Hey! I'm looking through all the recipes to find things I might like to make, but I've noticed some of the source pages are missing :( [cries a little] Do you think it'd still be possible to prepare them just using what's provided on the blog?
Oh no! D: I had no idea! Basically, what I do is I put the ingredients into my posts but not the prep instructions, because that feels like plagiarism. Unfortunately, I have no control over whether these random recipes I find on the internet get taken down.
The only thing I can suggest is maybe trying the Wayback Machine? Sometimes you can look at archived pages using that. You might also be able to replicate my stuff by combining the ingredients in my posts with steps from a similar recipe. Good luck!
#cluecrewcookin#honestly I just google stuff and pick the one with the best reviews lol#asks#non-recipe#irinyaclockworker

Nancy Drew Recipes
Have you ever wanted to taste one of those delicious cakes you see in a Nancy Drew game? Have you ever craved all the good food she ate in the original book series? Well this is the recipe blog for you! Here I will post recipes from any and all Nancy Drew media (the video games, the books, the cookbook).
Feel free to make any of these meals and send in a picture and a review!
*None of these recipes are mine; they’re all ones that I’ve found online. I’ll be sure to link every source! But if your recipe is on this blog and you don’t want it to be, send me a message and I’ll take it down ASAP. Also, I want to give a special thanks to @cluecrewcookin for the inspiration behind this blog. (Be sure to check them out! They actually make Nancy Drew foods and review them!)

Here is some chili that I made based off of the wonderful @cluecrewcookin‘s ‘Rattlesnake Chili’ recipe from Nancy Drew: Secret of Shadow Ranch! Like @cluecrewcookin, I used chicken instead of rattlesnake meat (obviously!) and added a can of black beans (though not black bean soup) to make the mixture wetter. I also added some of my own modifications: using a whole onion rather than half, 2 cloves of garlic/pounds of ground beef instead of 1, and leaving out the green peppers since I’m not that big a fan of them. But it still looks a lot more like the original recipe than the lentil soup I made based off this blog 2 years ago, so I’m pretty pleased with it!
The main thing I can say about this chili is that it is very filling. One bowl of it will fill you right up. I also find it quite flavorful, even though it does’t have any spices other than chili powder.
Thanks to @cluecrewcookin for all the great work you do for this fandom!!!

Recipe 100 - KoKo Kringle
For my 100th recipe I wanted to do something special while still staying true to the purpose of my blog. I could have, for example, just made a big cake that said “100 Recipes” on it. Instead, I realized I could do the number one iconic food of the games, the KoKo Kringle. This recipe transcends category as the candy bar is an Easter egg in every game since Secret of the Scarlet Hand. It is as much of a series mainstay as Nancy’s horse shirt and Mom jeans and everyone loves making Nancy eat them ‘til she’s sick.
I held off making this recipe for so long because I was worried it would be too hard and not work out but it was actually incredibly easy to make. It ended up tasting like a higher-end caramel, chocolate bar and I was really pleased with the result. This recipe made me want to experiment with other homemade chocolates :)

@cluecrewcookin @clueingforcooks
So I have always been obsessed with the food of Nancy Drew and when I was in hospital/ bedridden I took it upon myself to collate as many of the food items (just stuff you could actually make i.e. no oranges or loquats) as I could find in all of the games. Recently was tidying up my computer and found my list!

AHHHHH! I just saw your post promo-ing cluecrewcookin a year ago and I just wanted to stop by and say thanks ;u; I'm sorry I hadn't seen it until now but you tagged it "clue crew cookin" and until now I've only followed "cluecrewcookin." Anyway, here's a really belated but sincere "THANK YOU" :D
You’re very welcome! I was glad to promo you. :)
And of course! I’d love to come back. I just need to spend some time developing a worthy recipe. I want to do some sweet cheese biscuits for TRT, but they haven’t come together just yet.
Take care!

Afterglow
From:
Recipe from The Haunting of Castle Malloy. ClueCrewCookin made this and reviewed it. Grenadine recipe from Dave at InternationalRecipes. Cheesecloth alternatives from Tastessense. Orange juice recipe from Chelseaskingirl at AllRecipes. Pineapple juice recipe from Layla Pujol at Laylita. How to understand drink measurement (“parts”) from Colleen Graham at TheSpruceEats. Overall recipe from DrinksMixer.
Servings:
About 1 glass
Ingredients:
1 part grenadine
4 parts orange juice
4 parts pineapple juice
Ice
1 orange slice (optional)
Supplies:
Liquid measuring cup
Drinking glass(es)
Directions:
Mix.
Serve over ice.
Garnish with orange slice (optional)
Tips:
1 part usually = 1 ounce in alcoholic drinks. Otherwise, 1 part can be any size you want (an ounce, a cup, a splash, a teaspoon)! Decide how much you want 1 part to be and take that into account for the rest of the recipe. So if you decide 1 part = 1 ounce, use 1 ounce of grenadine, 4 ounces of orange juice, and 4 ounces of pineapple juice.
If you have more of all the ingredients and you want to make enough servings to use them all up, you have two options: 1) if you have a lot of leftovers, use the idea from above and instead of making a part equal to 1 ounce, have it equal to something bigger, like 1 cup. Or 2) if you don’t know how much you have leftover, just multiply each part in in the original recipe with the number of glasses you want! Ex. (with ounces) For 2 glasses, use 2 parts (ounces) grenadine, 8 parts (ounces) orange juice, and 8 parts (ounces) pineapple juice. For 3 glasses, use 3 parts (ounces) grenadine, 12 parts (ounces) orange juice, and 12 parts (ounces) pineapple juice. And so on and so forth.
And if you want to make the grenadine, orange juice, or pineapple juice from scratch, you can do that with the ingredients and directions below!
Grenadine Ingredients:
2 ¼ pounds pomegranates
1 pint water
Equal part sugar to strained pomegranate juice
Red food coloring (optional)
Grenadine Supplies:
Liquid measuring cup
Heavy saucepan
Wooden spoon
Sieve
Cheesecloth (or if you don’t have one here are some substitutions!)
Kitchen towel (washed, no dye, make sure to squeeze it out)
Medical gauze (layer about 4 pieces)
Sheets or pillow case (washed, no dye, make sure to squeeze it out)
Tea towels (washed, no dye)
Sock (new, washed)
Muslin
Coffee filters
Paper towels (be careful, they absorb liquid!)
Bowl
Bottle
Grenadine Directions:
Separate the pomegranate seeds from the membranes and skin.
In a heavy saucepan, cover pomegranate seeds with 1 pint of water and simmer, stirring until juice sacs release their juice, about 5 minutes.
Pour through a cheesecloth-layered sieve into a bowl, pressing the juice from the seeds. Discard seeds.
Measure the strained pomegranate juice and add an equal amount of sugar.
Pour into saucepan and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
Cool to room temperature.
Add food coloring, if using. Pour into a decorative stoppered bottle.
Orange Juice Ingredients:
4 oranges (can use more as needed)
Orange Juice Supplies:
Glass
Hand juicer with strainer
Citrus reamer (you can use this instead if you don’t mind more pulp)
Orange Juice Directions:
Lightly smack each orange on the counter. Cut each one in half. Squeeze into a glass. You may also use a citrus reamer to do this. If you want less pulp, use a hand juicer with a strainer.
Pineapple Juice Ingredients:
1 whole pineapple
6 cups of water (add more to taste)
¼ cup to ½ cup sugar (adjust based on preference and sweetness of the pineapple)
Juice from 1 lime or lemon
Pineapple Juice Supplies:
Knife
Pineapple corer/cutter (optional)
Blender
Sieve
Pineapple Juice Directions:
Peel pineapple.
Core pineapple.
Cut pineapple into medium size chunks.
Working in batches place the pineapple chunks with the water, sugar and lime juice in the blender, and blend well.
Strain the juice.

Unfortunately, I didn't make most of these recipes. I would love to try a lot of them, though! However, I did spend hours upon hours looking for pictures of the recipes and digging through cooking pages, but especially through @cluecrewcookin's blog. They have made so many of the recipes, and I definitely suggest checking them out! That my be my favorite blog tbh.
However, with that being said, my favorite suggestion from the recipes (if you want one) is "the OTHER Shadow Ranch cake." It's the only cake I've made, ever, and it's absolutely delicious. I do it without the walnuts, but if you want a basic and simple yet absolutely delicious chocolate cake, that's a good choice. The dark chocolate frosting listed on the link is really good, but a little bitter. It's a little more work but butter cream frosting is really good with it. Or this Hershey's frosting recipe is so good, so chocolately and sugary😂

Here is the lentil soup I made based off @cluecrewcookin‘s Curse of Blackmoor Manor recipe! It didn’t turn out looking anything like theirs, unfortunately, nor did it taste as good as I’d imagined it would. But it’s still enjoyable.
I made some slight changes in the recipe - used more carrots and onions and no celery, used dried instead of fresh thyme, skipped the red vinegar and bay leaves, bought red lentils without knowing the recipe specified to use anything BUT them, used vegetable soup powder instead of broth - so maybe that accounts for the difference. Regardless of how it turned out, it was lots of fun to make, especially since it’s from one of my favorite blogs and based off one of my favorite games! :)
