Friday nights were always their time for each other. It wasn’t easy with a big group of friends and a loveably overbearing mother monopolizing any time that wasn’t already delegated to their baby. So they had told everyone that, just that one evening, they were off the radar. It quickly became Clarke’s favorite day of the week.

The thing that surprised Clarke the most was how little changed now that she and Murphy were officially in a relationship. A part of her had feared that it would complicate things somehow. But, if anything, having their relationship be official just made things easier.

Murphy was never short on affection for her. He told her he loved her as often as he could and Clarke couldn’t help being charmed by it. She had truly never felt like this about anyone and she was just so grateful that they had decided to take the chance.

Raven teased her about it mercilessly. Especially since Clarke still called him Murphy. She had tried calling him John but they had both agreed it just felt odd. Every now and then she used it, typically when she was feeling particularly romantic or sometimes in bed. But otherwise, their dynamic had hardly changed.

On a break between episodes Murphy went to make them dinner and she couldn’t help watching him. Their lives were so entwined now she couldn’t imagine a life without him. For the first time in her life, she had learned to trust that this was real.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Murphy asked, flipping a towel over his shoulder and raising an eyebrow at her.

Clarke grinned. “Looking at you like what?”

“Like you look at a bucket of extra buttered popcorn at the theater,” Murphy teased.

Hi! Oh, thank you so much! I'm still figuring out exactly what I’m doing here so it's so nice to hear that you're enjoying it! Those are my most recent favorites (in a no particular order and I’m sure I’m forgetting someone anyway!) all those writers don’t need presentation and are so incredibly and genuinely talented! I highly suggest checking out all their phenomenal works!

Literally everything by @animmortalist who is so talented! For some works read carefully the tags because she treats a series of delicate subjects but in my humble opinion she does it in an exceptional way! If you enjoy angst, complex character, unexpected pairing (Rock Bottom and Love is the best thing we do feature some amazing Clurphy!), and amazing stories as setting those could be the works you're looking for!

If you're a fan of comfort/hurt go for the amazing stories of @jasperjoordan! Iva is an incredible writer! You'll cry and suffer but it will be definitely worth it! Once again be mindful of the tags for sensible subjects, but the way she touches them is really remarkable! If you enjoy pain (the good kind!), deep characters, and emotional rollercoaster she has your back!

If you love kid fics, fluff, and romance with a bit of angst and hotness give a shoot to the Rom-Com series and other incredible stories by @nakey-cats-take-bathsss! All her stories are so brilliant! If you're having a bad day the cuteness in them will make it better for sure!

EVERYTHING from @burninghoneyatdusk the author is absolutely incredible! From the world-building to the characters everything is so perfect! The stories are so original and interesting (and often feature all my favorite tropes!) you'll feel immediately involved in them and they will blow you away! I absolutely adore them all! If you're in for an emotional crazy ride those stories are definitely something you could enjoy!

The Buoyant Heart by @excuseyouclarke  is so engaging! The story is built amazingly, every chapter leaves me like “Wait, what? And now?” and definitely super excited for more! The author is so great! I also highly recommend Dysfunctional families (and other reasons to keep secrets) that’s just so funny and wholesome and just utterly amazing! And Red Sky At Night! I just started it and still have to finish but definitely recommended!

Finding North and For Blue Skies by @kombellarke I'm catching up on the other works of this amazing author but those two already own my heart! The chemistry between Bellarke is described so well that will be impossible not to fall in love with those two! All the emotions, the stories' settings are just so good and the writing so stunning, love those stories so much!

Moved By You by @dayo488 now not only this story features Grounder!Bellamy (that is one of my favorite things of all time!) but also serves found family excellence, an incredible story and don’t let me start on the absolutely stunning writing! The author is truly amazing and this story is an absolutely gem!

Paint me in trust by @pawprinterfanfic this story is absolute perfection! And it’s not only the Harry Potter lover in me talking! The author is so crazy talented they took a well-known universe and still manage to create something so original and unique! The story and the characters' dynamics are just so great! And the writing absolutely gorgeous!

I've Learned in Love and Death We Don't Decide by @grumpybell the angst/comfort, the fluff this story really has everything and I loved it so much! The author is so amazing! The story is so beautiful, the writing absolutely flawless and the characters' dynamics so interesting! Absolutely adored it and I’m planning on catching up on the author’s other works!

Say my name (wear it out like a sweater) by @talistheintrovert, once again my heart is weak for Grounder!Bellamy but add badass leader Clarke, a baby, and an arranged marriage and here we have this absolute gem! Loving this story so so so much! From the world-building to the characters' interaction and the flawless writing this story is just wonderful and the author so great and talented!

Skate the line with me (let's fall in love) by andromedabennet on AO3 I absolutely love ice skating and this story is so great! The slow-burning, the tension, the setting, and last but not last the great writing make this story so amazing!

The Void Between Us by bardicMutterings on AO3 setting on the Ark, enemies to lovers with an arranged marriage in the mix, do I need to say anything else? This story is absolutely so great! I love how the author is building the Bellarke relationship and the whole setting is so good!

In The Hall Of The Mountain King by winterseasalt on AO3 is just two chapters in but already SO good! The story is so original, the premise super interesting and the writing great! Definitely worth checking!

How You Remind Me by eirallina on AO3 this story is SO good! Modern AU featuring actors!Bellarke serving enemies to lover in a great slow-burn way! And extra points for the Harry Potter references!

Until now I took for granted that you were asking for Bellarke related works but if by any chance you love/like/enjoy Memori you can’t miss out on the incredible works by @mobi-on-a-mission and @queenemori they’re both SO talented and all their stories are absolutely AMAZING!

2, 6, 9, 25 for salty asks! Whatever fandom you need to rant on (i have an idea what it is, go for it and enjoy!) :)

I have only been truly salty in two fandoms in my life: Game of Thrones and The 100. I am mostly over both of them now, but I will say this, while I will be 100% over GoT eventually and may even rewatch next year, I will never be able to watch The 100 again. That said, I'll answer this for both of those dumbass shows.

2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?*

For The 100, Murven is the first one that comes to mind. I just don't like them or get it. To be honest, I am not at all convinced that LM and RH had the chemistry to pull it off, but even if they did, having someone who is disabled be with the person who disabled her just feels wrong on so many levels for me. I don't like it and the development wasn't on the show for me to even contemplate.

Game of Thrones on the other hand, had a few that come to mind but one I absolutely don't understand what people saw in Theon and Sansa. I thought Sophie and Alfie had wonderful chemistry but I didn't see it as romantic at all, but they for sure saw each other as comrades and kindred spirits. I do not get it.

6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?*

Clurphy all the way! My special Slytherin pals! Clarke and Murphy should have had a solid relationship on the show but they didn't and if you had asked me about them just based on what I saw on screen, I would have been so confused by the thought. Fandom, especially fics, have just opened my eyes to them and now I can't close them at all. I love their sass together and their weirdass dark humor. Love them now and I won't be stopped.

Jonsa is the one that comes to mind for Game of Thrones. I was grossed out by the sibling thing on the show and how Jon so clearly saw her as his little sister even if I do think Kit and Sophie could have pulled it off if the writers wanted to go there but it was once again fic that made me love them.

9. Most disliked character(s)? Why?

Both have so many and for so many reasons, I don't even know where to begin.

The 100, I don't like Lexa and Echo. They both were thinly veiled strong female characters clearly written by men and were so underdeveloped their motivations rarely made sense. They had almost no characterization that was consistent and anything to love about them has been created by fandom and projected onto the screen. Neither were the feminist icons fans like to pretend they were and both were bland at best.

Game of Thrones, Ramsey need I say more. I also have no love for Stannis and Bran. Both of them were just sanctimonious assholes who thought the sacrifices others made on their behalf was worth the greater good because they died for them and they were special. Both of them were just god awful rich white men. Bran being disabled went no where in the story at all for such a big part in the first season and Stannis killed his brother for power and there was no redemption for me after that. Anyone who does anything for power is just a dick. Also, the moment Bran said, "Why do you think I came all this way." I knew I was never going to be able to rewatched without hating and resenting him.

25. How would you end XXX/Would you change the ending of XXX?

All of season 7 of The 100 sucked and it would be too complicated for a single post. Mostly, I would not concentrate on a stupid green space fog and a cult that came out of no where and focus on the closure for our characters. I don't how any decent writer would spend their last chance to be with their story and focus on a different story and characters for a potential prequel. You get one chance to say goodbye and this is what they choose and it makes no sense and they have no integrity or creativity.

Game of Thrones is easier in the sense that my biggest gripe was the pacing. Season 8 started too slow and then went way too fast. They didn't let the needed development for their ending to make sense exist on the show. They needed a few more episodes or a whole other season to really let that story breathe. That and I would not make Bran the Broken (an offensive thing) king and I would give Jaime the respect of his development deserved. Other parts of the finale I almost understood.

Question for fellow fan-fic addicts. A few weeks (months?) ago I was reading a modern fanfic where Clurphy decide to sleep together to make Bellamy (who is recently engaged to Echo) and Raven jealous. It deepens the friendship, but also in true Slytherin fashion they enjoy the chaos it causes in their friend group. Last chapter has them dressed to kill and showing up at a rehearsal dinner they weren’t invited to. Does anyone remember this and can they point me towards it?

2. What’s next on your ‘to-read’ list? (Fan fiction or otherwise) For like actual books I have just started Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes! Excited to get more into that. And for fanfic, I am working on closing the tabs on my phone that I have open, so I’m in the middle of catching up with I Found Peace in Your Violence by @eyessharpweaponshot and reading @imunbreakabledude‘s Killing Eve fic Imagine Me And You (And Our Parents). Then it’s on to my very lengthy marked for later page on AO3, but I’ll probably read a Magicians fic once I finish with those two, I like to switch up fandoms from time to time.

5. What’s a crackship you love? Um, maybe Murphy/Josephine/Gabriel, which I made by accident in We Don’t Need To Say It? @imunbreakabledude has coined their ship name to be Murphinebriel, which is endlessly amusing to me. She also made me think of the possibilities of Romurphamy because of my stay-at-home dads fic. So those are the things on my mind currently. Also Clurphy, though I’m grappling with whether that’s a crackship or not anymore...

19. What’s your favorite character headcanon? Dad!Murphy time! I’ve probably mentioned this before, but I will say it again, I love love love the idea of Murphy getting his kiddos involved with the cooking! He always starts off when they’re toddlers by giving them their own personal cooking show, but as they get older, he gets them to help a bit, so they help him cook meals a couple times a week. And they absolutely LOVE it. Also he just loves to bake. I enjoy any headcanon of Murphy cooking or with children, if you couldn’t tell.

“This is your fucking fault, you know,” Clarke mumbled.

“I’m aware.” Murphy barely hid the smile in his voice.

“God,” Clarke complained and she tucked the blanket a bit tighter around her feet which were perpetually cold these days, “I seriously don’t understand how people choose to do this multiple times.”

“My guess it has something to do with the baby you get at the end of it,” Murphy laughed. “So I take this to mean you aren’t hungry.”

Clarke sighed. “Maybe a little.”

“Grilled chicken and buttered pasta it is,” Murphy said, standing and placing a kiss on her temple.

The nausea and puking weren’t the only annoying things so far. Besides being moody, tired, and having to pee all the time she also had horrible food aversions. The only thing she seemed to be able to handle was chicken and rice or chicken and pasta. What was the point of dating a chef if her taste buds had devolved into that of a toddler?

But Murphy never complained. Whatever she needed he made sure she had. More pillows? Done. Comfy socks? Done. Any food, comfort items, or entertainment he was happy to provide. She was pretty sure he was trying to make up for something but she wasn’t about to complain. She was pregnant after all.

The truth was, she was actually pretty excited. Sure, the nerves were still there and she knew they were in no way prepared. Even still, maybe it was natural instinct or something, but the idea of holding a baby that was half her and half Murphy made her get butterflies. Ok, maybe that was just more nausea, but the sentiment stood all the same. They were having a baby.

Murphy was shaken from his nostalgia when the gentle sound of Dave Barnes Christmas album began to float in from the living room. He knew that the sound meant Clarke had finished getting ready and was at least downstairs with barely a half-hour to spare before the start time on their invitations. It was her favorite album and he wasn’t surprised that she chose that one to start the night. He was sure he could sneak some Nat King Cole in there later after she had finished a drink or two.

As he plotted his music takeover he heard the sound of soft footsteps creeping up behind him and he grinned but didn’t turn to spoil her intended surprise.

Her strong arms wound their way around his waist from behind and he entwined his fingers with hers. She kissed him on the shoulder and peeked over him to see what he was working on.

“That smells heavenly,” Clarke told him, as he tossed the last of the meatballs in the cranberry sauce before loading them into a large dish for the table.

As soon as he got the last scoop into the bowl, Murphy turned around in her arms and pulled her in for a long, languid kiss. “Not as good as you do,” he said into the skin of her neck, breathing in the heady scent there.

“It doesn’t count as very much of a compliment when you are the one who bought this perfume for me, John” she teased, sighing as he kissed her bare skin.

”Not my fault I have such good taste,” he said, pulling back to look at her as his breath caught in his chest. “God, you’re gorgeous.”

And she really was. In a red satin dress that just skimmed her knees with black lace around the waist and more cleavage than was probably fair but he certainly wasn’t complaining about it; he was floored by her beauty. He twirled her around, making her giggle, before pulling her in for another searing kiss. Her eyes were done with a light shimmer and her cheeks red but she has been smart enough to not put her lipstick on yet, knowing Murphy would kiss it off before their friends even arrived.

“So do I get to find out what’s in all the boxes and bags?” Murphy asked.

Clarke grinned and went to her good, clearly excited about whatever their day had in store. “Ok. First, the bags because they don’t have anything to do with the holiday, I just knew we would want them.”

With that, she pulled two six-packs out. The first was 2 Towns blackberry cider, one of her favorites that he had found for her after she admitted how much she loved blackberry jam last summer. The second, Voodoo Ranger Haze IPA, the beer she found for him when he argued he would never like an IPA.

He grinned. “Alright, Griffin. Now you are definitely forgiven.”

“I thought you would like that,” she smirked right back. “Ok, next is box number one with a hint inside to what we are celebrating.

When she opened the box it had… a pumpkin pie in it.

“Ok,” he said, “I think you’ve lost me. Also, I am very confused about why we are eating pumpkin pie in March. Where did you even find a pumpkin pie in March?”

“Harper made it, “ Clarke said. “Obviously. Ok, now the last box, this should answer your question.”

Finally, she opened the last box, the pizza box, and suddenly it all made sense. In the middle of an uncut pizza, the pepperoni’s were arranged in a familiar shape: π.

“An excuse to eat pizza and actual pie?” Clarke said, hand on her hip and eyebrow raised. “How does this surprise you?”

Murphy shook his head and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her in for a kiss. “Honestly, it doesn’t in the slightest.”

“Ok Clarke, you ready?” Gina asked with a bright smile as she came in but her smile faded a bit when she took in Clarke’s expression. “Hey, are you alright?”

Clarke shook her head with a small laugh. “Why is it that I can hide my feelings from everyone else but you?”

“I’m just better than everyone else,” Gina raised her eyebrow and smirked. “So, what’s wrong?”

“It’s really nothing,” Clarke said, fiddling with the edge of her sleeve and fighting back tears. Stupid hormones. “I guess I’m just worried that Murphy isn’t going to get here on time. I know it’s probably silly but I just really don’t want to find out without him.”

“It isn’t silly,” Gina assured her. “A lot of women don’t want to do this part without their partner. It’s a special moment. I promise that if he isn’t here on time I won’t tell you. Is that fair?”

Letting out a shaky breath, Clare swiped at a rogue tear that had fallen down her cheek. “Thanks, Gina.”

“But to be fair,” Gina leaned in like she was telling a secret, “I doubt he won’t make it. That man would move mountains for you. If he has to run a stop sign or two? Well, I'm sure fate will be on his side.”

Clarke barked out a laugh at that and Gina winked at her. As they got the machine set up and were chatting a loud sound came from outside in the waiting room that sounded suspiciously like something being knocked over. Clarke smiled but dropped her head into her hands shaking it as she laughed.

“Something tells me prince charming has arrived,” Gina said.

As Clarke watched them it was as if Murphy could sense her eyes as he looked over straight at her and smiled softly. Clarke’s stomach flipped.

Murphy turned back to the others and excused himself before coming over to join Clarke. When he reached her he slipped his arm around her waist, hand resting on her belly, and kissed her on the cheek.

“It’s all turned out pretty well, yeah?’ Murphy asked, looking out at all of their friends.

“It’s perfect,” Clarke told him, leaning more into his side. “And you and Echo did great with the catering. I really think that business has a chance of taking off. I already overheard Marcus telling my mom that they should hire you for their Christmas party.”

“Yes well,” Murphy blushed a bit, never one to do well with compliments despite his outward arrogance, “if they want to do that they can. But I will still be enjoying my paid time off with you and our kid.”

Clarke warmed and kissed his cheek.

“Alright breeders,” Octavia said when she came over with confetti cannons in hand, “I think it’s about time to get this reveal going, don’t you?”

Clarke laughed and rolled her eyes. “Fine, fine, let’s do it.”

“Alright folks,” Murphy yelled out over the crowd as Monty paused the music, “if you will please make your way over to this lovely towering monstrosity of a cake we can begin.”

The cake really was an impressive piece of artistry. It was probably around eight layers thick with perfectly smooth white icing covered in artistic drips of pink and blue icing, covered in sprinkles, and with little roses piped along its base. Though they couldn’t see it yet, the interior was filled with M&M’s that would come spilling out when Murphy cut into it.

“Ok,” Clarke said, her confetti cannon in hand, and Miller had his camera pointed on them ready to get the shot of the reveal, “I’m going to count down from five and say go. When I do all those with cannons will pull them as Murphy cuts the cake. Are we all ready?”

Actually a lot of people are here for an “irrelevant” fic. And honestly anything is a ship. I could ship Octavia with the anomaly if i wanted and it would still be a ship.

And as I’ve said to multiple of your asks already I am tagging my fic correctly. If you can’t look at a fic that has Clarke/Murphy as a romantic tag (and has had that since the first chapter) and think “huh maybe something might happen between Clarke and Murphy in this fic” that’s on you. Bellarke and clurphy are both big things in this fic and thus both need to be tagged.
