deal isn't HIS life for Barry and Kara. Oliver's deal is TIME and the burden of knowledge.
If Barry and Kara are needed to stop COIE then they can't die during Elseworlds. But the Universe still needs to balance it out. Oliver bought them time. They both will still die, just not during Elseworlds, but during COIE.
Oliver was given the burden of knowledge. He knows what must come to pass when the time comes, and he will ultimately do what needs to be done. That is why his darkness was dwelled on so much. He's a hero who has always had to live with the burden of hard choices. He's proven time and time again that he can handle those choices. It's why he is always looked upon to lead by his own team and the rest of the Arrowverse. He's been carrying the weight of the world for 12 years now. Now he must carry this too and do what must be done.
"Being a hero means choosing other people's safety above your own, including your family."
Would Oliver sacrifice Barry and Kara to save the world? I think he would. He would try to find another way. Maybe even volunteer to take their place, but ultimately time and fate has a way of working itself out.
If this all comes to pass, imagine what that would do to Oliver. I would like to think that he would choose to honour them and live as a hero in the light, but I think that what is going down in Star City will force him back into the shadows.
Which leads me to Arrow...
I firmly believe that the writers were intending to follow the comics with Emiko's introduction. I think they were going to have her be working for the Ninth Circle, betray Oliver, but ultimately turn to his side. Then, in season 8, she would take on his mantle when Stephen left.
However, with the response from the audience not being favourable to this idea or the new characters, and the money men not willing to pay for Arrow without Stephen, they changed things up.
I think season 8 would've played out The Ninth Circle storyline with Emiko trying to take them down, however, that was scrapped when they decided on 10 episodes. So this season everything needed to be tied up. They decided to make Emiko the villain and gave her this badly thought out backstory. The backstory though is essential to Oliver's future story so the writers went with it.
I think season 7 will end with Star City going to hell. Emiko, Dante and The Ninth Circle will obliterate it and blame it on vigilantes. The team scatter and the big shocking cliffhanger ending will be the reveal of Oliver Queen alive in the future.
Season 8 will see a time jump. I think it will be completely set in Star City 2040. With Oliver alive and reunited with his family and the team. We'll get flashbacks as to what happened to everyone over the 20 years. The mystery will build up to the Crossover.
If Oliver is alive in the future, what happens during the crossover? Then we will see it.
I think that Oliver will be driven to redeem his family name if his family is responsible for the destruction of Star City. He will be driven to honour Barry and Kara. He and Felicity will be working together as a team, but apart because it's too dangerous for him to be with her and Mia due to the Archer programme. I think they will be supported by John and his Knightwatch. I think Oliver is deep underground working undercover trying to save the City. I think we saw him cage fighting in 7x16. I think he's been living under the Bunker. Down in the dungeony parts. I think he and Felicity have been in constant contact. I think the Oliver training security programme was created because he would be the only one to access their Base. I think the fern was there to symbolise that both Oliver and Olicity thrive in low light. Oliver is alive.
One last note...I think the reason they took extra care with aging Felicity was because they are planning to time jump in season 8. I think when Oliver shows up, his aging makeup will be subtle as well. It's the CW after all. They can't have the lead pair on their show look too old.
Young Justice Theory: Connections to the Crisis Quartet....
So about this rather interesting spoiler I discovered thanks to the CBR board... Better safe than sorry on this one because if this turns out to be true then it’s a doozy of a situation that the crew is going to be put into. So a fair warning before you dive in...there are spoilers below to several DC comic events: Identity Crisis, Count down to Infinite Crisis, Infinite Crisis, Identity Crisis, Crisis on Infinite Earths, 52, Countdown to Final Crisis and Final Crisis.
These stories contain: Death, some gore, and at least one has a rather unpleasant factor of rape being involved as part of it’s story. Because I’m going to be discussing the above things partly in this and there will be pictures that might upset some people I just want to give people a heads up. You have been warned going in.
Okay so what the hell am I going on about and honestly when I was reading this I was freaking out. So a post of so ago I mentioned some theories about this season and talked about the possibility of the Anti life equation factoring into the story. Thanks to the gallery for the next three episodes, this wonderful post here from Spitfire or Bust, the Behind the scenes footage from this season on the DCUniverse, a post on CBR’s forums, and a link to young justice.tv spoilers, I can almost 90% say Seasons 3 and 4 and possibly 5 will be dealing with the Crisis Quartet, or at least three of them, from DC’s main comics.
We know that this is going to be a thing as Greg already confirmed in season 2 that season 3 was going to deal with Apokolips, just not how much directly (as this story can’t be told in 26 episodes, no way in hell it would be horribly paced).
We also know that the names of the episodes have been pretty much confirmed as Episode 11 is Called Home Fires and the Behind the Scenes image confirmed the title in the image that we see with Iris and Bart.
The site in question has it as episode 9, however this confirms it as Episode 11. However they have the others right so far, so either BTS got the number wrong or the site did. Doesn’t change the factor that there’s some thing interesting in the titles.
Take each of the first letter of the first word of the names of the titles, and you get:
Prepare the Anti Life Equation.
This little message, has ties not only to Apokolips and Darkseid, but it also has ties directly to the Crisis Quartet and the fall out that happened after.
So first what is the Quartet? Well it is a group of four Crisis that happened in DC comics, three of which were between 2004 to 2010, while the first happened in 1985 -1986 and affected all stories that followed going forward after it.
So to simplify things. Here’s a fast rundown on the important factors about these Crisis and their connections to YJ Season 3, 4 and maybe 5 if things go well.
So Way back in the 1980s DC was having issue with keeping up with it’s own continuity because there was so many books and worlds. Because of this and their own anniversary coming up they tasked then Teen Titan’s writers Marv Wolfman and artist/co-writer Jorge Perez, to come up with an event that would solidify the DCU’s continuity. These two came up with:
Crisis on Infinite Earths:
Now this story while really important as the backbone in the main DCU going forward doesn’t have as much to do with YJ in the long run as of yet. But it does have some important factors that will be coming into play I think later on, and we already saw a part of this happening in Season 2 with Walley vanishing. So bullet points ahoy for only the things that are important in this story for later in comments.
Short and long of it is that a being named the monitor trying to stop another creature named the Anti-monitor from destroying the Universe. All the different DC worlds come together to fight him, Super-girl dies, along with several other characters, during this event where all the worlds in DC merge into one world with a over all collected history. (This collection is still in print and you can find it at your local bookstore or comic shop.)
- Barry Allen vanishes as he’s running from the future or from an event that is coming from the future to warn Batman and the others an disperses into the speed force.
We’ve already seen this with Wally in his run where he vanishes in season 2 following a pattern of what happened to Barry.
- Superman from the Golden age, his Lois Lane, Alexander Luthor (son of Lex Luthor from another earth where the Villain versions of the JL resided and Lex and the others there are heroes), and Superboy Prime ( a superboy that is the lone hero of his world) all are put into a pocket dimension as the worlds are merged into one.
We haven’t had that yet, but it’s an important point in later stories. The reason I bring these guys up is because of their role and how other characters can easily fill in for them in the coming events.
Fast forward several years. The DC Universe has been remade and during the later part of the 80s and into the 90s we saw the whole “let’s go dark and gritty” thing happen. Characters like Batman had their back broken, Superman died and was reborn, Wonder woman had to figure herself out. There were light spots, JLI for example and parts of the Teen Titans, but a lot of things grew darker. Like the Outsiders and the whole Judas contract. While things did lighten up a lot in the late 90s and into the 2000s, we got Lois and Clark married by then, Jason died and came back to life, Babs got shot by Joker, YJ and a lot of other books that were more upbeat came about in the mid to late 90s, However DC decided that there was still a lot of things that could be fixed and decided to create, basically for the upcoming Anniversary of CoIE, a new set of crisis to happen.
This started with Brad Meltzer’s quasi thriller:
Identity Crisis
This story actually has importance. While not as exact as the other stories in regard to what’s happening there are enough key things going on here. The major plot point is that someone has murdered Elastic man’s wife, and the JL has a dark secret revealed that rocks every one. (Again you can find it still in print.)
One of the main reasons that there is significance to this story is not only does Batman leave the Justice League but also there is some tie in to characters in the past and their actions. What’s interesting here is how this narrative can be woven into the recent events of Season 2 and could become significant in season 3 and 4 given what’s going down now.
-Zantana mind wipes Dr. Light and several other villains, and does the same for Bruce when he discovers what’s been going on and is against the altering of Dr. Light’s mind.
Connections here may not be obvious as its clear the story line is taking Bruce leaving from the creation of the Outsiders. However there is significance here in that Batman doesn’t trust the league at this point, which adds into his paranoid view of the world at times.
While it’s clearly not Zantana in this case, Megan has been showing similar actions in season 2. We saw her changing Conner’s memory in the past season, and we know she did the same to Psimon, and Kaldur. We can’t be sure if these were the only cases, as Greg does like to play with expectations.
It would not be too much to buy into the idea that Psimon could play the part of Dr. Light in this story and eventually come back to form a group of villains that were mind altered by M’ggan. Now while I don’t think it will be exactly the same I feel like there’s going to be backlash from people when they find out what she did two years ago. As shown when Gar mentioned that it wasn’t cool what she did to Conner when he found out. And you know that Batman will be pissed by this, wondering if she did the same to Dick, not to mention Kaldur and wondering if he’s compromised.
-Deathstroke takes on the League and beats them by himself.
Deathstroke is known for being a bit OP at times, but in this story he outdid himself when he took down the whole league. We haven’t seen this happen yet as he’s only been in a handful of scene’s but given that there are hints of him returning, what with Tera missing, it wouldn’t be that hard to buy into the idea with the titles we have of one of them leading to a defeat of the whole YJ team, and pretty much protecting whatever investment he has been hired to protect.
Not sure how he’s going to fit in or who’s he’s protecting as of yet, because he was hired by Dr. Light in the original, but I feel certain that he’s going to end up causing a lot of issue for others in this case, more than likely Aquaman and possibly Geoforce.
-Events cause Batman to create Brother Eye, leading to the OMAC project
So because of the fact that Bruce figured out he was mind wiped by Zee, he decides to create the Brother Eye satellite that eventually goes rogue because of Maxwell Lord and Alexander Luthor mucking about with it. The main goal was to have the Satellite watch Metahumans because of the mind wipe that Batman and other had had.
Now we recently saw the appearance of Brother Eye, don’t believe me, just look at Oracle’s eye at the moment. It’s purple and it’s the same shape as the Omac logo. Thing is, Omac’s colors, along with Brother Eye’s are purple, Oracle’s are traditionally green.
This means that Bruce already may have built the Brother eye set up, since we don’t know if Babs could have built that sort of set up. This seems more like a Bruce thing. In addition to this, if he already has the Brother Eye project going this means that he probably knows about M’ggan doing her mind things, but isn’t telling anyone that he’s keeping an eye on them. Why? Well it’s Bruce, he’s paranoid.
So what would this mean for this season and upcoming ones? Well...
Countdown to Infinite crisis
In this case the story line was covering Ted Kord -Blue Beetle, who had tracked down a mystery which ended up getting him killed by his former friend Maxwell Lord who had taken over the Omac project and brother eye.
-OMAC project lead to the death of Ted Kord via Maxwell Lord and then this allowed Checkmate to take over Superman and have him nearly kill Batman and Wonder Woman and the other JL members. Leading to Wonder Woman to snap his neck and kill him to stop the whole thing from going down.
So one key thing here, Maxwell Lord was sort of the “Charlie” to the JLI’s “Angels”. He sent them on missions and the like, and while he wasn’t exactly a bad guy, he wasn’t exactly a good one either. By the end of the series he had realized a lot of his own faults and dealt with some issues that would take a while to discuss, so let’s say that he redeemed himself...
Then DC said screw it, we need a villain and made him become the head of Checkmate, a black ops/Shield like organization in the DC universe. He killed Ted Kord when he found out that Max was going to basically use a bunch of cyborgs and take over Superman’s mind.
Now while we know that Ted died when he stopped Sportsmaster and Deathstroke from obtaining the scarab, and we assume it was the Light that sent them to get it in the first place, there may be some connection to this part of the story given that we may see the play out of the mother box and possibly Ted having found out info prior to his death about certain things happening. I don’t think they will go for the “Wonder woman snaps necks” but it’s possible that something else will take it’s place.
(Okay strike that...given what happened recently with Halo in episode 6, I can see them allowing this if it’s within the reasons for the story.)
It is important though to note that if Brother Eye is involved this could lead to an additional army for Darkseid. Brother Eye and Omac did eventually control Superman, which could be something that may happen in YJ as an option. They also became a dangerous group that attacked everyone on earth trying to protect them from Metahumans.
And what are we seeing a huge backlash against in Markovia? Metahumans.
-During events prior to Infinite Crisis several events happened that caused a lot of issues. Among them being a point where Superboy (Conner Kent/Kon-El) was triggered by Lex to attack the Teen Titans at the time.
While this hasn’t happened yet, we do know that Conner has DNA that links to Lex, and in this story line Lex allowed for the triggering of his DNA to basically cause Conner to shave his head and become a villain that went on to try to decimate the teen Titans.
It’s not that hard of a guess that this could be something that could happen to him given that we’ve seen them pair up Brion with Superboy and it seems if anyone can take him on head to head in regard to raw power it’s Brion. This could lead to a moment of Brion trying to help his mentor.
-Following Identity Crisis and during the lead up to Infinite Crises we had Day of Vengeance, where the Rock of Eternity that housed the powers of Shazam was shattered by the Specter due to breaking from Hal Jordan.
Here it’s less about the Specter as we have not seen him in YJ proper, but the idea that someone could attack the Rock of Eternity is a rather big thing. Remember we have two powerful geological users here, and it could come down to Terra doing that over Specter in this case. Either through use of her own powers or possibly enhanced by New God equipment.
Reason I at all bring this up is the focus on Billy in Episode one and how no one yet knows his secret ID. This may become important later as if that Rock breaks, Shazam and all his power are gone and Billy would be revealed to be a kid. This would be something Greg would do to weaken the JL and lead to Superboy having to take on something more powerful without the Big Red Cheese to help him out. (For those that don’t know that’s the nickname of Captain Marvel -Shazam.)
Billy falling from the sky leads to the start of Infinite Crisis, which would be a very strong opening to possibly season 4 or towards the end of season 3.
Villains United
The reason I bring this up is because this group seems to be likely the new Light. Humor me here for a moment. In Villain’s united,follows a series of events where an individual by the name of Mockingbird groups together the organization that will be later known as the Secret Six to stop the Secret society of Super Villains that seems to be run by Lex Luthor. The story goes on to have ties to the events of Infinite Crisis, but also build up to some very interesting revelations in regard to Lex and Alexander Luthor. (You can still get this run at the book store.)
The thing about this mini series is that there’s a lot of things going on in there that could easily show up in the next few seasons of YJ.
-Lex Luthor who is the president amasses an army to stand against the super heroes.
We’re already seeing that Lex as Secretary has plans and is playing against the Justice League with the UN. We’re also seeing that there’s an army being made for fighting via Darkseid, but it’s clear that there’s more to it than just them giving him kids. We’re also seeing the Lex is helping to get others to dislike the Metahumans, the JL and possibly heroes.
Now while there is no Alexander Luthor (as far as we know), we also know that Lex, like Ra’s isn’t a man that just would let Darkseid walk all over his world. So I’m curious about this. If he’s playing up the dislike for Metas and heroes as a means of using them against something bigger.
-the Secret Society of Super Villains consists of Dr. Psycho, Deathstroke, Talia al ghul, Black Adam, Calculator.
Of these characters we’ve seen at least three on the show so far. Talia was just shown this season, though I don’t know if she’s going to have any role working with the Light. She could easily be replaced by Queen Bee, DeathStroke we know is probably connected to the League of Assassins and could be representing them for the Light group (though that could be another person as well) and was on the show in season 2, Black Adam was shown in Season 1 and as for the other two, we know Count Vertigo is working with them still, so you can take out Dr. Psycho, and since we now have Oracle, I would expect them to get Calculator to counter her at some point in time.
-Cheshire, Vandal Savage’s daughter and other characters that have played parts in YJ play a part in this story and here we learn about opposing groups in that story to the villains group. More importantly we learn that Lex may be playing more than one side.
We’ve seen last season that Lex is willing to play around a lot in regard to the side he’s on. This story line could be used as an explanation to where Cheshire is at in YJ and maybe show that there’s more going on that the kids and the JL doesn’t know about. It would certainly fit into the idea of more information in coming seasons and also could be used to push Luthor into becoming President. Which is honestly where I think Greg is going with this.
With all the new information coming out with these last three episodes, I think there’s more clues showing up for the option of Infinite Crisis happening and how that is connected into Final Crisis.
Infinite Crisis
This long event series, written by several of DC’s best writers at the time, covered various events that had linked to the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths. This story was coinciding with the anniversary of COIE, and heavily mirrors it but also acts as a book end to the after math of the more hopeful ending of that one with a mixed bag of an ending with this one. Several well known character’s end up dead, we get a new villain, and some massive changes happen to the characters that it would take another Crisis to undo.
The important thing about Infinite is it’s sort of the middle event, or Empire like story, for these Crisis. It also plays a role in leading up to events in Final and setting the ball rolling for Darkseid to make his moves.
We have a number of important characters that play a huge role in Infinite Crisis and then later Countdown to Final Crisis and Final Crisis itself already on YJ and it seems like this story has aspects that could easily fit in with this season or the next.
-Actions taken by the main trio of bad guys in this lead to the destruction of the Watchtower, and the trinity fighting with one another. Superboy Prime kills several people including Superboy, Kal -L (Earth two Superman) tried to get batman on their side but he refuses, They’re trying to use earth as a tuning fork to create a paradise and reshape the many different worlds.
While there are a lot of things in this story that I don’t see happening, I do see a few that can be used to effectively lead into Final Crisis. For one thing having M’comm replace Superboy Prime and also have him act as the instigator in various fights and wars by having the Martians go and pretend to be other characters.
We’ve already seen that Conner is engaged to M’ggan and her brother try to enlist her the same way that Kal tries to get Batman to join him. We’ve also seen the images of brother eye in the form of Oracle’s set up, and that the Mother boxes are being used in some way. M’comm is arguing for a revolution to make a paradise like world and we know that he is extremely strong and could easily play the part of Superboy Prime if he wanted too. We also see he’s willing to kill, something that SBP was more than willing to do, and blamed others for his actions.
These smaller items could lead into more dramatic moments later in the series, including Superboy’s death as a possibility.
Important events by the end hint that Bruce goes off with Dick and Tim to train, Diana returns home to find herself, and Clark has to lay low and rest to get his powers back after the events in the story. Given what we’ve been seeing with the recent episodes, we may be seeing similar things going on here. Bruce leaving to train with Dick and Tim seems likely as the story line seems to be invoking Judas contract as well and probably will be affecting Dick, who more than likely will have issues with the fall out of Brion and Tara, and Tim is going to be dealing with whatever happens with his new little crew.
Diana is a hard one as we don’t know her relationship with Cassie or Kaldur, so it’s up in the air, but Kal may take Diana’s role of leaving to find himself after the events in the story. And if Superboy doesn’t die, then he may step up for Clark in this case, or we’ll see other Super’s come into that role. Unless Conner is the one to lose all his powers.
52, World War III, and One Year Later
Following in the wake of Infinite crisis there’s the story of 52 which covers the time span of the 52 weeks between the end of the Crisis and the start of the countdown for Final crisis. While I don’t think 52 and the companion piece One year Later, is going to feature in this season I do think that we may see it feature in the next building up to the idea of a Final crisis like story and eventually into another time skip.
-52 worlds come out of the Infinite Crisis and Booster Gold learns about it with another time traveler Rip Hunter, oh and his robot friend goes evil.
It’s unknown if Booster is going to show up in this season, but there have been rumors. However, if he doesn’t show up this story line could go to a number of different characters, including Traci 13, Impulse, Flash, or even one of our new characters.
-Cult of Superman
While the story line regarding the Cult will probably drastically change, I do think that there are a few things that may come about from it. I think that it could be Zee working with Fate to deal with Neron, and Faust if he becomes involved.
-The Everyman project that Lex creates, which leads to Steel and Natasha Irons playing a large role.
This I can see happening in the wake of us losing members of the JL that depart for various reasons. Either because of the fight or they have to step down for some reason. I could easily see Lex using this in later seasons to grow his own mini power struggle with the Light and it would fit in with the idea of the Government wanting to regulate the Metahumans that are now showing up. Though I feel like this would be next season over this season.
-Jason Todd taking over as Nightwing and Supergirl returns from the 31st Century.
We already can assume a Red Hood story will come out of this recent revelation with Jason showing up, and we have Wally missing much like Supergirl was, and it’s not that hard to buy into the idea of Wally returning from the future feeling completely unsure of himself and talking about things that can happen due to what’s going down now. Jason, more than likely, could take over Dick’s costume and screw with stuff just because he can and probably feels a bit left out of things.
-Donna Troy takes over as Wonder Woman and Arthur becomes the Dweller of the Depths.
In the actual story there are reasons for both, but I think that Donna may take on the role if they have Wonder Woman kill Maxwell Lord. On the other hand I think Arthur may have saved Sub Diego during the two year jump and the reason we don’t have him is because he’s become this creature known as the dweller of the Depths. This would have lead Kal to becoming a leader while Mera acts as ruler underwater while Kal acts as leader in place of Arthur.
-J’onn comes to a different conclusion about being a martian on earth after being mind linked to Black Adam.
While I don’t see this coming into play during this season or during the time skip in the future, it may explain where M’ggan’s new look comes from. Maybe she’s changed to her new look due to some sort of event that plays with what happened to J’onn. While I don’t think that it will happen exactly as in the comic the precedence is there as an option for the two year time skip.
Other aspects that could play into the story and season 4 as a possibly: the trinity step down from their roles, Aquaman allies himself with Dweller of the Depths and King shark, New Doom Patrol, Hawkman goes missing, Jason and Dick both are Nightwing, New Birds of Prey is formed, Oliver Queen becomes the Mayor of Star City, New crew of Teen Titans, Vandal Savage starts up plans to regain his immortality, New JSA, Bart becomes the Flash, Tim Drake tries to clone Superboy to bring Kon back....
Not all of this will happen, but a number of these seem like givens.
Given how the UN is treating Meta humans, I can see the Trinity being forced out of their roles for a period of time. Kaldur may have to make deals to protect his friends if Apokolips is setting up for something dark and in doing so he may get in over his head. I can easily see Greg building up a new Doom Patrol in a one year later situation, and we don’t know where Hawkman is as of right now since he’s in the Rann shot.
Babs forming the Birds as a means of dealing with the Light and the League would make sense, Oliver could step into role of Mayor allowing for Conner Hawke to come into YJ as the new Green Arrow, and we know that the younger crew of YJ is going to come more into play. We also know that Vandel is working with Darkseid and into whatever plan he has for the Anti life equation. Bart becoming Flash could be an option if Wally isn’t brought back till later, and I have no doubt that should Conner die M’ggan will more than likely try to pull off Tim’s clone game to bring him back.
Would be interesting in lieu of Conner coming back we get Kara and have her show that there is more than just Superman.
Countdown to Final Crisis
So now we have come to the part where things become interesting. Countdown to Final Crisis covers the events that were supposed to lead to Final Crisis, but some of it doesn’t go anywhere. So I’m just focusing on Darkseid in this case, and if any hints of other stories shows up later in the show I’ll point it out.
-Darkseid is planing on being the Architect of the universe, and his brother Drax, aka Infinity man (who can be summoned by the Forever people) is killing the New gods.
Given the images we have so far and what we’ve seen in the episodes, it seems that this could be something that could play out in some way. We know Darkseid is working on creating something, probably the Anti life equation. We have Forager who comes from this story showing up in the show so far. The thing is that in this case we know that the with Infinity Man killing off the New Gods this leads to events in Final Crisis.
Honestly I can see some of this playing out here slightly. We do have the Forever People around and it would fit into the possibility that a New God is the one that is inside Halo.
I think for the sake of lenght that I’m going to tackle Final Crisis as it’s own thing over going forward with this one as it’s already really long.
See Final crisis theory of YJ for the rest. :)
LONESTARS GUIDE TO THE WAYNES AND KANES OF GOTHAM CITY PART ONE(OUTDATED I NEED TO UPDATE THIS)
BRUCE WAYNES UNCLES AND AUNTS(Including by marriage) EDITION
WAYNE
“Waynes never stay down. We RISE”
AGATHA WAYNE
First appearance: Batman issue 89 February 1955
Agatha has been discribed as Thomas Wayne frail elder sister. She occasionally visits Bruce when he’s a adult. On earth two where she originally debuted it’s been said that she helped out the next person on this list with young Bruce whenever she could.
It could be possible that either Agatha or the next person on our list was the one to inherit the family ancestral home based on earth two/Golden age Bruce buying a mansion to live in shortly before becoming Batman.
Agatha has a counterpart on new earth/post COIE who is said to be the only sibling of Thomas Wayne(still as a older sister.)
It is unknown if she has ever had kids. On Earth two there is evidence that Bruce has at least one possibly 1st cousin who I will talk about in another post I’m planning on making about Bruce’s cousins
PHILIP WAYNE
(Not to be confused with Martha’s brother of the same first name whose farther down this list)
First appearance: Batman issue 208 February 1969
Originally introduced in the earth-one era of comics it is later revealed that a Philip Wayne did exist on the earlier earth-two.
On both Earth-One and Earth-Two Philip Wayne was the one who took young Bruce in after he was orphaned.
It is unknown who is older between him and Thomas but based on the appearance of Earth-One Philip(white hair and mustache) I would say that Philip was the older one at least on that earth where both he and Thomas took charge of the family business AKA Wayne Enterprise.
On Earth-Two Thomas was the one to inherit the family fortune suggesting that he was the eldest of the two Wayne sons on that Earth. Earth-Two Philip is only seen once and it’s only a silhouette of him.
It is unknown if he has ever had kids. On Both Earth-Two as well as as Earth-One there is evidence that Bruce has at least one possible 1st cousin on each. Both of them I will talk about in another post I’m planning on making about Bruce’s cousins.
Vanderveer Wayne SR.
first appearance: Powerless episode 3
For the sake of this post I will say a Fourth Wayne sibling to my knowledge has never appeared in the comics(please correct me if I’m wrong) HOWEVER a paternal Uncle Of Bruce was introduced in the short lived TV show Powerless as Vanderveer Wayne SR.
Vanderveer Wayne, Sr. was the original boss of Wayne Security, before passing the job to his son Vanderveer Wayne Jr and taking a position on the board of directors of Wayne Enterprise.
ON PRIME EARTH/NEW 52 it is said that Thomas Wayne was a only child. As of April 10 2019 none of the other Wayne siblings has so far made a appearance in Any Comics set on Prime earth.
KANE
“We Stand TOGETHER”
NATHAN KANE
First mentioned in Batman Incorporated(don’t quote me on that) taking place on New Earth And is confirmed to exist on Prime Earth as well.
Not much is known about Nathan. We don’t even have a proper picture of him. What we do know is that he is the eldest son(Batman Incorporated vol 1 #4)and he was the one who inherited both the family fortune as well as the family Crest Hill Estate after family Patriarch and Matriarch Roderick and Elizabeth/Elisabeth(seen it spelt both ways) both died. He is called the golden scion of the family.
On New Earth He married the original Batwoman aka Katherine Webb-Kane the year Batman became active in Gotham. If the issue I quoted from in the previous paragraph is to be believed He was 40 when he started dating 25 year old Kathy Webb-Kane, 43 when he finally married(the year Batman age 25 debuted in Gotham) and 47 when he died.
Now according to DC Wikia and I quote ‘Though their order of birth is unclear Nathan inherited the fortune after their father's death,which implies he was the eldest.’ 43-25 is how much again? And If the DC wiki is right about Nathan being the eldest then OH BOY! No wonder Thomas in-laws hated him post COIE
Kathy Webb-Kane/ Katrina “Luka” Netz
First Earth-One appearance: Detective Comics #233 (July, 1956)
First Earth-Two Appearance: The Brave and the Bold #182 (January, 1982)
First New Earth Appearance:Batman #678 (August, 2008)
First Prime Earth Appearance:Batman Incorporated Vol 2 #10 (June, 2013)
The Original Batwoman!
Strap in because this is a long one
On earth-One her history is as follows: Kathy Kane was a wealthy heiress who gained great acrobatic skills during her career as a circus trapeze artist and stunt cyclist. Becoming infatuated with the Batman, she fashioned herself a costume and secret hide-out and started operating as Batwoman. At first she upstaged Batman and his sidekick Robin in capturing crooks. However, Batman eventually learned her true identity and tracked her to her secret cave hide-out. Showing her how easily it was for him to learn her identity, Batman pointed out that criminals could probably do it just as easily and tried to convince her to drop out of crime fighting. Disobeying Batman's advice, she tried to capture mobster Curt Briggs. During this caper, Batman went missing and Briggs, struck with amnesia, left thinking he was Batman. Ultimately the real Batman reappeared, and Biggs was turned over to the police. Afterwards, Batwoman went back to retirement. However, Kathy Kane became tired of the dull life of a rich heiress and came out of retirement once more in order to recapture a criminal named Elton Cragg. It was during this case that Batwoman gained super-powers and after her heroic deeds, she convinced Batman to let her continue her crime-fighting career. Ironically, around this time, Kathy started dating Bruce Wayne and she started to fall in love with Batman, unaware that they were the same person.
When Bruce Wayne was framed for a crime he didn't commit, Batwoman teamed-up with Robin in order to clear Batman's name. During an undercover mission, Batwoman was captured by a criminal leader and was rescued by the Dynamic Duo. When both Batwoman and reporter Vicki Vale were nominated Gotham City's "Woman of the Year", both tried to upstage each other to get the lead in the contest. With the help of Batman and Robin, both Vicki and Batwoman captured Moose Molloy's gang and both were crowned woman of the year. When Batman and Robin were trapped in a cave in, Ace the Bat-Hound guided Batwoman to help free them and capture the criminal Dr. Midas. Batwoman next helped the Dynamic Duo capture Firefly, aided them in preventing Lex Luthor from atomizing Superman, and helped them capture the Spinner. Batwoman later met with Bat-Mite and working together, they captured some crooks to save the Dynamic Duo.After this adventure, Bat-Mite became infatuated with Batwoman and tried to become her sidekick, creating chaos for everyone until he realized his mistake and left. When trying to solve the mystery of who murdered Professor Lacy after his discovery of a living caveman, Batwoman was saved by the caveman who sacrificed himself to save her from Lacy's killer: Harbin, Lacy's assistant. When Kathy Kane purchased a mystical belt, she becames a target of the criminal Star-Man. The belt sucked Batwoman's life energy from her body and she was saved by Batman and Robin, who arrived in time to stop Star-Man.
When Kathy's niece Betty Kane came to visit her, the young girl learned of her aunt's double identity. Kathy agreed to train Betty to be her sidekick, thinking that the young girl would eventually lose interest. However, to her surprise, Betty proved capable and became Batwoman's sidekick Bat-Girl. On their first mission, the two women helped Batman and Robin defeat King Cobra and his gang.Batwoman then became a victim of Luthor's experiments, who manipulated Kathy and gave her super-powers to fight her allies. After a long struggle, Superman managed to break Lex's control over Kathy and she returned to normal.When Batman and Robin were briefly transformed into alien creatures, Batwoman was one of the few who actually believed they were the real Dynamic Duo, until they were restored to normal.She later helped Batman and Robin capture the "Rockets" Rogan Gang. Later, after Batman and Batwoman were captured by the Moth, they were rescued by Bat-Girl and Robin. Later, Kathy went on a date with Bruce Wayne to an amusement park that was previously the location where the Justice League of America recently had a battle.As Batwoman, Kathy joined Batman on a trip to Washington D.C. to testify to the Senate Committee, leaving their young sidekicks to defend Gotham City in their absence.She next aided Batman and Robin in capturing the criminal known as the Vulcan.
Kathy's romances with Bruce Wayne and Batman became rocky, first during a period where Bruce Wayne was briefly transformed into a child, he made it appear that he's seeing another woman in order to keep Kathy away,and later when Batman, while under the effect of a love potion, fell in love with a woman named Elsie.Kathys romance woes became more complicate when Alpha, the Experimental Man fell in love with her, until the artificial man sacrificed himself to save her from falling off a cliff.
When helping Batman and Robin solve a murder during Mardis Gras, she got into a feud with Vicki Vale over who is the right person for Batman, forming the first of many competitions for Batman's affections.She later helped Batman capture Catman.
When she and Batman were briefly transported to another dimension by invaders from that world, their mortality was in question unless they were freed. During this period, Batwoman managed to get Batman to warm up and admit some of his feelings toward her before they were rescued by Robin and Bat-Girl.
Batwoman's feud with Vicki Vale heat up again when both women tried to determine if Mirror Man's assertions that Bruce Wayne was really Batman were true. When Batman scolded Batwoman for getting in the way of his attempts to capture Catman, she faked her intentions to join the criminal as Cat-Woman, until Catman seemingly died in the battle.Batwoman and Bat-Girl later helped the Dynamic Duo end a feud between the Joker and Clayface,and helped Batman and Robin capture the Terrible Trio.
Once more suspecting that Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same man, Kathy Kane was convinced otherwise when Superman posed as Batman. However the plan went awry when a bomb goes off seemingly killing "Batman" and necessitating Superman to pose as the ghost of Batman for a time.
When Batman was briefly transformed into a gigantic creature, Batwoman teamed-up with Robin and Ace the Bat-Hound to track down the crooks that have the cure. After this, Catman reappeared and discovered his costume had mystical properties that gave him nine-lives, allowing him to continue on his crime spree. With her Cat-Woman costume, Batwoman helped Batman and Robin capture him.
Following this adventure, Batwoman went into retirement and disappear from Batman's life almost entirely. She become the owner of a circus, but often longed to return to her former crime fighting career.
Batwoman came out of retirement to aid Batgirl(Barbara Gordon)against Killer Moth and the Cavalier, but her return was never intended to be permanent.Kathy Kane was then present at a surprise party for Bruce Wayne at Wayne Manor.When Batwoman was later disintegrated into nothingness on Barbara Gordon's doorstep, Batgirl and Robin teamed-up to find the cure and restore Batwoman to her normal form. Shortly after this, Batwoman met the Huntress from Earth-Two and aided her in capturing Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Madame Zodiac. When the Freedom Fighters of Earth-X searched for a group of criminals known as the Warmakers, their search led them to the carnival owned by Kathy Kane. Kathy, as Batwoman, aided the Freedom Fighters and Batgirl in defeating the Warmakers. In her last recorded adventure, Kathy Kane was murdered by the League of Assassins who were being manipulated by Ra's al Ghul. Her death was eventually avenged by Batman.
Katherine Kane was also known as Batwoman in the Earth-Two timeline. Her history and career are said to reflect that of her Earth-One counterpart, except for that version's untimely death. When Kathy adopted the role of Batwoman, Batman wanted her to retire from the role for fear that she would be hurt in her costumed exploits. Kane would continue to operate in her costumed identity until she learned that Batman had become deeply romantically interested in someone in his unmasked identity. While Wayne never revealed his identity to her, or explicitly told her of his private life, she said she knew of his change in his attitude to her and assumed as such. She largely retired from her costumed role soon after this. Years later, she learned that Wayne was the original Batman when his costume identity was revealed to the general public after his own demise. Not long after this, Kane resumed her costumed identity when she learned of the presence of a "new" Batman. When she found him, Kathy learned that this Batman belonged in the alternate timeline of Earth-One, but the emotional shock of seeing Batman alive was still great. However, Kathy realized that he was not the love of her life reborn, but was a completely new person.
On New Earth her history is as follows
By age 25, Kathy Webb was an underground film director, a poet, and something of a wild child. But when she met Nathan Kane, he bought her a circus, and she fell head-over-heels in love with him. They were together for seven years before he died of a stroke. After this, she was approached by a secret organization called Spyral to find the Batman's secret identity. Assessing the information on the Caped Crusader, she decided the best approach was to make him chase her. To that end, she brushed up on detective skills, martial arts and motor-biking, got a costume and started calling herself Batwoman. Her plan worked, and within a few months they were an item. However, Batman was careful not to give her his secret identity, and in fact worked out hers first. This, coupled with her feelings for Batman, lead her to try and break off ties with Spyral. However, her employer, the mysterious Agent-Zero, turned the tables on her, forcing her to break off on both sides, which she did. She was believed to be killed by the Bronze Tiger on behalf of the League of Assassins. The second Batwoman investigated the murder, but could not find anything. That was because she was never killed; after a staged death, she worked behind the scenes with Spyral to stop Leviathan. She eventually succeeded in shooting Talia al Ghul during her final standoff with Batman, before claiming that she would not be meeting Batman again, leaving to continue leading Spyral.
On Prime Earth she is Katrina "Luka" Netz one of Spyral's oldest members and the daughter of the former Director of Spyral Herr Netz. Kathy presumably being a alias that she used.
PHILIP KANE
First appearance: Batman vol 2 issue 21 August 2013
Introduced during Zero Year(the volume he’s introduced in isn’t in the hardback version however) on Prime Earth Philip Kane ran Wayne Enterprise in Bruce's absence. While Bruce was traveling the world training, Philip held down the business with his adviser Edward Nygma.
He had studied to be a geologist as a younger man, he was on a Expedition in northern Mexico when his father Roderick learned that he was dying and had came to get Philip to take him back home. Philip and his father fought because he didn’t want to go. Their fighting resulted in Philip splitting his head open which resulted in him getting a metal plate in his head.
He had given up that dream to take up the responsibility of running the family business. During the Time that Bruce was abroad Philip managed to in his own words “Finally Merged the families” with both families companies(Kane Materials, Wayne Industry)seemingly merging into Wayne Enterprise.
Philip was the one who had Bruce Wayne declared legally dead which Bruce originally didn’t want to reverse. Philip Kane was also the one who was able to mostly track where Bruce was during his training. Not even Alfred knew where he was.
Philip was unfortunately blackmailed like many other citizens of Gotham by Red Hood One into joining the Red Hood gang. Being branded "Red Hood 347", Philip did the bidding of the gang leader until Kane turned. During Batman's assault on Red Hood One at the Ace chemical processing plant(which ironically on new earth used to belong to the Kane family as Kane Chemicals before being sold and the company Renamed Ace Chemicals )Philip gave his life to distract the Red Hood while the villain was going to kill Batman.
Trivia:Philip Kane was the one who originally own the Giant Penny whose forging he had overseen himself.
The COIE Experience
• Oliver
• Okay, I’m sorry all I hear is Oliver.
• Weirdest shit for me there is a close up blurry Alex shouting along with the “For Oliver!” cry they all made...
• I feel like if there was an Oliver Spectrum from Sara Lance to Black Lightning, Alex is just two steps nearer than Black Lightning.
• I was basically queer baited.
• No surprise because its CW
• But you gotta admit the bait was done shamelessly...
• (lowkey heart flutters when SuperBat on screen)
• I screamed when Kate was sitting with the Danvers Sisters in the Danvers Sisters Couch
• I swear I only saw Nia Nal but not Dreamer. And I was promised Nia Nal AND Dreamer.
• It was a half baked mess I’m sorry
• Which CW hyped so much
• Then stretched the wait for too long
• they
• took
• too
• long
• I just like to think that the scenes and interactions we were all deprived of happened in between the time skips and fast forward bits i hate that i have to adjust for you cw
Arrow - S8 E2 - Welcome to Hong Kong
I was really hoping they were going to somehow reveal that was some other Earth than Earth-2, even though it had the Earth-2 Laurel on it. Obviously they would have needed to do some tap dancing to explain why Other-Laurel wasn't on Earth-2, in order to destroy the Earth they were on without it being Earth-2, but it's still kind of bullshit that they destroyed Earth-2 of all places without making it a bigger deal. It's Earth-Fucking-2; for starters that is supposed to be one of the major players in Crisis on Infinite Earths, even if the had kind of fucked up the history for that Earth. Just as importantly, it played a major role in the very development of the multiverse on The Flash; it was the first alternate Earth they introduced.
I'm a fan of the Youtube reactor, After Show Reacts, and she's just started season 2 of The Flash; and has just gotten to the point of meeting Harry, before he's called Harry; and seeing Jesse for the first time. Like I brought up with the previous episode, are they just gone now? Those may not have been Arrow characters, but they're also not so inconsequential as to kill off screen like that. They arguably mean a lot more than the doubles of Moira or Tommy. The only reason their deaths mean anything is because we know their Earth-1 doubles and it's like losing them all over again, but with Jesse and Harry, we know them. Never mind some of the other doubles we met along the way, like the other Barry and Iris. Even the way they handled the look and history of Earth-2 kind of undermines what they were trying to do. They took everything established about it on The Flash and completely ignored it in favor of Oliver's personal story - forget that Robert Queen had been revealed as the Hood/Arrow on Earth-2, forget the advanced science of that things were true about Earth-2, like Atlantis being real and above water. They had to depict this Earth so much closer to Earth-1 than Earth-2 was ever made out to be, just to service Oliver's plot. All of which leaves me thinking that this really shouldn't be Oliver's plot. Oliver doesn't do dimension hopping or interact, normally, with higher beings. This should arguably be Barry's shtick. That would have made a lot more sense to see Barry bouncing around to different Earth in the lead up to the Crisis, trying to find some way of averting what was going to happen, in the hopes of avoid his ultimate death. Instead it's Oliver, because they feel like the end of the series needs to be written into the story itself; to the point of writing in Oliver's death as the final end point and one of two things is going to come out of that: He's either not going to die somehow, which I've been thinking since last year is increasingly more likely, just the way they keep trying to club us over the head that he's going to die. Or he will die and it's going to be boring and anticlimactic, because they called it so far ahead and made his final arc all about how he's going to die and dragged it out. What's worse is that they've basically done the same thing with Barry's story and the fucking newspaper headline. Okay, first dark matter has become commonplace on The Flash; now some nerd in Hong Kong can recognize a breach device for what it is, instead of assuming it's something like, a novelty hood ornament or virtually anything else? How the fuck could he know it is or is supposed to do? Cisco built this thing, at least partly inspired by his own meta-powers; and there hasn't been any indication that anyone else on Earth-1 had the ability to jump dimensions. Older JJ does bear an uncanny resemblance to the actors who play his parents. But how the hell does the son of Diggle and Lila end up this way? Is he going to turn out to be deep cover? Makes about as much sense as anything with these flash forwards; and would explain why he didn't kill Mia when he had the chance in the last episode. Once again, why the hell does Laurel have a fucking gun? She doesn't need one. I don't recall her using one before (but I could be wrong). You gotta love when characters need to infiltrate a place and they say "it's practically impenetrable" and then immediately come up with a plan they flawlessly execute to penetrate it. Hehe....penetrate... That's a big-ass elevator for four dudes; who are standing in the most awkward "waiting to be attacked" pose possible. And all of them inexplicably, yet conveniently stand well in front of the access point Oliver uses to get in and attack them; allowing him to go unnoticed until it's too late. Sorry Ollie, Captain America did it better; he did his elevator fight in a much closer quarters and didn't even need to sneak up on the people he was fighting. So is this whole present-day plot a rehash of a crappy flashback plot that was too boring to have paid attention to the first time around? This whole fucking season is just going to be a pointless victory lap, revisiting what they think are the shows greatest hits from the previous 7 seasons, isn't it? Diggle held JJ responsible for not stopping Connor from running drugs? What the fuck is up with this future? You know what would be great? Is if it turned out that these aren't flash forwards, but rather glimpses at a parallel Earth running similar to Earth-1, but 20 years ahead. I think I could maybe get on board on this Bizzaro-Darkest Timeline. Would it be wrong when doing a hand-off of an allegedly deadly pathogen, to load the suitcase with those plastic snakes that are designed to jump out of peanut brittle cans? Wait, I took the whole "I have no intention of giving her the virus" bit to mean he wasn't going to be fucking stupid enough to actually bring the real virus with him and risk it falling into the wrong hands. And here I thought Oliver was actually being smart. Having read the CoIE comic, not to mention the various articles for the upcoming crossover, I wasn't shocked by the reveal of Lila's involvement with the Monitor. I was sort of wondering if it would be the Earth-1 Lilah or turn out to be a doppelganger. All in all, this was a rather dull episode. You'd think Oliver might have done some of this soul searching....I don't know, before he actually agreed to help the Monitor?
