sweet heat lightning falls - Chapter 11 - Something Good

When Coffee was small, still in stripes with his thumb in his mouth, he would get the overwhelming urge to run away. He can't recall why, really. Despite knowing the rules that his mother had given him, one day, he ran. His brother ended up finding him an hour later, sobbing silently as he wandered, lost, in the snowy woods surrounding Snowdin. Wine, barely a teenager at the time, had dragged him back home.

The feeling never dissipated, though. If anything, it worsened. And growing up underground, there isn't really anywhere to run, anyway.

On the day of his mother's remembrance ceremony, when he was 10, the itch got worse. Yet, he didn't run and let it simmer as he stood, empty, next to his brother, staring down at the urn.

Over the next few hundred years, as Coffee grew older, the itch never went away. When the resets started, the itch got unbearable. Yet, with nowhere to run, stuck in that damned cave, he remained.

Then, he and his brother were sucked into a different universe. A kinder universe. One where Wine wasn't Captain, Coffee wasn't a soldier, and the sun was in the sky. And with the sun hung freely in the sky, Coffee suddenly had everywhere to run.

Or: Coffee acquires a bus, a brochure, and a reason to leave Ebott so, naturally, he does. Maybe he'll find something more beyond cavern walls, universal mishaps, and his brother's suffocating reach.

Day 36 - In the Age of Sin

Rejoice! 2016 edginess shot into your face! Belts with no purpose! Two zippers on one zip! Fuckass, boney tail! Murder hobo Dusttale Sans! He also wears a dust respirator, inspired by that one post. Those are also little holes at the end of his mouth, magic is constantly coming out of there. He can’t wear his respirator half the time since his magic gets caught up in there and he starts choking on it.

Also there’s Coffee :) FS!G Papyrus. I love him, my baby. This is all part of this AU I’ve been cooking up(and likely will continue to cook for a very long time 🫠), called by the very creative name, “You’re Here Until You Leave.” Basically, it’s where a bunch of different AU characters are suddenly transported into a strange, creepy forest, and they all have to work together to get back to their original AUs. Coffee’s the MC of that, but he quickly meets Sin here, and of course Sin isn’t just going let any Papyrus-much less this 16 year old, kinda pathetic looking one-go off on his own. So that firmly cements Sin into the secondary MC role, haha.

Uhhh anything else to say…ah, those little stars on both of their outfits are from Reapertale Gaster, it’s basically a little tracker because he’s definitely overprotective over them. They’re alternate, mortal versions of his sons, why wouldn’t he be overprotective lamo?

I'm just gonna list some fun facts for them!

Coffee

He collects pens and pencils.

Works as a freelance artist - his art is decently sought after, and no one really knows who he is, just his faceless online persona.

Hates, hates, hates bugs, yet he will always capture and release them instead of smushing them.

Has an absolute garbage sleep schedule.

Very clumsy.

He's a flirty drunk. Big surprise to anyone who experiences it for the first time.

Him and Wine have a somewhat strained relationship.

Was very sheltered socially and has major social anxiety. He's trying to work on getting better, and Midas helps pull him out of his shell a little bit.

He's pretty clueless on household chores.

He has a stutter when anxious. The less he stutters, the more comfortable he is with you.

He can tell when someone lies.

Loves animals.

Wine

Despite his prim and proper disposition he, like all the Sans', he has a love for greasy food. His food of choice is pizza.

Nosy asf.

Has an odd ability to predict things, and nothing seems to get past him. If you're able to surprise him, you'll pique his interest.

Hates animals.

Rarely sleeps, and when he does, he snores.

Loves to sew.

Wine snob.

Can also tend tell when people lie, but that's a result of his experience with interrogation.

Lives luxuriously.

Amazing at disarming people and getting them to talk about themselves without them realizing.

Workaholic. He will work until he's sick with exhaustion.
