“Estás tan hermosa esta noche”
••••
He was so fucking hot, and he knew it. He knew the power he had over you, the way a single look from them dark, big eyes could make your heart race and your mind spiral out of control. No matter how much you wanted to resist his charm, to not feel the way you did whenever he spoke to you, you always failed.
He had become your biggest weakness, an addiction you couldn’t shake no matter how dangerous it was. ‘Dangerous’ because you were his coach’s daughter, and if your father ever found out what had been happening between you two over the past few weeks, there would be hell to pay. But that didn’t matter. The thrill of sneaking around, lies over lies, kept pulling you back to him, time and time again.
Tonight was no different.
His voice snapped you out of your flashbacks of last night, a night spent in his arms, his touch still fresh on your skin. You turned to him with a disapproving look, knowing exactly what he was trying to do.
Not that you minded, if anything, you craved it,but not here. Not at this dinner where both your families and his team were present.
“Don’t do it,” you warned him, your voice barely above a whisper, trying to keep your composure.
“What shouldn’t I do?” he replied innocently, his hand already sliding onto your thigh, fingers trailing lightly across your skin. The contact made your breath hitch, and you shot a quick glance at your father, who was thankfully engrossed in conversation with Carlos’s father.
Carlos’s hand continued its exploration, moving up and down your thigh with agonizing slowness.“Carlos, stop,” you said, your voice lacking the conviction you so desperately needed it to have. But your body betrayed you, your legs instinctively parted slightly, granting him more access. Why did he have this effect on you? Why, when you knew better, did your body respond to him like this?
The truth was, the risk of being caught, the danger of what you were doing, only made it more thrilling. And that was the problem.
"Tu cuerpo no parece querer que me detenga",
(Your body doesn’t seem to want me to stop,) he murmured, that infuriating smirk you both loved and hated tugging at his lips. His hand moved higher, brushing against the delicate fabric of your panties, the touch sending a shockwave through your body.
"Si tan solo tu padre supiera las cosas que haces... probablemente ni siquiera te reconocería a ti, su chica inocente y obediente. Es una pena que no sea así" he whispered, his hand still teasing your skin.
(If only your father knew the things you do… he probably wouldn’t even recognize you,his innocent and obedient little girl. It’s a pity that it isn’t so)
You grabbed his wrist to stop him, your grip firm, but inside, you were unraveling. You were fighting a losing battle, and you both knew it. All you could think about was how, if you were alone with him right now, you’d be begging him for more, abandoning all pretense of resistance.
“Carlos, please,” you whispered, your voice shaking. “Not here. Someone will notice.”
His eyes darkened with desire, but there was a teasing glint there as well. “I love when you say please,” he murmured, leaning in closer so his lips were almost brushing against your ear. “But you know as well as I do that you don’t really want me to stop.”
You hated how right he was. How, despite the fear of getting caught, despite knowing this was wrong, you couldn’t help but want him. Crave him.
Carlos’s fingers traced along the edge of your panties, and your grip on his wrist tightened, trying to push him away, but it was no use. The fire he ignited in you was too strong, too overwhelming. You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath to steady yourself, but it was impossible with him so close, his cologne filling your senses, his touch driving you mad.
“Imagine,” he continued, his voice, "Si deslizara mis dedos un poco más... ¿qué harías? ¿Podrías callarte? ¿Podrías seguir fingiendo que no pasa nada debajo de esta mesa?"
(if I slipped my fingers just a little further… what would you do? Could you keep quiet? Could you keep pretending like nothing’s happening under this table?)
The thought se your body on fire, and you swallowed hard, struggling to maintain your composure. But you were losing this battle, and Carlos knew it. He thrived on it.
Just when you thought he was going to surpass your limit, a familiar voice from the other side of the table made you feel literal fear.
“What are you two talking about so intensely?” Your father. You opened your eyes, your heart pounding, and forced yourself to push Carlos’s hand away.
Carlos turned toward your father with his usual easy smile, completely unfazed. “Oh, just discussing a few plans for after Wimbledon,” he said smoothly. How could he be so calm when you were fighting yourself only for smiling?
Your father’s gaze flicked between the two of you, a slight frown creasing his brow. There was an edge of concern in his eyes, but no immediate suspicion. “Plans for the future, huh?” he said, his tone more curious than accusatory.
It’s not that your father was jealous or thought anything bad about Carlos, but Carlos’ a handsome, rich and young man, he wouldn’t even want to imagine his daughter suffering for him.
“Nothing more,Juanki. I swear,” He says laughing like he just doesn’t care, which is true.He doesn’t care at all.
He wanted you to be his, and nothing and no one could ever change that.
Juan Carlos nods and smiles back to Carlos. He quickly looks at you, and turns back to talk.
As soon as your father was distracted again, you shot Carlos a look that was half exasperation, half something else entirely.
“You’re impossible,” you hissed under your breath, trying to regain some semblance of control over your racing heart. “And so a pathologic liar .”
Carlos only grinned, leaning in close enough that his breath brushed against your ear. “And we didn’t got caught” he murmured, his voice filled with that familiar, dangerous amusement. “And that’s what makes it fun, isn’t it?”
You wanted to argue, to tell him off for taking such a risk, but the truth was, he was right. The thrill of almost being caught, the danger of it all, was as intoxicating as his touch. And it scared you how much you craved it.
Before you could find the words to respond, Carlos’s hand found yours under the table, his fingers intertwining with yours in a gesture that was both intimate and possessive. He squeezed your hand gently, his thumb stroking your skin in a way that made your breath hitch.
“Más tarde” he whispered, his voice a low promise.
"Encuéntrame más tarde. Ya sabes dónde".

The source of those rumors is a guy from Carlos's family's tennis club who is close to Kiko Navarro & knows some members of Carlos's team & is a regular collaborator with Punto de Break. According to him (he's said this before) Carlos & Juanki had a significant fight towards the end of 2023. But the claim that they nearly split up back then came from someone else who's less reliable.
As for 2025, the first guy says Carlos's dad has apparently not been happy with what Juanki is doing for a while... but it seems like Carlos doesn't agree. If things don't turn around after clay season his family might push for changes to the team.
From my perspective it's hard to understand the coaching strategy sometimes. Like you said Juanki's strength is not tactics but it seems like that's what Carlos really needs. This is just one example but I think it's crazy that he sat on court in silence for three sets without suggesting Carlos change his return position v Djokovic - Carlos eventually figured it out... in the last game of the match. And that was honestly the main factor in him losing. You could argue Juanki wanted him to figure it out himself but why on earth did they not discuss that beforehand when it also cost him massively at the Olympics (which Carlos said he didn't even think about before the match?)
I know Juanki's whole thing is treating team like family but there are a lot top coaches who say that after 5ish years a coach has nothing to give a player anymore & I wonder if their partnership has run its natural course. Carlos doesn't seem any more tactically equipped than he was two years ago & his technicals have mostly not improved either (return... backhand...).
thanks for this background - after replying to some earlier asks i dug around and saw some folks citing punto de break but not any specifics so this is appreciated. this does immediately increase the credibility to me bc i know pdb values their access and would not jeopardize it for nothing lmao. tho if it's like, a guy who sometimes writes for them and is mostly posting on his own time... i guess that's somewhere in the middle. (btw i still haven't seen anything other than reports of reports of reports? if you've got links i would very much appreciate them!)
as usual i think we're looking at two questions here: could carlos benefit from a different coach, and does carlos want a different coach.
i think we are all in agreement that for carlos to continue to develop as a player he needs something he's not getting at the moment, whether we're thinking in terms of incorporating a new addition to the team or making a wholesale switch. and i don't disagree with you at all about the natural lifespan of a coaching relationship. i've cited this before in discussions of juanki's own career (stuck with one guy; was it a mistake?) and of ferru's (split but waited too long; chalked the delay up to personal feelings).
but as long as it's presented to carlos as an all-or-nothing choice i don't think he's there yet and i would not be surprised to find out that his recent post-match declarations were a message. (tbc it very much MIGHT be an all-or-nothing choice, regulars here know i have plenty of thoughts about the academy lmao.)
the thing is that at this point the unknowns are still really, really risky. if you've had the same coach for most of your teen/adult years and you're ready to strike out and try something new, then that's exciting and stimulating and you're in a good place to make the best of it. but if you're dragging your feet? if you feel like you've been pushed? maybe someone else could give you more, but you have to be ready to receive it, you know? if you're an environment that you know enables you overall to perform at a high level (4 grand slams), where you feel overall confident and supported even if you're lacking direction in some big matches, where you get value from your coach's presence above and beyond the specifics of tennis--it is inherently going to be a risk to make a big change and if you're not all in on doing so the risks will be even more likely to find you.
that's why i keep saying is that i don't see it happening unless carlos' results gets much worse than this--or, potentially, unless a voice that holds as much weight with him as juanki's (so, his dad) gets strong enough that he listens to it. that might be where we're headed!
(incidentally i have feinted at this without saying so explicitly, but there is an unbelievable amount of money riding on carlos' success or lack thereof--i don't mean prize money, i mean his brand as a star--and it would be naive to pretend that's not a factor in decision-making. that's one of the reasons i've pointed to a sustained slump, rather than one or two disappointing slams. when the results start to affect the brand.)
just talked this over with friend who compared the ideal set-up to darren/simone for jannik--supervisory coach + tactical/court coach. if so, then the question is whether they come to that same conclusion and get the set-up in place before the decision is out of their hands, so to speak.
#and when ferru comes on board after his dc contract expires to beef up carlitos' positioning and problem-solving. WHAT THEN.#no no no keep him out of this that can only lead to disappointment#inside you are two dog-coded tennis players.#ask#juan carlos ferrero#carlos alcaraz#LATE-BREAKING ADDITION FROM CHAT: “andy murray coaches his favorite athlete. everyone is mad about it.”#anyway. it's funny that this is exactly the premise i laid out in figure skating au like 10 days ago. congrats to me ig??#wah sf in 30 minutes and i'm still here furiously typing away in the office TIME TO BOUNCE

Although like… there’s coaching, and then there’s Ferrero telling Alcaraz where to serve several times in the last game

Carlos Alcaraz talks about his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero.
Video found here
How can we define, so people understand, your relationship with Juan Carlos Ferrero? He is more than a friend, he’s almost like a father... who is he to you, Juan Carlos?
Well, for me Juan Carlos is a super special person. He is much more than… Well, the relationship I have with him, it’s much more than a coach-student relationship, it goes further. I consider him a friend, I consider him a person I can confide in, whom I can ask for help on a personal and professional level. He is someone who is always there for me, in the good and the bad moments, Juan Carlos is always there. I owe him everything. It’s, well, as I said: a relationship that goes further than that between coach and student.

interesting for my personal agendas
TIME FOR SPANISH HISTORY IN ROTTERDAM?
Spain has produced plenty of ATP Tour greats over the years, several of whom have competed at past editions of the ABN AMRO Open. Yet no Spaniard has ever managed to claim the title in Rotterdam.
Rafael Nadal is the most recent Spanish finalist at the ATP 500. The legendary lefty reached the championship match in 2009, when Andy Murray defeated him in three sets. The only other countryman of Alcaraz to have contested a Rotterdam final is someone he knows particularly well: his coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, fell to Lleyton Hewitt in the 2004 final. Can Ferrero this year inspire his charge to go one step further than he managed himself at Rotterdam Ahoy?

You wrap your towel around the back of your neck and breathe in and out slowly as you look over to your box.
The box is filled to the very last seat.
Your mother looks like she is on the verge of tears, your father has his face buried in his hands and your younger siblings are hopping up and down in their seats. Your aunt seems to be talking to your physio without a dot or comma, your manager looks like she's about to throw up from nervousness and your coach is shifting restlessly in his seat. And you aren’t sure, but it looks like your grandmother is already crying.
In the first row of your box – right between your mum and your coach – is Carlos. Of all those in the box, he looks the calmest and most collected. But you remember very well his nervous stuttering before the match when he tried to find words of encouragement for you - and he had demolished his sunglasses in the tiebreak of the second set when you had the match point against you. So he just looks calm, but he's definitely not.
You’re just one service game away from winning your first ever slam. Just one service game and you would win Wimbledon. Your hands are shaking, and you nearly spill some water from your water bottle.
“Focus! Let’s play point by point!”, you talk to yourself while getting up from your bench to get back on court, “You got this, Y/N. You got this!”
You see Carlos muttering something - probably a "Vamos!" - and forming a heart with his hands while you wait for Iga to get into position.
No matter the outcome of this final, you definitely have the best cheerleader in the world.
*** *** *** *** *** ***
Your coach was the first to embrace you, you can hear him crying tears of joy: “I knew you'd make it! I knew it!”
You can hear the crowd cheering and clapping, you feel the whole stands vibrating.
You feel Carlos' hands wrapping around you and pulling you close. He isn't crying, but you have never seen him smile so broadly. It’s hard to understand what he’s saying - people are chanting your name all over the stadium.
“Te amo!”, you kiss him briefly but effusively.
Your head is spinning, and you only now notice that your siblings are tugging at your shirt, waiting impatiently to be hugged too.
But you don’t want to let Carlos go. You want to say like this: hugging him tight, feeling his hands around your waist.
Just like yesterday.
Yesterday’s evening and last night were the worst ones of your life. You were so nervous because of today’s final. You couldn’t eat or sleep.
But Carlos was there for you. He talked to you. He encouraged you.
And when he no longer knew what to say, he just held you.
You fell asleep in his arms with his fingers lovingly stroking through your hair.
The night before the US Open final was the same but in reversed roles. You held him until he fell asleep in your arms.
*** *** *** *** *** ***
The interviews and the trophy ceremony pass by as if in a frenzy. You hope you said the right things, thanked everyone in the interviews and speech and congratulated your opponent and her team - you can't remember it at the moment.
By now, not only your team, but also a group of your friends are present, who have congratulated you effusively. Carlos' brother Alvaro and Juan Carlos Ferrero are also among the well-wishers. The latter commented on Carlos' half-filled champagne glass with a frown and a reproachful look - although he didn't say anything.
Later, you are still sitting together as a group - you have postponed the big celebration until tomorrow. You don't want to celebrate without Carlos, but he would still have to play tomorrow. Now Carlos and you are sitting together on a narrow couch, he is showing you the countless photos he has taken of you with the victory trophy.
Your younger sister - who has been busy building a pyramid out of tennis balls - suddenly raises her head and looks at Carlos for a long time.
“You know, now you also need to win your final tomorrow!”, your younger sister suddenly grins at Carlos.
Your boyfriend chuckles softly and gives you a quick sideways glance before he answers: “Is that so?”
“Yeah!”, your sister nods weightily and points a finger at you, “Otherwise she would be more successful than you!”
You slide an arm around Carlos’ neck and look down at your sister: “But he already won the US Open last year, and I didn’t?”
“Yeah, but this is Wimbledon.”, she shrugs, “Nothing is more important than Wimbledon.”
Her serious expression makes you laugh, and Carlos asks with feigned bewilderment: “And what happens if I don’t win tomorrow?”
Your sister raises her eyebrows, she sounds like it goes without saying: "Then you are not worthy to be her boyfriend."
After saying this, she gets up and disappears over to your mother.
Carlos and you start laughing at the same time.
“Wow, no pressure than, huh?”
You lean against him and rest your head on his shoulder: “Yeah, her standards are quite high for a nine-year-old…”
Carlos lets himself sink further back into the couch and pulls you with him.
“And what about your standards?”, he hugs you while saying that, “Would you still love me if I lose tomorrow?”
“Well, I think you make quite a good cheerleader…so, yeah, I think I’m going to keep you.”
He starts laughing and softly shakes his head: “Wow. I kinda expected a “I’ll love you no matter if you win or lose”.”
“Oh, come on!”, you smack his chest playfully, but you snuggle closer to him again, “You know I will never ever let you go!”,
His hand strokes your back in large circles, his voice sounds teasing: “Never?”
“Nope. Never.”, you lift your head to look him in the eyes, “But I’d appreciate it if you would win tomorrow’s final.”
“Yeah, me too.”, he sighs loudly and whispers, “Do you think I can do it?”
“Yes.”, you cup his cheeks with your hands, “Yes, you will do it.”, you smile at him, “And tomorrow evening we gonna celebrate both of our titles. Together.”, you press a quick kiss on his lips, “And we will do stupid and cheesy photos together. And my god, the press will write even cheesier articles about us…”
Carlos returns your smile and nods slowly.
“Can’t wait for that!”, he says before he kisses you softly.

I rolled-rolled-rolled-rolled (oh e!)
Until I corrected sugar karma
We will arrange a coache in an apartment
And you will be on a washer in the toilet
And then not sorry, you did not lay out the story
How you were singing and leaked
Babies on crystals
Self -arrange a Love parade
You are such a sweet candy
Ultrachocolate
I melt in my mouth, money is melting in my hands
Sucking lollipop, sugar water
Sour, sad go
Lick me, yes. Cream cunt (cunt?)
I am Ferrero Rocher, not fucking skittles
I want to Porshe and sizes as Pringles
Cream, sugar and strawberries
All Star Weekend. Choko Chika
Babies on crystals
Self -arrange a Love parade
You are such a sweet candy
