Why does it seem like every year someone i know gets into a mediocre relationship either drops off the face of the earth or threatens to if you gently try to tell them hey this might be a bad idea. Considers moving to a place nobody they know lives in and then is miserable by themselves for x amount of years because the relationship ended up being not very good
