It breaks my heart everytime that Jim never knew at the end. Like, he was so happy at the end of S1 to be part of the group, to be accepted and to finally know what was behind everything, and he was so happy to be able to train them during S4. And then, the series ends with the gang telling him that something is over, that they are putting their secret in the past, and he ackowledges it, but he never knows. He never gets any answer, never gets to be included in their group again. And it breaks my heart.

I have never written a fanfic in my life, but this "Code LYOKO 10-15 years later AU" just keeps writing itself in my head. We'll see where this goes lol To get ahead of this: I always wished Sissi and Jim couldve actually retained their character development and join the group, so theyre also here now. And Clone!William is still alive. Dont look it up.

rewatching danny phantom and i think part of why i like this show is the complete lack of butch hartmanish family dynamics. the world is....basically kind to danny? i mean, yeah, he gets bullied by other kids, but his parents are well meaning, if clueless, and his sister is genuinely supportive, and even his teacher who is framed as an antagonist a lot of the time genuinely cares about him. hell, his evil arch nemesis wants to adopt him! its a lot easier to stomach as you get older than other kids shows because the adults are genuinely NOT just randomly evil child haters, they just...don't know what's going on.

#i never liked that aspect of fairly odd parents #a lot of the characters were just...mean. for no reason.#binging the show really shows how like. lancer was kind of a dick in the first episode or so #but that was pretty quickly dropped #in favor of him just being an incredibly overworked underpaid teacher trying to motivate a problem student #he reminds me of like. jim from code lyoko. often in the way of the heroes but trying his best.
