Shadow Cat
The Shadow Cat is a heavily armed and maneuverable medium OmniMech that was developed by Clan Nova Cat to supersede the Ice Ferret in the early thirty-first century during preparations for Operation Revival. Use of the Shadow Cat has spread to other Clans since its introduction, most notably the Annihilated Clan Smoke Jaguar as well as Clans Cloud Cobra, Diamond Shark, Fire Mandrill, Steel Viper, and Wolf.
First used against Inner Sphere forces during the Battle of Luthien, the successful Shadow Cat was subsequently deployed by the Clans against ComStar during the Battle of Tukayyid. The Shadow Cat is one of the few Invasion-era Clan 'Mechs to lack a separate Inner Sphere designation; every Inner Sphere pilot who encountered the 'Mech before the Battle of Tukayyid was killed in action, and ComStar was informed of its designation before that battle which resulted in both sides using the same name to refer to the Shadow Cat.
Production of the Shadow Cat in the Clan Homeworlds faltered in the years after the Great Refusal, and stopped altogether around the time of the Wars of Reaving. This 'Mech was one of several older designs that were being phased out of manufacture in the Homeworlds. The reasons for the cessation of Shadow Cat production were never explicitly given, but it is possible that the 'Mech's association with the exiled Clan Nova Cat played a role in the decision to phase out this 'Mech.
In the Inner Sphere, however, no such reservations existed - despite its historical associations, the Shadow Cat remains a highly successful design that has seen continued production by Clan Nova Cat well into the Dark Age period. Rights to produce the 'Mech were acquired by the rechristened Clan Sea Fox, who continue to sell Shadow Cats to most Clans and even Inner Sphere militaries.
This expensive OmniMech makes use of weight-saving technologies in the form of a Type 79-45 endo steel internal structure, an RFUM 270 XL extralight engine, and seven tons of Compound H17 ferro-fibrous armor. All of these together allow the Shadow Cat to employ more pod space than the Ice Ferret at the expense of speed. To counteract this, the base chassis employs enough jump jets to vault up to 180 meters in a single bound and Myomer Accelerator Signal Circuitry that enables it to move nearly 130 km/h in bursts.
The Primary configuration of the Shadow Cat wields a Gauss rifle, allowing it to handily defeat smaller opponents, often before they can get within range. A pair of smaller ER medium lasers back up the rifle, together able to deal almost as much damage as the Gauss rifle can at closer ranges. An active probe gives the Shadow Cat the ability to detect hidden units, making it a capable scout.

Now, it's important to note, contrary to their depiction in most media, in our take, Vipers are actually quite competent, being on par with the standard troops of most First World militaries. OTOH, Blueshirts get just enough combat training that they aren't completely useless on the battlefield; Blueshirts can, say, round-up civilians for slave labor, deal with anti-Cobra militias or vigilantes, or serve as security guards or the equivalent of uniformed police in Cobra-controlled areas, but are not expected to fight real soldiers. Rather, Blueshirts do all the other tasks a military needs to operate, although some specialized work is done by Vipers. Cobra recruits are first trained as Blueshirts, and can then apply for Viper training, but military vets are fast-tracked to the point that they can sometimes go straight to Viper training; said training program was designed by Big Boa and Major Bludd, the latter of whom is considered the father of the Viper program, and is idolized by most Vipers. Big Boa is less beloved mostly because he's actively involved in their training and he has no qualms about injuring, maiming, or even killing his trainees.
Anyways, in general, a Viper outranks a Blueshirt, but a Blueshirt Officer outranks a Viper, and is in turn outranked by a Viper Officer; this isn't really a hard and fast rule though, as Cobra's command structure is deliberately fluid. Somewhat similarly, Specialist-Vipers don't technically outrank regular Vipers, but their skills are more valuable to Cobra, so...Each cadre of Specialist-Vipers has it's own leader (or sometimes leader) who get their own name, but generally still wear their cadre's uniform, and are therefore subordinate to those who have names and custom uniforms. Generally. Sometimes several cadres will also answer to another, higher named/uniformed officer specifically (EG all the pilots report to Wild Weasel; Toxo-, Hazard-, and Sludge-Vipers are under Cesspool; Tele-, Techno-, and Medi-Vipers report to Dr. Mindbender, all naval personnel report to She-Wolf, a pseudo-OC who will be discussed later) Beyond this, there's no strict rank structure involved; if you can get people to follow your orders, you're in charge, and if you kill a superior you're just as apt to be given his job as punished. (note that @Night_stalker has created many Specialist-Viper Leaders for us, though some already existed, but I’m not sure how to post ‘em here)
Many Specialist-Vipers not only receive specialized training, but also are given drugs or some form of surgical modification (such as those given to Strato-Vipers to enhance their reflexes and resistance to G-forces) or enhancements (such as the Hydro-Vipers' implanted gills) or both to make them better at their jobs; these often have long-term negative side effects (which is why, despite grumbling from the Jugglers, Gens. Austin and Hawk refuse to reverse-engineer for American use some of Mindbender's Feel-No-Pain Juice or Not-Get-Tired Pills or whatever), but Cobra doesn't care. They also get a hefty dose of extra indoctrination, which of course, includes brainwashing.
Given Cobra Commander's divide-and-conquer approach to management, and the general backstab-happy nature of Cobra, it should not be surprising that inter-service rivalry between Specialist-Viper cadres is encouraged. In addition, many cadres have developed their own unique subcultures, a sampling of which follows:
-You will note that several of the above categories appear redundant. Sometimes they are (EG Sand-Vipers and Desert Scorpions), because see above vis a vis CC's management style, other times not For example, Hazard-Vipers are trained professionals in dealing with hazardous materials, Toxo-Vipers are grunts who handle the manual labor portion of dealing with hazmat stuff under the direction of the Hazard-Vipers (thus decreasing the odds of something untoward happening to a valuable specialist). Being a Toxo-Viper is (usually) a temporary assignment which regular troops will be given as a punishment detail, while Sludge-Vipers are an elite cadre of Hazard-Vipers who work directly under Cesspool, and deal with the creation and use of Plasmatox. Additionally, Incinerators are specifically flamethrower guys while the Shock-Vipers deal with incendiary ordinance in general. There are also examples where it's a bit of both, for instance while Alley-Vipers are heavy shocktroopers trained/equipped specifically for urban combat, the Street-Vipers are a sub-division of the Elite-Vipers for same.
-At some point, the Medi-Vipers became a cult devoted to Asclepius, the Ancient Greek God of medicine and notable snake enthusiast, though obviously they diverge quite heavily from the historical Cult of Asclepius. They are quite feared by other Cobras, because (thanks to @Night_stalker) “on the field, while they'll patch you up, it's more like a ‘Stop bleeding to death and get back to work! FOR COBRA!’, instead of the nice calming normal medic you get, and off the field, they're the guys who implant mods, and pick Dr. Mindbender's experimental subjects.” Note that they are not fond of Dr. Mindbender, because they're the ones who have to clean up the mess when his experiments go awry.
-It is commonly believed by other Vipers that the Range-Vipers are cannibals. This is somewhat unfair; while yes, they're less squeamish about the idea of eating human flesh than normal people, it's still something they'd only do as a last resort.
-Hydro-Vipers are not actually fish-people, and they get really pissed off when you call them that.
-The Pilot-Vipers have picked up Wild Weasel's belief that pilots are a superior breed, and this attitude is only heightened in the Aero-, Heli-, Strato-, and Star-Vipers, who all consider themselves superior to the other Pilot-Vipers; they still basically worship the ground Wild Weasel walks on, though.
-The Tele-Vipers basically live on meth, adderall, and caffeinated energy drinks.
-Every Viper Pilot wants to be an AVAC. The AVACs think their erstwhile comrades are saps, because it actually sucks.
-Since most Hydro-Vipers used to be Morays, and the Morays used to be Eels, they get along pretty well. Ditto the Sub-Vipers. They have nothing but contempt for the Sea Slugs, Lampreys, and other aquatic vehicle pilots.
-Snow Serpents consider Ice-Vipers traitors for cross-training with the Eels.
-Techno- and Tele-Vipers have a notably bitter feud, but also have a sort of "y'all are pitiful scrubs inferior to the Glorious Software/Hardware (remove whichever inappropriate) Master Race, but at least you're better than the rest of these knuckle-dragging ignorami" thing going on towards the other Vipers

A d20 GI Joe vehicle double feature
With the announcement late last year of Renegade producing their own GI Joe RPG, I probably won’t do any more of these, at least not for a while, but, as a sort of good bye for now to the franchise, here’s my take on the Cobra WOLF and GI Joe Sky Hawk/Ghost Hawk family
W.O.L.F.
Cobra began manufacturing and deploying The WOLF (Winter Operational Light Fighting Vehicle) in 1987-88 as the primary AFV for Snow Serpent Arctic warfare units, meant to be piloted by Ice-Vipers. Initial production of the W.O.L.F ended in 1989, however attrition rates in combat against GI Joe and former Warsaw Pack Arctic Warfare teams forced MARS Industries to re-start production in 1991 and 2014.
The WOLF is a light weight vehicle at 17.3 tons with a maximum cross country speed of 53mph and a maximum fuel range of 212 miles. 2-4 troops can stand on the running boards, the rear skis can be detached and used as snowboards by dismounted troops

SKY HAWK VTOL Aircraft
The Sky Hawk VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing Aircraft) first entered service in 1984. Production continued through 1985 but, was discontinued in 1986, but, briefly resumed in 1990 to 1991. The original '84 model Skyhawk also entered service with the Brazillian Airforce were it was nicknamed the “Jet-Nave” and was licenced built by the JSDF as the “Little Harry”
The Dreadnok Air Assault VTOL was a reverse engineered version built by Cobra from 1986 to 1987.
Sky Hawks are first seen being flown by Duke, Flint, Roadblock, and Mutt & Junkyard while the Joes are escorting a large energy weapon before a Cobra ambush aimed at stealing a component called the laser core.
In 2005 and 2009 to new variants of the Skyhawk were developed, the Steel Brigade Skyhawk and the Ghosthawk. The Steel Brigade Ghosthawk sacrificed the 20mm cannons in order to double the ammunition capacity for the fixed 30mm cannons and increase armor protection, while the Ghosthawk added a third non-VTOL engine for increased speed and RADAR absorbent materials. In 2012 the Ghosthawk was phased out for a completely unique Ghosthawk II design.
In 2014 Steel Brigade commissioned a new version of the of the Skyhawk based on the original Ghosthawk, with newer more maneuverable VTOL engines and heavier armor plating. At the same time, the new Skyhawk frame was used to develop a third generation Ghosthawk, retaining the Stealth Coating instead of the heavier armor. Both vehicles traded the un-guided rockets for specialized hard points for mounting an anti-armor chaingun and LSB (Large Scale Breaching)-10 missile launcher.
The Sky Hawk (or Skyhawk) is a VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft used by the G.I. Joe team. It is equipped with a pair of 20mm cannons located underneath the cockpit as well as missiles that are launched from the underside of the vehicle. Due to the Sky Hawk's small size, it can only seat one to two passengers, meaning Joes will often ride shotgun by standing on the vehicle's landing skids. This doesn't seem particularly safe but they don't let you into G.I. Joe for not taking risks.
The original '84-'85 produced Sky hawks, Dreadnok Assault VTOL and first generation Ghost Hawk were armed with 4x 20mm chain guns, two in recessed fuselage nacelles and 2 in a “Thunder Clap” chin mount, the 1990 run and all subsequent models replaced the fuselage mounted guns with heavier 30mm chain guns.
D20rules: A Skyhawk/Dreadnok Air Assault VTOL and Ghosthawk requires the Aircraft Operation (Helicopters) Feat to operate without penalty

only Love restores the innocence of the heart
(A sacred act of grace)
and in the absence of trust, life is anxiety and fear. but there is no fear in our Creator’s True Love.
A portion of Today’s reading from the ancient scroll of Isaiah that illuminates the promised restoration of peace to beautiful earth in a grand end of time that will arise through the Son:
A day will come when the wolf will live peacefully beside the wobbly-kneed lamb,
and the leopard will lie down with the young goat;
The calf and yearling, newborn and slow, will rest secure with the lion;
and a little child will tend them all.
Bears will graze with the cows they used to attack;
even their young will rest together,
and the lion will eat hay, like gentle oxen.
Neither will a baby who plays next to a cobra’s hole
nor a toddler who sticks his hand into a nest of vipers suffer harm.
All my holy mountain will be free of anything hurtful or destructive,
for as the waters fill the sea,
The entire earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Eternal.
Then on that day, that root from Jesse’s line
will stand as a signal for the peoples of the world
Who will come to Him seeking guidance and direction;
and glory will be restored to the land where He resides.
The Book of Isaiah, Chapter 11:6-10 (The Voice)

131: “Ice Viper”. G.I. Joe “Real American Hero” Series 6, 1987.
Woo! Another SNOW figure and vehicle! As I’ve mentioned before I LOVED the Joe snow stuff. I would be out in the yard playing for hours in the snow with them. The Ice Viper is another of my personal favourites. Because of his red balaclava-type mask I would have him double as a ninja on my ninja squads. PLUS he came with SAIS (Like Raphael from the Ninja Turtles).
The Ice Viper was the driver of the Cobra WOLF, which was an awesome vehicle as well. Double cockpits with canopies, plus “ski-torpedos.” Very cool.
