Coconut & Co, 1045 Valley Blvd, Ste A102, San Gabriel, CA 91776
Tumblr media
Coconut & Co. is a new coconut drinks shop with coconut-based desserts as well. They make things from scratch using organic young coconut water, coconut sugar, coconut meat, etc. Their recipes come from Singapore, where coconut shakes are popular. In addition to coconut drinks (with toppings), they have several times of Kaya toast (toast, cold butter, kaya (coconut) jam), pandan chiffon cake, purple sticky rice and Qing Bu Liang (sweet cold dessert soup).
From what I can tell, the drinks and desserts are either no sugar added or lightly sweetened, though with the drinks, you can specify extra sweet. I think the ingredients are all natural.
They have a kiosk where you can place your order but someone is right there if you have any questions.
Service was very friendly. She kept giving me samples even though I didn’t ask for any. I noticed she gave everyone multiple free samples.
Coconut shake with young coconut milk ($5.95 for a regular + $0.75 for young coconut meat): ice, coconut water, and coconut ice cream are blended together. It’s not heavy but is refreshing with different textures. The young coconut meat is very tender. It’s really good. They have other toppings like grass jelly, boba noodles, etc.
Pandan cake: Light, fluffy, lightly sweet
Coconut pudding: too firm compared to Melo Melo and Coconut Jelly King, but maybe the coconut pudding in Singapore is firmer? It was more like a firm jello than the softer coconut pudding that I’m used to. They don’t sell coconut pudding yet.
Purple rice with coconut cream: tasted fine, the purple rice was broken down and soupy. Maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be? Not too sweet
The shop is cute – kinda looks like a boba shop only with coconut pictures and a green and white theme.
I’ve never had Kaya toast…not sure that I’d like it but it seems worth trying

Tong Sui Desserts & Drinks, 2400 Broadway , Unit 110, Redwood City, CA 94063
Tumblr media
Tong Sui is the Bay Area’s coconut pudding chain, founded in 2020 and now with four shops. The coconut pudding is handmade with young coconuts sourced from Thailand with seasonal fruit and no sweeteners or preservatives. And it’s organic. Some of the puddings contain dairy. The puddings are served in glass jars. They also have drinks, some of them made with coconut milk.
You can order at the register by talking to the cashier or from the tablet while at the store or order online for pickup. Popular flavors might be sold out. The puddings are made at one location in San Jose and shipped to their various shops. They have some interesting flavors that I haven’t seen at Southern California coconut pudding places, including persimmon mochi and roasted yam. The signature coconut pudding is $!0.95 and dairy-free.
Earl grey coconut pudding ($9.95): Interesting layered dessert. The top layer is a dairy-based Earl grey milk pudding adorned with flowers and the bottom their plain coconut pudding. Both layers were smooth and tender, like soft tofu. Both weren’t very sweet. Really liked both puddings and they went well together. I could really taste the floral tea notes. The glass jars seem smaller than the other coconut pudding places but I appreciate the quality and freshness of their desserts. They’re meant to be eaten the day of purchase and must be refrigerated. The layered puddings feel extra fancy.
Return 10 glass jars and get 1 free coconut pudding.

i’m cooking up a landoscar stranded island fic where landoscar fell overside a cruise after nearly drunkenly booking up and ended up on a stranded island in the middle of butt-fucking-nowhere.
oscar comes to learn lando is a rich boy who grew up on a silver spoon and oscar is too in his ways to accept this. each day they’re arguing over how they’re going to survive being stranded and oscar is sure he’s the only one with survival skills up his sleeve.
until lando is actually the one who starts the fires who builds the shelters. and suddenly, maybe lando isn’t so bad.
i’m currently cooking it all up now but i’m only on day 2 and i can’t count how many times i’ve written the word coconut in the last few paragraphs BUT i’m having fun with it!! i’ve planned out the days but if you have any questions or suggestions feel free to send 🫶🏻
or even a little snippet from the first day? 😁
